You don observe say most people when de shout say job no de for this country na this two set of people?. it's either them no get skill or them get but no wan make use of the skill.

Even most of the graduate when de complain say work no de or government no gree employ them, if you look them well you go observe say them be people when no too take there studies serious or them just focus on there studies and no add a single skill to wetin them go study for school.

The society don really change a lot, and to be successful now, you need to be skilled at something and to also make the best out of your skill.

I know some persons when de very good at writing but them know no say that one too na skill when de fit use get one or two money, there own na to use am for Facebook comment section take complain about how work no de for we country.

There are others that are good at graphics, maths, hair dreasing and so on but they are not willing to develop it and will just keep criticizing and dictating errors from people doing those jobs.

There was a time someone needed a tiller for his house and told me to bring in some guys for the job, I contacted some of my school friend that are into tilling and when I took them there and found out the amount they charged the man for the job eh, my brain burst. That was when I give big thumbs up to all skilled individual.

The truth is that no skill becomes well refined when you've not started practicing it that much but ones you continue using it the right way, you will start improving on it and with time, people will see you as a lord in the craft.

No let any person deceive you, being skilled at a trade in today's world is the key to your success.

When choosing a skill to learn, always check your interest and try to ensure that the skill you are wanting to learn will be relevant and one that will be able to still remain profitable in the future. Some skills are no longer worth learning because their profit margin is now so small that you financial situation will not change even after you struggle to learn it. So skills dey important, even if say you A1 for school , you still need skills to take support the educational certificates way you get, so that if school certificate no favour you, skills go help.

Truth be told u are partially right but for this country na everybody de complain about this job matter so. Snr man I go disagree with you on this one oh! At the moment, people no really de reason if your work na white collar job or not like that oh! As a matter of fact, if you de do all these white collar job and money no gum you, people go even yarb you and them no go take you that serious.

But e get some skills when you go get when go give you mad money like this and you self fit create that white collar personality come even look sharp pass those supposed government workers.

I think we should send more of our kids and younger ones to vocational schools so as to learn good skills that real world impact, as compared to our outdated schools curriculum that teachers follow blindly.

Getting a skill a lot needs to be considered,  the world is changing everyday when searching for a skill to learn people needs to look for relevant skill, and needs to look into what the world really needs because this the best way to make money from the skill acquired.  Their are skill that are trending that will last very long and people will still be in need of it. The money which can be used to learn good skill shouldn't make people to change their mind not to go for it, no money in learning skill is a waste.  People need to understand that they will still make good money from the skill they learn.

This na major problem my brother. Plenty people for our country no get skill and even though wey go university still carry theory full their head; no practical knowledge. If you wan check wetin I dey talk, call a graduate for electrical engineering to come do small electrical work for your house and see if him fit do am. Even the people wey study Mechanical Engineering still dey get issue solving small problem we dey connected to their area of study. I know say na our educational system.

Skills should be learnt based on passion and personality. you take inventory of yourself first and know what works for you and what you do effortlessly, that which you do with happiness, you go ahead and learn a skill in that path and your passion will spur success as compared to what you learnt out of maybe pressure.

One thing is to learn a skill, another thing is to be keep being relevant in the field. you need to constantly upgrade yourself in the career to keep up with the competitive market. if you just learn a skill without being updated, you will become irrelevant with time. Op. you just said my mind, infact you have said it all. sometimes, I dey thank God for this hardship wah dey this country because people have understand the importants of leaning one or two skills. one of the mistakes I made was going to school without learning a skill. but today i thank God for everything. when you check well today you will know that those that have skill is also doing very well this period of hardship. the way this country is going, my children will learn one skill each before going to school.

Being self-employed is the best alternative to rescuing oneself from the current economic situation of the country. Waiting for the government to employ you for a job is something that cannot be guaranteed because of the tribalistic sentiment involved in the whole process of the recruitment exercise. Even the government would tell you that they can not employ everybody at the same time and in some instances, they would say there are not enough funds to pay so therefore the employment volume is limited and there is nothing you could do about it So in this case, being self-employed is the only option and to do that, one would need to go for a skill and perfect it so as to attain mastery in the craft.

What about if you learn a better skill and you're well in it but you need finance to establish the skill you have learnt so how can one raise the money? like you talked about fashion designers ain't they gonna rent a shop? Buy sewing machines and pay for electricity bills and other sewing equipment. So it isn't really easy for anyone at all but my advice is just that we should learn the skills first so that when an opportunity comes for us to establish it then we can conveniently do it without any fear.

But one of the factors that affect people from acquiring a skills is the finance because most people are not privileged to have someone or sponsor themselves for any skills because it takes a lot of money to enroll for any training, however in as much as skills is very important but one should be very selective in times of choosing a particular skills perhaps we have different kinds of skills such as self employed skills and industrial skills, however we should always consider the possibility of easily getting a job through the skills acquired before chosen anyone, although considering how tough it is getting a job in this country the best skills to go for should be mostly the ones that are self employed so that you don't rely on anyone to employed you before you could start.

Honestly the era of white collar jobs don the pass na skill orientated jobs whether digital or technical jobs dey rein now, unfortunately there are plenty graduates now in the country but na few white collar jobs dey available, however na all those technical skills get upper hand now tillers, plumbers, PoP installers, Alluminium window and door installers, Solar panel installers etc creating time to  acquire any of those skills sure pass unfortunately Naija graduates no want to lower their pride to learn any of them besides those jobs there are graphic design, content writing, forex and crypto trading etc all these digital skills if acquired such a personal can never get broke but how many graduate fit sit down to learn it? I think it's only few of them.

getting finance to start up as a skilled individual isn't always a big deal provided you are very skilled at what you're doing. And let point this out that being skilled doesn't necessarily mean that you need to start up something of your own. There are lots of existing firms and organisation that will be willing to pay you well just to get you working for them.
