Title: Bitcoin gift to wife.
Post by: Bd officer on October 17, 2023, 08:18:29 AM
I promised in a post (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5456229.msg62400101#msg62400101) on this forum a few months ago. I had a plan to give half of my bitcoin investment to my wife after marriage. I got married a few days ago. First I gave my wife all the ideas about Bitcoin. I was surprised to hear my wife, as soon as I told my wife about Bitcoin, she said that she had heard the name of Bitcoin before. I thought it would be very difficult to convince girls. But my wife was able to understand about Bitcoin very easily. I gave him half of the investment as per my word. He is very happy to get Bitcoin. My wife plans to hold bitcoin for a long time. Now you can say it is better to give girls gold jewelery than bitcoins. I have given gold ornaments to my wife as per her wish. Have any of you managed to teach your wife Bitcoin? Have any of you gifted bitcoin to a wife like me?

Unfortunately, I have never something like that. First, I don't have a wife and I am 90% sure I may not have one in the near future. Second, I don't have that much Bitcoin worth gifting to anyone I love. Now, I do appreciate what you have just done and I am sure that your wife is a happy wife as she now realized that you think she is valuable enough to be worthy of your trust...and of course, love. I am wishing both of you 100 years of happiness and abundance - you deserve each other and may your family increase by a hundredfold.

Why not do both ? There are Bitcoin wallets in different shapes. I have one that looks like an old pocket watch. That way you can have something that looks relatively nice and holds a surprise inside :)
I have not gifted my wife bitcoin but she knows about it, she sayd she is more comfortable if i manage that side of investing.

First off, congratulations on your wedding,  :).

As the saying goes "happy wife, happy life". I think it's good that you have given here half of your bitcoins though, that is too generous of you. But as what I say, you need to make her happy so I guess I will say it's the right move.

You just have to teach her, to be mentally strong and just be a long term investor because we all know that next year we will be entering the bull run and for sure once she see how good bitcoin as a investment is, she might not look for any other gifts, even gold jewelries.

Not yet but she also had the idea about Bitcoin as I've told her but she's just too lazy to know everything about it or even the basics of it.

Well, the key point here is we can give anything to the love of our lives if they wish to as long as we can afford to give it to them.

I bet that the majority of the wives, if you're going to give them choices about plain and straight cash or Bitcoin. Then everyone has already the idea on what the most of them are going to choose and that's the cash, LOL.

Congratulations bd officer for your marriage and I wish that you both live happily ever after

I was surprised to hear my wife, as soon as I told my wife about Bitcoin, she said that she had heard the name of Bitcoin before. I thought it would be very difficult to convince girls. But my wife was able to understand about Bitcoin very easily.

Yes very difficulty especially our south east countries girls who has very little knowledge about online system. infact in my area Its very difficult to convince old people and girls towards this technology.

I gave him half of the investment as per my word. He is very happy to get Bitcoin. My wife plans to hold bitcoin for a long time. Now you can say it is better to give girls gold jewelery than bitcoins. I have given gold ornaments to my wife as per her wish.

You did a well job that you convince your wife to hold btc for long term. have you given btc in hardwallet or just gives him phrase? I also want to know that she knows now how to buy btc if she want to hold more and also at the time of need she able to sell?

Have any of you managed to teach your wife Bitcoin? Have any of you gifted bitcoin to a wife like me?

No, not yet but she is now aware of this forum because I used Bitcointalk im front of her. your post gives us spirit and I an thinking about that in near future.

If she knows nothing about bitcoin and has never heard of it before, have you thought about giving her a gift that she doesn't even know what it is, so what's the point? But if your wife knows about bitcoin, it's a completely different story, so depending on the situation, we will have a suitable gift. We give gifts according to their preferences, not our own. What's the point if they don't like it? But congratulations on marrying a wife with the same interests as you, it's admirable.

You did the right thing by educating your wife about bitcoin and I also hope you taught her how to keep her investment safe. Since bitcoin is illegal in your country, your wife should learn how to keep her bitcoin holding secret. You know that ladies talk too much and she can give the information unknowingly to the wrong set of people.

Keeping bitcoin for a long time is the surest way of profiting from the investment. Gold and bitcoin are precious commodities to keep but bitcoin is preferable because of its flexibility and simplicity.

It's good to know you already made a thread for it. Why did you not updating how your plan worked so far in that thread?

Creating a new thread to update your plan seems to be unnecessary.

I don't know did you tell her more things about Bitcoin but from the story, you seemed to forget telling her how to backup her wallet, how to recover her wallet from backup. You must teach her to do this and importance of wallet seed, private key and backup. Tell her that if she does not have any backup, she can lose her bitcoin anytime.

She can create a new wallet, sweep Bitcoin from the current wallet to a new one if she does not want to keep it in a wallet you created for her.

When you and your partner are both on the same boat nothing can stand in your way, every wins and falls will count and you guys will keep getting better at everything, I wish you guys happiness in your marriage, and this is the way it's suppose to be, it's not good when husband is into something good for the financial future and the wife isn't on it, I personally don't like this idea unless it's gambling-related, but when it comes to investment both partners should be in the same boat.

If you believe in something do not go on the journey alone if you are married, some people suffered after they lose their partners because of this mistake, imagine leaving your hardware wallet behind for your wife or husband and they can't operate it, even if they have to find someone to do it for them, they can easily get ripped off or scam.

This is also why it's wise to choose your partner wisely, make sure they are smart and always willing to learn something new, if you are the type that always feels like no knowledge is too much you will always be a step ahead of people who don't always want to learn something new.

First of all, many congratulations on your wedding; may you guys have a happy life.

It is good that you have decided to tell her about your Bitcoin holdings beforehand and given her half of your Bitcoin holdings, as you stated. Make sure to teach her more about Bitcoin and the crypto market price trends. I suggest you tell her not to disclose this gift to anyone as Bitcoin is illegal in your country, and both of you might get into trouble.
My wife knows about Bitcoin and also about my holdings. But I haven't gifted her Bitcoin like you did. Gold is what she preferred as a gift. She is also investing her savings into Bitcoin.

You are a man who always keeps his promises.

Congratulations on your wedding.

You are very lucky to have a partner who knows and understands Bitcoin. Hopefully your partner will always support all future investment plans in Bitcoin.
From the past until now, from young and old, women will melt and maybe prefer gold jewelry especially for themselves. Maybe because they know the valuation of Bitcoin, they prefer to keep their BTC and ask for gold to wear 😅

My wife prefers money to Bitcoin, and the BTC I set aside for her I often convert first to currency and hand over in cash. I have also prepared an inheritance for my wife and children in the form of BTC.

When we both have free time, I will share knowledge about BTC and blockchain with my wife.

I want to a gift bitcoin to my wife and I have not been able to give her yet because I have not earned bitcoin yet Going forward I will try to arrange for my wife to earn her own income from Bitcoin I want him to stand on his own feet and be inspired to fulfill his own dreams, that is what I want from Bitcoin I would also like to say one thing before giving more money to your wife, you must understand her otherwise your dream may not be a good dream, but it may pave the way to create a bad dream.

You gave your wife half of your investment without teaching her anything about bitcoin she just know the name of bitcoin which she heard somewhere.
it is very risky as she don't know how to keep bitcoin safe what is private key, seed phrase, wallets, etc.

I instead had given my wife a good vacation or something enjoyable like jewelry or something instead a Moving numbers on wallet(bitcoin) don't feel bad about it, if your wife is happy with bitcoin then keep her happy.

It's amazing of you to keep your promises, and it was best for you to have a wife who believes in bitcoin as well. However, I think some wives would prefer a surprise gift—say, a car—that they can immediately put to use rather than holding onto bitcoin for such a long time. You did a great thing by giving her gold as she requested because you can't just give her bitcoin to hold for a long time some wives may be feeling something or sell it without you knowing because they don't prefer it. As for me, it wasn't a bad thing to gift a wife bitcoin as a surprise, but I would rather do something else, get her something physically not all our women will like holding bitcoin if even they have heard the name before.

It seems really ideal to gift a wife bitcoin, but in this case, if it were me, I would use the money to get her into a business because it is the greatest thing i can do. We all did what was best for us, and you did the best for your marriage. I didn't think you would actually be able to fulfill your promise when I first saw your post a few months ago about giving your wife half of your investment, but you went on to do the right on it.

Congratulations on your marriage. I wish you a happy life. I don’t have a wife, so I don’t know the nature of sharing between married people, but since you need to trust her, it is probably best for you both to manage a multi-signature address. Each of you has a key and the third key is in a safe place. This will reduce any risks associated with her losing her Bitcoin.

It is best to leave a small amount for your children, assuming that it will be $50,000 to $200,000, which is sufficient to cover university expenses.

Congratulations to you man for your new home. It is good to hear that your wife has heard about Bitcoin before and she is still willing to hold the little Bitcoin that you have given to her. This shows that it is not only the men that are so interested in Bitcoin, some women know that Bitcoin is a good store of value.

It is a good idea to give out our Bitcoin to our loved ones, especially those that find Bitcoin to be an important thing in the near future. However, for now, I don't have anybody to give out my coins to. It is not because I don't want to, but because I don't have enough yet to give out.

Women value investment than any other form of gift because they know that such could make them earn more than when they receive only a single one time use of a gift item, for some of us who have spouse, let's create time in teaching them to understand about bitcoin and also have access to the opportunity of learning through us.

Have any of you managed to teach your wife Bitcoin?

Yes, to cap this all, we both are into it altogether, what you know, don't keep it to yourself alone, extend to others as long as there's trust in it and in them.

Have any of you gifted bitcoin to a wife like me?

Yes

Maybe most women, but you're lucky to have a special girl who also likes and understands Bitcoin at the same time. Bitcoin is not a typical investment, so it's not surprising that some may not be interested in it. I even saw a show once where they conducted a social experiment, interviewing a random girls and asking them to choose between 1 bitcoin and $100. Most of them chose $100 because they didn't know what Bitcoin is and its value; they went for instant money.

Anyway, congratulations on your marriage. May you both live long and prosper, just like your Bitcoin holdings. It's nice that you both have your holdings, providing additional security for your future. Good luck with holding and your marriage.

I recently learned the reason behind that. Women will do anything for the man of their lives, even learning about Bitcoin. Without interest, no one will allocate the time to learn and understand about it unless the girl is really into it or someone who is really important to them, like their husband/lover, is into Bitcoin. Women are something as they will do everything so they can get much closer to their man and understand the likes of each other.

I also saw that show, having not a single idea about Bitcoin and choosing $100 over it. The reason as I said, they are not interested in Bitcoin. They only know how to have fun without thinking about investment. There might be someone supporting them financially.

Also, my message to OP,
Good thing you found someone who chooses to understand and learn what you do. It's a good start to have an investment and you both discussed it. It is really uncommon and really inspiring.

First of all, I wish to congratulate you on your successful gifting of Bitcoin to your wife on your (i.e her) wedding day, but however, the entire story still looks fictional to me, since never did you mention the exact amount of Bitcoin you gave her, how was she given (i.e weather was it on an exchange wallet, non-custodial wallet or hardware wallet such as Trezor Nano-x) and lastly neither did you even shared the "transaction ID" for people to see and confirmed if the said story can be verified, which I'm sure you ought to have known as an old member here on this forum.

So, I will like to ask again
1. How much BTC was sent to your wife in appreciation of your love?
2. What form is she holding her BTC (i.e is it on an exchange wallet, non-custodial wallet or hardware wallet such as Trezor Nano-x) ?
Thanks

Women generally aren't as inclined to take risks as men. They tend not to experiment as much, unlike men who are often eager to explore new ideas and investments for potential future gains.

Kudos to OP for being a stand-up guy! He shared his Bitcoin wealth with his wife, even though he acquired it before their marriage. Many others would simply keep it and only share what they earned during the marriage, which is, by law, considered conjugal property.

