Title: Gaurd yourself this year against crypto scams
Post by: Troytech on January 24, 2024, 12:44:37 AM
It's a new year again and we all know what lies in wait, scammers are thinking of more innovative ways to decive and pollute the crypto community again and the one I hate the most are these wannabes that come and taint our fav coin image by creating not just inferiors but empty coins. They come I form of rug pulls, pump and dump all trying to scam crypto users who are ill informed. Not to long from now one new Influencer would start promoting a new rugpull, pls let none of us fall for such silly tricks anymore we are way past that already.

But any way let me remind you of how you can quickly save yourself from falling into these malicious snares.

👉get rid of your get rich quick mentality : I know a lot of persons would be expecting me to say read their whitepaper, but like I said this guys are getting more smart and making a good whitepaper with excellent road map and all would not be a problem to them. But thign I know they can't change so easily is their offers, they would always work on your greed, trying to entice you with silly offers that are so good to be true. I'm crying 😢 right now cause I also wished they were true, but sorry they aren't and don't fall to such this year.

👉 track their anonymously: so far I've noticed that most scams don't project any team members to the public and if they do they are mostly fake and this way could be very effective than reading a whole whitepaper. Check if the project has any real life representative and follow them up and see if they are posting in line with their big project in hand. Why i feel this is a good idea is because they are still afraid of the government too.

👉 yeah and  finally stop listening to influencers: many persons that have fallen for scam was found following one influencer or the other. Just know this people don't have you in mind and would promote any shit to get paid. Always do your own investigations if you must invest in any new project.

👉only invest in bitcoin 😎:  by know we all know that bitcoin is the only reliable crypto right now. And I have history to prove that, to me every other  project is not decentralized as they claim to be because they still have a kind of supervisory body even tho they claim not to, people did fund those projects remember and they would want something, nothing is free, no altcoin is completely decentralized.

Whole bitcoin on the other hand is developed by the bitcoin community and even the creator has no hand in it again . Now there is something we can trust.

Stay safe yall. No scam getting us this year

If you could add pls do we have everyon3 at heart ❤ 💙

Take note though that having a public leader doesn't mean that they can't end up scamming. In fact, some scams aren't in-your-face; it can come in the form of them claiming their platform getting "hacked" or something similar.

There is a tendency to always think of newbies as possible victims, and we try to guide them, but one of the main mistakes is thinking that it will never happen to us, so, overconfidence is what we have to take care of.

The best scam is the one we don't know about, it's obvious, that's why you have to stay informed regardless of your level of knowledge and experience.

I notice that you are creating threads almost everyday. You are making yourself too obvious in hunting for something. You are not even proofreading your posts.

I think it is impossible for a year to have zero victims of scam. That's not possible in crypto. That's not possible outside crypto either. What we can only hope is that the figures of stolen or scammed money at the end of the year is much lower than the previous year. If that continues year after year, that's achievement enough.

So true! That's often how a scams end up a "supreme leader" fool many of people and disappear with billions of dollar.
But IMO it's easy to not get scammed these days because every day we get aware of new scams, so we need to be aware and help each other and rooting for each other!
Also read read do research, start with low amounts and try it out first. Don't be afraid to use Google and look what many different voices say, I been scammed sometimes but never the same way twice.
"Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." - don't know who deserves credit.

And of course we all here have probably get burned at least once, but without mistakes we never learn.

You don't need to think, hundreds of thousand get scammed each day sadly, but what we can do is to go together against scammers, help and give advice share how they scam and minimize the scams.
And as you said "at the end of the year is much lower than the previous year. If that continues year after year, that's achievement enough." So true. But scammers also always find new ways but we are bigger and more, so if we work together we will win in the end!

I was about to create a thread about scams and fraud but since I saw this thread created recently I decided to add the content here:

According to usa.gov here are the top scams that we should be aware of:

Robocalls and scam texts: These are unwanted text and calls that lead you to get scammed, if you want to avoid this kind of scam you can check this link: https://www.fcc.gov/consumers/guides/stop-unwanted-robocalls-and-texts for the tips and further explanation about this kind of fraud/scams.  This is not limited to fiat transactions and since the emergence of cryptocurrency, this kind of scam strategy is also applied to steal people's crypto funds.

Spoofing: this is a disguise as a trusted source that leads people to be a victims of scam.  If anyone is interested to know about this kind of scam, this link: https://www.fbi.gov/how-we-can-help-you/scams-and-safety/common-scams-and-crimes/spoofing-and-phishing gives more information about this scam and how to avoid them.

👉get rid of your get rich scheme mentality : I know a lot of persons would be expecting me to say read their whitepaper, but like I said this guys are getting more smart and making a good whitepaper with excellent road map and all would not be a problem to them.
This step is essential, as greed leads to hasty and irrational thinking, which is how scammers trick you.

👉 track their anonymously: so far I've noticed that most scams don't project any team members to the public and if they do they are mostly fake and this way could be very effective than reading a whole whitepaper. I know a fraudulent woman who used to appear on many channels and promote her currency, but then she disappeared from sight and went to India while stealing millions of dollars from clients’ money.
The lack of photos of team increases the possibility of it being a scam.
fake photos of of team confirms that it is a scam.
The appearance of a team does not necessarily mean that they are good or that it is not a scam.

As a starter yes but for someone with experience, invest long term in Bitcoin and look for every investment opportunity available to you.

I would just like to add you can always try to call their customer support and talk to someone, if you question them and they start getting mad or irrational with you in any way or even short with you that is an obvious sign that they are a scam. No company acting in good faith would make someone feel diminished by anyone even if they questioned their products. Beware of the links you click on especially in emails! Don't fall for phone scams either you know better. Never give any private infomation over the phone/online either unless you are 100% sure of their legitimacy.

The way to protect yourself from such scams is to stop being greedy and accept the fact that there is no easy way to make money without working hard. DON'T blame the creators of scam projects because if we all weren't greedy and didn't have the need to get rich quickly, scam projects would never exist.

I would disagree with this statement. As of now, in addition to bitcoin, we also have projects such as LTC, XMR, ETH, all of which bring significant profits to many investors. So, it would be unfair to assume that BTC is the only trustworthy project.

