Don't be deceived, not every gamblers who actually claims that they won really won.
Some falsefully speculates that they won just because they want to pave an ease to those who has been advising them to quit or limits gambling simply because the gambler has been unlucky to win instead he keep betting over and over without a good bankroll management in their gambling carriers.
They basically do this because they feels disturbed and inconveniences of the people's opinions and advices towards the gamblers unprofitable gambling experiences

Truthfully, the disdain that comes with loosing on a bet that you have been warned about is what births this false claims of winning even when there is nothing to prove.
Maybe its even necessary to keep the wins to one's self whenever it is the case. I see no need to want to prove a point when you actually responsible for the outcome of whatever investment you have with your funds.

Gambling is everyone decision and choice, so whatever the outcome, only he himself feels it.
Maybe there are some people who think they don't wear their heart well, but at least as long as don't gamble to harm other people and disturb other people, then whatever assumptions they have there is no need to think about it.
Trying to prove to others by exceeding or forcing one abilities will only complicate and worsen the situation because someone who does this will definitely gamble with hatred and emotion.
In gambling, emotional feelings if they cannot be controlled can basically be very dangerous.
If gamblers bet with emotional feelings, they will definitely be more careless and not think much so that losing becomes the final goal.
My advice is that as much as possible, we should be better as gamblers who stay on the safe path and whatever other people opinions about the results we get, we don't need to think too much about it.
Moreover, every defeat is only us who feel it, those people who don't like us will definitely just laugh at the suffering we experience.
Keep in control and don't go beyond limits just to provide ridiculous evidence and never assume can show winning results because that doesn't provide any benefits.

If you claim that you have won why it is a lie, you are just deceiving yourself and self-deception is foolishness. What if you are asked to provide proof of your win or asked to show the money you won, what will be your reaction? Maybe they will fake slips or borrow money to cover up the lies and deception.

However, if you know that people close to you are not comfortable with your gambling life, keep it secret or quit. But I also think that every responsible gambler shouldn't suffer from external pressure especially if you are mature and earn your own money.  You don't have to lie just to please people, that's a big sign of immaturity.

That can be easily spotted if they are saying the truth and if they have won or are just saying so to speculate on those asking them to quit.You can ask them to show proof of their winnings and if they are saying the truth they will gladly show it to anyone as they will be happy to have achieved a win while they will find thousand excuses to avoid showing you the winning ticket when they have none of them.

I think people who do that are really desperate and should ask for professional help immediately.

They do this because of shame of playing consistently without winning. They feel ashamed for such disappointment and they want to hype themselves to be part of those winning too so as to take away shame of being losers. It is shameful sometimes when you have not won a bet.

Sometimes too gamblers do that saying they won their bet while they didn't because they have boosted on the prediction that they have made to be a sure winning. Sometimes when you are watching live match with fellow bettors on a viewing center, a bettor can keep boosting about the match making others to regret the line of their bet while the game was going on and if things turn around in the match against the booster, he might still lie that he took another option and not the one he was boosting about. All these happen because people don't want to be associated with failure.

So what is the idea of this topic? Confirm once again that people lie? Personally, I dont care if gambler boasts about how much he had won. Because I know that behind that one big win are thousands of losses, that makes his total gambling balance negative or little above zero :D Somehow, if someone comes to me first to share that he had won a million, I would not trust him. Few people like to show that they won a lot.

I can't boldly say that such thing happens even though they are doing that imppressed people overhere is like still deceiving oneself but at what point would they stop doing that because I see no reason to come posse a winning they aren't. Well it could be true but sincerely there are genuine winners who come to announce or post about their winning and Yes you will affirmed that such user is actually not far from the truth of what he is saying.

Your own money is your own responsibility, you don't have to lie to cover up your frustration from hearing other people's opinions.
Other people provide well-meaning opinions and advice. As long as it can be used as advice to make us better, I don't think it's a problem.
Gambling is considered bad because not many people are successful in gambling so people who know our gambling habits try to advise us. As I have said, everything that happens while we gamble is our own responsibility without having to lie by admitting we won even though we actually lost.