OP, congratulations on a successful wedding. The bible says that he who finds a wife has find something good, and I can see that all over you and that is why you decided to give her half of your bitcoin to show that she is precious to you. I like your concept and I hope that you will teach her how to safeguard her bitcoin and the right wallet to use. You shouldn't just stop there but also create time to teach her more about bitcoin. Who knows, she might be a better hodler than you because women can save money and they wouldn't like to touch or spend it. You have really proved that you and your wife are now one, that was why you shared you bitcoin investment into two equal part and have her one part.

Congratulations mate on your marriage and thanks for also keeping to your word which you promised to gift your wife half of your bitcoin investment after marriage this shows how much you love her and how you want her to also know about bitcoin and the benefits of investing in it.

Now that she plans on holding Bitcoin for a long time, you need to guide her so that she will not misplace her seed phrase and she needs Bitcoin knowledge so that she won't panic when she encounters FUD, social media stories against Bitcoin. Try letting know the importance of security so thst she won't click on links she knows nothing about which can possibly lead to scamming and hacking of her wallet, I believe if you guide her properly she won't regret this wonderful marriage gift you gave to her.

As people are not so much aware about Bitcoin in our country, we can say that till now even men are not so much aware about Bitcoin. So you can imagine what women would know about Bitcoin. I haven't told my wife anything about Bitcoin till now and haven't given her any such gift but I am very happy to read your idea. Gold jewelry is a common thing to give to girls, but gifting your wife with Bitcoin is more important than gold in my opinion.

It is also a great idea to share Bitcoin with your life partner and tell him about Bitcoin. This way Bitcoin will get more boost .Since my wife doesn't know anything about Bitcoin, even if I wanted to gift her Bitcoin, she wouldn't be very happy. So we should also give our life partner complete information about Bitcoin so that his interest in Bitcoin grows. Maybe your wife is more educated, so she understood quickly, but it will be very difficult to explain Bitcoin to people whose wives are not very educated.

I will not gift bitcoins to my wife, as her partner what is mine is hers too, so there is no need gifting bitcoins to her to keep when I can keep it by myself for both of us and the family. I will expose my wife to the knowledge of something called bitcoins and teach her about it first, teach her the importance of hodling and the strategy to accumulate bitcoins so she can start DCAing from whatever she earns too.

Bitcoin is valuable, but while my wife has little or no knowledge about bitcoins, other gifts that women like such as jewelry, bags, cash gift, hairs etc. will be more appreciated.

I gave him half of the investment as per my word. He is very happy to get Bitcoin.
I'm sure your wife won't be happy reading that you addressed her with that pronoun, except she's mixed because you also used "she" in this same post. Once is an error but twice means something else. "You gerrit?"

Moving forward, your intention of gifting your better half what's yours isn't a bad idea provided it's also what you can afford to lose. We've seen where people give and then regret giving. I hope it won't be the case here.

Congratulations on your new status. Happy married life. Enjoy!

Congratulations on your happiness, I can feel what you are feeling right now because I am also married and have a son.
You don't need to be tired of convincing your wife if she has heard about Bitcoin before, what you need to do now is teach her how to store Bitcoin safely after a gift from you has been received.

Every time I post to reach the weekly quota for the campaign I'm currently participating in, my wife very often sees me and accompanies me. He also understands how valuable Bitcoin is and wants me to collect more Bitcoin after he knows the price of Bitcoin can continue to rise over time. He asked me to install a Bitcoin wallet on his smartphone and asked me to send Bitcoin to his wallet. Even though I never gave him a gift in the form of Bitcoin, I did the same thing as you did.

I don't have a wife yet, so I can't answer your question but if I do get a wife I would let her know about my Bitcoin holdings. However, I would keep my Bitcoin securely stored for myself because I don't trust anyone else to maintain the same level of security as I currently do. So essentially I'd share all the information with her and gradually teach her how to use Bitcoin and how to keep it secure. I'd also inform her where I store my seed phrase when I'm ready to.

Actually it's really risky to do that and it's advisable to share your Bitcoin seed phrase only with a person you trust the most, someone you are sure that won't attempt to steal your funds. Alternatively, you might opt to keep the seed phrase entirely to yourself to avoid getting your money stolen.

I think I have seen something similar and I will give the same advice, but first of all, congratulations to you on your wedding adding and gifting your wife Bitcoin is one of the biggest achievements, and like they say during weddings two have become one but now back to my point girls are not to be trusted these days and you have to becare what decision you take in your finance I have seen different situations that after DNA the children are not even for the husband, so in situations like this you have to be very careful, just a piece of advice but still be very care there is always surprises on the way. wow, I smell love in the air with all the gifts you have given to her when are meant to be cherished.

Thanks
Let's even give him the benefit of the doubt that is true since very much possible, and he does not want to give too many details about the issue of privacy, if he had shown more details for clarity even if I didn't really like the idea because its difficult to trust women this days. me I don't even want to see the evidence but am concern about the asset but since its a gift is his money so he can decide what to do with it.

First of all I have to congratulate you on your accomplishments, is more like a mission accomplished because is really hard to find men who keep to there words.
Getting married to a woman who has ideas about Bitcoin but never said anything to you is just surprising to me, you did very well to still share the knowledge you have with her, at this point she's now exposed into the crypto world, at least she doesn't need to go pay for any seminar.
The gift you give to any girl depend on who's receiving it, some girls don't have time to associate themselves with what they don't know how to manage no matter how hard you try to bring them into the light, I'd say you're luck you have someone who knows and appreciate what is given to her, send my regards OP.
As for teaching a wife/husband I think when I get their I'll cross that bridge 😁.

Is she really a wife and not a husband? Or maybe roles in your family tend to change?  :)

My wife plans to hold bitcoin for a long time.
Of course. Now she has a sponsor who will resolve all financial issues. Why spend a bitcoin, right.

Now you can say it is better to give girls gold jewelery than bitcoins. I have given gold ornaments to my wife as per her wish. Have any of you managed to teach your wife Bitcoin? Have any of you gifted bitcoin to a wife like me?
Don't pay attention to my foolish jokes above and don't take this seriously.

Perhaps, with the bitcoin mass popularization, women will want bitcoin rather than diamonds or jewelry. But the proportion of such women will be small. Because this requires some skills in owning, storing and using cryptocurrencies, which, although not something super complicated, is not possible without it. It will always be easier for women to accept gifts in the form of cars, real estate, iphones, precious stones or just money. I am sure that only a few will study the topic of cryptocurrencies. Don't believe me? Count the number of female accounts on this forum.

Respectfully, I would not have given my wife half of my bitcoin investment. What I would have done will be to teach her about Bitcoin and when I feel that she is ready enough I would let her know about my seed phrase. We both would own the wallet and have a plan to keep investing in it. What I feel that having a separate wallet from your wife is just cumbersome one wallet for the family is okay as long as both the husband and wife are on the same page.

It's good as to be gifted bitcoin because a man have endurance and patient for its bitcoin to stay long-term without tampering the bitcoin..my question is that will a woman exercise a patients to allow its bitcoin to spend much time without exchanging in exchange to get fiat currency for enjoyment.

I got married a few days ago. First I gave my wife all the ideas about Bitcoin. I was surprised to hear my wife, as soon as I told my wife about Bitcoin, she said that she had heard the name of Bitcoin before.
Nobody on earth who uses Internet especially social media that will not heard of bitcoin, because twitter, telegram, Facebook and Instagram many bitcoin influencers are there to promote bitcoin and likewise other coins, when your wife said that she had the knowledge of bitcoin I will not be surprised of it and it, many women invest into bitcoin but the problem is that they sell on panic due to little information they heard  of bitcoin.

Teaching your wife Bitcoin is as same Teaching your children bitcoin, most married people most at times husbands will try to transfer the knowledge of bitcoin to wife but some wives will not take it serious, but any woman that is interested to learn bitcoin I will advice us to teach the woman bitcoin in case of demise of human creature tomorrow, since you wife have the knowledge already the will find it very easy to import the demised person bitcoin through the seed phrase..but a process whereby your wife and children doesn't know of bitcoin, its obvious nobody will have access to bitcoin even the seed phrase is on your table they will not know the functions and applications of the seed phrase. In summary its good to teach your partner what you do.

I have given gold ornaments to my wife as per her wish. Have any of you managed to teach your wife Bitcoin? Have any of you gifted bitcoin to a wife like me?
I have no wife yet, but I wish to teach him about BTC, if she is interested then I might also gift her some BTC as motivation but you know, marriage is not all about money, so some girls find it not right, if you just start to teach them about finance in the early days, after marriage. The best practice, I think is, to not talk with them about the financial status of the house and what you do, and how you make money especially never telling them the exact amount, of how much you earn.

I might not be married, but I lived long enough, to learn this thing, and it is in the favor of every male and female.

Given the worldwide nature of cryptocurrency, its surprising that so many are uneducated, and women are further disadvantaged owing to traditional preconceptions. As you noted, discussing Bitcoin with loved ones, especially spouses, is vital. We increase their knowledge and Bitcoin's popularity by doing so.

However, I want to address the problem: the idea that education directly affects Bitcoin understanding. This idea is wrong. Bitcoin, like any concept, can be described simply. Thus, information presentation matters more than your wife's education. Gifting Bitcoin as a more valuable gift than gold is profound, but comprehension and acceptance are the true challenges.

Good luck to you. Actually I am not married yet. I am very happy to see the implementation of your plan. Half of your fund is to be gifted to your wife and she is holding for a long time. I want to introduce all crypto to my wife after marriage, if my wife doesn't know about crypto. I think Bitcoin futures will yield the most profit if invested for the long term. Not all girls gravitate towards crypto, though. If you teach well, you will progress towards it and do good things.

When it comes to knowledge, it is all about curiosity. Gender have nothing to do with it. If a curious mind decides to search for a thing then it will acquire that knowledge. I am amazed that you think a girl won't know about Bitcoin. If they have the will to learn then of course they will know. The number of women investor in Bitcoin platform is growing every day. And it may surpass the number of men one day.
All that aside, congratulations on your wedding. Wish you a very happy life.

Ah, man that's why they say that love is blind but I'm happy to see that you have completed your promise. These days girls are more smart than boys and they know about everything. Bitcoin isn't any hidden secret as information about it is available everywhere, and that's the reason she knew about it when you told her about it. We have Bitcoin on media, social media, and everyone has been talking about it these days and when halving event gets closer more people will learn about it via social media and TV channels.

You gave her half of your investment which's really something new to hear from a Bitcoin investor. It's really hard to share your Bitcoin investment with anyone and even people don't share about it with their partner but you have taken a good step and I really appreciate your efforts. It's also nice to know that your wife think similar to other Bitcoin investors as holding is the key for Bitcoin investors because each halving event adds value into Bitcoin. I'm not married yet but when I get married then surely I'll try to discuss about Bitcoin with my wife and maybe I share some of my holdings with her.

I don’t understand why you should do this if your wife (like any other wife) will still end up with “half” of everything you have.:)
Haha, I think you were keeping an eye on the BTC of the OP, or you were planning to be his wife. Well, either way, even if you are joking, I am also confused about why the OP wanted to bring his wife into BTC, because I have this mentality that, if you have the opportunity, then do not bring your loved ones into the same field; you are working.

It may be called the diversification of skills by your loved ones. It will be beneficial when one skill is deranked by the economy's s situation, a then another skilled person could run the home. At least I can provide some support.

I am saying this based on the practical experience I have faced. And I will recommend everyone do the same. I don't know if the OP is planning to do more for the wife in the crypto field. But if he is, then he should think for a second, because he doesn't want BTC to be a reason for fights among them.

A newlywed couple, the bride and the groom, have to accept each other's choice, whether they love it or not. So how can the OP say that his wife accepts his choice just because she doesn't want him to feel sad?

Overall, it is really a good thing for a husband to think for his wife. I mean, in today's world, many husbands want their wives to be dependent on them. I don't know about your culture, so talk universally. And those husbands cannot see their wives making more than them. So, they do not avail themselves of the opportunity. And I have seen such cases, but you, dear OP, are doing great work. Keep it up. And please don't mind my skeptical questions above.