Actually what you said is true. Though it might sound as a merits fishing post or a repetitive statement. but all I know is that not only newbie are liable to fall to scam attempt, but to anyone. Information is one of the factor that keeps this forum going on for decade and it has become a part of us and even if it's repeated frequently I never get tired of it. because you might be moved to scam attempt but coming in contact with some post, it calms your mind down of nearly becoming a victim. Being a newbie does not mean not being able to educate people on some things. Some times the best way for newbie to learn faster is by teaching people what dey have learnt, in form of creating a thread. So even if it's from a newbie, let's just be guided on our crypto activities.

most of the people who are scammed are those who want to quickly profit from the crypto market and have little knowledge about investing in cryptocurrency. they are too impatient and tempted by the short-term high profits offered by scammers, so they don't care about the risks when they invest for the first time.

that's why it's important for investors to find out first about the cryptocurrency/crypto project they want to invest in. learn about its track record in the market and the credibility of its development team. if they have done that, their risk of being scammed will decrease.

or safer, if investors want to invest in cryptocurrency but don't want to get scammed, they can choose to invest in popular coins such as ethereum, litecoin, tron, or others. but what is safer is of course bitcoin, because the fundamentals have been clearly proven.

1.There's nothing wrong with the "Get rich" mentality. Most of the people have such mentality, and this is what motivates them to invest in Bitcoin/crypto. The problem is the "get rich quick" mentality and the belief and you will make absurd amounts of money by investing in projects that sound too good to be true.
2. 99,9% of the crypto influencers are clowns anyway. If you make financial decisions because some crypto "guru" on TikTok or IG told you that X shitcoin is going to hit the moon, then you deserve your faith.
3.Investing in BTC only is way too conservative. I don't mind investing in the Top 10 altcoins. Investing in shitcoins and shit-tokens is a big mistake.

The pump and dump coins are for the risk takers and those that understand it make money from it but that is after the team, if they are lucky. Some investors like fast speed money spilling shit coins, nothing wrong if you have the fast money mentality but you have to cover your risk by knowing what you want to go in for.

For newbies, it is not a good decision to taste the waters that not very many investors have confirmed, it is better to stay with top coins whose leader is bitcoin.

There are people that constantly try to steal money from people who make money, and the cryptocurrency industry is no exception. Scammers appear to be attempting to devise increasingly creative methods as time goes on to defraud people of their money. The frequency of frauds and scam enterprises will rise as the bull run approaches, and it is our responsibility to protect our assets during this time. It is never acceptable to be unaware of something, especially when scammers take advantage of you by tricking you into investing in the wrong project or disclosing personal information.

As they say, "Knowledge is power," pursuing knowledge gives us the advantage over scammers.  It will be simpler to detect scams from a distance if you recognise the many methods and strategies scammers utilise. Investing in altcoins increases the risk of falling for pump and dump or rug pull scams.  To my knowledge, investing in Bitcoin is the safest cryptocurrency investment. However, if someone is interested in other cryptocurrencies, they should do some research or, better yet, choose well-known cryptocurrencies to reduce the risk and chance of being scammed.

Quote
👉get rid of your get rich scheme mentality

Many people have found themselves in difficult financial positions as a result of this mentality, their haste to get money quickly causes them to make decisions without fully thinking them through. Any site that offers free money or a rapid return is probably lying to draw investors to their platform because, in the cryptocurrency market, everyone is wanting to earn more money. As a result, there are actually no platforms that have money to give away. The majority of people who lack sufficient knowledge about cryptocurrencies are individuals who have the mindset of wanting to make a quick profit, they become impatient in their efforts to acquire knowledge and easily attracted by any small offer that seems to promise them a quick profit.

Common mistakes of new investors in investing in bitcoin, but the thing is, they are afraid of investing in bitcoin because they know how much they need without thinking that they can invest in bitcoin via the DCA method, and because of that, they will find their own coin, or they will seek those coins that seem promising. They will be swayed by the white paper or the hype without analysing on their own if the coin they see is legit. Airdrop is one of the schemes that scammers use. They will give airdrops from their coins, and before the investor transfers the amount to their wallet, they will be required to deposit money or an asset.

I slightly disagree with this. There are many altcoins out there that have potential, and for as I called myself a self-hunter, I hunt or look for those new coins that are in the market that have the potential, or more like I'm taking advantage of the freshness of the coins. If I analyse that the coin will pump even a little, then I will hoard a lot of its coins while its price is cheap, and if I see that the market for those coins will be gone, then I will sell all of my holdings. It's all about analysing the market and potential coins, so you just need to make an effort and put in hard work.

The next level of people would be those who are aware of such scams and yet they will take a risk and invest in scam projects because they want to get rich quickly. Scammers will keep coming up with new rules, so following established methods may lead you to become the victim of a new scam. Therefore, the more skeptical you are, the rarely you try to take risks in something you do not understand, and the more you try to learn, the less likely you are to be deceived. Therefore, science, knowledge, skepticism, research and understanding anything. Before taking any action, these are necessary things to avoid scam.

Following fixed rules will not help you much.

Having a mentality of getting rich is for me a very good mindset. What's bad is having a mindset of getting rich "QUICKLY".
Both have different meanings. A single word can change it all. One is good to have, and one is bad to have. To all users here, have a mentality where you can get rich by investing into crypto, but at the same time, learn more for you not to have a mindset where you need to get rich in the quickest way possible.

Most of the time, having anonymous team members turns out to be a scam, and I don't know if some projects turned out to be successful despite the developers being anonymous, but I believe there are a few of them. Overall, showing the true identity of the team members is a plus for us investors, but also take note that some developers are just getting their face online - kind of like photo-grabbing.

👉 yeah and  finally stop listening to influencers: many persons that have fallen for scam was found following one influencer or the other. Just know this people don't have you in mind and would promote any shit to get paid. Always do your own investigations if you must invest in any new project.
Nope. I disagree with this one.
You just need to follow the correct influencers that will help you. I know many influencers on YouTube are there just to shill out the projects that paid them, but there are still some who are posting good and informative content for us viewers to digest. I'm following influencers who are posting more on sharing their Technical Analysis than those influencers who are posting new projects and their opinions on it. Not all influencers are the same, so don't generalize them all.

👉only invest in bitcoin 😎:  by know we all know that bitcoin is the only reliable crypto right now. One of the worst advice that I can get online.

I don't want to follow this advice not only because I don't want to focus only on Bitcoin, but there are other altcoins out there that are still worthy of investing your money in. You just need to spend some time researching on them. Maybe if you're a lazy investor and you don't want to conduct research then yes focus on Bitcoin, but for me, I don't want to focus on a single coin only especially if I know that I can get more profit by investing into altcoins.