I don't really believe anyone's story, let alone seeing someone's winnings at gambling through their stories and social media, after all it's not important for them to share their winnings because in my opinion it's just a story that I don't need to hear and see, for me gambling is not just about getting money. just winning, let alone manipulating winnings from the gambling we play and that won't be a motivation for me either.

I know some people who hve that kind of attitude, these are the people that doesn't know how to accept their losses, or they want to be right all the time. Other people are those influencers who promotes a gambling site using demo money that they gamble and claim they won, it's a marketing side of gambling and we should all be aware of that.

What we can only do to minimize the risk in gambling is to be real or to be true with our experience, we don't need to lie just to impress people as it's normal that we lose since the winning percentage of a gambler in the long run is probably just 1%, so don't convince people that we are exceptional when we are not.

There are always those types of people, it's worse if they keep losing through gambling. That's why they imagine themselves and tell other people that they won the game even though the truth is that they lost.

There's really nothing we can do about their mindset, but hopefully, as gamblers we should know our limit and what amount we can bet. When you lose gambling, it will be mixed with frustration, depression and worse, you might do bad things just to feed your gambling habit.

No matter how great people say about winning and losing in gambling and whatever types are claimed by gamblers, negative and positive activities are good and bad, Even if they are addicted or are regular gamblers, they still have principles regarding the gambling activities they carry out.

Honestly, for me, it doesn't matter if people say they won a lot of money or are lying, it's none of my business, the point is, I stick to my principles, to carry out gambling activities, Talk is not the main thing that influences me in gambling, I have the principle that he is him and I am me.

Why do gamblers who claimed they've won and didn't win stand to gain by such childish claims. This is very disturbing and calls for campaigns to be raised against gambling addiction because behaviors like these are just warning signs or symptoms. if the case they just do that to annoyed people who discourage them well I think that's why as long as they didn't implicate other people just to fool them for having that win and make them try to believe on his lies.

Or there are gamblers who's going to show you their big wins, but will hide how much money they have lost initially and if you are going to compute for everything, they still in the negative as far as their gambling is.

I just had someone, a friend of mine, who I used to go to casinos last month, show me this morning his huge wins. But unexpectedly, he said that the lost this big amount already that's why he is so desperate that he deposit another big amount and then bet huge on a slot machine. When I first read your post, I thought you were talking about the gamblers who may deceive the gambling sites but that is obviously not possible.

Yes, the gamblers may tell other that they have won so no one stops them. But this false statement won't last long, because the family will demand from the gamblers if he won money, why not spend on them but in fact they will see that the gambler is actually making use of the household money and the claim of win is just a false statement.

For outside people and friends, other than those who live in the gambler's house, he may tell the falsely that he is a successful gambler and wins more than he loses. Those people may believe him because they do not live in his house and they never know how he lives and carry out his day to day expenses.

It's why it's not good to tell anyone you are gambling. The expectations of the people around them will get worse. When you say you are winning, you gotta show you have something to spend.

But it must be for bragging that a gambler will lie he won when in reality he didn't. I'm not sure why someone would lie to look successful, I'm sure deep down it doesn't feel better when you lie.

If the person is ashamed, it should be that he has being bragging too much that he will win and maybe that was why the people around him allowed him to continue playing after giving him so much advice on why he should quit gambling.

From my own point of view any gambler that is lying that he won when he did not, is only deceiving himself because he will not have that happiness of winning since it his a lie,  you can detect it from his emotions, because emotions don't lie. If he is using gamble for entertainment and is gambling responsible, no need he lies about winning.

Well, then let them dream maybe it's just their way of easing their way about their losses or they are fond of flexing their gains on social media even though if computed they are still at loss. I would have to agree with you. Just because someone says that they did something does not actually mean that they did it.

