Count me in! Missed these superbru cricket prediction pools within this forum. Tried to organise one myself for the recently concluded IPL season which turned out to be a bust. Hope this one clicks well.

The competition is a lot bigger this time around thanks to new additions like USA, Canada, PNG, Oman etc. Rooting for South Africa and India to win the T20 World Cup this time around.

I'd call new additions name sake (although it certainly looks good on paper that you won trophy for which 20 teams were competing), almost all of them will be out by time tourney reaches super eight stage, and we'll remain with our usual teams, that cricket world fondly knows.

I'd also want South Africa to win the ICC event and end their long awaited ICC trophy drought, just want to see happiness on players faces lol.

I would like to join this prediction pool and hope we will have a good nice time here while enjoying the T20 World Cup.

Thanks libert19 for creating and informing us about this superbru cricket prediction pool. I remember some years back I also managed one of these superbru pools and it is fun both managing and participating in such pools.

Great! I like it more when competitions are held on such platforms where you make the picks and see the points table after each match. I remember the Superbru competition held and managed by UmerIdrees in previous IPL and I won 1st position in it. It was fun.  :P

I am really thankful to libert19 for setting up this pool. With the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 less than a day away, I was eagerly searching for any sort of prediction pools in this forum. And I like Superbru's format. It is very easy to make your predictions and they have done so many pools previously here in the Gambling sub-forum. For me, it is the first time with Superbru. But from what I heard, they have a really good reputation so far. I have made my predictions for the first 4 matches. Let's see how it goes.

The first match will be played tomorrow among Canada squad  against USA squad In warm up matches, Canada displayed an fantastic performance against Nepal squad but USA won series against Bangladesh squad. I think tomorrow clash among these two squads will be quite interesting and challenging.

Same case here, the World Cup started today early Sunday morning Pakistan time and I missed the first match prediction :(
Had i been awake, i could have made the prediction on my favorite team.


I think you should not close the door for participation so early as there may be people who may be joining today or next few days. Maybe keep it open for next 2 to 3 three days so if anyone sees this later, can join too. Also, those who will join later are no threat to the existing participants because late joiners will be missing the matches and early points. In 1st match of T20 world cup 2024 USA won by 7 wickets. what a run chased by USA team Canada gave the good target of 195 runs which was enough for them to defend but they have failed. USA batsman successfully chased third wicket partnership of 131 runs on just 58 balls between Andries Gous and Aaron Jones Who played an important role in winning the match Andries Gous 65 runs innings and Aaron Jones 94 runs on 40 balls with 10 sixes contributed to chase this target easily no doubt Canada team fought hard but unlucky to won their first match United State of America taking advantage playing on his home.

The first match was finished and that was won by the United States of America but now after a few minutes, the next match will also be started and that will play between West Indies and Papua New Guinea.

I think for sure this match will be won by West Indies because this time the West Indies team is too much strong but still, this time we will miss our Universal Boss Chris Gayle once again. The first match was played between the United States of America and Canada which was the match of Group A and now this time, Group C is ready to play their first match.

Most of the people choose the United States of America as a winner in their prediction and most of them got it right. I hope everyone will choose West Indies in this 2nd match. Is anyone going with Papua New Guinea?

West Indies are playing really well at the moment thanks to the ball turning quite a bit. Shepherd and Hossein have been brilliant with the ball so far. PNG are trying hard to fight back with a decent total, but it looks like they might not even reach 140.

140+ is on the cards as long as Bau continues playing until the end in my opinion. This is a great start by the WI on their own turf.

Might have thought Papua New Guinea would score 140 runs but with Sese Bau getting out for a personal 50 that is no longer a possibility. At the end of 18 overs, Papua New Guinea scored 112 runs for 6 wickets and in this case, 28 runs are likely to be scored in just two overs. However, regardless of the score in today's match, how much better can a weak team like Papua New Guinea do against a strong T20 playing nation like the West Indies? However, the diversity of T20 cricket has increased as Papua New Guinea and other weaker teams have been given a chance in this year's ICC World Cup. In the future, all these weak teams can surely form a good future if they get the opportunity to play in big positions.