Yes there are some people who want to get rich quick they invest in all these places.  They face many problems.  Before investing you must know and invest well.  But most of all, newbies get into this problem and invest in all this without realizing it.  And those who understand want to get rich in a short time.  But it is the opposite of becoming rich and falling into loss. They have to lose everything because of their greed.

Yeah newbies are mostly their targets and we do have a lot of them coming in each year into the crypto space, in fact some scammers would even be the one to introduce them to bitcoin just to scam them at last, there are improving every year on their tricks. At times I just have to say it, ' They are damn good'

The topic of scammers and that of the protection of the private key or seed phrases can not be overemphasized because as new users of bitcoin joins the community, they need to be aware as promptly as possible on the dangers and risks enshrined in it and how many of them can end up being monitored by scammers and subsequently scammed of their resources due to lack of basic knowledge on the security and privacy of their keys.

The quick steps I will advise anyone who just got a private key to do is to keep them very dear to your heart thereby securing it in cold wallets and other offline, off device platforms like writing it in your will. I have drafted my will and kept the private key there so that my family can inherit it too.

I believe everyone here is susceptible to scams, regardless of how long you’ve been in the market, that will never guarantee that the scammers will never keep an eye on you. They will always try to be smarter and wiser so they can find ways to take advantage on us, otherwise they won’t fulfill their jobs if they fail on their craft.

In spite of the fact that newbies usually fall as the victims, since they don’t have enough exposure on the market, but long time traders and investors should also never feel confident enough because the moment that these scammers find a hole in us, they will surely grab and proceed on planning on how we will fall on their traps. Scammers are actually intelligent on their own ways, otherwise they won’t be staying in their job if they are not good and skillful enough.

Hence, getting the right information is the key. Not only on how to stay in profits with your trading and investing career, but also be updated on the current strategies of how these scammers are scamming. Once we are seeing the same thing is happening to us, then be alert enough to get rid from those scammers and block them if possible.

I think it is impossible for a year to have zero victims of scam. That's not possible in crypto. That's not possible outside crypto either. What we can only hope is that the figures of stolen or scammed money at the end of the year is much lower than the previous year. If that continues year after year, that's achievement enough.

The problem is not just the scammers. Scammers gonna scam. The bigger problem is that there will always be people who will fall for their scams. Education and awareness are solutions to this. But I'm afraid it doesn't end there. There are people who are too greedy, too lazy, too careless, etc. A scam that is too dumb as to offer or even guarantee as high as x10 for an investment on a daily or monthly basis can still attract victims. You would wonder how that is possible.

Stay safe yall. No scam getting us this year

If you could add pls do we have everyon3 at heart ❤ 💙
Sometimes getting scammed can give us a higher alertness and can also know that scammers are constantly evolving to be able to always get victims and that makes us become vigilant.
Newbies become victims of scams may be easier but it could be not because he is a newbie but not vigilant because actually there are many articles that provide knowledge of the characteristics of scam actions but greed closes healthy logic because the practice of scammers always offers high profits that are impossible to get by the way it should be.

The worst part is that no matter how many articles are published or how much awareness drive is created newbies will fall for scams. The next level of people would be those who are aware of such scams and yet they will take a risk and invest in scam projects because they want to get rich quickly. This is a never-ending journey and to date, people fall for phishing emails and fake airdrops. A new wave of scams has already started after AIs have been launched and these scams are not easy to identify and have far bad consequences.
When someone understands that investing in every place will make them rich, of course they will make the wrong choice in choosing the type of investment that suits their abilities and it would be better for them to understand well about the investments they make so that they can benefit from the investments they make and Also, don't let them choose a type of investment that they don't understand well so that they lose their money in that investment.

For those who are just starting to invest, of course they will find problems if they don't understand the type of investment they are making and it is important for them to learn about this if they want profits in that investment. If a beginner only understands investing, they will quickly have a lot of money, of course. This is a wrong thing in understanding investment, of course it requires a process that they have to go through to be able to get a profit from the investment they make.

Yes, the last tip is my favorite: “Invest only in Bitcoin.”

This is absolutely true. After many failed experiments over the past years, it has been proven to me that investing in Bitcoin is the safest and most successful investment out of all other investments. Bitcoin, as everyone knows, is the most reliable coin and has one upward trend in the long term.

Greed and dreams of quick wealth are the primary reason why so many victims fall into the trap, so it is necessary to spread knowledge and expose the methods of scammers.

I think the biggest fraud risks lie in phishing sites and apps on the one hand and social engineering on the other. This is something that is actually difficult to resist. Remember the story of investor M. Cuban, who downloaded the Metamask phishing application and thus lost about $1 million.
And in Bitcoin, especially for a beginner, there are even more opportunities for fraud. It’s difficult for a beginner to understand everything. There are currently 7 types of addresses in Bitcoin alone. Or, for example, not all beginners know tricks for sending Bitcoins with zero commission. Or fraud with partially signed transactions. Fraudsters have many methods.)

You would be surprised by the extent and to what limit they are willing to go  in order to carry out a very precise scam. Scammers are evolving everyday and the same way you are being updated about information that's the same way they too get these informations if not nothing I can even say they are more relentless when it comes to achieving their goal thats why I don't believe any calls whatsoever from any team members because if the scammers are out and serious they could formulate all these things, I mean how hard could it be for scammers to set up other scammers themselves as team members.

That is true. Sometimes, even those who are already aware that has enough experience may fall for phishing websites if not being too careful. A lot of people are not too techy to understand the complexity of crypto transactions, and yeah it is difficult to resist especially when your bitcoin address got too engaged in a lot of transactions, you'll probably gonna attract the scammers and hackers, thus you'll become one of the target.
I think having a secure wallet, a main wallet which you will not engage into a lot of transactions could be a lot safer by keeping it with low profile. When you become the target, it is difficult to spot whether or not you're already being attacked.

Sometimes the knowledge you have about those scams can play against you, and this is because if you know it all about the most common scams, this could lead you to believe you cannot be scammed, not be as careful as you should be and make a mistake.

So learning about all the ways we can be scammed is important, but we need to remain humble and remember that anyone can be scammed if we make a single mistake, and as such we need to keep being vigilant so this does not happen to us.

It's important to understand that scammers come in different forms and use different patterns but one thing always remains the same; they will always target to get info about your private keys. That's for the crypto scammers but general scammers will need info leading to where you keep your funds. The bull season is getting close and despite the number of times we warn users to be wary of such cheap tricks by these people, there'd still be those who will fall victim simply because they fail to adhere to Op's number 1 point which is the getting rich quick mentality.
Some investors are so greedy and impatient at the same time that they want quick profits and as such fail to see that these scammers use these get rich quick scheme as bait to trap them, hence the need to always be on your guard to avoid being a victim.
I'd love to add a point to what the op has dropped on how to be on guard against such scams and it's;
 - never mix online dating and investment advice
It's self explanatory because doing this will only make you open to any scam as its obvious that you are vulnerable at that moment.