And this warning goes double for gambling streamers and other gambling influencers. It should be understood that everything they do is for the sake of gaining followers and money. And if faking it is necessary, they will do exactly that!

Social Media is dangerous for those who are gullible. There is no repercussions for lying influencers just as there is no laws against the casinos that pay influencers money in order to market their casino.

Why should you care about the feelings of other people who clearly don't like the activities you do? Though this may be the case, I do agree that there are people who fake their winnings in order to convince others to try what they are doing. In some cases, also, there are people who fake their winnings by indirectly promoting a certain gambling platform, in which the latter has rigged or questionable results and outcome.

Unfortunately, we cannot 100% detect if people are faking their said winnings by giving advice. The best thing to approach this kind of problem is to be rational and cautious- if what they are saying makes sense, then it is up to your good judgement whether to believe it or not.

The gamblers who had won the game with big winnings will not share their friends and family.Because after their success,their friends and family will ask them loan for their need.After we had made the money by the hard work,why other shouldn enjoy our money was the reason.If our mother or wife had benefited with the winnings mean,it won’t be a problem.Why should we need to give loans and sponsor the friends,relatives of our family members.Their is no logic to spend to the relatives and friends.The gamblers will not say no to their close friends, friends and close friends had more difference in nature.The close friends may help us in the hardest part of our life.

That's very possible, it seems that one of the reasons why gamblers slyly claim that they have managed to get a win and spread that assumption to others is none other than because they don't want to be teased by others including their friends that they always lose or are far from lucky, and  all that they do is just to give a little proof to others that they are no longer a gambler who is far from luck by always ending up losing.

So your idea is quite plausible as to why they would do that, indirectly I believe that their goal is  just to get others to stop advising them when basically all advice is good and good for the gambler. I always try to control myself by saying those things but it does happen. There are times I feel like I am being cheated because I just won't hit anything for like 2000 to 5000 bets. But the truth is it can happen. When I refresh the page, something good will suddenly happen and I feel better that I did refresh it.

More of an egoistic approach to some. Only a few gambler could really acknowledge that they are in loss or simply not profitable in gambling. anyway, there are tons of things to keep yourself busy than lying that you won in a casino game. not sure if there is anyone in OP's mind that he knows who lies about winning. but what i can say though is that many users post their bet slip on sports who lost the match. and that i can say they are not lying, they however look rich in showing how much money they lost.

I would believe this if they are only betting on small betting areas or on shady areas that are not legit and reputable. But if they are betting on big and reputable casinos, they cannot trick the casino that they won when they are not just because of their immaturity and negative experiences with gambling. What is the point raising false hope when you know you never won a game or bet. I believe anyone who does this is an just wanting to cover up their losses. Actually there's no exemption for this on which most gamblers would really be tending to boast up their wins instead of their losses. I don't understand why they do this, they're getting validation from the opinion of other people? That doesn't make sense at all if that's what they are doing. 2) Gambler tells where he got the money from. Moreover, as soon as he starts losing, it will be difficult for him to admit that his luck has run out and everything is lost. Therefore, he will borrow from these same friends, and as a result, his balance sheet will have a huge minus and debts.

That's very common for a gambler to say. Everyone wants to show their winnings but nobody likes to show their loses. If a gambler is addicted to gambling he would never say gambling is bad. This is true. Many gamblers are defensive. They simply cannot accept the fact that their gambling activities are actually net negative rather than positive. Many of my gambling friends are like this. In any case, I could actually think of another reason why someone would falsely claim they won! it is none other than the good old shilling lol. I would go as far as saying, there will always be some shillers in any kind of business e.g. in some exchanges, casinos, et.al. It would probably be best to keep an eye on the situation first and get as many feedbacks from communities first.

Well I don’t know about others but personally I don’t think it’s a wise idea to lie about one’s betting progress and hiding your losses is one of the easiest ways to run into addiction and trust me when we begin chasing our losses, it is always very difficult to quit and that is why is always advisable to only gamble with the amount of money we are willing to loss as nothing is actually guaranteed in gambling nothing even the winnings or losses.

