Post by: tajimas on May 04, 2024, 02:23:00 PM
Hello,friends
The question is addressed to hodlers who have been hodling bitcoin for years
Sooner or later there will come a moment when we will sell the bitcoins we hodl and have to invest this money in something else to create passive income
It can be real estate, any business, buying land and renting it out or something else
Very few people will sell bitcoins just to spend this money in a few months,at least i don't know such people
Everyone here is a smart person and everyone here has thought about where to spend this money
That's my question

P.s. I'm a holder myself,i'm thinking about strategies and i'm interested in the opinion of other hodlers to put these ideas in my head and think about them

Bitcoin is actually the end game of my investment, I won't convert it to real estate, land or business.

Renting real estate or land? I can earn more just by investing in Bitcoin.
Business? I don't have time to manage it.

Not to mention I would face unnecessary dramas e.g. they claimed to own my land, I could be scammed, the lessee don't want to pay the rent, cost to maintenance the real estate etc.

I only sell my coins to accumulate more coins.

You can take profit all your bitcoin or part of your bitcoin and continue to hold the rest.

It makes sense to take profit and get money to use, nothing wrong but if you take profit or sell all your bitcoin to invest in some other things like real estate, I don't support it.

It's not good idea for your portfolio because real estates can be built up more but there will be no more than 21 million bitcoins.

It's a good idea to use your Bitcoin holdings' profit to diversify your investments even more among another niches of the market. You have mentioned some very good examples, like real estate, commercial businesses, purchasing pieces of land and renting it for passive income. There are many areas you can invest and make new sources of income from. You just have to be careful to invest in the kinds of areas which are more profitable inside the local reality you live, that is, areas which have high demand from the public around you.

For an example: you won't invest in commercial businesses where local residents don't have financial power to consume your services or products, however this concept of business is a very good idea where the population has better financial conditions to spend more often in a daily basis.

Therefore, someone's idea of investment might not be the most accurate one for you, because your realities can be immensely different between each other. For that reason, you are the one who has to develop the best ideas on how to spend your money for further gains.

In my opinion, there is no point in selling your Bitcoins until Bitcoin finally becomes the world's reserve currency and an integral part of central banks' gold and foreign exchange reserves.  Moreover, when this event occurs, there will be no need to sell Bitcoin for fiat money.  Its cost will be so high that the hodlers will not sell it, but will only pawn it.  Bitcoin is the most valuable asset a person can own.  Real estate may seem like a very attractive investment, but in reality it has large associated costs and can easily be confiscated or destroyed as a result of military action.  Fiat money is currently undergoing a period of transformation.  There is a transition from traditional paper money to CBDC (new programmable digital concentration camp money).  Which is better: CBDC or Bitcoin?  The answer is obvious!

It can be real estate, any business, buying land and renting it out or something else

To be honest I do not have accumulated a lot just yet or at least not enough for any of my plans to happen just yet.

There are two specific things I have in my mind: real estate and business. I want to build a house it has always been a dream of mine and if I earn enough profit it will surely be one of the first things I would be doing. With business, I actually just mean that I want to be able to make more of what I earned. I can not be satisfied with the money that I have I know I should think of more ways to double my profit.

I retired in 2019 off my Bitcoin. So how will I spend it...I'll spend it throughout my life on whatever I want. I'm just now, as of last month, gonna start using a tiny bit monthly (at least whenever my bank account is low) to pay for stuff for the rest of my life. And of course I have some of my bitcoin set aside for specific purposes like houses and a few other things. I may or may not use a bit at some point to get into stocks, specifically dividend focused stocks to add a third income source in retirement, though if I do that I'll wait a decade or so until Bitcoin is at least above half a million dollars.

But Bitcoin is humanity's hard money, so there doesn't have to be a time when you sell the bitcoin to put into something else. Certainly people can, especially if they don't have already have any investments that generate income. Any smart life-long financial plan should include both Bitcoin and various investments that generate income. But the endgame isn't to sell bitcoin to put into other stuff, the endgame is to keep saving in humanity's best money, while also having other sources of money, specifically income generators since that is the one thing Bitcoin doesn't give you.

Good question. Basically we always plan how we will earn profit from our invested funds, I can guarantee that there are most of us who will get confused to answer what to do with the profit earned from the invested funds.  Because most of us don't plan what to do with the profits.
And to be honest with me it's pretty much the same, I've been confused about it all this time but I'm thinking that since I'm currently thinking of holding bitcoins until around two halvings following the DCA method.  Later, the thought of reinvesting may come to my mind. However, I don't have any thoughts of doing business or anything else with that profit. I don't know what will happen in the future.

Why you want to do a business you should do no they cannot business that you want to venture into because sometimes business of real estate management does not favour everybody, because I know very well many people who is into salt business have not prosper very well so if you are doing real estate management you have to be watchful and also understand the business what I know very well that can give you people money is when you invest in cryptocurrency so I know very well that cryptocurrency is something that is more money

If I had to sell all my Bitcoins just to create a business that generates passive income, I wouldn't do it. Because for me as long as Bitcoin continues to provide good returns for me, I will continue to keep it and also continue to buy it as long as I have the ability to continue buying Bitcoin. Because I think Bitcoin will continue to give me good profits in the long term which makes me have to think long and have to really plan very carefully if I want to create a business, because creating a profitable business takes a long time.
If I use my Bitcoin to create a new business, I have to sell my Bitcoin and have to wait a long time for my capital to return and even then it hasn't made a profit. And that time has squandered any profit I could have made from Bitcoin if I still had Bitcoin, and that profit would have been pure profit and probably a very large amount. So I have to really think about this so that I don't regret it and I also don't need passive income other than my salary from work. Because the income from my job is enough to meet all my needs and also to invest in Bitcoin periodically according to my ability after all my important needs are met, and I prioritize Bitcoin for my future or old age and also believe that in the future Bitcoin will be very expensive .