What you are saying is what is expected from an investor new to the crypto market. Whereas a lot of these newbies rely on what their friends tell them to do as they are introduced to crypto by their friends. Then there are scam advertisements and social media information with their urge to become rich fast takes them to the path of getting scammed. It is not that easy to stay with the continuous changes and trends of the crypto market, rather gathering information from the internet which takes time they always go for shortcuts and lose it all.

Scams are always rebranded and when people think they know it all that is when they will showcase a new form of scam that is why you see people keep falling for scams and the thing is that the way guys put in effort just to scam you is surprising and once they start chatting with you the next thing will be that they want to introduce and gradually they start requesting for details. and now that bull is about to start. so there will be a lot of scams cooking so we all have to be careful out there. anything that makes these guys get hold of your private key then your funds are gone. the getting rich quick thing, people feel they can take any kind of risk. and forgetting some risk will fetch them nothing and cost them their lives.

People are naturally greedy and at all costs want to make enough profit from their investments and that is why they fall victim to investment scams not because of anything but because of the money. the profit looks good then the next thing is to start investing. even without considering the nature of how the investment is been run. and their simple ways to always avoid these scams but people won't listen.

You have right but some people is not as smart as rest of us the most people that fall for this is very old or Impeding function and they don't compete on same terms as rest of us and Ttis is what kind of people they target often.
Sadly in Europe it's like only Arabic's and African's doing this so it could be a easy solution to stop this, and no I am not a racist at all I just speaking truth.
Also on internet. Just go to a P2P-crypto website you will see a lot of scams and the scammers is more or less only from Kenya, Nigeria & China (And it's so sad because they destroy reputation for their honest compatriots)

People that scamming and targeting targets like those deserve nothing else then a slowly very painful _____. One day they will be busted IRL, I know people working on this so it will come a day things like scams like this will die out to around 80% but as you said we can never make it disappear to 100%. But if one person do as good as she/he can we can go very far to avoid it.

And I think people should have the right to be dumb and not have to worry about getting scammed. The problem is the scammers, always the scammers!, if they stop exist. scam stop exist even as I said  I agree with what you saying and this could be a perfect way to start decrease scams at the same time we also fight against scammers.

👍
Quote
Education and awareness are solutions to this
👍

No scammers=No's scam and I think no one deserved to get scammed. That is like giving those scammers and excuse toscam "If they so stupid they deserve it". And I think we should not give them that.
But you are right in what you saying and it's something we should look into, the education. But this is far way bigger then this little forum. It's a big problem in the world.

When you want to give advice, you must believe in what you say or at least have experience so that people believe in your words. However, if you say contradictory words, the result will be negative and no one will care about your words.

One should always be careful with scams, frauds and too-good-to-be-true programs especially online. Because it would be a lot easier for scammers to reach out to millions these days, this illicit business has become a multi-billion dollar enterprise. In the crypto space, there are so many new projects and programs that are downright scams...and it is sad that they can be able to victimize people as they know how to appeal to greed. They are everywhere, in any industry but a lot noticeable here in cryptocurrency industry. Education is always the big key to combat scams.

I really find it hard how you to fail to understand simple English words, if I'm not mistaken I said if you must you can have only two altcoins to diversify. Now how is that contradictory, not every one would be okay with investing in only bitcoin, so what is bad about  been open minded for others.
And so far I've noticed you really don't have anything to say about how we can save ourselves from scam this year, find some other thread to engage in and shut 🤬

Una remember the story of  squid game, how they just come out with hype carry people money run. I no go fit advice say make una invest in only bitcoin, but make una try do good research, infact if possible pick only 2 altcoins invest in. But know say na only bitcoin wey dey fully guarantee.

This is the thread your talking about right. I wrote this in my local language, if your from Nigeria you can interpret for others too, I said "I can't advice anyone to invest in only bitcoin,  but you can try to do your own research, infact if possible pick only two altcoins and invest in. But know that only bitcoin is fully guaranteed."

Now how is this contradictory.
Mr fundamental, I guess you need to get yourself some fundamental information before going around spoiling people's reputation in this forum and I think you have to recycle ♻️ your mindset. I'm not very good at English speaking thats why my post might seem a little inconsistent, but nobody but you complained and Instead of contributing or giving correct to a newbie, you felt like showing superiority. Show good examples, next time Mr don't know what the fuck to contribute 😠.

Protecting yourself from scammers has always been a hot issue, not only this year, as mentioned in the OP.
The topic of fraud will always be popular, as will the topic of everything new where people can make a profit. But also, even though we are aware of some methods of fraud, a regular reminder will always be relevant. There were and are a lot of projects that can be called "honeypot," and they are designed for investors in only one direction: to collect as much money as possible from investors and then leave with their money. For beginners, in order not to get a bunch of bad experiences, as the OP correctly noted, it is better to trust Bitcoin. And then, when the understanding comes that not all that glitters is beautiful, that is, if you see beautiful numbers talking about your quick profit, you should not invest your money in all this, you can take a closer look at some other coins.

Scammers will never stop what they are doing and will continue to look for different methods to defraud people. It is necessary to pay attention to projects like the ones you mentioned. So, we must research well and be careful when investing at a time like this. In the age of technology, fraud has increased and continues to increase.

The ambition to make easy money and become rich leads people to make mistakes. When this thought is prevented, many mistakes can be prevented. We must always be careful and protect ourselves not only this year but every year. For this, it is necessary to be knowledgeable and develop oneself against dangers.

I agree with you, I used to be amazed at influencers and how they market and promote the investments and services they offer, but now I'm slowly learning that they can trick other people, even if their claims on something are not true.they will make it a way to make it more believable in the eyes and minds of their viewers.

Many people are probably going to hate this idea but the best way to guide yourself against crypto scam is to have more money in Bitcoin, like maybe 80% in BTC and use the rest 20% on other projects, because alternative projects are more risky than Bitcoin.

If the 20% failed Bitcoin won't fail you, this is a certain compare to altcoins, all you need to do is good research to make sure that you aren't making some scammers rich, mind you, scammers will always come up with better plans to scam people, be careful of greed and your ambition to make big money, if it's too good to be true its probably a scam.