First of all I want to congratulate you on your marriage. Anyway, your case is really interesting. I don't think that the women of this region understand this bitcoin issue so easily. Because I myself took a long time to convince my wife, maybe I was lacking in any convincing method. Earlier, when I said to invest here, her answer was that there is no need to take these risks. But lately, I have seen a little interest in her to invest in Bitcoin, maybe because I have been saying the same thing repeatedly in front of him for so long, that's why he has a good idea about the privacy and security of Bitcoin. So in this case you are quietly lucky.
Although the era has changed, women are still leaning in many places. Anyway, you have given half of your investment fund to your wife as a gift, now your first task will be to teach her how to maintain this fund. Otherwise, it may be the case that she can't drive, yet you put her in the driver's seat.

I have never heard such incident where a husband gifting his wife bitcoin after marriage. It's a different story what you did. Congratulation you for doing such an experiment. If your wife has a good knowledge of bitcoins then she will be very happy to get those bitcoins and if she is not very well informed then she will not be so happy. Because she will not understand anything except some numbers in digital figure. But nowadays almost everyone knows more and less about Bitcoin. They must consider it as one of their most valuable assets. Some would consider Bitcoin better than an ornament made of gold. Above all Bitcoin has now become a good gift too. Hopefully Bitcoin will reach every level of society within shortest possible of time.

Which do you emphasize in the lesson, bitcoin as an investment asset or electronic payments?
More women think very calculatingly about the growth of values where they are more easily interested, but if the opposite happens then they are also easy to blame the person who taught them.

I have decided not to educate my wife in bitcoin education, we will have a happy family with the amount of bitcoins I have learned and started earning. My wife knows about my investment and she knows some theory behind bitcoin but she's not using it. I told her how much it's worth and she's afraid to break something.
She has emergency access to my funds but treats it a bit like some of the tools that I have, or the breaker box. When something needs fixing she calls me and doesn't touch electric stuff and my bitcoin wallets.

It will be generous enough for your wife if you educate him about basic financial terms. Show him the difference between assets and liabilities with an example and tell him why it is important to invest in assets instead of keeping them in the bank. Also tell him how inflation is eating our wealth and how we can fight it. These are some important topics we should discuss with our close one and if they are wise enough they will figure out about bitcoin soon enough.

You think, you do the right thing by promising your wife BTC and fulfilled the promise by given her BTC, what if she now prefer to receive BTC from you for food items, children school fees, house rent and her body maintenance. You know once women understand BTC very well and how it works, it will be very difficult to tell such woman to sell her BTC to make all those things available for the family to enjoy, and such thing can lead to break up, and the woman will never regret leaving the family because she have achieved something that will make her live a good life with another man. Not that am against the love you showed to your wife OP,  just that I understand women very well in the area of money and anything can happen that will make the woman not to respect you the way she respected you during the relationship.

I just read you and remembered that someone had mentioned something similar, thanks by remember.
(You did well to place the source)

Surely it is something cultural and/or legal, in some countries both things, in my region everything I have half of is my wife's, without " kick each other" (50/50), and it is like that until; "... hte peace... ".  ;)

I think that in the case of a separation, if bitcoin was down, my wife will have no problem leaving them, if they are pump, she'll keep them...

In our case, it is a topic of conversation where sometimes she brings it up, sometimes I bring it up, it is nice to share that financial jargon related to crypto with my wife, for now while we are happy...  :)/ ;)

Congratulations on your marriage and starting a family with the ideal of bitcoin in both of your thoughts.

I thought it would be very difficult to convince girls.

Looks like you underestimate girls. We are not that stupid. ;)

I haven't given any bitcoin as gifts to other people, nor have I received it.
Men prefer to give women things they can parade them in, like clothes and jewelry. It's like they have a doll that increases their own position when it looks good, so they make sure it looks and smells good.
I'd rather get bitcoin, but I'm not a materialist. I can do with gifts that show the partner thinks of you. A simple flower, or a ticket to a movie or a concert is sometimes the greatest gift.

Congratulations for fulfilling your bitcoin promise to your wife and also making her to understand bitcoin and to have interest in bitcoin.  It is not easy to convince adults who don't know about bitcoin to have interest in it. I haven't planned to give bitcoin as gift to my partner because I haven't really seen any interest of bitcoin in her. If I forced myself to give her as gift it may not be of good value to her because I haven't seen bitcoin interesting to her. I just hope someday my partner will have so much interest in bitcoin which will make me to give her bitcoin as a surprise gift. I just hope my partner will pick interest in bitcoin because sometimes I do discuss the benefits of bitcoin with her.

My poor man, how do you have a wife but not any notion of the mind of women?  ::) They don't want monetary value but rather emotional value in itself, which can be represented in many forms. But what we take for granted is that the main form is always physical. Even if just a promise, it will physically manifest on the day of the promise, anyway. Bitcoin is just money which you cannot touch or do anything with, physically. To women this might seem like a lazy gift that you did not put any mind into.

They would rather see that you worked hard for the gift (in a romantic way). And of course it would be better if the gift was something that nobody else has and of course, must be shiny and pretty.

Thats it, really.

Women love different gifts. And you both gave your wife information about Bitcoin and gave her Bitcoin as a gift. She is truly a lucky woman. I have witnessed before that women save their investments for the long term. That's why I think you will enjoy the advantage of owning Bitcoin both for investment and for your future.

Classic gifts can become very cliché now. This gift is far from the cliché and is a different gift. Maybe this way, your spouse will also start investing in Bitcoin and after a while, the true value of this gift will be realized.

I wish you happiness :)

First of all which i would like to say or to tell about congratulations my friend. Welcome to the married life!  ;D

Next, it is really that good to see that you are really that sticking into your words and this how plans should really be made and this should how things needs to be done.
When the time comes that you do get married then everything would really becoming that conjugal on which it is really just that normal. Teaching up Bitcoin on neither boy or girl
man or woman or in different genders wont really be that challenging as long the other party would really be having that kind of interest. Things turns out to be that hard on the time that they
wont really be that interested in the first place on which we know that there are people who do welcome new ideas and there are ones who arent.

This is why it wont really be that so shocking that neither it would really be that easy or not. So it would really vary on case to case basis since not all would really
be able to make out some smooth introduction when talking about Bitcoin into other people.

For me, gifting my wife with bitcoin is not necessary at all, because what's also mine is also hers, and what's hers is also mine. The moment we got married, everything becomes a conjugal property for both of us. And because of that, my wife is definitely aware with all my bitcoin investments, and I'm also starting to educate her about bitcoin and all its related stuffs so that when unseen incidents happen, my wife will be there to continue managing our investments without hassling other people to help her.

However, its also your own decision to gift your wife with bitcoin, and I can say that it's more than valuable than gold or any other investments. That way, she can also be motivated to learn on how she'll manage her bitcoins so that what you have gifted will not end up in a loss. And while you're still here, then it's also your responsibility to educate her and guide her as well so that whatever you have learned about bitcoin, she can also gained it from you.

Whether it is better or not depends on your partners wants and appreciation.  If you give her Bitcoin and she likes gold jewelry more, it won't make her as happy as when you give her gold jewelry.

I have given gold ornaments to my wife as per her wish. Have any of you managed to teach your wife Bitcoin? Have any of you gifted bitcoin to a wife like me?

I do not have wife but I do inform my gf about Bitcoin.  So answer for me is no.

It is not hard to convince girls to invest in bitcoin or to even have it for free, the younger generation are explorers and are always open to opportunities, most especially one they know presents before the chances of making money, almost every one I've ever spoken to had interest to invest in bitcoin but after learning about the possible risk associated with this, some of them become skeptical, but even amid this fear, all of them will joyfully and happily accepts a bitcoin gift which is for free.

First, let me say congratulations on your marriage, and I am actually wondering why you did not show us pictures, but this by the way.

For me though, I have not gifted my wife bitcoin because I see no need to, my wife and i are one, what is mine is hers too, my bitcoin is hers so what's the need gifting something that is hers to her?, I am a better hodler and I will hold the bitcoin for both us.

My wife knew that before we met, I was already in the bitcoin industry; she didn't even understand what I was doing here, but she let me do what I was doing here. In short, she supports me at the same time.

Because she sees that this has been my source of income from the very beginning. Then she also witnessed how effective it is in helping us financially. Although she said she heard about this bitcoin before from her previous employer, who is said to be buying and holding it as well,

Firstly I want to say congratulations to you on your home and I pray that your home be blessed with peace, love and understanding. We already have a lot of women in the industry who are doing extremely very well and is no news or a big deal if your wife have already heard of it except she isn’t digitally inclined.
Gifting your wife bitcoin is a great choice of gift and I think you have a lot of work to also do as to get her properly educated in the task of safety and maximizing profit and since is a gift, you should make sure she’s making good use of it and the safety of her coins is assured as there are already a lot of risk out there on the net.

Good luck to you both and I hope you have all the best rides with bitcoin.

First of all, congratulations on your marriage. secondly, congratulations on deciding something quite extraordinary and trusting your wife by giving her Bitcoin. I won't ask why you are so confident about giving it because you definitely know better. Next is what you have to do. That is, you must continue to share information and knowledge with your beloved wife, so that she will understand much more about Bitcoin, its ups and downs, and how much it is worth. Not only that, you also have to continue to guide and strengthen it because Bitcoin's condition is very volatile, it doesn't rule out the possibility that your wife will be shocked and depressed because suddenly the value of Bitcoin decreases in dollar conversion.

Congrats OP for your marriage. Technically you didn't give your wife the half of your bitcoin investment, even if you provided her own wallet and transfer the half of it. The bitcoin investment you have now is owned by both of you, you get united to her and you together become one. I love how she opened her ears listening to your story about bitcoin, I know most of women will not do the same. I hope I get to that point where my spouse get to talk things about crypto  ;D

Op you making it seem as if bitcoin is mainly meant for male genders alone, bitcoin is just another form of money in digital form and money is not gender centric. Anyone can be interested and adopt bitcoin depending on how it was introduced to them.
I am not married yet, am still in the middle of it all and I don't think I have plans on gifting my wife bitcoin and I have my personal reasons for that. Hope it's cool I refer to your new home as a BTC home. ;D

All I can say to the married women who support what they are doing here in the Bitcoin business is that they are lucky, because for sure they will not have a hard time explaining it because it is also for the future of your husband and children.

Then that's how it should be for two married couples to support and work together. Especially if your wife can see that it really helps, right? In addition to that, this Bitcoin or crypto can really provide profit as long as you are using the right strategy here.

So so sudden! Gifting someone Especially your wife a Bitcoin isn't worth boosting of gifting treasures to be publicly proud about if you are not ready to further tell us how much profits you makes.
And gifting your wife a half of your Bitcoin investment is never a good idea because if there goes s lost such as missing the appropriate trading strategies and security factors, that could be a lost count nomatter how high or low value it maybe.
However, if she must be part of you as a Bitcoin investor, it is advisable she purchase the Bitcoin by herself (personal capital) so she would realize the Worth and then trade with consciousness and it would be advisable if she starts up with a minimum of tolerable amount and not such a half of your investment.

Or probably I should take all these of you for a demo as possibility thought existing in the brain of the imaginary world?

Have any of you managed to teach your wife Bitcoin? Have any of you gifted bitcoin to a wife like me?
No, but I introduced it to her already, and if she wants to invest into Bitcoin, she has her own money. She can use that to buy Bitcoins.

TBH, I don't see any interest in her with regards to Bitcoins. Hard truth yes, but I don't want to push her into something that she doesn't want to in the first place. I guess what's important is that she knows the term Bitcoin, and at least some of the basics of it like how the price moves, how to send, and receive etc. As to me gifting my Bitcoin to her, I don't need to because if time comes that we will be married together, what's mine is also hers already, and that includes all of my assets including my Bitcoins. I don't need to gift it to because it will also be hers by the time we are married already.

You gifting your Bitcoins to your wife is kind of irrelevant for me because if you will look at it, the Bitcoin that you gave to her will technically be yours since there's a term called "conjugal property". Correct me though.