Why do you think so?
First of all, you don't have to sell to get something else. You can exchange bitcoin directly. I don't have to go to an exchange to get fiat money to then buy a house. I can strike a deal with someone to get his house and transfer my bitcoin to his wallet in exchange for that. There won't be any selling of bitcoin, but a simple transaction.

Why do you assume that I have to sell my bitcoin to create passive income?

Why do you assume that I want passive income in the first place? My bitcoin offers me enough of that.

If I had to sell all my Bitcoins just to create a business that generates passive income, I wouldn't do it.

That's exactly how I feel.

Although you said that you are also a holder, I will like to ask you a question: as a holder, do you think it is a good strategy to sell all your bitcoin that you have been patiently holding for a long period of time to invest in a business that you are not 100% sure will succeed?

Take a deep look at it without working, Just being patient By holding bitcoin for a long time, you will make a profit. Didn't that look so easy to do? I know another source of income is good, but what is the essence of selling all your investments? Why not sell 1/4 or half of it to start up the business? If you keep getting higher profits, you will add more to your bitcoin investment, or do you think if you sell all your bitcoin investment, you will have interest in investing again? You might think it will be easy, but if the amount of bitcoin goes up, then you will feel discouraged because it will be like you have started your bitcoin investment from the beginning.

So if you truly want a good strategy, you should plan to start up a small business that will not consume more than 1/4 or half of all your investment, and even if the business fails, you will still have a backup.

Everyone has his own reason for holding and they can decide on when and how much they should continue holding or sell out, but i don't think there will be a long time holder till now that will want to sell all he has been holding till now, they will rather release part of it or also make an investment in other asset along the bitcoin investment, some of them do have the target that they are investing for the future and may not sell out at anytime soon since they believe in the value of the coin and future prospect it has.

I really want to refer here to the morpheus meme, "someday Neo, you won't have to sell". It is reasonable to spend some, imho, but many people will keep a significant % of their stack

I am a holder however it is not as long as you think. That makes me qualified to respond too. I have big dreams for what I'll do when I take profits but it is nothing too concrete. Plans can change so that is what I have in mind. Also something may occur that will require me to take it out sooner than planned.

The sketchy thought I have in my head is to build a library in my society. The library will have almost a whole floor dedicated to Bitcoin, its history, its creator and its people.

If you really need money to spend for important things then I would sell some of it instead of selling all of it before spending the money to the things I really need. Well, if you have extra money then there's no need sell some of your crypto for fiat. As many people said that you shouldn't make crypto as your main source of income but as a secondary income or a sideline. Well, when the time comes that I have to sell bitcoin then I would divide it into portions like 20% to personal wants, 25% needs, 30% for emergency and the rest is for savings.

Real estate and stocks. Unlikely Bitcoin, they have a very clear utility so they are always in demand and generate predictable cash flow. But in general I want a diversified and balanced portfolio that yields predictable and low risk income. When you have a lot of money, you don't need to chase high returns, you need to focus on consistency.

Why do I have to sell my bitcoin to invest in something else? I don’t have any problem with my bitcoin investment and am currently making a good profit, which I know if I keep on holding, my profit will keep on increasing. Why do I have to sell and be looking for something else to invest in? I don’t know if other people are planning to sell their bitcoin just to invest in something else, but I don’t have any plans to sell my bitcoin because of other investments.

Everyone here is a smart person and everyone here has thought about where to spend this money
You can’t tell anyone what they will do with their money, some people will sell their bitcoin and spend the money,  it’s their money, and they can choose to do anything they want with it, that doesn’t mean they are not smart.

Well, if this question was asked directly, then I will simply say, after holding and finally selling, the next thing to do  if possible is to life your life as simple as that, but unfortunately, most holders haven’t even thought about selling atleast not this very moment when they’re seriously seeking ways and money to continue buying.

All the other investment options you mentioned are relevant but I don’t think, a core bitcoin investor would want to  sell his coin simply to go invest in some  other things not even this bull run.

Preaching to the choir here - I think we are all on the same page about holding our Bitcoin long-term instead of chasing quick profits.  But you make a fair point, when do we eventually sell? That question keeps us strategizing for sure.

Personally, I dream about setting up different income streams so I can be free to pursue what I enjoy, travel more or even sleep in when I want!  Real estate, side businesses, rental properties - those can work.  Im just brainstorming ideas too, and always interested to hear other ideas people have in mind.

This will definitely depend on each person. There are times when someone has it all. Success in their business and business means they also have various investments, not only in the online world but also offline. We certainly know a lot about various parties who are also involved in the property, land, gold and other businesses. but also successful in long time holding Bitcoin or stocks. Yes, once again it will depend on what their financial management means. because sometimes this is also very closely related to their management mindset and finances.

And for now, my main focus is Bitcoin, which I have held for more than 4 years. and I believe that it will cause a Bitcoin bullrun. There are already several strategies for this project and hopefully it can really be fulfilled regarding gaining gains in the next bullrun. And related to other businesses, this is still quite difficult for me to do.

Real estate and rentals can be a solid investment, I get it.  Dealing with tenants and leaky faucets though? That could turn into a full-time headache.  Maybe starting a little side business would be more your style instead.  But honestly, there's no one right path here.  You gotta think about what makes sense for your situation specifically.  Point is, you gotta be real with yourself.  Think about your skills and time before you decide which investment strategy is best.