We can't expect much from the associate when up against the Windies, the latter is on a downtrend but T-20 is their format.

A big moral victory for PNG would be picking up 5-6 wickets or even 3-4 and making Windies's life a bit tough. 

Most people choose USA because of their convincing series victory against Bangladesh just week back.

Regarding current match, no one is going with Papua New Guinea as there is no reason to,  you can check what others have picked after you make pick yourself under 'matches' section.

It's only matter of whether it will be thrashing win or an easy one. There are few who have picked 'comfortable', but I don't think it'll go there.

Right now the match is stopped because of the rain and this is another factor that can help Papua New Guinea as well as all other small teams in the tournament. I am very sure that we will see some upsets in this format of cricket and rain will always help the low profile teams.

At this time, the West Indies team lost a wicket but still, the target is too low so they can easily chase it (provided the rain permits it). Also the opponent are not a good team and they must have to win against them because this time, everyone is praising their team and also their legendary players, commentators and players are too much confident that they can win the World Cup. They are not saying they will win big matches but directly they are being considered as favourites for this World Cup.

Yeah. PNG messed up royally by not taking the review against Pooran since he was actually out. Wonder what the heck they were thinking when deciding to not take the review. That would have put a lot of pressure on the Windies.

King is playing well while Pooran is struggling a lot surprisingly. Am expecting West Indies to finish this one within 18 overs.

West Indies won the match in nail-biting competition by 5 wickets against Papua New Guinea. Papua New Guinea batted well and scored a 136 runs target in a loss of 8 wickets in the first innings of the match. West Indies successfully chased down the target 137 runs in just a loss of 5 wickets in the 19th over of the match. The Player of the Match is Roston Chase for his amazing all-round batting and bowling performance bowling they didn't pick any wickets but his economy rate is good just 6 and over. Rostom Chase doing well in batting scores 42 runs unbeaten from just only 27 balls. West Indies after this win a positive start to the World Cup.

Right, Today West Indies sqaud against Papua New Guinea squad match was played today and we see great match among these sqauds. Papua New Guinea squad bowling inning performance was amazing and put West Indies Squad in trouble by picking important wickets at low scores and bowled superb. Nicholas Pooran displayed just good performance not impressive and pick good scores for their sqaud and collected just 27 scores. After got out Nicholas Pooran wicket, Roston Chase showcased their significant performance in batting Inning and also in bowling inning. He also received a badge today and he collected total 42 scores after playing 27 deliveries. Papua New Guinea has successfully managed to collect 136 score as defeating target and their batters played this inning very slowly and did collect good scores. In next match, Namibia sqaud against Oman sqaud we again see wonderful clash among them lets watch out who will emerge victory in 3rd match.

Lol, this didn't age well as it eventually turned out to be a 'comfortable win'.

I would still call this overall performance from West Indies team a mediocre one. Chase played good, he played significant part in this win.

Regarding today's match between Namibia and Oman, I'm sure I have seen this David Wiese guy somewhere better than in Namibia.

Also, USA hosted matches have better feel than matches hosted in WI.

Have to give it to PNG, they made most of it of what looked like a way below par scorecard against heavy hitter Windies.

Other teams should take note of PNG and USA too and be watchful when dealing with the Associates. They can't be complacent against these teams.

Sri Lanka collapsing for like the umpteenth time. They are consistently scoring lower than 100 scores these days which is quite embarassing. The pitch is clearly supporting bowlers a lot and the South Africans are taking full advantage of it.

Agreed. This is the T20 format where unpredictable stuff is common to witness.

This is a great success for the West Indies team.   He play very well and work hard and struggled and won the match.  On the one hand they could have made the target difficult if their bowlers had supported them but their bowlers could not get enough wickets or stop runs. But their bowlers tried to apply pressure in the end and  There was also pressure.  But the West Indies batsmen won the match by complete the runs with good performance and full effort.  I was watching the performance of the West Indies batsmen and the last overs again looked like they might lose the match.  But their batsmen achieved the target by performing well.  Congratulations to them on their win.

Looks like a dead match to me and I feel we will witness slow pitches throughout the tournament, maybe a couple of batting friendly pitches here n there.