You should be fine if you are not too greedy, go for the best and stop looking for huge money to make, it's better to the expose to small risks and make some money than be exposed to big risk projects and if loss comes with will come big.

One should always be aware of crypto capital scams however some projects are such scams that it is not easy to get rid of. But there are always unpleasant incidents like hacking that we have to be careful about. If you can always keep the Bitcoin wallets safe and secure, it seems that you can protect yourself from scamming.

Not to long from now one new Influencer would start promoting a new rugpull, pls let none of us fall for such silly tricks anymore we are way past that already.
The influencer may not just be someone online who has followers, it also can be a close friend or a close family member who may be promoting a new project, someone who you take their word seriously and they are telling you about a project and they may or may not know if it is a scam fake project or not because they themselves have been fooled. To avoid mistakes like this, always do your own research on projects even if they were introduced to you by someone with more knowledge in cryptocurrency than you, even if the project is being introduced to you by someone who introduced you to bitcoins, learn to verify.

Those who introduce a new project will certainly only say good things and will not say anything bad about the project, so we cannot just believe about the project even though they have explained the project well and I agree with what you say we need to look for. Know this information yourself so that you don't make a mistake in deciding to enter this project, because if we only hear about the project from other people and we continue to try it, of course this will be very risky and we will lose the money we have.

You nailed it mate. Even people who has knowledge about cryptocurrency  aren't safe because sometimes we are dominated by greed. I know people that are into crypto but still they fall victim to scams.
As long as they find hints in them to be potential victims, regardless if they are new in the market or not, scammers will obviously target them in the best way possible. This is why everyone should exercise caution when investing or trading in the market because scammers will always have an eye on everyone and immediately take advantage on them whenever they see some lapses. Be informed always and continue to gain the right information as much as possible.

Maybe everyone is aware of this, because I also feel that there is no get-rich-quick scheme even if there is it is very, very impossible to do, especially since getting rich is not easy and instant, it all requires a process that is so beautiful to go through and not everyone can go through it. For me, don't rush to get rich quickly because the rich will automatically come to our lives with a note that we are ready to get rich.

always verify and always make some indepth research if ever there's something new information that you do able to grasps with. Dont make yourself that get easily fooled or would really be able to believe
because even if its your close friend or even into your own family, you cant really just that make out some step forward without trying out to verify whether its a good one or not.
No matter how you do trust them but when it comes to money then we should really be that skeptical about new recommendations and suggestions on which you should really be that checking

Its our money to invest not theirs, so it is really just that right that you should really be that making those in depth reviews and verifications so that you could

Be mindful and be wary about the risks involved and always pertain about its pros and cons most of the time.

As much as many newbies invest to different cryptocurrencies, they won't invest on Bitcoin only. That's the fact that I've seen for so many of them.

They want to maximize their profit as they say because they will say that it's quite late investing in Bitcoin. So, what they do is they're on the search on the next crypto that will give them short term profit.

And having said that, the bad thing for many of them is that they're falling to scam projects just because for having that thought that they might make some money out of it.

Due diligence requires some necessary tools to check whether the project is fraudulent or not.
There are many tools on the internet that can be used to do detailed research about teams, roadmaps and much more.

You can read the thread

There are many useful tools, although this is an old thread,

Not only about the stupidity of the victim, but the cleverness of scammers is now also increasing.
There are many new methods used by utilizing Ai and such, so scam projects look like profitable projects.
There are many projects that pop up and then just abandon or Rug pull all of a sudden, so anyone needs to be careful.

The biggest thing is that during the bull period people have profits that they are more risky with, and that causes some issues. I am not saying that it would be smart thing to avoid that, but it would be a lot more common. When there is a big increase, you get to make a lot of money, and because you make a lot of money, you feel more rich, and spending a few hundred bucks on something risky doesn't feel too bad for you. That is why we need to remember that it shouldn't really be a problem.

I think it is quite obvious that people would have some trouble if they are not careful about it. I know that it is going to be troubled, but we need to end up with something that should get some time, it is not going to be easy to avoid all of them.

They're taking the bait and if they're making a profit, they will just ignore the potential scams that they meet along their way.

And soon, when they stepped on the wrong projects, they'll ask people if they can be helped with the problem that they're dealing and that's how to recover their money from those scammers.

But when they does, it's too late because they understand that this is crypto and transactions can't be reversed.

The biggest crypto scam (https://phemex.com/academy/cryptocurrency-glossary/crypto-scams) to watch out for is phishing emails. If you're new to the market, be cautious: whenever you get an email claiming your Binance, Coinbase, or Robinhood account is suspended or something similar, DO NOT click on any links in the email.

Always scrutinize the sender's email address when you receive a message from a crypto exchange platform. Even if the email looks legit, it's safer not to click on any links. Instead, directly log into your account through the official website. This way, you avoid the risk of falling prey to phishing attempts.

What you said in your post-op is okay, except for the fact that Bitcoin is the only reliable crypto for investment. Are you sure? Maybe you can't prove that? What about the other cryptos like Athereum, Bnb, Matic, Solana, Cardano, and others that are top altcoins in the market? Are they not reliable to you, and we can't get profit from them?

I hope that if you post what you have to say here, it will not be mixed with deception and fraud for the readers in this forum. Clarify and fix it; it's not like you're causing confusion in other communities here.

Greed is a terrible investment advisor. Before jumping into any crypto project, it's crucial to ditch the "get rich quick" mentality and embrace the role of a responsible investor. Do your research! Dig into the project's whitepaper, understand its technology and purpose, and scrutinize the team behind it. Are they experienced? Transparent? Do their claims hold water? Remember, a fancy website and slick marketing don't guarantee legitimacy.

And nobody's immune to scams, not newbies, not seasoned veterans. We all have blind spots, moments of vulnerability where a well-crafted con can slip through. That's why repetition isn't a bug, it's a feature. It's a hammer beating away at the complacency that allows scams to flourish.

The best scam is the one we don't know about, it's obvious, that's why you have to stay informed regardless of your level of knowledge and experience.

That's a good point. People often think that they can't get scammed because they are not newbies and they know everything about scams and stuff, but they ignore the fact that there can be scams that they don't know about, and everyone is a newbie for scams that are new and hasn't been tried on anyone yet or isn't much popular yet. We should also not forget that scammers are getting smarter day by day, if we can crack their methods of scamming, they can find new ways as well.
So basically, somewhere out there, we are all vulnerable to scams and scammers but we don't know it until we get scammed. This is why, one should always be vigilant and have at least basic knowledge about how scams are done and should be sound about what they are doing and what they are being asked to do.