For me, I don't own so much bitcoin, but for the little I own, I've never really thought about a time coming when I will have to sell it all off and look esle where to invest the money, looking at my age, I have no such plans since bitcoin in itself has proven to be a very good and reliable asset to be constantly invested in, i planned to hold my bitcoin for a very long time, possibly selling along the line, and buying back again, selling and buying, that is, become more like a bitcoin trader by taking advantage of the market swings to increase my bitcoin holdings, and as well take profit from my holding from time to time, maybe from that profit, I can think of investing in a business, buying land and houses, investing in real estate and so on, but never will a time come when I will have to sell all my bitcoin and possibly quit crypto, for that is what it actually is, if I ever will have to sell all my bitcoins to look esle where to invest the money, it simply means I quit doing crypto, this is not gonna happen except something really bad happens to bitcoins and bitcoin is said to no longer going to exist, then, and only then, will I sell if I have the opportunity to.

Well I can't tell what's on my mind, not until I hit my target so in this case I will  keep holding, I know most investors has really make a lot of profit from bitcoin investment. I think those earlier investors must have met up to there target, and at this point they won't find it difficult to execute their plans, for  those of us who are still new In the system I think we  still have a very long way to go.

I don't see any investment platform that can pay more than Bitcoin. So I don't think I have to sell bitcoins and do any other business. Because I know it can give me more than my expectations in the long run. But even if I need money, I will never plan to sell my bitcoins until the specified time and my expected level, instead I will try to hold more bitcoins as much as I can. I will try to arrange my money in some other way. But if someone wants to profit from his bitcoins I would not do him but considering the possibilities I would definitely say hold bitcoins.

We know that at some point bitcoin will reach its limit, I'm talking about the maximum bitcoin that can be mined, and we still dont know what will happen after that, but for me as a bitcoin holder even though I sometimes sell some of my holdings because I need to buy something or for emergency, I will still continue to hold and hold until the time where we can see what will happen to bitcoin at the end, but even so if there is still a way or innovation from bitcoin and it will still be in the future then of course I will not sell all my holdings and keep on believing in bitcoin because that's how it is, that's how we bitcoin holders thinks, we will not let ourselves to sell all our holdings until the end.

But meanwhile of course I will find more investment related to crypto currency and see new currency with the potential to give me passive income and good amount of profit, even now I do many crypto currency because I want tk maximize my capability in order to earn and not just stuck in bitcoin.

There's no "one size fits all" type of answer to this question. Not all BTC HODLers are the same. Some people are HODLing small amounts of BTC, so they most likely wouldn't be able to buy a house/apartment, even if they sell at the next Bitcoin ATH price. Other people are HODLing big amounts of BTC, so they could invest in another business or buy a big real estate property after they sell. I'm a member of the first group of Bitcoin HODLers, so I can't afford a house or apartment with my BTC, even if the price hits 100K. To be honest, I really don't know how to spend the money after I sell and I hate making long term plans. Those BTC in my wallet are my financial "safety net".

That's a long time before it happens and I'm not really the kind of person that would pass up on the opportunity earn profits as a reward for hodling for the long-term, there's always a time that I can buy back the bitcoin that I've sold when I've sold it when the price peaks, I don't want to be bitter and regretful that I didn't sold when the price of bitcoin peaked, at the least there should be an opportunity for me to enjoy life, there's more to it than just bitcoin investing and hodling. Real estate is a good investment but I don't recommend investing in it right now, it's a bubble and I'd rather see another 2008 Housing crisis before I buy my own home, that way, it'll be much cheaper.

As a holder? Definitely, I won't spend my money.
Like if you are a trader, you are trading as well and if you are a gambler, you are also gambling. Or else, I couldn't tell myself I was a holder when in my mind is to spend it. I will just stop holding when I leave the crypto space because the mindset of a holder is to hold and grow their money, not by thinking about spending it.

The question OP won't point out what a holder is but this suits users.

I have planned it really well as when I decide to sell it at peak then I would reinvest more than half of it into Bitcoin and other coins as well during bearish market, diversify my remaining return by investing it into things like real estate, equity and stocks. I would also invest some in local businesses which I have planned for a while now but the most important thing is we shouldn't use 100% into other investments , if you notice I haven't used it for luxury because I would use the income which I get through my job for those needs.

Bitcoin is a successful platform and it will give you huge profit if you have patience and knowledge but it is also not a bad idea to invest in other business with the profit of Bitcoin because sometimes we also need some physical business for which we work hard and get huge profit.

It is not necessary to sell your whole Bitcoin for another business but you can sell some of it to continue both Bitcoin investment and other business so you can take profit from both of them if you work in the right way.

Hold your Bitcoin until the price is affordable for you but when it reaches to the price higher than 100k$ then sell some of them to put into another business or investment because the bitcoin is very volatile and it can go down again very quickly therefore take your profit and leave the rest for getting the profit during another pump.

All the other investment options you mentioned are relevant but I don’t think, a core bitcoin investor would want to  sell his coin simply to go invest in some  other things not even this bull run.

But why not? Diversifying makes good sense for investors.  Putting money across different assets like Bitcoin as well as more traditional ones can help manage overall risk.  No one knows for sure where Bitcoin or any other market will go long-term.  betting everything on one horse seems unwise, even for big Bitcoin bulls.

-Regards

I am not an old investor and holder of Bitcoin but at least I have made a decision to only sell my Bitcoin when the price reach $500k. If am done with my university study, I  will seek a job and when I start earning I will save up and start my own company. If i got a government job, am assured it's a life earning opportunity because even after I have retired, I will still be receiving pension and there will be no need to touch my Bitcoin. I have plans to hold my Bitcoin for a very long time in the future unless any thing came up.