Some ladies are materialistic and would opt for a gold necklace, earrings or a car on a very special day like this. It's a good thing that she's interested in the idea of holding Bitcoin and I hope you've also educated her about wallet security so that she will not lose it.

Have any of you managed to teach your wife Bitcoin? Have any of you gifted bitcoin to a wife like me?
I do hope to educate my spouse about bitcoin and not just my her but my kids and I hope they will be interested. Bitcoin is a future inheritance I'd like to leave with my family, so it's very important that they have an idea of the priced possession they are holding.

I can't help but wonder why you didn't try introducing Bitcoin to her months ago. My partner has limited knowledge and experience with Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. In fact, we are both here in the forum, although she's not very active. Recently, I initiated a discussion with her regarding Bitcoin investments and savings.

I'm quite confident that the Bitcoin gift to your wife is something she will be happy to have. Congratulations on your marriage, and best wishes!

It's really a good sign since you have fulfilled your promise, if your wife has an easy understanding of Bitcoin, it's good. If your wife is better educated about Bitcoin she may understand and gain knowledge better. Since you fulfilled your wife's wish and gave gold pride and also gave bitcoins as a gift, I think it's the best unique job. I'm not married yet so I have no idea and can't tell if it would be possible to teach my wife about Bitcoin. As I am not married yet, I don't have a wife and no one to give bitcoins to, so I will do this plan when I get married.  :D

Anyway, we already have another story in this section that makes me doubt whether it is invented, typically to get merits, or not. As I can't verify it, I will give the OP the benefit of the doubt, but in this case it would be good to know what amount we are talking about and what part of the net worth it represents, because it is not the same to have given her 0.001 Bitcoin and that is a small part of your net worth than to give her 0.5 and that is exactly 50% of your net worth.

On the other hand, to make it right, when you get married, it would not even be necessary to give it to her, because everything would belong to both of you, but this depends on the country and the legal regime, if you marry in community of property or separation of property, things like that.

In any case, I would appreciate more specifics in this regard.

Even though I haven't married a woman yet, I do have a slight desire to someday share with my future wife what I've been doing to sustain myself, and one of those things is Bitcoin. I won't compel her to learn about Bitcoin, but I would be delighted if she were to express her own interest in learning how to use it.

If she proves capable of managing Bitcoin and keeping it secure, it's not out of the realm of possibility that I may consider sharing some of my Bitcoin with her. Beyond understanding how to use Bitcoin, what's equally important is the fact that many people use it to generate income. If she shows interest, I'll do my best to share what I've learned so far, as Bitcoin has indeed played a significant role in keeping me afloat until now.

You clearly know how important investments are and how complicated Bitcoin is, especially when it comes to the risks. Giving away an asset that changes value so quickly like Bitcoin is a real worry. You made a good point when you said that losses can be big if there isn't a plan or protection. I agree with what you said—investments shouldn't just be given away; they need to be understood and a pledge made. She should know how much her assets are worth and have the information to become an investor, if your wife wants to do that.

But here's an important point: owning Bitcoin isn't just about the money; it's also about having the power to make decisions. She can learn the ropes without losing a lot of money if she starts with a smaller, more manageable amount. You're probably crossing lines when you ask for proof and doubt the sincerity of such actions. It might be time to think again about what's more important: Bitcoin's value or the trust that goes into it?

Yes, I taught my wife everything about cryptocurrency but I did not gift them bitcoins, instead I gave all my assets to her to hold because she is the person I trust and trust the most. I do it not only because we trust each other, but because in case something unexpected happens to me, that asset will have an heir and use it instead of disappearing with me.

Regarding gifts for my wife, I will give her anything she wants, not just bitcoin or my assets, I will buy if she wants anything and it is within my financial ability.

Congrats on your married and welcome to the world of a married man.
Now, that's pretty rare and interesting gift, however that bitcoin are still owned by both of you as it will be a conjugal property. Everything you and your wife have established will become a shared property between the both of you.
The good thing about is, you have your wife educated about how bitcoin works and how to secure one. That's one of the most important thing for inheritance purposes.
Now, talking about the best gift for your wife after your marriage is not actually a material thing or a loads of wealth, but being a faithful husband is the best gift to your wife all throughout your marriage life.

congratulations on your wedding, and I'm also happy when your wife likes the gift you gave. After all, you are giving something very useful, especially if he likes it. bitcoin is an investment, and so he will probably learn about bitcoin and learn about the investment. It's really nice when our partner really supports the work or hobby we are pursuing. even more so when he has an interest in it. Actually, I'm not married yet, but when I get married, I will probably try to teach my partner about bitcoin and the crypto world.

Congrats on your married and welcome to the world of a married man.
Now, that's pretty rare and interesting gift, however that bitcoin are still owned by both of you as it will be a conjugal property. Everything you and your wife have established will become a shared property between the both of you.
The good thing about is, you have your wife educated about how bitcoin works and how to secure one. That's one of the most important thing for inheritance purposes.
Now, talking about the best gift for your wife after your marriage is not actually a material thing or a loads of wealth, but being a faithful husband is the best gift to your wife all throughout your marriage life.
GREAT INITIATIVE, If every man gift his wife with Bitcoin like this then Bitcoin can grow much more from its current state because if Bitcoin is gifted for marriage then no one will want to give up that gift easily. Very likely they will keep it as a companion for a long time. As a result, a good news for those wives is that they are going to own a large wealth in the long run. And I would say to the OP that if your wife has little idea about bitcoin, definitely educate her better so that she can be more interested in bitcoin and fully appreciate your gift.

That's a positive thing but it's not easy to convince women. I've tried but failed and there were even some of my sisters who weren't interested in keeping Bitcoin, they actually persuaded me to sell it immediately and recommended investing in real estate, but I think The recommendation is reasonable because they have no knowledge of Bitcoin so there is no trust.
However, I really hope that one day I can invite someone/my life partner to be able to save/invest in Bitcoin together and grow my trust in them like I believe.

I can only congratulate the OP, he can now live happier with a wife who has the same goals and they will most likely make quite large profits in the future from the Bitcoins they save together.

Even men like us have this and that, there will be people who like bitcoin, but there will be people who don't like bitcoin. So convincing a wife or woman will be more difficult, not as easy as what we are saying. But if you have a family, you should at least try teaching bitcoin to your spouse, if they like bitcoin as much as we do, that's actually a much better thing. But we shouldn't force them if they don't like it, let's respect each other's decisions.

I once, gave my brother some Bitcoin for his birthday... but he was not very interested. I printed a Paper Wallet and I transferred some Bitcoin to it and gave it to him for his birthday.

I monitored the Bitcoin address for a few months and I saw he transferred it to a local exchange, so I asked him and he confirmed that he needed some money... so he converted it to cash.. and used it.  :(

No, I did not gift Bitcoin to my wife, and she does not even bother about it. She knows I have Bitcoins but is not interested in learning how it works. Even though she knows my wallet password, she doesn't know how to send it or which one is the address. Now, I should teach her more about it.

She already knows about Bitcoin, but only knowing about Bitcoin doesn't help. If someone wants to use Bitcoin, they should have practical knowledge of how to do transactions and how not to get tricked by others.

That is the sad truth about bitcoin as a present. And that is probably how most of such stories end. Because when people get a present, they expect at least to use it. People dont get excited much about bitcoin as a present (if they arent crypto enthusiasts like most of us), because for them it is like receiving a vase, or a tea-set, or bed sheets or a towel with goofy or classic print. People cant share excitement of this present to other. It looks following: "my friend, husband gave me something as a present, I can not show it  and I will just keep it until time comes". Other wont understand that.

I can teach my wife about Bitcoin, but I can't gift Bitcoin. Because I will teach bitcoin and give ideas about investing and the idea will get my wife interested and she will start investing. And if I help him with Bitcoin, I'll think that I didn't pique his interest with the idea of Bitcoin.

Because I think the bitcoin gift you gave to your wife is wrong in my opinion. Because if you give him idea about bitcoin.(you give some small money to your wife) surely he will start investing with small amount of money. And investing in DCA method can be invested with any amount of assets.
Then I understand that you got your wife properly interested in Bitcoin and got the right education.

It is a really good idea for anyone who understand about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general will love to do. Bitcoin is a wonderful gift for anyone who understands its benefits.it's fantastic idea for you to let your wife understand Bitcoin and now both of you are aware of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general. These days, there are some people who don't want their spouse to know about the business or investment they are involved in. In my opinion, this is a very bad idea because it could be very difficult to take over the business or investment after the other partner passes away.

Current I am not married, but I will also wish to give my wife some amount of Bitcoin as a gift when I got married. It will be so lovely to see my wife holding Bitcoin too.but I wish I had an understanding wife who will easily learn about Bitcoin, because without that, it will be hard to give her Bitcoin as a gift despite how interested i may be to give her that great gift.

If she is truly passionate about bitcoin, even if you give her some bitcoin, will that amount be enough for her to stop accumulating it? Just like you, how much bitcoin is enough for you, or if given the opportunity, would you hold as much as possible? Teaching your wife bitcoin is a good thing, but it has nothing to do with you gifting her bitcoin. Because it is considered a gift for an important event. OP didn't give gold or other gifts but instead gave bitcoin to his wife, so there's nothing wrong. It even fueled her desire to accumulate more bitcoin because she saw its true potential.

I am wondering how much asset in crypto that we are talking here? because if this is a big amount then you already made a big mistake because you are just newly wed and that amount is what you have gather when you are still single so preferably that is yours alone.
now that you shared it with your wife and by sadden that you got separated?
then you have no power against her to take it back.
Will never do this if I were you though i may consider once you already have a children and also  been married for long so yeah I trust her about the funds but of course not equally like what you did.

this is what we get from those people that truly not understand what bitcoin is all about and also how valuable it is for long term.
sad to hear this from you mate .

Why do you think it will be difficult to conceive a girl child about a boy over a male child? Don't be surprised that your wife might have even had enough knowledge about bitcoin—even more than you think you know about it. I actually don't like it when someone belittles a gender or bases their knowledge on a particular one. I believe anyone who has access to the internet can learn and know anything, irrespective of their gender. That's it, by the way.

It's good that you first decided to teach her how to use what you want to give her as a gift, so as to make things easier for her to use when she lays her hands on those bitcoins.

Another good thing is that you are starting a family with her, which, given her part of your wealth, is also not bad as it will also be put to good use by her, as it's proven that most women know much more about managing wealth and expanding it than men in most cases.

Congratulations on your new married life! It's good to start a new home with someone you love.

And not like ten people because most of the girls are weak towards gold jewelry they are very happy if you give them gold but your wife chose Bitcoin. I never thought that I would give bitcoin to my wife as she has no idea about bitcoin before. She has a little idea from me. In the future, I will try to use this idea to see if Bitcoin can be gifted on his birthday.

I think because there might be a reason behind it, like you guys doesn't afford to invest or in other words she doesn't want to risk your money. But after realizing the benefits after telling her, then maybe she tried on her own so she could do what you do. Just try to communicate more and be open to each other. I hope she doesn't take it badly as an experience in investing at Bitcoin. And convince her in a way she doesn't feel pressured or forced, cause if you invest with these kind of feelings, it might lead to bad calls and unwise decision making.

I myself am not married, but just like you, I will probably provide education about Bitcoin to my wife and my family because I think it is the best investment decision I can possibly take and hold it for the long term.

You should atleast be glad that she tried. I only assumed that maybe there is miscommunication on you too and thats may be the reason why she didnt tell you she invested to some coins. When you want someone to di something big, like investing in bitcoin, you have to trust them. Trust that they can do it instead of doubting them. Anyway, thats how marriage should work right? I also entrust everything important regarding my crypto assets to my wife, even if she is not in the market with me. I trust my wife because she will be responsible for our child's future if I encounter any unexpected problems. I don't find it too serious, but I still see many people who don't want to do it because they don't trust their wives and consider money more valuable than love as husband and wife or their children's future. Money, bitcoin are very important but they are nothing compared to many other things like my wife or children.