That is the sad part about rising crypto prices, the number of scammers also increases. With the Bitcoin price getting expensive again it will not only bring more investors back to the market again, also it becomes more profitable for scammers to streal some coins. Which is why it's so important to protect ourselves and our money. If something sounds too good to be true, than it's mostly like scam and we should avoid it. Over the last few months I noticed a rise in scam emails, calls, text messages and even WhatsApp messages. Everything including suspicious links that I should click. Even though I have two different anti-virus software, I would never click on a link from a person that I don't know. When it comes to money we need to responsible and have realistic expectations about the future. We all can dream from time to time, just don't trust strangers that promise us the world.

It is evidently true that cryptocurrencies scam has increased over the years with a realization that more persons are getting involved and some want to invest in it so as to free themselves from the regular fiat banks who have access to ones account at anytime and can debit any account for charges or fees or loan debts without giving a prior notice to the owner of the account.

These scammers have deviced new ways that is just a charade and what's the worst is the too-good -to- be- true offers they spell out.
Bitcoin is authentic in itself and upon great scrutiny it got its ETF approval done as planned despite the noise and flaws of other crypto currency that has existed and failed.

Don't click on anyhow links, don't use exchange wallets, follow up on BTC news and join the community where questions can be asked, and investigation made to rectify any false news or transactions.

I for one like to proof read before adopting any new initiative and I suggest everyone planning to get the best from cryptocurrencies investment this year, mostly BTC, should do same.

Newbies are easy targets, sure. Their naivety and lack of knowledge are like open doors for scammers. But veterans aren't immune either. These cunning chameleons adapt, evolve, and refine their tactics with every successful con. They're constantly searching for cracks in our armor, those tiny vulnerabilities that can be exploited with the right bait.

Remember, scammers are masters of manipulation. They play on our greed, our fear, our desperation, weaving webs of deceit so convincing, they could make a silk spider weep. They tap into our emotions, our blind spots, and exploit them with the cold precision of a laser surgeon.

But information alone isn't enough. We need to be vigilantly skeptical, constantly questioning, double-checking, and fact-checking. Don't believe everything you read, see, or hear. Trust your gut, and if something smells fishy, swim the other way, fast!

All depends on our efforts in limiting ourselves in the end because after all if we are not careless and always protect the wallet that we have then indeed the risk of fraud is actually still very much able to be minimized because in any case when talking about fraud in this case it is not only about the perpetrator bad intentions but on the other hand we are also the ones who end up neglecting it.

The thieves may always be stalking us but if we are always vigilant and thorough in all forms of action related to our wallet it can actually be one of the options so that we avoid fraud.
Indeed we cant prohibit fraudsters or thieves from taking action but we can limit ourselves from being fooled by the ways that criminals always do to control our wallets.

Take note though that having a public leader doesn't mean that they can't end up scamming. In fact, some scams aren't in-your-face; it can come in the form of them claiming their platform getting "hacked" or something similar.

Also: https://chainsec.io/scams
Yes, the times when scams were solely perpetrated by anonymous individuals are gone. As crypto industry has evolved, more elaborated concepts of scams have appeared. Now it's totally possible to be scammed by a regulated company, which has a staff team and CEO everyone knows the faces, names and addresses. FTX and Celsius are good examples of that. Sam Bankman-Fried, from FTX, even had legitimacy from news' portals which interviewed him and shared his exotic, humanist and philanthropist lifestyle. Alex Mashinsky from Celsius was always vocal and belligerent against traditional banking system, saying "banks aren't your friends".

All the notoriety, regulations and self-propaganda did help their businesses to conquer the trust from a larger audience than usual anonymous scam ponzi schemes from crypto industry were used to, but they didn't prevent these platforms to be so scammy like any other anonymous ponzi scheme from past years...

If this whole story leaves a lesson, it is to not trust anyone, including crypto entrepreneurs and authorities plus their regulations, as they don't give you any guarantees in the end. Therefore, always go for self-custody when storing your coins, or at least the biggest portion of your funds.

The more we think about money, the more possible we fall into scams because these scam projects offer good-to-be true rewards that could really tempt someone. And very unfortunate that this is what actually happened to most of us before we found out that it was a scam.

 - stay informed
 - take extra effort to do research
 - never rush
 - be cautious in new projects

Legit projects don't offer huge shares but scam projects offer impossible things...it is easy to find them out unless we think always about money.

That's what's up and it's a good wake up call, if money's the only thing that's on our mind and we can't focus about other things like assessment of the investment that's presented to you, when you only think of the money that's coming out when the profiting starts, it's probably a bad idea to even consider investing because you're counting the chicks before the eggs have hatched. Best approach for this kind of thing is to always have a mindset that when something is too good to be true, it probably is and if that's the doubt then always ask questions and take the time to consider, don't let them speed up your decision so you can take a step back and ask more questions that can confirm those doubts.

Almost got scammed in my first month diving into crypto. Signed up on Coinbase and bam, started getting these sketchy emails saying my account was on the fritz or suspended. Man, those phishing emails looked so legit, I was this close to falling for it!

Honestly, Coinbase was pretty meh two years back. The security felt kinda iffy, like anyone could send you a fake alert and you'd buy it. And don't get me started on their customer service and the app – it was a bit of a headache, to say the least. Really wasn’t the smooth intro to crypto I was hoping for.

If you're just getting into crypto, watch out for these sneaky scams. Always double-check where your emails are coming from and don't hand out your personal info unless you're 100% sure it's safe. The crypto world's full of these tricky scams, so better to keep your eyes peeled and stay sharp, especially with platforms that are still getting their act together.

The main act of scammers is how they can steal a person's money using safe techniques. Here some steal and some trick with the holders and deliberately deprive them of their wealth. There is no substitute for self-awareness to be safe from these scammers. Also, those who are influnced by the influencers should never be greedy in showing any project because they try to spread such projects in the community in exchange for money. They do not judge whether it is good or bad. Do your own research before investing.

Bitcoin is undoubtedly the best investment in terms of investment, but if one doesn't do his own research , I think he won't be great harmed. But one must be aware of when and how long to hold the investment. In investing in Bitcoin an investor must have a long hold otherwise his investment may be risky. But since Bitcoin's halving will take place soon, those who invest now will certainly have the opportunity to profit much more from their investment by 2025.