Since Bitcoin is valuable, it is possible to get huge profits by investing in it. I have an alternative source of income so I don't have to sell bitcoins. Having this non additional source of income allows me to continue my life and normal activities properly. Since I don't need the money right now, I'm holding on to my bitcoin despite its gains. I expect Bitcoin to go much further from here in the future. Since I have the money I plan to buy more bitcoins, I am prolonging my bitcoin holding plan for the time being, now is the time for me to Hold bitcoins.

Why sell bitcoin in order to invest the money received in something else, for the sake of receiving passive income, if bitcoin already brings passive profit? Moreover, not every method of making a profit can boast quite significant returns.

Some, for example, buy a yellow legal pad (https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-04-24/-buy-bitcoin-sign-shown-behind-yellen-sells-for-1-million-at-auction). Although I could call this the most senseless and stupid way to spend bitcoin (or there is something I don’t know and don’t understand in this story).

I'm  planning it all for myt retirement , to have enough land to farm and near running water or beaches.

and also some part will be for my children to be left as my last will because we can never know the future .

but for a while I wanted to use some of my profit to enter small businesses so i can make more realistic profit.

As any normal person would, spending it on stuff that matters, down payment for a car, for a house or even as a capital for business, it's not really a matter of how you do it, just don't be too wasteful of your profits and spend it first on things that matter. I've seen what bitcoin profits can do if you don't know how to spend it wisely, you will always end up spiraling into misery after you've spent all of it on the wrong things, that's why I've planned already how I would do it. Maybe I'd use the money that I'd get for hodling for retirement, it's not like I'm not working that I'm depending on my bitcoin to grow, I can wait for it.

Actually this has a different opinion, it is clear that there are those who maintain their Bitcoin to any extent because they miss opportunities from other fields unlike bitcoin which is quite promising to say so.

There are people who want to diversify; Bitcoin + holders have real estate or other businesses, they want to get different sources but with the thought of ideas from other people then it will be very relevant, right? Ideas from anywhere should be taken that are good and profitable for you.

About massive income then Real Estate or other businesses because they will receive profits every month this is what we expect for the needs and savings that continue to be saved.
I know that bitcoin is pretty good for the long term, but in search of massive income then for bitcoin not, especially for the long term we will feel the benefits when every cycle and where bullish comes again.

OP, you asked me in PM for my opinion, so I will just answer here.  I dont have a ton invested in Bitcoin or anything, so realistically it probably wont be making me rich anytime soon.  But if the price did shoot up enough where cashing out a bit could give my small business a helpful boost, I would likely sell off some of what Im holding.  Not looking to fully retire off Bitcoin gains or anything crazy, but some extra capital at the right time could help me take things to the next level with my company and  i still gotta keep my day job and all that but growing the business is important to me too.  It is always a tricky balance figuring out when to hold and when to sell with this stuff.  But if I had a chance to fund an expansion or some upgrades that could pay off long-term, I would seriously consider making a move.  This game isnt just about holding out for early retirement - sometimes you gotta know when to take some profits off the table strategically.  I dont have all the answers, but thats my general take on it all.

If you check those charts which shows old coins moving for the first time, it shows you that long term holders sell in one or two scenarios.

First one is when there is a huge crash. Usually some exchange hack or that Covid dump. If you look at those charts you can see some old holders got scared and took some profits.

Second time is when we make fresh new ATH. Whenever a new ATH is made there is always some old coins being sent on the blockchain for the first time. Usually they sell very early, such as in 2017, many sold at $3000 but we peaked at $20000.

This is very important question but there will hardly be an answer that is ideal for everyone because people hold for different reasons. The only thing I know is that majority of people holders seems to be saving towards retirement so they can rest and enjoy their wealth when their strength is weak and they are no more in active service. A good number of people are also saving for their children and loved ones.

I am personally saving for retirement, so I can have something to fall back to them. This does not mean I will not also enjoy the wealth when I see the need to because sometime one have to enjoy the wealth to have a feeling of it at a younger age. Part of my bitcoin will also go to my children too because I intend to also make them be involved in bitcoin when they get to a certain age. Giving them bitcoin will be a very good motivation because they will be able to see that it is actually money.

Let's say I am able to make six figures when Bitcoin reach a new all time high, I plan to set up a bigger business, not for myself but for my partner, I plan to improve her in business, and I also plan to get some properties back, years ago I sold few lands to buy Bitcoin and today I am very up in my investment but now is not the time to take profit, I will surely do so when Bitcoin does something new, price wise I meant.

I don't plan on exchanging all my Bitcoin for anything, even if I end up having everything I want Bitcoin will still always be something that I can't stop having, it's my Gold, and also my bank, till my last day on earth, I have always wanted to get away from banks and centralization, Bitcoin made it possible.

Many holders will take profits when the time is right for them but you should know that many Bitcoin holder tend to retire holding Bitcoin, they will have time to sell but not all the amount they have, and mind you, those who sold are simply waiting to buy back in, this will net them even more Bitcoin.

We can actually say that bitcoin is a passive source of income and is recommendable for retirement program. Some says it's the end of the way to success due to its flexibility to generate wealth.
So possibly While we may sell off our bitcoin for other purposes in life, such as investmenting on other sectors, we can as well keep it up reinvesting in bitcoin even after harvesting what it has produced for us.

Real estate investments are good idea though because while we're expanciating with our investment, we should also consider management flexibility as we approaches to our retirements. So that reason why bitcoin can't go on extinction.
So I personally has taken shape and decision to a lifetime goal with my bitcoin investment.