Some lies are very unnecessary because they will put the person in a much harder state than they were before he made that false claim of winning from gambling. Now many people will be looking up to him for good prediction games and for little financial support, and those who copy his game might end up losing their money, and those who look up to him for financial support will get disappointed.

I dont see for it to be that relevant on trying out to make themselves look like winners and trying out to deceive people but rather they are really just that trying out to ease that pain and frustration on the current things that they are experiencing. Human beings are somewhat having that defense mechanisms on which on the sense that they've seen that they are struggling out with their emotions then this is where they would really be

It may seems to the one of the reason,but the important thing is their ego.Once he thought he had win and if the results was against his opinion,that person will claim the win for the ego towards the gambling site.But the result was never changed by his ego,after some days the gambling site will send the winning money to the correct winner officially.So the real winner only get the money and false claim of winning only to scam others by their future money from the gambling site.

they have their own reasons why they falsely claim about their winnings but at the end of the day, he knows the reality as he is the one not receiving the money. he may want to appear to have won for some reasons, like mentioned that he may want to loan bigger amount or maybe just to boast to his friends or colleagues. we may never know their true intentions but who do you think is he fooling with?

for one, if he is indeed claiming to win the bet but no proofs, how can he get it from the casino? he will just look crazy if he will do so because the site will just ignore him.

We need to be wise as gamblers. Not every bets we play we should expects to win. Since we are not born as a winner then we need to to keep struggling and looking for strategies that would aid us to make profits from the way we bets. Surprising to see that people do that in the first place to show people they're not wasting money on gambling. Winning is a must in gambling, no way a gambler wouldn't win at some point. The house already has an edge where they make out a certain amount of money for each gambler to win. Meaning that for any amount we wager, the house has their percentage and the gambler also does. I think the people Op is referring to in his thread are close to toxic gambling and people now advise them to stop gambling as they don't see any positive results from their gambling. Maybe married men who want to prove to their spouse that gambling also pays. Like in some threads, where a member of this forum said, people only want to associate with a gambler who often wins his bets. The losers are seen as addicted gamblers who don't understand why they're into gambling. These notions from friends and society can lead a naive gambler to do all sorts of things to be seen as a responsible gambler. Thereby deceiving himself thinking that he's deceiving anybody. It's like being at peace with the world and at war with himself. Regret will come very late in the life of the gambler. And nobody would be there to help him if he gets addicted. Taking gambling too far from what is is, can destroy the journey of any gambler; especially new players.

I think that people like that who are told by the OP must exist, they claim or lie to others, especially some of his friends who may like to mock him because he is far from luck or that means in his gambling involvement people see that he never gets a win at all, I can't explain what's wrong with him but certainly and the fact may be that he is far from luck so he never gets a win every time he gambles.

It is only natural that some other people including his friends always mock and it is also natural that he lies and says something that he never got at all. By lying to them then indirectly maybe he feels that people will not return to advise and mock him as a gambler who is far from luck, even though overall what is said by the people around him is indeed a fact and he should take some of the advice into consideration, or at least just reduce his gambling activities so that the number of defeats is not so much.

I hardly believe what people say, if I don't see the win myself, then I won't believe it. A lot of people are doing crazy things just to impress or make other people feel bad, some of them might be encouraging their friends to gamble, and if they refuse to join them, they will start claiming faking wins and pushing their friends to join them. I have seen so many fake bet slips on social media, Most of them will claim they are providing a correct prediction, and you will be asked to pay first before you will be added to the group. They will show different bet slips that they won, just to motivate people to pay them, but all of them are fake. If you take a close look at the picture of the bet slip, then you will see that it's edited, but they are using it to scam people.

Difficult question and they will not answer the question because they are defensive to justify their own statements even though they have lied, I think gamblers must be aware of themselves before they experience gambling addiction and the psychological effects of gambling which have an impact on their own losses.