Investing in bitcoin does not require someone to have a get rich quick scheme mindset. Investing in bitcoin should give you the mindset of comfortability and not that of get rich quick. It is only whe investing in shitcoins and meme coins that the mindset of x200 will be in the investor.
Checking the whitepaper is still a good way to know scam projects. A scammer would not use 200% of his time and effort to write a whitepaper he will likely dump the next month. They end up plagiarising the whitepaper.

Tracking the people behind the project has always been a good means to know a genuine project. Ensure real people with a proven track record are behind the project. And not people with unreal social media followers and hiding in the face mask. Money is hard to make and shouldn't be given out easily.

Most of the times, influencers are co-scammers but wearing the shepherd's clothing to deceive gullible investors.

You cannot advice that we should only invest in Bitcoin, what happens to the other coins? Also bitcoin is not the only reliable coin but you can say that Bitcoin is the most reliable coin and that's good. I endorse freedom, anyone should invest in any good coin. Ethereum is nice, BNB has made name and likewise some other altcoins.

This is really important to consider by newbies and they don't need to rush their decision especially on investment so that they will not fall down on those scams. Much really better if they have all of those traits so that they can consider all the risk gotten by their decision to invest on something they are not familiar with.

If they have all of this attitude and know how to deal with those things especially these risky investment matter for sure there chance to get scam is so low that's why its important to be financially literate since it could help avoid those scams and always go with those investment which have sense. Although this might be hard to achieve especially if we are so new in the industry but once we experience to deal something risky and get compromise for sure next time we would learn how to be careful on our investments.

As technology advances and easier ways to make money come along, new scammers will continue to come up with new rules .
So if you don't follow the right procedure and are not careful, you can fall victim to a new scam anytime .
There are certain procedures you may need to follow to avoid scams. Like don't risk investing in something you don't understand.
You must be very skeptical , meaning you won't trust anyone easily without proof. You have to take risks knowingly. Try to learn new methods. Then your chances of getting cheated will be greatly reduced.

Not just phishing emails. When it comes to bullruns, there will be many mainstream networks and many scammers will emerge, such as airdrops or presales that aim to link wallets. If we accidentally or intentionally link or click on a link, the money in our wallet can drain. Apart from that, there will be phishing such as copying and pasting crypto addresses, where if our device has been contaminated with this virus, then copying and pasting the crypto address can automatically change to a crypto phishing address, therefore you need to be careful and double check before confirming crypto transactions.

You nailed it mate. Even people who has knowledge about cryptocurrency  aren't safe because sometimes we are dominated by greed. I know people that are into crypto but still they fall victim to scams.
When it comes to scamming, I think everyone will fall as a target. So we should not be confident that only newbies are the apple of the eye of the scammers, there is no excuse to that. With or without knowledge, if we let our emotions overcome our own mind, then we will fall eventually on their traps.

Getting the right and updated information is the key. If we see things that are too good to be true, then avoid it immediately so we won’t fall into future scams.

If things are too unrealistic then trust your instincts and avoid from those platforms and projects. They want foolishness and greed from their victims. Of course they would make offers which can lure investors' attention for their own benefit. If it is with project's legitimacy then there are ways to basically lessen the chance of being scammed. Try joining communities inside and outside thiss forum. Also consider checking the project's platforms and look for reviews and opinions from its audiences. You may also consider directly asking in this forum for opinion and all of these won't cost you any dime. Solutions are not that expensive and sometimes all we need is eagerness and will if you are wanting to avoid those suspiscious crypto projects.
The more we think about money, the more possible we fall into scams because these scam projects offer good-to-be true rewards that could really tempt someone. And very unfortunate that this is what actually happened to most of us before we found out that it was a scam.

It is normal to expect for monetary returns when checking for possible projects to invest; that's the sole reason why you are investing anyway. Problem is with misleading information. Many projects are failing but that doesn't mean they are all fraudalent. There are instances people are confused of these two concepts. Scam projects are those which are not even finishing their token sale and those which are unresponsive when it comes to project's long term growth. Fortunately, I only encountered failing ones on my stay in this industry and never been a victim of scam related projects. Again, it is normal to be eyeing with profit however we shouldn't be too greedy of it that we would be "gambling" our money which is different from investing.

Thanks for the info mate, as I believe a reminder of certain scam information is never enough. Well I would like to add that it's not only the new year that can guarantee people to such scams but I believe the upcoming bull season too is a centered area for scammers and I believe alot of us despite the warning will still fall victim because of the urge to get huge and quick profits maybe due to shit project that offers such opportunity for you. This period is a period that one need to be careful if not regret will be your end result for a time when most persons will be happy that they bought Bitcoin and held till the price went high.

Whole bitcoin on the other hand is developed by the bitcoin community and even the creator has no hand in it again . Now there is something we can trust.

Stay safe yall. No scam getting us this year

If you could add pls do we have everyon3 at heart ❤ 💙

You are right about the influencers. Most of the influencers lie about the returns and scope of crypto to sell related services. These type of over promises are so much sugar coated that new investors easily fall prey to this. Government should have strict laws punishing these kind of influencers.

Also, there should be more awareness from investor point of view. If an investor is aware, no one can make him fool. He will remain financially sound and make better financial decisions.

Well that's true. I hope every country has the same regulations like the one on the US where influencers or promotors should be liable on their action if ever they promoted something that scam people. As far as I remember there are celebrities that paid the price on the court as they promoted scam NFTs on their own platform before.

Sadly, we don't have that kind of law on our country that's why there's a lot of influencers taking advantage of their reach to do paid promotions and some influencers doesn't even do a research on what they are promoting since it is riskless to them.

Are crypto scams more sophisticated than the average 'pls help send money' or 'I'm a prince and I've lost my account details. Send now...etc'

I haven't seen any crypto scams which worries me! Maybe I just didn't spot them because they're camouflaged so well.

Most of the time we just learn when already commit mistakes and experience bad investments. And I've seen this most in newbies, I admit I have experienced it before which is why falling into scam projects seemed normal in the past but this time, I believe the information and experience shared by old-timers gives some ideas on how to determine a scam from project from legit one. That is why we can't blame the market for our losses but have to blame ourselves for being too careless.

In general, falling into scam projects is our fault and we should take action before it happens again. Maybe having the first time is acceptable but having in 2nd time, there is a problem with us that we need to correct as much as possible.