I keep my spendings limited to fiat currency and not bitcoin. While there are some giftcars purchases happening there are less bitcoin being spent. It is mostly for the long term price growth of Bitcoin along with the accumulation of Bitcoin over time that I am targeting. Both of these are achievable with long term holding.

Using the money to make more money is possible if you are willing to invest these Bitcoins. That is a topic for another discussion and many are already doing this too.

I guess selling bitcoin in order to acquire other investment is quite unreasonable, but if you tend to sell a portion of your bitcoin investment in order to diversify your investments, that would make more sense, like buying properties or putting up a physical business that would attract a lot of customers, hence you are adding to your bitcoin investment that would also gain more passive income.

However, if you can also maximize your bitcoin investment, that would mean massive profits as well. But I always believe that it’s always better not to put all your eggs in a single basket, that way you will lessen the risk it involved and you will come to minimize the chances of getting lose all at once.

Most holders of the bitcoin market should hold more holdings after the desired success of their investment because they have already received it or will receive more in the future (desired capital gains). I think it will be easy for them to pull back from BTC because of its underlying upward trend and even demand especially with world inflation and political instability putting huge pressure on the economy. As fiats continue to depreciate and historical assets are similarly under pressure, overall it may be recommended to stick with BTC and be more aggressive in investing. Stacked holdings are better than other investments to increase and accumulate BTC in DCA strategy.

I think the passive income the OP is talking about could be investing in real estate and then renting it out to earn income each month, and bitcoin cannot do this. Additionally, there is nothing wrong if our bitcoin investment is already profitable and we take profits to diversify our portfolio. We all know that bitcoin is very volatile and it would not be wise for us to place all our assets in bitcoin.

I also have that plan, I will take profits when the bull season comes and will only keep about 30% of my assets in bitcoin, the rest I will diversify with other assets and invest in the business sector. That will help me minimize risks as well as have a daily and monthly passive income source through business and real estate rental.

Those that you have mentioned, they're part of my plan if ever the time has come for me and I want to start selling some of my holdings.

They're in position and in profit already but I don't think that I'd do it this time unless I see some skyrocket to Bitcoin before this year ends. Most plans are in 2025 and this bull run is still quite long.

We have to be patient but too much of it might lose you the opportunity at the right time. So, always weigh things when deciding.

I know some people view their Bitcoin investment as a retirement fund. Another reasonable idea, especially for the younger generations, is a Bitcoin college fund for kids or something like that. As for me, I'm flexible with Bitcoin: I treat BTC as a savings account, from which I take money as needed, but which I want, ideally, to grow. There's no need to go all-in on just one idea or never sell BTC. Life is unpredictable, and none of us really know how much of it we have left, so I'm a proponent of regular spending on things that make us feel better.

The thing is, I just don't want to cashout it at once rather I only get some bitcoins whenever there is a rush property for sale that I think I gonna get used of in the future and so far so good for me and when I made some money with those things, I put back some money to bitcoins the same price I took earlier or maybe more but I don't buy at a high price, I stacked my money and wait for the right time to buy bitcoins again, my funds are limited so I need to think twice before making any decisions in terms of investing it back to bitcoins.

I can ask, How many years of life have you planned for yourself?? Judging by your post, it will take a lot of time for the events you write about to happen. But you are getting older; are there really no desires that you would like to fulfill while you are not old? My old parents no longer have good desires, although there are some means. Everything is spent on health and grandchildren. From seeing such a life, an understanding arises that the older we get, the less we want. Why save for the sake of saving? Build passive income by naturally understanding how to do it. What people write here about simple hoarding without a goal really upsets me. We must live now, travel now, and not save for old age, when nothing is needed. ::)

Different people have different ages, social-economic status and more so they have different needs in their life and must have different plans for their future.

The young can think too far but the elderly can not because they know their time is ticking down.

It's classic but your post is excellent as a reminder. People can not live without spending and if they see some needs to buy anything, have a trip, whatever that can help them to enjoy their life, have better life quality, they should do it.

If to do this, they must sell their bitcoins, cash out some of their bitcoins, they can do it without fear. We will all die and become dust so let's enjoy our life in unique ways for each person, but just don't HODL.

The tip is to never take your feet out of the water. What I mean by this is to always keep your holdings in the crypto space no matter what happens, and even if you're planning to splurge on a large purchase.

When I was new and was not as confident as I was right now in this industry, The moment my money shot up from the 20k bitcoin ATH back in 2016 I pulled out all of my shit and made myself liquid, thinking i'm set for life with the millions that I have at that time.

I quickly realized that money when not working is easy to fade, and in a few short years I lost it all, if I had kept some of it in the crypto scene, day trading and perhaps just holding some of my coins I wouldn't have to deal with that and even now that I was able to make more money than what I once lost I still feel a little regretful that I took out all of my money in the crypto scene back then.

So yeah, just take what you really need, and nothing more. Keep your investments here.

There are different plans when it comes to spending your money. My main objective of investing and holding the investment for a long period of time is to earn profit and when I get the expected profit I will surely do the things as per my plan. For example, when I feel that I should sell my investment now, I will wait to sell my investment and invest again with some money, and with the remaining money, I try to fulfill my needs as well as my desires. Many do this by reinvesting the entire portion of the profits and safely storing the capital they used in the past. This means that they get back the capital they used in the past and with only a portion of the profit they are able to continue their investments later.

I mean there were surely a lot of people that are just holding Bitcoin and as far as I know, don't really have any plans on selling their Bitcoin any time soon, I kinda understand and I kinda don't at the same time but we all have different situations here, for some people, of course, they might not need to sell there Bitcoin at all because there already have the money to live on their a lifetime or even more, one thing that I've heard most of the time is they were just holding Bitcoin for inheritance and they just wanted to see how the Bitcoin is going to turn out in the end, is it going to skyrocket or might see if it is going to reach 1 million dollars something like that.