This is the first time I have heard of such an incident. It's great that your wife understood bitcoin so easily. Because it is very difficult for girls to understand something like that, bitcoin is an imaginary asset. Because no one can actually touch it. For which it is very difficult to make everyone believe in it. But I will tell you that besides Bitcoin, all aspects of the family should be kept in order. There is no need to invest your necessary money and give the share to your wife.

Have any of you managed to teach your wife Bitcoin?
So far I have never taught my wife about bitcoin in depth. But what is clear is that my wife knows that I am a bitcoin investor and I only taught her about the benefits of investing in bitcoin. As well as about the potential of bitcoin in the future and also about the use of bitcoin which can be an alternative for sending money between countries at low costs. In my personal opinion, for now, giving my wife that level of Bitcoin knowledge is enough. Because my wife's job is only to take care of me and my family. So basically my wife will definitely focus on that. But in the future I will also definitely teach my wife about wallets, but that will be later and not in the near future.

Have any of you gifted bitcoin to a wife like me?
When I got married, as usual, I only gave gold jewelry to my wife. Moreover, when I got married, I had not yet entered the world of crypto or bitcoin. So you could say that at that time I didn't really understand Bitcoin and only had limited knowledge about Bitcoin. That's why when I got married, I didn't think about gifting bitcoins to my wife. But even so, now that I am married, more or less my wife has tasted the money I earn from bitcoin. Even though it's not much, I think it's something I should be proud of. Because for greater rewards, I am still waiting for the results of my Bitcoin investment so that it can be sold at the price I hope for in the next bull market.

I don't have that much of the Bitcoin to give to my wife. Why don't I trade it when I give it to my wife she will sell it immediately. And I think also did you ask your wife What she will do with the Bitcoin? Or has she ever asked you to give Bitcoin? Or this is your own choice? But I don't think my wife will ever ask me this type of thing to give her, she only tells me to give her jewelry-type things but not things like crypto that have online prices.
I haven't got married yet and am not thinking of marrying now because in our society people will marry after they get some jobs and they get too old. Also, this type of gift can't think a wife will ask his husband. What do you think about it? Although wish you the best of luck for you and your wife after marriage a good life.

You may have missed what he said, he mentioned that his wife is planning to hold bitcoin long term, she has no intention of selling it anytime soon. Furthermore, this was their wedding gift to each other, she never asked OP to give her bitcoin.
If you are not married, you will not understand what married life is like, so it is difficult to talk about it. Most women prefer gold or expensive jewelry, but not everyone chooses gold over bitcoin. My wife also chose bitcoin and even told me to create a bitcoin savings account for our child instead of gold after she learned about its value and future potential.

Don't be too hasty in making decisions, although there is no harm in giving gifts to your wife because she has your rights and obligations both physically and mentally. Just try to enjoy the wedding atmosphere, after all, based on experience, marriage is a long journey that takes everything. You're still new and the atmosphere should be fun. Bitcoin is a very important future asset, therefore it is better to save it so that both of your dreams come true. Maybe in the future it will be for your children's future, school fees, building your dream house and going on holiday, because after marriage you will be faced with many needs, therefore make sure your basic needs are met and your assets, especially Bitcoin, are not disturbed.

For those who have just gotten married, they will really feel happy and willing to give whatever they want to their partner and if we choose to give a Bitcoin gift to our partner, does he understand how to use it and if he doesn't understand then we need to guide him first? so that the gifts we give can be looked after or used well. You are right, if you have some Bitcoins that you will give to your partner, this will certainly make him happy and this can be used for purposes when you are just building a marriage relationship.

Nice one, I think we both think the same, their is no need giving her bitcoin as gift because I and my wife can share the same bitcoin with me, what I just need to give is to make her gave more understanding or bitcoin and how to secure bitcoin, the both of us having the same bitcoin is good enough. No need to give her bitcoin which I know she will surely spend it to get jewelleries and cloth for herself, I think it is more preferable to give her fiat than giving her bitcoin that if I hodl it, it will bring more profit for me.

In my opinion, your wife should be aware of what you do for a career. And if you make Bitcoin-related content or job, chances are your wife is aware of it. However, not all wives are interested in Bitcoin; some only want a little notion that they might abandon later.

However, I'm thrilled that my fiance is eager to learn about cryptocurrencies because it will greatly benefit my crypto journey. I hope her interest is real and feel essential for her. As of now, I can only provide information about bitcoin, but I am hoping that in the near future I can give some.

Yes, totally depends on what up to their minds specially that most women doesnt really like on engaging on something on which they do look that it would be complicated or something that it is hard to deal with then they would really be just simply making some temporal engagement or talks but later on they would really be just dumping it out on which this is something a very common type of behavior with women. This is why it would really be just that right that if ever you are really that serious on letting your wife know on what Bitcoin is or crypto as a whole then educating her would be the first step but you would really be that noticing whether she do like or not on the time that you do explaining up on things. If you do really see that kind of interest then it would really be that best that you will feed her with those various informations even though it would be basic but at least she's really that learning or some good initial step that she might be considering on continuing but just like been said that it would matter most of the time about someones interest.

Giving some Bitcoin to your wife as a form of gift then it would really be that accepted considering that it does have value or simply being money then we know that women do love money  ;D
Its something that cant really be resisted or really be that ignored. Being married does really goes into that agreement about conjugal property on which it is really just that right
that she does have the right on the holdings that you do have.

Congratulation for your wedding. Make marriage the start of your life happily until you grow old together.

Good. You find a life partner who is unfamiliar with Bitcoin and it is the first convenience for you in planning your future plans on Bitcoin if your wife really understands Bitcoin well.

I gave him half of the investment as per my word. He is very happy to get Bitcoin. My wife plans to hold bitcoin for a long time. Now you can say it is better to give girls gold jewelery than bitcoins. I have given gold ornaments to my wife as per her wish.
Women in general are always attracted to valuable assets and one way to win their hearts is to give them jewelry that has gold value and other valuable jewelry.
It's not difficult to convince women and if we want to convince them about Bitcoin, I'm sure they will easily believe what we say.
Giving half the investment to your wife, in my opinion you have saved because human women are very economical compared to men.

Have any of you managed to teach your wife Bitcoin?
Many have succeeded, including me.

Have any of you gifted bitcoin to a wife like me?
Talented too because my wife is a smart woman.

My wife just talked to me about it and I'm just playing that I haven't heard it. I'm still contemplating if I'll teach her or not because she wants the most of my holdings to be hers.

I know that it's like a conjugal thing but I just want to keep it to myself first because it is going to serve as a surprise to her at the right time. But maybe teaching her the basics would do and will do the same thing of gifting her some mbtcs which will encourage her to hold it and have some more through her own accumulation.

I am contemplating because it could just be a decoy interest and it's all about her wanting to just cash out asap.  ;D

My girlfriend has been really receptive about bitcoin and crypto. She heard about the idea even before we met but never really paid attention to it since there's no need to (she was born in a pretty much well-off family), plus she's scared of making investments that would risk her money. She's eager about saving money though and I was able to convince her to try staking and yield farming cause APYs are always bigger than interest rates, which spells well for people who want to see their money grow while saving.

Most girls especially those that are really into you (like OP's wife for instance) will be receptive and accepting of whatever you tell them, especially if it's something that would benefit them in the long run. It's all a matter of just choosing the right partner and all that stuff.

First and foremost, I would like to congratulate you on your successful wedding. Keeping a promise to your wife and fulfilling it would have a bittersweet feeling for sure.

My sister got married February of last year to her long time fiancé. But before that, I gave her $100 worth of ETH that time and until now she is still holding it. She already knew about BTC than her husband and my brother-in-law and may consider buying some in the future when she's ready.

As for me, I remained single until today and likely having a girlfriend is not in my mind these days despite I'm in my mid-30s. There's a saying that in today's generation, 30s is the new 20s because of having a mindset about living the life to the fullest while we still can.

But just in case the day comes that I already have a "forever" in mine, I would not hesitate to educate her about Bitcoin regardless of what she thinks.

In my religion, Islam, there is an obligation called "Mehir". This obligation requires you to give your wife some valuable things before you get married. You cannot use it for yourself and it belongs only to your wife. It is like a guarantee in case something happens to you or if you go through a difficult time and you separate. This reminded me of that and I must congratulate you for doing something very nice. I suggest you do this not only for your wife but also for your children. That's one of the things I would like to do. That way I can create an investment for my children and my wife. And this kind of investment is as necessary and important as investment in education.

Providing education at the start will make your wife know about bitcoin, know about crypto and its technology, because education is the main guideline.

Your promise to give half of your investment is quite wise.
Maybe you only separate your wallet for your wife and your personal possessions. To hold it in the long term, it's best to use a hardware wallet for your wife and tell her that everything must be safe and don't let the private key be given or known to anyone else.

I agree that giving your wife a gift of bitcoin is good, but of course they should get the right education when receiving it. Generally, women who are not very updated about developments in the digital world will find it difficult to understand it well on the first day, but when it is taught frequently and they care about what is being taught, they will understand it well.

I didn't give my wife half of my investment, but I just told her how much I invested. He should be able to access my investment wallet without having to separate parts of it, which I think is safer. I taught him gradually, now it's much better.

Given how widely Bitcoin is discussed, young women are no longer unfamiliar with the term. The majority of women are aware of and have heard of investing in bitcoin. Many are already engaged in it and earning well from it.

Do you find it surprising that your wife was aware of bitcoin before you gave her half of your bitcoin investment? Women nowadays are aware of Bitcoin as an asset with potential value. Those who are aware of its potential value can happily accept it in place of a gold jewelry offer.

Both genders (male and female) can invest in bitcoin. At the same time as they are investing in it, both genders are also familiar with its basic knowledge. Bitcoin investment is no longer a sided investment tool meant for a particular gender(male)

Men or women have difficulty when first informed about Bitcoin.  A simple hands-on will make them understand how Bitcoin transaction works.  Knowledge of Bitcoin security needs to be learned which needs a bit more time.

You do not have to give your wife half of your investment because, in legal terms, your wife already owns half of it and you will be left with nothing if you give your wife another half.  ;D.  I know we, as husband loves to be generous to our partner but we should reserve some for ourselves.

I've taught my wife about bitcoin. Even I introduced her to our forum. She wasn't that good in technology, and she had well understood about the technology. She have got the eager to give a try and understand the perfect meaning of bitcoin and the technology behind it. However for some reason she wasn't able to buy bitcoin and give a try. She hadn't forgotten and once she makes little money she had plans to invest and understand well about bitcoin and cryptocurrency.

Want to gift your wife bitcoins instead of gold maybe some member already made a topic about this. If a member has already created a topic about this I think you should visit that post. If this same post is not posted then there are many related posts.

Girls are usually a bit more weak towards gold so when you want to give your wife bitcoins instead of gold your wife must be a bit surprised as you are giving a surprise but according to you she is not surprised at all but she already has an idea about bitcoins.
It won't be bad if you and your wife are gifted bitcoins.

Apart from gifting bitcoins, definitely suggest your wife to keep her bitcoins for a long time like a gold necklace. Best wishes to you and your wife.

Usually girls prefer to receive gold jewelries on their special day. But if she is interested and can easily understand Bitcoin (just like your wife) then that would be much better. Just like gold, Bitcoin is a good investment for long term. Therefore it's a wise idea to give your wife Bitcoin, unusual but worthy.

However, we know women have different interest. So before thinking of giving Bitcoin, might as well introduce Bitcoin first because that's how you'll know if she has interest or she prefer to receive girly things.

Anyway, congrats on your marriage.

You can gift bitcoin to my wife no problem but if you don't teach management or bitcoin management she won't be able to save bitcoin. And if someone can't store or manage Bitcoin then Bitcoin will be a risk factor for him. The most important thing is to teach your wife how to handle and store bitcoins properly before gifting bitcoins or after gifting bitcoins. As if he can manage and use it very well later on in your absence.
The OP mentioned here that he gifted bitcoins to his wife. And what when he told his wife about bitcoin his wife replied she knew about bitcoin before. And since he gifted Bitcoin to his wife, he might well have discussed the various aspects of Bitcoin and educated her. It is true that it is most important to know about Bitcoin and gain experience in all aspects otherwise one cannot hold Bitcoin. Moreover, knowing how to manage and how risky it is is also important to know about volatility in the market. If the OP can get his wife to develop good experience and skills in science, surely the bitcoins can continue to be transferred and traded in his absence. However, I see it as a good initiative because when you invest Bitcoin you should definitely tell someone close to you. Maybe he can enjoy those investments when you're gone.