If this trend continues then slow pitch will balance out all gaps for every team and quality batters will survive and potentially win the matches for their respective teams.

Yeah. Crazy change of pace after watching IPL 2024 where there were so many flat decks. This is what I wanted since flat decks made things entertaining for sure, but they got repetitive pretty quickly.

On the other hand, these slow pitches with bigger boundaries are seriously testing the batsmen from every team. Anything above 110 is probably considered competitive on these pitches.

I dont think any ground in this wc will provide bigger boundariea. 65-70 meter is requirement and in last match i saw 69 meter six on long-on which is usually 75-78 meter  in the Ipl so we can rule this out.

Slow pitch could make things diificult for batters because they struggle to time the ball so its good for bowlers, having said that, regular low scoring contest could be equally frustrating and possibly create a dull environment.

Afghanistan vs Uganda

Afghanistan and Uganda are going to face each other in the fifth match of ICC T20 World Cup 2024 today. Afghanistan has 80% chance to win this match mainly because Afghanistan has strong and balancing both bowling and batting. I have not personally enjoyed a Ugandan game so far but if I get a chance to watch the match today it will be my first Ugandan match. However, Afghanistan and Uganda have not faced each other in T20 cricket so far. If today's match takes place, then it will be the first T20 match between Afghanistan and Uganda.

Despite this thrashing win, Afghanistan has lot to learn this game, the way they lost wickets after the fall of first wicket, and didn't musher up much runs either. 

The way West Indies played against PNG , I would not consider their spot in Super 8 guaranteed, and would not be surprised if Afghanistan manages to reach Super 8 instead of WI, AFG is also having huge NRR in points table after this thrashing win, so they are at advantage anyhow.

WI should have tried to capitalize against PNG that they could have got NRR boost but they just did enough to win the match.

You could be right about the Super Eight situation, not because West Indies is a weaker side but because the next matches of both sides, AFG and WI, will decide which of these will go forward.

AFG's next two matches are against NZ and PNG. Now they will surely struggle against NZ because it's a strong side in T20 cricket, but they will trash PNG if they perform well, and that can give them an advantage.

On the other hand, WI has their next two matches against Uganda and NZ. Again, they can trash Uganda for sure because it's probably the weakest side in the tournament, but against NZ, they will have a tough time for sure because they struggled against PNG which is way weaker than NZ.

And finally, WI and AFG have a head-to-head match at the end of the group stage which can be the decider for both sides based on their earlier performances.

Judging by the overall performance in Group C. I'd say Afghans might have a slight edge over the Windies.

Windies got a gun batting lineup but an average bowling unit and the Afghans got satisfactory batters but good bowlers. This kind of difference could play a huge role when wickets are slow because bowlers will dominate the fight.

Namibia vs Oman was the most entertaining match for me so far thanks to twists and turns throughout the match and a super freaking over after a long time. @JSRAW got his wish fulfilled at last.

Also, it seems like the England vs Scotland match could get washed out which would be great news for Scotland and bad news for England.

Oh well, i would've been happier if IPL had a couple of Super Over contests but IPL scriptwriters had other plans.

Tbh I wasn't interested in the Namibia vs Oman match but luckily tuned in the last 3-4 overs and surprisingly it went to the wire. David Wiese used his franchise cricket experience well in Super Over, which made the ending one man show but no complaints whatsoever.

Yes, the team of Sri Lanka played very poorly and we cannot expect this with them but still now I think Sri Lanka team down fall started already. However, it is not the first time with Sri Lanka that they are in this desperate situation. I think it is from years ago. By the way I cannot understand why they will not allow giving a chance to those players who even hit double centuries in the test and playing also good in ODI. When there was ODI World Cup then they had no player relevant to that format of the game and had a lot of players of T20 and when in T20 World Cup then they had a lot of ODI players. In short, they cannot understand who can play the game in which format  :(

It's shame that SA selectors left Faf out of wc squad. His fitness level is top notch, bats aggressive, great fielder, can perform in under pressure situations. Faf is experienced and checks all other boxes, wrong decision from the selectors to exclude him.

SENA cricket boards are not like Subcontinent cricket boards.