Personally, I am not really a fan of that since it wouldn't really matter at all if you are not going to sell it and make a profit on it, but still it would make sense if you don't need the money, but for normal citizens for sure the main goal is to make to a profit so you would need to make the best of the cycles in the market on bear market you for sure want to accumulate, and in the bull run surely would want to sell for profit and lower your risk.

In my case, when I saw that the bitcoins I have have already reached the profit I want, then I would sell them to finance a business in the real world, because that way I would have made a profit from the investment in bitcoin and then I would continue making a profit from the investment what I would do in the real world, which in this case would be opening a large business that I have been researching for many years in my country. for me it would be something very good and when this business that I was doing in the real world started giving good profits, then I would take part of the profits and buy bitcoin whenever it fell a lot and hold it for years until I had a lot of profit again, I consider this a good strategy for my case

I would use the money to set up an AI to do all the answering in the Bitcointalk forum for me... so I had time to go fishing on the beach.

8)

If AI could read your entire post history, then AI would charge you a very high price for the services it would perform in your place because it wouldn't be easy for it to replace you while you're at the beach  ;D

For me I would sell my crypto to buy my own land or place, then start up a small business there.
It is more of a retirement plan for me, I want to buy a land on the country side rather than live on the city.
The cost of living would be cheaper and the scenery is much nicer.
Of course I would continue to earn on crypto, and when I start my small business there I would also accept Bitcoin or other crypto currency as a payment option to promote it.

I do not see the need to do this yet since bitcoin still holds massive potential to grow, and even if at some point bitcoin became so big that the profits you could get became similar to the performance you could get from other assets, I will still prefer to hold bitcoin, and this is because most other assets have massive disadvantages when compared to bitcoin, look at real estate, while owning a house in which to live is an attractive proposition, real estate cannot ever be really owned by you, while in the case of an emergency you cannot carry your property with you, and you cannot sell it in a hurry as real estate is expensive and it could take you months before you can get a person interested.

anyone who is a bitcoin holder knows the particular time you want a Bitcoin to propagate for him, the major objective while some people Hold bitcoin for long-term it is because they want to make a profit and making a profit for cryptocurrency investment mostly in Bitcoin can make you to transfer or diversify your investment to another thing,so therefore we invest to make profit and when we make a profit we neither spend the investment wisely or not, because I know quite well that anyone that invested in Bitcoin really know wants is the plan If he makes a profit.

I only sell my coins to accumulate more coins.
as a good investor of Bitcoin you will sell your Bitcoin to enter into a business or investment that you know that the profit will it be equivalent to bitcoin investment profit so I've not seen before someone who is into bitcoin investment and the person made the profit and withdraw it Bitcoin to invest in real estate management... you can only invest in in any business based on you have known the Foundation of that investment why many people such as us like to invest in Bitcoin it is because bitcoin does not have a third party but when you venture into a real estate management, real estate management need a constant monitoring and if you don't know of the business it will not make a profit for it that is why most of people who is in Bitcoin always use their profit to purchase more of coins neither not coins or to have accumulate it bitcoin as you said.

I don't know what will happen in the future.
for me I see anyone who is a crypto investor as a wise person because they invest in Bitcoin in order to make a profit and they know quite well the risk that involve in Bitcoin and for you to make a profit for bitcoin investment you must to have a good plan a cogent plan for yourself before the profit will you manifest it is only the gambler that I know quite well that doesn't utilize their profit but a cryptocurrency investor mostly bitcoin investor most to ensure that it utilize it profit he made through bitcoin investment.

Money is spent on many things to meet the needs of life so after meeting all the needs I will invest some part of my income in bitcoin for long term which will make the future bright. Instead of saving just for the sake of saving if you save for short and long term goals saving is beneficial. Retirement planning etc. If you can set various small and big goals and proceed with savings plan to meet those goals then it becomes much easier to keep an eye on the fixed goals and meet the goals.

Good question. Many may sell Bitcoin in the upcoming bull run and many have long term plans. I have invested in DCA method and still continue to invest in DCA method. I can't hold bitcoins forever I have to sell bitcoins at some point. Since I invest with the DCA method, I have a long-term plan. So I haven't decided yet, which sector to spend after selling bitcoins. We can't tell the future, but I can say that I will decide depending on the investment amount.

Why you want to do a business you should do no they cannot business that you want to venture into because sometimes business of real estate management does not favour everybody, because I know very well many people who is into salt business have not prosper very well so if you are doing real estate management you have to be watchful and also understand the business what I know very well that can give you people money is when you invest in cryptocurrency so I know very well that cryptocurrency is something that is more money
we all have our own path to venture , just mind yours mate lol because those that i wanted is being planned long time ago and all i need now is to be triggered and how will happen? if i accumulate enough capital to build such so if you have your plans then goodluck then but let me have mine here.

Selling half of your Bitcoin to achieve what you want in your environment is a good plan, because the price of Bitcoin will continue breaking into a new ATH to allow holders to take advantage of it to develop other businesses that will increase their income in future. Making cryptocurrency to be your major source of income is a good idea, because the income will be coming from the cryptocurrency investment, and it will be huge more than other income that will be coming from other businesses if you can apply that strategy. There are some funds you don't need to spend anyhow, if you want to build a solid wealthy family that will last long for you to enjoy and your unborn children to enjoy too, try to reserve some funds for future bearish season to always accumulate your cryptocurrency.

Buying Real Estate or land is not a bad idea, you can collect profits from Bitcoin investments to increase your source of income in the future. I have not started investing in bitcoin yet, but I have made a plan for it. Soon, I will start my bitcoin investment. I've found a steady source of income because I don't want to face any financial troubles when I start investing.