Same here, I also don't care if a person is lying when he say he won x amount unless there is screenshot of the said winnings.  Aside from that, whether the person is lying or not does not give me any prizes so why trouble myself on thinking whether the statement of the person is true or not.  I'll just be friendly with the guy and congratulate him if he said so, besides if the congratulations will ease the trouble of that person then why not give him that thing  ;D.


If I heard or read something like that, I will be happy for him and congratulate him after that I will just go on with what I am doing.  It is not worth the trouble to verify if he is saying the truth since there is no profit in it.

I mean first off. Why would you take other people’s words for it? I know the world’s not a cold and dark place like they make it out to be but you have to have at litle bit of skepticism at least. First off, no one who win’s a lot og games would have the fucking galls to chat you out of the blue to brag about their wins. It's really true that some gamblers don't actually win as they did claim but they do post what they have faked because they probably wan to get some attention of some target audience in the public space probably because they are influencers for a particular bet brand and are promoting the brand so they put up such post to get attention of people to the platform.

It's also true some too do all this to prevent certain attention which probably suggest they should quit gambling so in oder to make it feel like they are not at disadvantage, they just put up such false wins so they think they are profitable but then in the long run it's all self sabotaging because deep down you know how bad you are doing at gambling and this will not help you get any better but when you accept your Faye and probably seek help you tend to get help and even quit easier if you wanted to but otherwise it helps you give room for improvement and restrategizing and becoming a better gambler.

I honestly can't understand why a person would lie that they won when they didn't win anything. I've been following a lot of YouTube channels with people who talk about sports betting, even though they are people who consider themselves professional bettors and give tips on games and give courses on how newbies should do to bet correctly on games, these guys who They consider themselves to be professional bettors, they have partnerships with bookmakers that's why they keep betting a lot of money, they are using the money that bookmakers give them, but they don't lie that they made a bet while they didn't make any bet.

I think oftentimes it's worse than that. Many gamblers not only try to fool others but also fool themselves thinking they're doing much better than they actually do.
It's not hard to get caught in chasing fo a dopamine rush to the point that the grip on reality is distorted.
If you ask any active gambler how are they doing, the most common response is they're in a break-even position. Some of them know this is not true and they'd lie about that deliberately (to make themselves look better), but many just don't keep any record of their profits/losses and get deluded about their performance.

I'm sad about your point, but I think that's unfortunately so true. There are also gamblers I know who have accumulated so much debt not necessarily because they borrow money for their uncontrolled gambling activities but they often needed money for their basic needs. That's so ironic that they are throwing money away at casinos when they cannot even buy the basic things that their families need. And when they win, you're right, many of them don't even remember to pay their debts. Gambling can even warp one's values.

Everyone has their own feelings, some are weak and some are strong, this is like person mentality.
When those who have feelings or are mentally weak then whatever other people say will definitely be taken seriously and they may feel offended so they want to show off something or an achievement just to reply to what other people say.

yep, it could be called a defense mechanism or in other words hiding one's bad qualities from other people.
In fact, there are a lot of gamblers who do things like this because this is just a general problem and it's not too serious for me as long as you dont say something very excessive like saying you won $1m but didn't get paid, that's really something that doesn't make sense because it's 1m dollar is a very high value in my city so if we find a gambler bragging about things like this, just think of it as normal and we deserve to respect it because sometimes they not only cover up the bad things but cover up sadness of losing too much money in gambling.

IMO, doing bragging like this is actually not worth doing because the more often we lie, the more visible our bad things become, so its better to tell stories naturally or not exaggerate or even cover up with stories of losses, which actually makes people think that in fact we often win because people a wise person will never show his kindness but will more often show his silence or show his bad attitude.

It's a common thing in addicts to downplay losses or substance usage. As they don't see it as a problem, but they know other would se it as a problem. So they avoid any confrontation or ideas of intervention. And you don't even need to be addict for that. Most of us like to see our life as a constant success story. We don't count the times we eat unhealthy or time used to play games with playstation or used to watch tv or any unproductive work. And when we know we are wasting our money too much, using our time too much for something, we want to rationalize it to us by saying it's profitable, or how it's good for us in smaller doses, so we keep seeing us doing vices in smaller doses.