Results or no results, they look at the future and never go back to old dogs, they didn't even approach AB de Villiers a few years back so it gives us an idea about their mentality. Unlike in our part of the world, which is the opposite, look at how everyone bends over for star players.

It's not exactly about being star, I would not be rooting for him had he been performing poor, look at his performance in IPL, his catches taken, he's performing good and add the experience of playing since long, you just have a player that could play significant role in team wins (even a mere catch can be a turning point, good fielders are underrated).

It's fine for me that Indian selectors usually select experienced guys over young guns, young guns often fail in under pressure situations or playing matches with high stakes involved (i.e, Final) , while experienced guys like Kohli (whether like him or not), they can survive such situations, and more often than not, take your team to the winning shore, even in ODI world cup, Kohli's wicket was turning point. Rahul tried but succumbed to the pressure.

Look how Aussies selectors didn't pick Jake Fraser McGurk either despite his blazing performance in BBL and IPL.

Franchise cricket is not International cricket and like i said Proteas didn't even look at AB de Villiers and he was GOAT.

It's been a decade and senior players have failed to bring any ICC trophy, 10 years is a long period. New players might be inexperienced but they also don't have any baggage of getting knocked out in Knockouts again n again. Young guns might also fail, but that's how every team goes into transition.

India vs Ireland time! This one should be a cakewalk for the Indians and I am not expecting any surprises in this one thanks to their performance in the recent warm-up match against Bangladesh.

Betting on India seems to be the way to go in this one. Hope rain doesn't play spoilsport in this encounter. Let's see what happens.

In the past, Irish lads did upset Poms a couple of times so no one should underestimate them and on top of that it's T-20. India should cross a line as Group A seems relatively easy but there is no room for complacency. 

India are going with Rohit-Kohli combo, which is interesting but feel for poor Jaiswal. Rohit looks like a quota skipper lol

Yes your 80% prediction was right in this match and Afghanistan squad was emerged victorious in match so easily without any stress and with no hard work. Afghanistan squad has begun this match with first Batting Inning and their performance in this inning was so admirable. Afghanistan squad has collected total 183 scores at end of their batting Inning of total 20 overs. Starter batter of Afghanistan squad displayed very impressive performance in batting and both made long lasting batting partnership with total 150+ scores. Rahmanullah Gurbaz batter entered on crease in this match h as first starter batter and he collected total 76 scores and other batter Ibrahim Zadran picked total 70 scores in this match. Just these two batter played amazingly and resting played just few deliveries with low scores. Uganda squad was unable to achieve this big Defeating target of total 183 scores and whole squads was wiped out at 58 scores and faced defeat with high scores of 125. No one played good from Uganda sqaud side whole squad was cleared out at below 10 scores. Fazalhaq Farooqi showcased unbelievable performance in bowling inning with picking 5 good batter wickets of Uganda squad in just 4 overs. Best wishes Afghanistan squad for upcoming matches.

Another thing to note that in this World Cup, every small team hitting back to back, can you even believe that Scotland's team performance is like this against England? How is it possible? To make 90 runs in 10 overs without losing any wickets. In that match, there was a huge disappointed for Scotland because they were playing very amazingly and going to create a history but the rain helped the England team.

Just imagine if they played full 20 overs, then there would be no chance for England to win this because everything is front of you. No doubt, Scotland is just a low name in the world of cricket and England is a giant.

Those upsets happen once in a blue moon which is why I felt that this should be a cakewalk for the Indians and that is exactly what is happening here. India took full advantage of the pitch while Ireland didn't.

Am expecting the Indians to finish this one quickly in order to boost their NRR nicely.

Felt great to see both legends opening together after quite sometime. This could potentially be the last World Cup for Rohit if you ask me.

Afghanistan is also a strong and performing team.  His team has decided to bring a very good performance in the match.  And in this match Uganda looks very difficult to win the match.  And Uganda performance proved that we cannot perform well in the match and lost by a huge margin.  Afghanistan batsmen had given a good target but their bowler dismissed all the batsmen for 58 runs.  The Uganda team will begin to perform very poorly.  They should improve themselves like the Afghanistan team has improved themselves.  And win a lot of matches.  And in this match too he won the match with very good performance and hard work and struggle. This match is in the bag but the kind of luck Indian team got, I won't rule out another Bakhchodi kind of performance in the knockout. One of the reasons, i am not expecting much from them is because it hurts so much when expectations are not matched lol.