I teach Her of course but never encouraged her to invest , instead i let her decide when, where and what to invest.
But lucky that her interest is truly amazing that she managed to do it herself , now she have deep understanding about crypto and even helping me sometimes to decide which coin to invest .
maybe your wife is a lucky women because you entrusted here half of your investment in cryptocurrency.

I think it is very difficult to show and explain the concept of Bitcoin to an uneducated person. This is because Bitcoin is a digital crypto currency that has no physical appearance. Educated people understand this very well, because they are aware of modern technology and the development of the world. While it is easy to explain Bitcoin to uneducated people, it is extremely difficult to get Bitcoin utility into their minds, because if the utility of gold is explained to any uneducated person.

So he will believe easily because he knows that the price of gold is always increasing. So how can such uneducated people believe Bitcoin about which they have never heard or seen?. Buying and selling Bitcoin and transaction is also not as easy as we buy or sell  gold. Therefore, the fear of loss without education increases a lot. .So I think education has a big role to play in the popularity of Bitcoin, because it is the nature of man, how will he invest in something that he cannot understand.

Have any of you gifted bitcoin to a wife like me?

you are very romantic with your partner, she is a lucky woman because she has you as her husband, I have never given my partner bitcoin because I know he is paying off our house in installments, but I took the initiative to collect a little bitcoin that I got from the signature campaign what I follow, the future cannot be predicted, and in my opinion investment is a very important thing. for all husbands out there, you have to be able to teach your wives a little about Bitcoin, they have to be able to be independent because the future is full of mysteries and we don't know what will happen to our household, so knowledge about bitcoin is very important for all couples who are married.

There are always opposites in life.

Someone want to use Bitcoin as gift to wife.
In contrast, someone want to sell wife's jewelry to buy Bitcoin.

Invest in Bitcoin by selling wife's jewelry (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5441679.0).

Gifting your wife is from your own side, it's easily to do and don't need permission of your wife but I am against the idea to sell your wife's jewelry to buy Bitcoin like the shared topic.

Hopefully the gifted bitcoin will be hold long time enough to get profit.

Wait wait what happened bro. Why are you so sure you will not going to have a wife? You okay right?  ;D

I think the idea of gifting Bitcoin to someone we love is not a bad idea at all. If I have a wife and a kid I would definitely give them some crypto wallet with some bitcoin in it. Since Bitcoin can act as an investment or tool against inflation is a win-win solution.

I agree; it is definitely a blessing if your wife takes a liking to what you are interested in, like Bitcoin. A bonus is that she is futuristic when it comes to holding the bitcoin, but I suggest it will be great if you will not just hold the bitcoin but instead try doing trades or anything that could grow your bitcoin. With that, you and your partner will be hand in hand, and you will have someone to talk to about this stuff. About the shared topic, I also agree that selling assets like jewellery and such in exchange for bitcoin or any cryptocurrency is not a wise idea. We will never know what the value of bitcoin will be in the next few days. Also, jewellery is a memory that cannot be replaced by money, so better not exchange the jewellery assets for bitcoin; instead, allocate a budget for that if you really want to invest in or hold bitcoin.

Wow nice story. I first heard of it when someone gave his wife Bitcoin on their wedding day. It is more interesting that your wife is already aware of Bitcoin so you don't have to put much effort to explain Bitcoin to your wife and transfer the Bitcoin.
But you should inform your wife well about bitcoin wallet because if she doesn't choose a good wallet, her bitcoins can be lost.  And she definitely never wants to lose the first gift she got from her husband  ;D

Wait you will get some Merit for your so beautiful story   :P

I am single now but I have a girlfriend who I give her some gifts from time to time but I have never thought of giving Bitcoin as a gift. But if I gift her in future, I plan to gift her in Bitcoin. I will get married by 2025 when I will gift my wife with Bitcoin. Since you are teaching your wife about Bitcoin and yourThe wife has developed a keen interest in Bitcoin, so it is reasonable that you have such a plan. But till now I have not told anything about Bitcoin to my girlfriend and she doesn't know anything about the importance of Bitcoin. So I will first inform him about the importance of Bitcoin and then make him interested in investing in Bitcoin.

No offense, but I laughed when he said he definitely wouldn't get married. I guess he's been abandoned in love many times and has lost faith in women, LOL.
In reality, bitcoin is just money, another form of asset. So, it doesn't make much difference whether we give bitcoin, gold or whatever to our wife. To me, as long as they know its value and like it, give them whatever they want. When giving gifts to our wives, give them something they like, not something we like. If your wife doesn't like bitcoin, don't force her to accept gifts reluctantly.

First of all, congratulations to the bride and groom, may the vows you're promised will reach a renewal and may you never both get tired of the married life. That's a pretty awesome gift and it seems that she loves the idea since half of the bitcoin that you own is now hers I don't see how that's going to be something that she will reject especially when you've given it to her not long after the event that she's probably dreamt about for a long time and that you've educated her about bitcoin and she already knows a thing or two about it, plus you've got her the gold ornaments too so there's really no downside for her to not accept that proposal.

Shared interests are crucial in a fast-changing industry like Bitcoin. Having a partner on the same journey produces synergy beyond conversations. This needs further analysis. While having Bitcoin is admirable, its only the beginning. Enormous opportunities await in the crypto economy. Trading is an aggressive but rewarding way to grow Bitcoin.

However, you're right about tangible assets. Trading jewelry for cryptocurrency? The dilemma is tough. These items have emotional value beyond their value. Bitcoin's volatility and unpredictability make this decision riskier. If entering Bitcoin is serious, one should be careful, set a budget, and avoid rushed actions.

A very nice gift but I think it's better if you teach her first the things she needs to know about Bitcoin before giving your half investment to her. Anything could happen, I mean what if she randomly sold it because she wants to buy something that's needed in your house, and the amount of Bitcoin she sold was suppose to make a lot of profits in the next bull run, that would be a waste, in my opinion.

Tbh, I still dont think it is a very good idea to give Bitcoin as a gift at wedding or other event that supposed to have romantic notes in it. The only acceptable scenario is when you both are deep into cryptocurrency. Otherwise it looks like a investment, than a present. Similar to case when on St. Valentines day you give her a ring, invite her to a restaurant with candles, and she gives you socks and shaving foam.

The wife's happiness is in the husband's hands.
I know you are a wise and kind person, giving away half of the investment you have collected so far shows that you really love him. The happy expression your wife makes when she gets a Bitcoin gift indicates that she is very happy with the first Bitcoin she has.
Now you can share happy stories with your wife and can teach her more knowledge about Bitcoin. The more people who are willing to teach Bitcoin to those closest to them, the wider the adoption of Bitcoin will be in the future.

If they deserve it why not? The worth of some rings are worth up to 1 BTC because they are made of Gold and other precious stones, so it depends on if the wife was already a crypto fan, because it won't make sense to gift someone Bitcoin when they don't know anything about it, they won't feel appreciative like they should be cause they don't know what they just got.

Also I think I won't be doing this if I am in your shoe, even mentioning Bitcoin at my wedding event while be scary because I don't what people to know that I am into crypto, if you want to gift your love ones something this valuable its better you do it in a private space.

It's going to be a hell of good gift is she knew what Bitcoin is all about, I mean some couples still keep their gifts they received from their partners on their wedding day, like some kind of unforgettable memories so it's not bad idea at all, just do it privately.

In our country, the type of gifts that can be received is something they will use to start their family, something they can use in the future, or if ever they necessarily need it. Normally, gifts such as money or life insurance were also being used as a gift. In my personal view, Bitcoin can be treated the same as I mentioned, providing an investment for your wife may not be romantic for you, but knowing that your partner has an investment plan for both of you, is also being romantic and being practical at the same time.

Absolutely, in fact, making Bitcoin known to many people involves using it as a conversation topic among close friends and explaining its functions, characteristics, and shortcomings. Teaching Bitcoin to beginners is not just about profit and gains, which is not ideal, especially since not every beginner is prepared for the risks involved in gaining profits through Bitcoin.

Introducing Bitcoin as a means of transaction is actually more favorable. When someone has an alternative peer-to-peer payment method, it simplifies the process of sending and receiving money for others without the hassle of dealing with banks.

The point is, the more we bring up Bitcoin as a conversation topic with our close associates, the greater the likelihood of adoption based on individual objectives. It's not about forcing people to adopt Bitcoin for specific purposes, as everyone truly has their own intentions when dealing with Bitcoin, including spouses.

Giving something to the people we love will certainly make us feel the same way as the person who receives it, especially as what you give is a very good investment for the future. By inviting people close to you to invest in Bitcoin, Bitcoin adoption will indeed become more widespread, but we need to teach it well because this is a very risky investment and can result in losses if we don't understand it well.

To be honest with you, i really wish i could see the romantic side of gifting a wife some bitcoin, even though this is one of the best gifts anybody can give to anyone, i still do not think this to be anywhere near romantic.

And talking of investment plan, investment plan is not a gift to your spouse, it's a responsibility, your responsibility as the man of the house, and also the woman's responsibility as the help meet to the man, having an investment plan is a basic family responsibility, that should not be seen as a gift given to another, as a man of the house, you can't be carrying out your responsibility to your family, and then see it as a gift you are giving to your family, makes no sense.

If ever i will be gifting my wife bitcoin, i would look for another physical gift she would very much appreciate, and gift it to her alongside the bitcoin, for bitcoin gifts alone is not romantic enough if at all.

I think I just learnt one way of adding flavor to romance and relationships. Women actually feel happy with monetary gifts so Bitcoin will actually be a very fast way of convincing one's partner to join this golden business. I know my partner, just like many other women, will be super happy to learn as long as money is involved.

First of all, bro, Betcoin is different from Bitcoin. Betcoin is a kind of gambling here in the crypto business. Now, let's go back to the real issue. What you did was good for your wife then. At least in that matter, you are actually helping each other.

It's rare that your spouse supports you in bitcoin trading or cryptocurrency trading here. That will be a big help to both of you as partners, especially for the future of your children or family. I also think that for those who have family there, it's really like their family; that's why they are here in the Bitcoin industry like me.

How did you give half of the bitcoin investments to your wife? Did you make a separate wallet for her, give the private key to her and transfer half of your coins to her wallet?

I thought you may give the little amount and transferring half the investment of yours to her account may or may not be safe. Since she is new in Bitcoin, she may not know how to save the private key and your coins may be at risk if she does not handle her wallet well. I guess you give her proper training on how to use a wallet or keep her bitcoins in your custody.

Any kind of things could be consider as gift, even for a rock, if we'd just put like the meaning behind the gift, then we could appreciate it especially from the people we love.

So what's more if Bitcoin cause it can be used in future purposes and providing your needs. It's already romantic to think of your partner thinking for you financially so you won't struggle soon, since most of our needs would be needing money to have them such as foods, shelter, clothes and etc.

Your given comparison does not provide a valid reasoning. Diamonds or treasure is a tangible gift/asset, a legitimacy check including the determining of its value requires confirmation from someone professional.

Unlike in Bitcoin, if given to your wife, the value and its use can be checked through Google or just explained personally by the husband. Once explained, the wife will know on the spot that it is something important and should be treasured by both of them.

And yes, Bitcoin will serve its purpose in the future. Right now the wife will probably not gonna use it, but the time will come when they will use it. It's romantic and gives enough security for the wife, it only confirms that the husband has plans for the both of them.

Simple practice and not just theory will provide a better understanding and make it easier for them even though they are still beginners.
Knowledge about bitcoin does seem very difficult, but it depends on how they learn it. If you just theory, it won't have a good effect. Theory + practice will give better results.
Giving a bitcoin gift must also be accompanied by knowledge, don't ignore it because it is a valuable asset.