Op if I were a bitcoin hodler, I doubt I would sell all of my bitcoins to invest in any of the investment you mentioned. I understand that these are also profitable investments.
I don't know how much bitcoin you have, but in my opinion, I would suggest you to take part or all of your profits from your bitcoin investment and invest it in either land or real estate, but the idea of selling all of your bitcoin is bad.

As you are considering selling all your bitcoin in order to invest in real estate or land, you should also consider the risk that is involved in real estate. For example, if you sell all of your bitcoin investment and invest in real estate and all of a sudden natural disasters occur, you know that their value will definitely decrease.
did you know that scammers are not limited to the internet? What if the land you claim to have purchased it's been sold to many people you know that will result in land disputes and which care is not taken you will end up losing everything honestly this is very scared and many risk involved I think I'll advise you to focus on investing in bitcoin because it's safe and secure and bitcoin has continuous growth potential and lower inflation.

Its important to realise that long term HODL'ers are not going to sell everything all at once,
ok there are probably a small percentage who will.

I can speak for myself obviously, but I wont sell all of my HODL'ing ever, I will die with Bitcoin!

Its hard to move Bitcoin to another investment because there isnt anything even close to
yielding profits that Bitcoin can. Personally there is nothing I need other than some home
renovations.

I would like to buy a parcel of land and convert it to Forestry for my Kids and Grandchildren to
benefit from in the future when I'm long gone.

Where does someone spend the money from the bitcoin profits you mean? I don't hold much bitcoin. If I made a big profit from bitcoin, I would personally buy something that could make me money back.

Indeed, everyone really wants to get profits from Bitcoin, which can produce something productive such as land, apartments and then make money back. With Bitcoin's journey of almost a decade, of course everyone is well aware of this asset, that this asset is truly promising for the future for everyone who keeps it. Of course, everyone is competing to spend their money to invest in this asset.

Well yeah there are actually a lot of ways how investors spend their profits in Bitcoin depending upon their own situation. Some investors sell their Bitcoin and then reinvest in Altcoins, some reinvest in real estate, precious metals and some others just spend it all depending on their everyday needs.

Though we can't hodl forever but when we consider the blocks remaining for the last bitcoins to be mined, investment more one Bitcoin will be more preferable than any other real life projects because one can basically sell part of his Bitcoin after recording huge profits in the long run and still continue by DCA to acquire more Bitcoins or better still wait for a dip to lump sum and HODL.

I don't mean that investing on real life projects just like the ones you mentioned is bad but while we are making investments we should be able to make sure that they are projects that is worth our efforts and money not some kind of projects that will collapse along the line.

It's interesting to consider Bitcoin's potential as a global reserve currency and its comparison to traditional assets like real estate. The mention of CBDCs sparks curiosity about the future of currency. What do you think the implications of this transition will be?

Most holders won't spend all their money just like that , I believe some would like to reinvest some amount of money into bitcoin again because many holders understand how important it is to have Bitcoin for hodling.  as far as bitcoin is concerned bitcoin is concerned when holders are making plans on how their money will be spent the first plan is to take some amount of money to invest again because it is a good thing. Spending all the money gotten from bitcoin is not a very good decision. When spending money it is important to always remember to consider investment.  The best way of spending money is making investment at the first plan, this is a plan that can also yield more money after sometime.

When invest is outside the box, the things we spend money expires, this is to also say they don't bring values but investment will always bring value that will always keep you in life going.

Returning to investing with the profits we have obtained from investing in Bitcoin is of course very good, but we have to really understand well the investment we are starting so that we can run it well and get back profits from the investment we have just started. Everyone certainly wants to invest in real assets as you mentioned and at this time of course people will try their best to be able to accumulate a number of Bitcoins because they will be very confident that they will be able to make satisfactory profits when the price of Bitcoin increases in the future.

What I understood and I will definitely practice after building my bitcoin portfolio is diversification. I can’t go into bitcoin 100% fully without owning other asset, I can as well build my bitcoin portfolio after withdrawing for other investment choice. Ending bitcoin investment is not even right after spending so many years building a quality portfolio, withdrawing has a different strategy so an investor don’t end up messing around with their investment all just for withdrawing profit. Everyone will decide what’s best for their well being likewise decision making in terms of investment choice and profit, every investor will set a goal before thinking of investing with different plans.

Instead of saving just for the sake of saving if you save for short and long term goals saving is beneficial. Retirement planning etc.
How much we can actually fund our retirement is pipe dream. In truth we will be spending most of it in emergencies and needs. You may be using bitcoin for the same while your forefathers have used fiat.

Truly, bitcoin is just a method to transact, it has its differences but you just transact with it or store it. You will have to spend it or pass it over to the next of kin. So being a hodler if your job is not a stable one, your chances of having to spend the bitcoin for needs is much high. Hence I always advice newbies to have a stable job and keep bitcoin in the side hustle not the main.

I think the best way to invest this money would be a real estate business. That's the only business I know so far that doesn't cause you losses other than that every business has risks and they have losses at some point.

The real estate business can be so powerful and money making but that all depends upon your investment abilities. If you hire some good strategiest to make your investments then you bets can come out richer.

Buying Real Estate or land is not a bad idea, you can collect profits from Bitcoin investments to increase your source of income in the future. People here who have built a very emotional relationship with bitcoin always think Bitcoin investment is the best for now, they can do it easily without having to spend maintenance money and avoid fraud.