Hope, they got the balls to continue with this combination and if Rohit's form goes down in crucial matches then he should voluntarily discover imaginary niggle or pick injury for team balance.  ;D

I didn't feel this was right combo either, Kohli is better as one-down batter, Jaiswal should open with Rohit and try to give good start to the team without caring for his wicket. Idk who should be benched for Jaiswal though, and there is no way Rohit himself can be stepping down.

Meanwhile, Surya is still finding his form, hopefully he'll perform when team needs him most.

Virat opening for RCB for quite some time and tasted more than enough success, plus he's an anchor that we don't need but at the same time in tough times he can go with that. If I had some authority then i'd have dropped Rohit completely but he's a skipper so yk. I'd prefer Abhishek (similar aggressive young batter) and Jaiswal in T-20 every single time.

Anyway, what I mean is, in T20 team requires a good start, so aggressiveness in openers is must and after that anchoring the innings is done. And if it's openers day, they can sail the ship smoothly to winning shore without need of anybody else (as with SRH this year).

I did but the discussion point is here batting number and he did open for India a few times. Also, Kohli is top order player anyway. If he was batting in the middle order then I'd have left him alone but that's not the case.

True, the Anchoring role has lost its charm in T-20 cricket but the kind of pitch this WC is offering, I believe anchoring will play its part. It all depends on your squad as well and you try to manage with what you have. If management wants to fit the Hardik-Dubey combination in the middle order then you have to compromise at the top. They won't drop Rohit-Kohli (every problem started with this duo, otherwise we'd have a young t-20 team), so only Jaiswal can sit out.

Aggressive openers are the need of the hour and the way cricket has evolved over the past few years, the role/ need of an anchor is greatly reduced. Every team is looking to start their inning on a high note, but these T20 World Cup pitches favour bowlers at the moment and on these low-scoring pitches, anchor is a must-have in the team.   


Kohli doesn't have any role to play in the middle order, he is good at the top, plus, India has a good middle order which can accelerate at will.

Oman actually fought back pretty nicely against Australia. The margin of victory wasn't as big as I expected and it would have been smaller had some of the Oman fielders held on to some important catches.

In world cup Uganda Vs Afghanistan game was finished very interesting and we see great sportsmanship in field. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran created great partnership with total of 154 runs against Uganda team in this fourth game in T20 World Cup history. This victory was not easy so far and Afghanistan team made total of 183 runs against Uganda. Rahmanullah made total 76 scores and Ibrahim achieved 70 runs but disappointing inning was showed after their dismissals other batsman team only added 27 runs in last 5 overs. The bowlers of Afghanistan team stopped to Uganda team only 58 runs and securing a great runs victory of total 125 and earning a high and  net run rate. Fazalhaq Farooqi's performed exceptionally in bowling with taking 5 wickets for only 9 runs. This win gives Afghanistan great spirit in next matches.

The match between Pakistan and USA was for me a prediction in Pakistan's favor and I was sure that Pakistan might win this match easily.  But it is hard to accept that a team like Pakistan will lose like this to a weak category team like USA. Pakistan under pressure at the beginning could not adjust themselves throughout the match and therefore batting under pressure could not take the score above 159 runs. In particular, Babar Azam scored 44 runs in the match, but in that case he faced 43 balls, which would not be wrong even in an ODI style. Pakistan could not create any kind of pressure in the match as a result of which the match was drawn early in the scheduled 20 overs, then the match was dramatically won by the USA in the Super Over. I noticed today for the first time that Pakistan's Mohammad Amir faced a bad over, especially giving away an extra seven or eight runs in a super over. I will never accept that it will be by Pakistani bowler Mohammad Amir. Moreover, according to USA, a team scoring 18 runs in a super over is also a shameful situation for Pakistan. Should I then assume that Pakistan cricket is in a decade of decline?