Most of these influencer don’t even know what they are advertising if we want to look closely, they are just about their pay that’s all that matter them as long they stick to the script. And cause of this people have been lured to their downfall, now we see the effect of influencing, they don’t care if what they are promoting is killing the masses as long as their bankroll is topping up,  the funny thing here is that they may not personally want to get involve, some even know little or nothing about crypto and the space at large, they are some people who take these celebrities as their role model and believe everything they say, they fail to understand that these so called celebrities are just normal humans with same head like the rest of us and that they can do mistake as well. The best education are the ones we teach our self, your level of knowledge and confidence will be seen as unspeakable. We can try and do better for ourselves by doing our own assignment that is by doing our own research and getting the necessary information we need to begin our crypto journey.
In my own opinion I think this influencer should be taken to law as accomplice together with the culprits, they should be aware of what they are signing up for before they agree to any contract. Spreading misinformation can  actually start a revolution and should be taking into consideration, no one is too big to fall into the trap of this culprits. Avoid the talks and put in the work, every thing you have to learn is in your reach.

It's true that scammers always have ways to make a profit, various ways that definitely have a plan, such as an airdrop with a small amount but don't remember whether the coin airdrop is safe. Wallet drain which is the main key for scammers to break into our wallets is very annoying. Bull season is a target for wallet theft. At least look at the coin project in detail before anything undesirable happens

Those who invest in scams are those who think they will become millionaires very quickly. But not only those who are new to Bitcoin but those who are greedy nest inside the moon and those who want to become millionaires very quickly are the ones who fall into the scam scheme. Of course we all should protect ourselves from scam schemes and invest by checking the market. If we have a long-term plan in hiring Bitcoin check the market and invest time, we will surely succeed. There are many of us who are in a hurry when it comes to investing, and in our haste, we make wrong decisions, due to which we often fall victim to scam projects.

When someone decides that by making an investment they will be able to have wealth quickly of course they have a wrong understanding about investment and also they have not sought out knowledge about the investment they are going to make and don't let the assets we have just disappear without getting a profit from the investment we do.

Yes, if we don't want to be deceived in investing then we have to really understand the market, that way we will be able to be careful in making decisions when investing and don't make decisions in situations that we don't really understand so that we don't become greedy in investing.

Scams have become rampant even in the previous years but most probably, since we are expecting bitcoin halving and eventually bitcoin bull run will follow, there will be more scamming incidents will most likely to occur prior to that. And I can see the only remedy to that is to trust and stick to bitcoin. Avoid altcoins most especially to those random projects that are newly risen in the market as majority of them are bound to scam us. And lastly, never trust others but only trust yourself. With the right knowledge and experience with bitcoin, you can never go wrong trusting only yourself.

This email crypto scam, they don’t know who they are sending mail to and who they are not sending mail to as I believe what they do most time is to do email search and they don’t know who really owns an account with the exchange they are sending login or suspended accounts email for which always make this emails very easy to be identified that they are fake email and should be reported and discarded anytime possible.

With the way all the email scam is getting popular I just imagine how many victims they always get anytime they proceed with it that makes them not to get tired of sending the mail all the time, people should just learn how to identify fake from real emails.

Crypto scams are getting more sophisticated with time, and now we will see more IA involved in the scams, so, we need to be ready for anything because things with get crazy.

Imagine getting a phone call from a family member asking for a crypto loan, well, that can be done with Artificial Intelligence nowadays, and the success rate for that kind of attack will be high. So, we can't trust any digital source because the deep fake evolution it going fast.

We're still not winning against them because their strategy is quite working so well. And no matter what we do scammers will continue to grow knowing that many still believe in xxx rewards in just a short period.

Spotting scam projects is not impossible and it is not hard but unfortunately, because of money, many will change and become blind to see the real intention. Scammers are extraordinary, they can manipulate us if we hear their words and so these newbies. But we should have to learn from our experience their hands, one time is enough but there is no more. That is why we should be smart in choosing a project to invest in, not the rewards but the legitimacy of the project.

Surely this year there are lots of Ponzi Scheme and a deceitful scammers will reck havoc in the crypto industry and their strategies and scripts are updated as well, so we need to armor ourselves with knowledge so that we can keep out from them as far as we could. Others also can simply ignore them so that they can no longer execute their script on you because you never know, they might have something prepared on you without you knowing it is a pure scam and you took their bait and fell to their trap just like what happened to others because of their stubbornness.

Scammers have been waiting for this opportunity for four years already, they know very well that during the next year, a great deal of new people will decide to give it a try and invest in this market, and since many of them will not know what they are doing they can be deceived very easily by them.

So we can only guess how much money is going to be scammed this time around, I just hope that more people learn from the past, read about all the possible scams they can face and protect themselves from all the false offers that will come their way.

OP, I read your post and it got me laughing when you said that most projects that scam are those that are anonymous, I can name few projects with anonymous team members that are topping on coinmarkecap ranks, and there are countless of crypto projects with team members that showed their faces even using Youtube videos and they still scam people.

I don't know if anyone remember one coin? It belongs to a female scammer who till today is nowhere to be found, she fooled everyone because she make her face public, this caught the attention of many people and they trusted her but the project exit scam.

Do not trust any crypto project because they have a visible team member, it is nothing, they can still pull the plug of scam from the wall socket and leave all investors in their sorrow, do your own research on any new or old crypto project and make sure you take profits when the price is pumping hard.

As as for not listening to "influencers" I would certainly almost entirely agree with you there but there area few whom are knowledgeable and decent.
Their are good genuine coin to invest aside bitcoin but some people have it in their mind that if they invest in new project they can make good profits than what they will gain in bitcoin and other well known cryptocurrency.  Aside bitcoin their are other cryptocurrencies one can invest on. It is better if people go after what they know and sure about than investing their money in the unknown which they may easily fall for scam.

Yes, exactly. Many people are usually deceived in new projects, they already understand the new project but dare to take risks because of greed. even though there are still many other coins whose fundamentals have been proven as mentioned above.

So what makes people deceived and lose the main thing is because of greed. because greed is basic human nature. Even when they are in heaven, people still want the forbidden fruit (khuldi). When you have a million, you want two million. Once you have two million, you want three million and so on, even billions. Because human nature is greedy, humans will always be easy to deceive. Sometimes we always put greed before everything else, without doing anything about the research. So to avoid crypto fraud, what needs to be controlled is to reduce excessive ambition with wealth and be patient in going through the process and give up your intention to get rich quickly.

It is so sad that I started to see ai supported scams on Facebook about stocks market. They are faking voice of famous figures that are talking about scam investment opportunities. I think this will start to happen with cryptocurrency soon. Please don't fall to ai generated voice or picture or video scams. I think YouTuber/influencer scams are also dangerous. They promote very weird exchanges to buy and deposit Bitcoin or just scam mining options. I warned all my new crypto investor friends.