Of course, it must be accompanied, otherwise the wife will ignore it due to ignorance, then the asset could be lost or the seed phrase forgotten, maybe this could happen.

I don't want to ignore that if the gift is valuable, especially with bitcoin, then it's clear that I will pursue it until my wife can then after that give her bitcoin to manage it well, at least she understands about bitcoin and understands how to look after her assets.

No, I have never gifted my girlfriend any bitcoin, she doesn’t like when I gift her money or a gift card. In her mind I should invest the time to look for a real gift for her and not take the easy of gifting only money. This has been an issue between us a few times in the past and now I always check with her sister before buying a gift. There is a difference between jewellery and bitcoin, both has value but jewels she can wear whenever she wants and bitcoin only is in the wallet. If your wife is interested in Bitcoin and wants to learn about it then it's good to gift her some coins so she can try it out herself, but if she doesn't have a lot of interest and only wants to store it long term then you could also keep it. In my mind a marriage is a union of two people, so all the things you own also belong to your wife now and wise versa. My girlfriend is not really interested in Bitcoins, tried already a few times to start looking into it for her, but she always blocked off. I would be mostly afraid that she doesn't store the coins correctly and will lose the access to her wallet, better to keep all the coins together and let me control the safety of them.

A matured woman won’t deny great opportunities to make money. But yes if a girl only cares about gold then definitely it’s for cosmetic purpose. If you tell them about the profits that they can achieve from investing in Bitcoins, then definitely the will also invest in the coin. I guess OP you did fantastic job by choosing Bitcoins over Gold. Bitcoins are more rare according to me, so definitely soon the demand to accumulate the coin will increase and you will be able to sell the coins in very high price.

...I gave him half of the investment as per my word.

Bitcoin can be held for a long term like a long-term investment during the term of your relationship or even used the bitcoin as your inheritance to your child in the future, but of course, having a plan of it what to use is a must to make sure the bitcoin still on hand profitable and not just sleeping money, did you gift your wife a bitcoin with a hot or cold wallet or just send her a bitcoin using an exchange?, ideal if you have the seed and not become dependent with the centralized platform.

Wow, this matrimony looks like such a joyful haven! I must admit, I'm a little envious, haha! Just kidding. Congratulations on your marriage, dear friend! Bitcoin has become so popular that even people outside the crypto world have heard about it. It's awesome that your partner is accepting it wholeheartedly. It might be a good idea to educate her more about how Bitcoin and crypto work. Who knows, she might become an even better investor or trader! Give it a shot, my friend

I think this depends on your wife's preferences, if she doesn't like bitcoin or doesn't care about bitcoin, giving her bitcoin will become a meaningless gift. Not every wife likes bitcoin like OP's wife, so we need to adapt to each situation, especially during important events like weddings. So that's why you should ask her opinion before gifting her bitcoins, don't ruin their happiness just because of our preferences. Bitcoin is scarce, bitcoin is more valuable than gold...everyone likes to have a lot of money but not everyone cares about those things if they don't like bitcoin.

First of all congratulations brother on your wedding, may you both have a successful and happy life. Well brother I have not yet experienced it because I am not married and also I have no Bitcoin so it will be quite difficult to feel how happy you are but according to my own mindset set, I am giving my own opinion. Bitcoin is a very wealth-expensive asset in the world and its popularity is increasing day by day but I don't know how you can trust a person when it comes to Bitcoin. As you told me you got married a few days ago then how can you trust a person who came into your life a few days ago if I were in your place it would be quite difficult for me but this act shows how much you love her. I am very happy to see that your wife understands Bitcoin very easily as today's men do not understand this fully but your wife did and I would love it ,and my wife in the future will also understand Bitcoin and invest in it and know about its benefits. Today I have no Bitcoin but if in the future I would some bitcoins then I will feel happy to give a bitcoin to my wife as a marriage gift.

I don't understand exactly why you needed to give her half of your investment instead of simply telling her that you own some bitcoins because if for any reason she decides to sell when the price is going down, and you know how it works but she doesn't, you pretty much thrown out of the window half of your investment. Why wasn't telling her enough in your opinion? She may even lose the coins...

Indeed, there are times wherein just telling would be enough than making them involved to something they know nothing much about. Also in his case, they’re already married there’s no need for actually transferring an asset under her authority given that more likely it is him who would still act upon every market behavior. If it was me I would probably not transfer the amount and just let her know what I am doing. More people getting involved in a single asset could just yield to things getting more complicated especially once there’s a difference with opinions on perhaps whether to sell or not. Assuming that you’ve been here for years and she’s not; do you think you will both have the same decision when there’s a sudden change with the market behavior?

Since the Crypto market will keep going bullish and bearish, it is a good idea if op had inform the person he intend and explain how Bitcoin actually works. I don't really know op further plans after seeing some advise that had been given in this thread for better decisions on clarification. We tend to make mistakes sometimes and when we ask questions, we might get a very good advise that will help us to make a better move. It is better for a person to learn about something with time so that they can grab and understand how it works rather giving them opportunity to hold when they might not even understand what could happen if they hold with taking a swift decision when the market keep falling.

What you do is very visionary. Indirectly, you are teaching your wife about the benefits of bitcoin for future investment in the hope that your family's finances in the future will be much better than today. For me, Bitcoin can be said to be like jewelry even though it doesn't look physical, but Bitcoin can be said to be an asset/valuable item for your wife because the price will continue to rise if she always holds it.

In my country there are already several people who marry their partners using bitcoin dowry. Even though there are many pros and cons, this is good for introducing Bitcoin to the people around us. That bitcoin is better than gold or diamonds.

Let's just say that bitcoin is not just limited to men as it can also be a passion for women.  So gifting bitcoin to a wife is actually a good start so she can also be aware that bitcoin can also be precious like gold, or its actually more precious and valuable than gold. But make sure that her interest is not just for short term duration but definitely for long term as much as possible. Know that bitcoin is never a get rich quick and should always be for long term investment to maximize its profits. With your guidance on how to manage bitcoin investment properly, i know your wife will always have the bigger chances to become successful with bitcoin as well.

I assume you live in Indonesia mate, I didn't know that there's already the type of marriage like that there. But who's not going to decline that type of ceremony when the partner has got Bitcoin. It's like the new flex for being financially free today and more of it when the person is holding a lot of it.

That bitcoin is better than gold or diamonds.
For us, it's true that Bitcoin is better than those assets. But if talking about which is better, we're biased because where into Bitcoin and this is a subjective thing. But regardless of that, they just need to accept the fact that this works better for us thus we say Bitcoin is better than those.

Anyway, such wedding gift or gift to a wife must be romantic, as it must give emotions. While money is just money (same as bitcoin). You give or get it, spend it and you forget about it. No positive memories are left after. Still dont understand how can investment be romantic. I can give my wife a brick, saying that this is a first step to our future house, and I am 10000% sure she would be totally disappointed with that. In my country, old people used to save money for their own funerals, and places on graveyards in advance. That is also a kind of investment, even though is sounds weird. Can you imagine receiving a present like that? As you say, it will be both practical and romantic.

I agree with your point of view on this. For an important day like a wedding day or a date, we should give meaningful gifts that are appropriate to the situation, and should not give unrelated things. In OP's case, if his wife knows and is passionate about bitcoin, he can gift bitcoin to her at any time. Giving her bitcoin on her wedding day might make her happy because she understands what it is, but what about the people around her? They don't know anything about bitcoin and came to congratulate the wedding, share the joy with the bride and groom, but they don't understand what's going on, which will make the party no longer interesting.

At the end of the day, it's all about money, bitcoin or gold or any gift is money, but we need to give gifts that suit the situation and context rather than just doing what we want.

A very good idea. But if it was me, I would rather teach her how to earn in bitcoin or make her buy bitcoin with her fiat earnings. She would value the bitcoin she earned herself or she bought with fiat more than just the one sent her by hubby. Since she is holding for a long time, she might at sometime forget she has bitcoin before she didn't earn it. Now, the fund will be at risk if she can't save the seed phrase very well. It would have been better she earned herself, then you also let her know about your investment incase of demise
.

Did you just see your wife and married her? I mean you decided to tell her about bitcoin only after marriage. I have taught my girlfriend much about bitcoin even when we aren't married.

Just like a last minute decision. For Bitcoin to be a present that will be remembered or understood, the person who receives it must be into deeply crypto, and people who surround that person must be also in crypto. Otherwise how would that person share the joy of a present. I bet it was a quest for his wife to explain her parents what exactly OP gave her as a present.

Simple practice and not just theory will provide a better understanding and make it easier for them even though they are still beginners.
Knowledge about bitcoin does seem very difficult, but it depends on how they learn it. If you just theory, it won't have a good effect. Theory + practice will give better results.
actually for me since this is for long term investment ? indeed that needs theory and practice but a simple trust is enough to understand that even what happened
just holding bitcoin will bring us fortune in time.

Giving a bitcoin gift must also be accompanied by knowledge, don't ignore it because it is a valuable asset.

Congratulations on your marriage and fulfilling your promise to give half of your bitcoin investment to your wife It is fantastic to hear that she not only familiar with Bitcoin but also want to learn more about it. It is not easy to explain complex topics like cryptocurrency so It is great that she grasp the concept so easily. It is also wonderful to hear that your wife plan to hold the bitcoin.

As for your question about gifting bitcoin to a wife many people different preferences when they come to gifts. some prefer gold jewelry others find the value It is essential to understand your partner interests and desires to ensure you give a good gift.

it is good to see how your wife appreciate both the bitcoin and the gold jewelry you gift her. It looks like you found a perfect balance between her interests and yours.

By the way I am not married yet. But again I wish you both live a happiest life.

It's not necessarily the case that the old holder taught his wife about bitcoin, sometimes they didn't provide education or his wife didn't know about his work in crypto. My wife still doesn't understand how crypto works, she only knows the name bitcoin and how valuable bitcoin is to make ends meet. So education must be done as soon as possible so that the wife can become a holder who can be relied on.

I fear you did a terrible mistake. Now once she wants to divorce you, she will be aware you are a Bitcoin investor and will demand 50% of your BTC holdings, besides the sum of Bitcoins you already gave her. We can't trust people nowadays to share informations about our investments and so on, especially if we are talking about a woman who you met or married recently... I don't know if it has always been like this in the world, but all the sworn love by a woman today, may totally change in a matter of few months to nothing or even contempt, scorn, disdain... Be careful with your finances and keep it private for yourself until you are certain the person by your side is really worthful of your trust.

You have raised a valid concern that the OP should be worried about. Sometimes we trust a person so much that we forget that every individual has their own secret that they can not share with anyone. However it is not advisable to share your personal life in an open forum in times of lots of hacking, exploits. You can be a victim of social engineering, and your online life can be in danger.

You should also get married early like OP and gift your lovely wife bitcoins instead of gold jewellery.
As the demand and popularity of Bitcoin is increasing, people are interested in investing in Bitcoin over other assets in the future.
But it would be better to gift Bitcoin to your wife along with gold jewellery. Because both gold jewelery and Bitcoin will be good for your future. Both are top in terms of popularity.

Or it's also possible that he showed right away how Bitcoin is exchanged for the money they use, because Op's story is not detailed.

Then you are also right; that is also the OP's choice and may be one of his ways to express his true love to his wife. And I think that in other communities here, maybe we also allocate Bitcoin for our families or spouses, right?

I wish to gift my wife a bitcoin gift but hasn't yet earned any. I plan to help her earn her own money from bitcoin in the future. We must emphasize the importance of understanding our wife before giving her more money. Look what happened to the price of Bitcoin now, it's an opportunity.

OP told that his wife is aware of Bitcoin. However, Bitcoin as a gift, that is basically just money. That isnt very romantic, that is just another creative way to give money. Even though it is popular, but giving money as a present is simplest kind of a present. I would say that is might be similar that person did not bother much thinking what to give.