Best thing to avoid getting addicted is being honest to yourself and not lying to your friends and yourself. Lying is not somehthing you can build relationships on, not even when that relationship is with your inner self.

They have to justify their losses and they have to feed their ego that they are doing good when they are incurring losses, I once did this because my friends kept taunting me to show my winnings because I played every day and I kept my results all by myself, so I have to manipulate or show fake screenshots but I learned my lesson that I should not fake it and manipulate, I feel guilty because I was fooling myself more than other people.

Well, to me, this is completely normal, I mean, there is a lot of lies in the world in general, not just in the aspect of gambling, people lie for many and different reasons, so for a gambler to lie to his or her friends or family that he or she won a bet when he is she never did is just is just simply too common to even discuss about it.

I remember one time when I was still into full time in day trading, for a couple of weeks, I was unable to make any profit, I kept losing trades one after the other, and a friend of mine knew about it all because he was always asking me "how was today's trade" every day, and I will tell him that I was unable to make any profit, and at some point, I myself became very tired of telling him the same thing over and over again every day, so I decided to lie to him the next day that I made $90 profit for the few hours I traded, he rejoiced with me, and the next day, I think I made like $10 to $12 profit, but I also lied or him that I made $102 in profit.

So, things like this, i see them as Normal, if I did not win a bet but decides to lie to my fellows that I won, that is completely my business, and who ever choose to believe this lie or not believe, that's his or her business too, it's doesn't take or add anything to me or them.

The only situation where I see that some people fake their winnings is only online. There are some social media groups in which the admins of those groups always publish different winning slips, and they do that so that they can grab the attention of new, inexperienced gamblers and ask them to pay some money so that they can be given some continuous winning tips.

There are so many telegram groups that I know; all they do is publish some fake winning tickets, and they will ask their followers to pay some subscription fee so that they can get some free games that will give them a sure win.

99.9% of those groups are scams, and even the winning tickets they publish are fake. I don't advise anyone to trust such groups.

In terms of admitting the overall, long-term loss made - they'd be mostly lying to themselves to delay admitting they may have a problem and should do something about that. But lying about winning a specific bet is probably only about trying to get some admiration from other people. Lol funny though you can't just use never all gamblers have their own experiences in gambling as well as you. You can't compare yours to others. Yeah is normal that gamblers do accumulate losses. The reason why call it luck that is something you can't control the outcome. There are many reason why some individuals do this, one of the reasons is due to what you wrote while other reasons is to promote their signals groups. Some individuals we see online are advertisement their telegram and other social media channels then they charge other individuals that cyan predict games on their own and looking for a signal groups that they'll join and the group will be give them games to play with hopes of winning them.

Many of those groups are fake and the members all posts fake results online to attract othe gamblers and get referral bonuses from those that use their links to join the group or those they added directly. Sometime, trying to burry your foolishness makes you more foolish. When you engage yourself in such strategy, you will suffer two consequences. Honestly, I remember one thing, where I have a friend who is also the same gambler who I don't really like because his words usually always don't match reality, not only in the world of gambling but in any case in real life he always says something without proof. At that time he came to me and talked that last night he managed to get a big win in a slot game which if simplified more or less the amount could buy a new motorcycle by only using a very small capital, like using 1% capital but managed to get 1000x the amount of victory.

They're mostly lies, those individuals are only looking for attention and they aren't guru or very good at gambling. Gambling is something that is supposed to be even private, it doesn't make much sense when people win to announce to prove to people they won their game.  Since their is no need to show up about winning their is no need to lie about telling people that about a game that was a lose and lying it went well to come out win, no need to prove to people about about how your own money is being spent whether it went well or not. I think it all comes down to if you can trust someone or not.