This not a profitable idea. There are times we may sell our bitcoin high and wait for the price to do down so we can buy at a lower price that the price would choose to remain so high and in most cases after we have sell the price would go way higher and never come down again. I wouldn't advice anyone to adopt this method because the chances of making passive income is low.

People that should develop this pattern should be investors who have enough bitcoin that they are holding for long and then they choose to play around with some amount of money using this strategy to see if they can increase such money, but their main investment still remains intact for long term purposes.

You just need to have some money awaiting for that to happen and to have them in your crypto wallet as bitcoins, is the best thing you could ever do because you are not only saving them securely rather you also surely giving it a chance to multiply cause of the bull runs. If you do this while you have multiple sources of income, it's easy for you to hold it for the long term so that you will be able to earn more from it in the future.

It’s important to note that aside from Bitcoin, there are a lot of other places you can invest your money such as you’ve highlighted a few, like having to buy properties, real estate, investing in stocks and buying shares, these are gainful ways to invest money too and you can archive this even without liquidating your portfolio.
It’s important to note that, most investors that take up Bitcoin investment with a long term hodling plan on it, definitively have other streams of income to sustain their hodling through the years it would take.

You can’t really be a good hodler without having an alternative source of income. That’s where you get more investment funds from and that’s how your hodlings gets sustained. In essence, you don’t get to have a definite plan for selling some of your hodlings but, as the need arises.

To buy and sell it again requires the right time so that our assets grow rapidly. and to know the right time, good knowledge is needed, so that we can analyze it well and be patient in waiting for the momentum. when people panic selling at low prices, that's the time we buy it and wait until there is a lot of demand which causes the price to rise, until many people buy it then we sell it before the anti-climax occurs

That is really smart that you are planning well before you jump in on investing in bitcoin. Most people due to the fear of being left out, they leave everything behind and dive in to investing. You should find the balance between planning well and not missing the correct time frame.

You want to wait but also not wait too long. It's a really complex and difficult line to balance in between

Each of us looks at the future of Bitcoin with his own perspective. Some believe in the capabilities of Bitcoin and its fundamental characteristics that may make this possible, and some see that these are just dreams. The achievements that Bitcoin has achieved over the past years until now, and its widespread adoption by countries, major companies and Institutions, exchange-traded funds, and prominent businessmen figures...etc., make us expect a bright future for this investment, which continues to grow and has not faltered during crises, creating a revolution in the financial world like never before.

Of course, every investor has the absolute freedom to sell or hold their Bitcoin or the returns they've gained from their investment. Each of us has different circumstances, goals, strategies, and plans. For me, if Bitcoin achieves satisfactory profits in the long term, I might sell part of my holdings and keep the rest. It truly doesn't matter if Bitcoin takes longer to yield the desired returns because I'm not relying on it as a primary source of income but rather as a forgotten investment for the future.

Actually it would really be always that recommended that you shouldn't really be putting your eggs on one basket but we do really know that when it comes to investment then cryptocurrency could give
something which you cant really be able to achieve by other typical investment even just on holding it on which it would really be that something that will really be that some people will be thinking that
this is their end game on which they would really be holding it no matter what because they do really believe that it could really make them even more richer. Well, its not bad if you do have this kind of mindset
on which it could really be true and having that chance but of course we do know that in any investment there would really be that accompanied risks.

So to divide up the risks then it would be best that you should really be tending to scatter it out with those typical investment that we do know. Dividing up the risks so that
if ever the crypto investment that you do have do fail then you could really be having that back up plans or chance of recovery on which this something that would really be that preferable.

When you can analyze well, of course you will be able to know the right time to buy or sell it and to be able to know this, of course we must first understand well the asset we are going to buy and also have a plan before deciding to buy the asset. which we will invest and if there is a market correction of course there is no need to panic and if we have sufficient funds we can take advantage of this opportunity to increase the assets we have and we will be able to make a profit if prices increase again.

Making a certain amount of profit is always a good thing. Those who hold Bitcoin for a long period of time probably have other sources of income, as they keep their investment intact. This allows them to keep holding on to their Bitcoin.

Because they are used to the ups and downs of the market, they have also learned how to trade without panicking. This means that selling some of their investment to make a profit at certain times would be a sensible move.

An additional source of income is always essential when trying to survive in a speculative market. That income is your cushion from mental distress while giving you enough time to turn the tables and profit from crypto. That is why I always discourage anyone with the rambo idea of giving up jobs/properties or gold for bitcoin.

Some of the investment can be sold as per need. Some should be kept for emergency too. There is an existing problem of less exchanges available or big taxation from the government. At present, the avenues of selling is less in many countries.

-Regards
To me selling your Bitcoin as a holder to invest on passive income is not the ultimate, it is imperative to keep holding our Bitcoin as long as we can to acertain the certainty we have as a bitcoiner. For without fear of any kind the future of Bitcoin will continue to unfold positive result to it's long time holders.

The question you should ask yourself first is “why do we make money?”. I believe everyone here is not a child anymore, and as adults we all have responsibilities to take care of. So when we make money, it goes into taking of responsibilities that we all may have, which can go from feeding, to supporting our loved ones. And of course, we are not foolish, some part of the money would definitely go into savings, business and other investments that would yield more income for us. That's just it.

That's pretty straightforward and correct. We earn money because we need it to fulfill the requirements that we all have in our lives which requires finances. The world we live in runs on money, and those who don't have it will suffer a lot because everything these days requires you to have money. If you don't have any and aren't earning any, you are going to have a hard time living your life because not every helpless person is helped by someone.

Thousands of people in different parts of the world die due to hunger because they don't have money to get food or shelter and there is no one to help them. We may see some people and influencers helping people over the internet but that is just a very small percentage of the people who need help, and all others are left to suffer.
