Title: [free to join] Contest of the Gods : Zeus Cryptotag for the winner !
Post by: Becassine on November 16, 2023, 04:52:59 PM
1. My little darlings,

I am lucky and honored to once again have a quality sponsor for this fun competition. I'm just making the rules so there's no dispute. Of course Bitmover will simplify the draw for us. While waiting to have the complete rules and the presentation of the prices (it's because I'm a little slow, but it's OK now, you can have a look at the the rules), I'm already giving you one so get ahead: you will need to make a quote from a well-known character about bitcoin (this can of course be an absurd assertion, a predictive or amusing quote, in short whatever you want). Once the quote has been written by another participant, you do not have the right to copy. If you really can't find one, look for one on this forum that you like. And if you really can't find it, give free rein to your creativity.

I enter the names of the participants into the Bitmover magic tool only when they have given me a quote. => https://bitcoindata.science/giveaway-manager/

Et merci à notre sponsor !!!!

2. Hello sweeties,

Are you this annoying in person, or just online?

I spent last week talking to some of the largest Bitcoin businesses (much bigger than Paymium/Bitcoin-Central or anything anybody in #bitcoin-assets is involved with), and they all want the maximum block size to increase.

The poll in this thread says people support it by a three-to-one margin.

It is going to happen sooner or later. I want it to happen sooner because Very Bad Things will happen if we get to 100% full 1MB blocks:

I'm busy writing benchmarks, finding bugs in current code, and generally making sure nothing will break when we increase the maximum block size. As you are players I'll give you a hint (I don't know if it's good though).

Quote
You may have found yourself using the words “hint” and “clue” interchangeably, but did you know there is a difference between the two? The proper word to use depends on the context, but generally speaking, a hint is a subtle suggestion or indication, while a clue is a piece of evidence or information that can help solve a problem or mystery.

Well I don't know if it's a clue or a hint  :P

Hello I'm glad you like this new competition  :D

The rules you escaped: make a video of you killing a bear with your bare hands, invite 5 people from the French section, do 50 push-ups (+ video), make me understand how to sign a bitcoin address. But as these conditions are almost impossible to achieve, I gave up. Besides, I don't know what is the most difficult in these rules...

Feel free to invite friends to participate.

Damn, I really have a problem with deadlines!
I promised I would participate, so here I am (although maybe a tiny bit late, I know :P).

We could find a few more quotes from Satoshi, but let me quote someone else:
Quote from: Andreas M. Antonopoulos, The Internet of Money Vol. 2

Self-evident, because the number that is produced as proof-of-work tells you exactly how much work has been done cumulatively.

(and if that quote still isn't long enough for you, you can have a look at my signature)

Thanks Becassine for organizing the game, and Cryptotag for sponsoring it!

Gavin has admitted his mistake already, but this quote was a big thing back then in 2016.

I guess I am late already. But here is mine

Hello,

I'm checking that I didn't forget someone and let's go.

Sorry I have a connexion problem, I will use the tool at 9.30 (heure de chez moi).

Target Block was 820679

And the winner is G. Seed

I send you images later, you can check on the Bitmover magic tool. (I have problems with my PC, see you later  ;))

I really appreciated this idea of using nice quotes, I hope to see this concept used again in futures raffles  :)

And as we have a very generous sponsor and I like surprises, Cryptotag is offering a Zeus to the first participant who enters this competition.

So I put the two winners and our sponsor Cryptotag in touch. Thank you very much to everyone for participating and I look forward to offering you a new competition (But always with a quality sponsor) and of course the bitmover magic tool.

And I have another great news : maybe Cryptotag will sponsored another contest in January  8)

And, like the famous expression "stay tuned".

Yay, I am so happy  ;)

I wanted to play just to please Becassine but I take the gift :)

That's what contests are all about: having fun and making people happy.

I've been to the Dutch, the French, the Italians and the Portuguese local sections : not many of them took me up on my invitation.

Next time maybe ?  :)

(or they all have their bitcoins on exchanges ?  :o)