I agree with both of you, if we are talking about romance and to add some excitement to the wedding then bitcoin is an inappropriate gift.  but anyway, this is OP and his wife's wedding, it's their decision and they feel happy with it.  but if it were me, I wouldn't use bitcoins at a wedding or any other occasion, it's more like a boast or boast.  if we want to teach our wife about bitcoin or give her bitcoin, we have plenty of time to do that.

I don't think I read anywhere that Bitcoin was used to pay for Op's wedding. All he said was that he gave his wife a bitcoin gift. after their wedding. OP used bitcoin to pay for his wedding? I don't think he did that because if you read his previous thread he said that bitcoin is illegal in their country. He invested in bitcoin in silence but then came up with the idea of getting bitcoin as a wedding gift on their wedding day, but following the this thread, he gave bitcoin after they got married.

His wife also knows about bitcoin and once they decide to invest in bitcoin together, it means he will definitely teach her everything about bitcoin. Also, it's not that we need to share some of our bitcoins with those closest to us, but we should find a way for them to have access to all of our bitcoins if something unexpected happens with us.

Presents should, in fact, capture the spirit of the occasion. Indeed, a bitcoin enthusiast would find this to be a wonderful present on an ordinary day. But we must remember who our audience is. A wedding is about more than simply the couple—its about the guests celebrating with them. Giving bitcoin now? Thats a contemporary decision, but its important to make sure it doesnt dominate the main feelings of the event.

Whether its bitcoin, gold, or any other tangible gift, money is at the center of it all. The sentiment, the feeling behind the present, ought to be the main goal. Indeed, there is a place and a time for everything. Our judgments need to be made with consideration, not only based on trends or personal preferences.

Congratulations. Your wife is fortunate to have a husband like you. However, it is important to be prepared for the possibility that she may decide to sell it after holding onto it for a few years. Once she sells it, and if you are not prepared for this outcome, it could potentially cause a conflict in your marriage in the future. Therefore, it's best to be ready for your wife's decision regarding her Bitcoin.

I think you dont understand how system works. She can only hope to get 50% of what he gained during marriage. All the BTC holdings before marriage will belong to him. However, the knowledge about BTC opens her possibilities for future. She could have not knows about holdings, but now she is aware that there is an amount that is probably is increased when he buys more. But in general, it is unhealthy vision of situation, when you think about losing half if you get married. If a persons have such idea, then he should not get married at all.

First of all, congratulations on getting married.
Unfortunately, I don't have a wife yet.
If I ever get a wife, I would like to give her Bitcoin as a gift like you did.

I also don't have a wife like you, and hope that one day when we get a partner, we can both do the same things OP did.

Quote
I think it would be a good experience for both of us.
The value of Bitcoin will be better than that of gold jewelry.

Of course this will be something romantic in a wedding because it will be different from other weddings. Indeed, in many countries the culture will definitely be different, we also need to pay attention, if in a country that prohibits bitcoin this will certainly be a problem. Thankfully in my country it is not prohibited, this is a good opportunity to plan because bitcoin is also like gold even though bitcoin is not physically real, but if your future wife already understands about bitcoin, she will definitely be happy to accept a bitcoin dowry rather than gold or diamonds.

Oh,,he Mr. OP you have fulfilled your promise I think that is good. I appreciate you for your initiative, I like your unique work about Bitcoin. Since you have gifted Bitcoin to your wife, which is really awesome, you should also give your wife good knowledge about Bitcoin. Of course, I like your initiative because you as a husband gifted your wife some seed phrases in Bitcoin. If you gift your wife a piece of gold jewelry instead of bitcoins, you might be happier. But since your wife has heard about Bitcoin before and has some experience with it, I think she will be well-educated in the future. By investing in crypto, you give your wife good advice and educate her about Bitcoin so that she can be a good Bitcoin user.

Because still not everyone is interested to know about this bitcoin. If your wife doesn't accept bitcoin like the Op suggested, how can you give her bitcoin? First do some work in real life and get married. Not everyone is like an Op er wife, it's not like you will get married by seeing Bitcoin. First you have to get married then you can give share of bitcoins to your wife.

It has already occurred in Indonesia, and the news was quite popular for a few days, but then it seems like everyone forgot about it. I'm not inclined to use Bitcoin as a dowry because it's likely that my future wife is not yet familiar with Bitcoin before I introduce it to her. Rather than seeking sensationalism, I prefer to keep my Bitcoin ownership hidden and only discuss it with those who understand Bitcoin.

The idea of giving Bitcoin as a gift to my wife sounds good, but I want to present it as a long-term savings plan. Perhaps it sounds like a future savings fund for our family. However, once again, I won't give it until I've taught her how to secure Bitcoin and its technical aspects. It's too risky if there are mistakes when Bitcoin is held by someone who doesn't understand it.

It depends on the system the couple is adept of and the jurisdiction they are marrying. For example, here in my country there is a regime I translated to "Full Community Property Regime" where every belongings acquired before and after the marriage are shared 50% to each part in case of divorce. The one you mentioned is "Partial Community Property Regime", where only belongings acquired after the marriage are shared. There is also a third possibility, "Separation of Property Regime", where each part maintains its belongings after divorce, without sharing anything with each other.

Anyway, you are right. If you don't trust another person, it's better to not marry at all... And that is why I think marriage is a big mistake nowadays where we can't trust each other and people were used to not maintain their word anymore. It's a honorless world.

First of all, congratulations and good luck to your married life. Second of all, you are too kind to give half of your BTC investment to your wife but I think even if you didn't made a promise, it will still be required, especially if there will be an annulment going on soon. BTC is not new anymore so it's no surprise that your wife will have a response like that. He already have an idea so teaching her about BTC is only a piece of cake.

On your questions, I'd say it depends on the girl. If he doesn't have an idea about BTC, maybe it's not bad to give them a jewelry instead. We can also do what you did there of convincing the girl first. If she seem to like BTC, then just give her a BTC.

It all depends on the person you're gifting (wife) if she does not like it she will not have value for it. For me you did an excellent job by gifting your wife half of your bitcoin because bitcoin is precious and valuable to me but I don't know for someone else. Not everyone is willing to accept bitcoin as a gift due to the nature of bitcoin.
I sincerely love the faith of your wife cause she's willing to hold bitcoin as a source of investment not every wife can be supportive to such idea.

Another important thing that needs to be taken care of before gifting BTC to her is educating her about how she can secure her BTC. It is not like a traditional asset that you can keep in a box and sometimes non technical person can have a hard time to understand the way how a non custodial or hardware wallet work. She can lose all of his bitcoin due to lack of proper knowledge about its storage.

Since we are on crypto forum, then Bitcoin is as a gift is mostly accepted here by users. But if we were a vehicle forum, then a car spare part as a gift wont sound as an individual and romantic wedding gift. You see, as this is a wedding gift, it not only has to be romantic, but it is important to be an individual also. As people marry often only once in their life, but bitcoin can be bought by everyone and it can be purchased or gifted during their marriage or at any other occasion.

This post led me to your previous post where you stated that bitcoin is illegal in your country and you are very cautious about your bitcoin investment. It's a good idea to gift your wife the bitcoin if she's comfortable with it but I will personally not do it for some reasons. Women heart are very fragile and can not bear the risk associated with bitcoin especially when she's new to the system. Another problem here is the fact that bitcoin is illegal in your country. Women can not keep secrets like men does, she may discuss about it with some of her friends out of excitement and you know the consequences that follows if the information reach authorities.

I will prefer to keep the investment at my control and management even if half of it will be be on her name but I will not allow her to be in charge of managing the investment. Congratulations on your wedding!

Gifting someone could be appreciated if you gave them the idea and information about certain gifts you gave. For example, you gifted your girlfriend on your anniversary a bracelet, of course, she might expected something much more special, but once you told her that it has a sentimental value that is special to you and you gifted it to her, it would meant special to her. Now let's get back to the topic of the wedding, you gifted your wife Bitcoin, of course, she might not have any idea about it, but knowing the intention as well the information about it, it's like you are thinking for her financial freedom in the future. She would appreciate it and would be thankful. It's actually true that it really depends on the person, so I suggest talking it out first and knowing your loved one's preference for gifts. Because for sure you still have time to prepare for that before the wedding.

Bitcoin will definitely be the best gift ever gifted to one specifically when the person in question knows about cryptocurrency and how it operates. Gifting bitcoin to your wife is a good idea and I compliment OP for such impressive action pulled. The wife will really appreciates the gift only if she's educated about the crypto space and knows how it operates but if not, he sits in good position to throw some polite creation of awareness about the system to the wife. Most women would valued material things over bitcoin because they have no idea or concerns about the system, in that situation, there's no need to bother oneself, just buy expensive Rolex, take her out on shopping spree and provide everything essentially important to her.

I agree. It's not just about giving her Bitcoin but I guess that everyone who does this to their wives or girlfriends are also teaching them on how to secure themselves the Bitcoin that was gifted to them so that they'll take care of it and won't just neglect the importance of keeping it. It's not that hard to teach them on how to make their Bitcoins safe and to avoid being hacked if they're just given education and taught properly by their partners. So, aside from gifting them, there's the responsibility of teaching them as well on what are the right things to do so that they will not be hacked or scammed by anyone. That won't hurt a lot of time for them if you've got sets of instructions made or some materials of tutorials or visuals that you can direct them easily for them to be guided as they receive that gift from you. Start with the lightweight wallets like Electrum but also introducing them with hardware wallets are also better for them to understand why it is so important to have it.

I'm just curious what your and your wife's target is regarding Bitcoin savings and also how you save it because for me this is one of the important things because when you target the long term and save it in exchange as a safe place then that is a mistake which is fatal.
I have never given Bitcoin as a gift even though I once gave Bitcoin to a friend of mine who was a fellow Bitcoin user but didn't consider it a gift, just wanted to share and at that time the price was still quite cheap, around hundreds of dollars for 1 Bitcoin and I gave him 0.013 Bitcoin which he immediately sold because he wanted to buy cigarettes, but I didn't care about his decision because I gave it sincerely as a friend.

It is indeed important that he purchase ledger wallet for safe keeping  because if this is just from exchange then the urge to convert when the price starts to grow will always be the problem.
because eagerness will always come if they see the value starts doubling.

I also advise you to use an Electrum wallet because it is much easier and I like the security that that wallet has, for the purposes of doing things better it is good to have Electrum as a base Because I do not recommend an exchange if you are willing to meet a good KYC, because all exchanges are now very demanding, and since it is a gift that is going to be Given but it is much better to do the best wallet thing, it is always good to make one of those rules because it means thinking about the good future of the other person , and that is very valuable, I think it is more valuable than gold itself , even though a woman likes gold more, since bitcoin is worth more.

You will be surprised getting schooled by a female about Bitcoin and other potential crypto assets, Bitcoin has already made a wave for everyone, not only the male wants the money or wants the financial freedom, there are some smart interesting women who are still very much involve in the cryptocurrency industry, Bitcoin should be something strange to any one who is technologically wise. Because it’s is every where in the internet and it’s the most talk about topic in the global economy. I would be surprised if my woman has a little insight about it. Not only that we need to express to them why bitcoin is important for our current economic crisis and how it is assisting a lot of people. Otherwise they will sell their gifted bitcoin when they see a price surge. Giving knowledge about this new financial solution can be a better gift than your gifted bitcoin as she can buy more from the market if she identifies its potential as a future form of asset.
We should definitely get rid of these gender-based myths in the tech and finance fields. The crypto and tech worlds have been and still are greatly improved by women. Why some people still believe such old-fashioned things in this digital age is beyond me. Digital currencies like Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are for everyone, regardless of gender. Every tech-savvy person, regardless of gender, should be aware of this change, this shift in the way money works.

Digging deeper, its not just about knowing things; its also about being a part of things and being included. As you correctly pointed out, crypto, especially Bitcoin, is like a movement and a way to get to financial freedom. Being informed and engaged is, therefore, necessary, almost imperative, for everyone. Beyond just a business decision, its also a social one that will lead to real equality. Actually, everyone wants to be financially free, doesnt they?