Congratulations USA for winning second consecutive game in his maiden t20 World cup the scores were level of both teams then super over decided who will be winner. USA made 19 runs in super over these 19 runs made by only running except 1 four Muhammad amir gave 7 extra runs in super over which which costs pakistan a lot. Iftikhar and fakhar face USA bowling in super over but iftikhar gone on 4 runs of 3 balls which created pressure then shadab khan failed to make 15 runs on last 3 balls USA team won the match by 6 runs in super over. this is their second win in Dallas its a major upset for Pakistan team to lost a 18 ranked team who is playing their maiden t20 world cup and the USA has won two out of their two matches till now. The USA has created history after beating Pakistan.

Pakistan losing against USA makes me feel even less excited about India vs Pakistan lol and how demotivating it must be for themselves to lose against USA too.

Tomorrow, there are two big matches and those are the matches of Netherlands vs South Africa and the second one is the match of Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh.

Netherlands vs South Africa:
It is such a big match and also counts as rivalry because, in 2022, the Netherlands was losing to the South African team and also in the 2023 World Cup which was ODI, then this time South African team is ready to take revenge.

Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh:
This match is also no less than a big rivalry. This match rivalry started in the 2023 World Cup due to Hakib Al Hasan and I think about this, there was already too much hype so I don’t have to explain. In short, there was just a small fight between Sri Lankan team and the Bangladesh team on cricket rules then in the series between them, they both were taking revenge on each others.

Well, the feelings are mutual. The charm of the India vs Pakistan match is fading and the excitement is not there. After looking at the Pakistan team's performance, I think India will easily win the upcoming match; they only need Babar and Rizwan's wickets. Pakistan's middle order looked miserable and so did their spin bowling. Pakistan's batting line-up looked under pressure from ball one and the fall of early wickets put pressure on Babar and even he was struggling to get a single.   

While I agree with you about the IND vs. PAK game, I would like to remind you that Pakistan has always been an unpredictable side in T20 cricket and we have seen this on a lot of occasions. I know that they performed poorly against the USA, their batting or bowling wasn't up to the mark and they conceded a lot of extra runs, especially during the Super Over where they could restrict them within 10 to 12 runs and easily chase it down but they conceded extra runs and pushed the target far from their reach.

Pakistan has good fast bowlers and we all know that, it's just that they are showing a lot of inconsistency at the moment. Nonetheless, I believe we are going to see good competition between India and Pakistan regardless of all these factors. However, India will have an advantage because Pakistan will be under a lot of pressure after this game, for sure.

Well, i always knew that Pakistan would lose to the United States of America because they would take this match too causally that eventually, they will lose it. Right from the start, you could see that Pakistan team were not comfortable at all and they truly underestimated the USA team in this competition.

And I had a predict and I was not in favor of Pakistan win and my predict was proved.  And Pakistan lost the match badly.  The condition of Pakistan this year is looking very bad.  Neither their women perform is good nor theirs.  They should emphasize their performance.  The target given by Pakistan was neither that easy nor that difficult.  But in the end the match was not pressure by their bowler.  And the target was tied and the win would go to the super over.  And Pakistan got a target of 17 runs.  But Pakistan could not complete this run and lost the match.   Babar Azam also did not make any kind of effort and struggle he just continue to play for 43 balls and scored 44 runs.  And I would say the worst performance was by Babar Azam.  And Mohammad Azam also got out on the first ball.  His performance was not good by any means.  But the target had become a little better but his bowler could not control it either.

Yes, USA team beat Pakistan in 11 th game of ICC Men World cup and this game was my favourite game of all other games because of very enjoyable. Pakistan team set 159 runs target in 20 overs but I feel that the target was made by Pakistan was slightly small and low scoring runs. I think target could be 180 to 200 runs according to their team players in bat. But their bowler did not bowled very well in game first they drew this game by scoring 159 runs and in Super over, M Amir bowled many wide and gave extra runs to USA and USA won this game in super over with 5 runs. In bowling lineup, S Afridi bowled total 4 overs but did not took any wicket and gave 33 runs his effort was also very poor. Other H.Rauf also showed very worst struggle I did not expect this effort from Pakistan's bowlers. Before this game, I think that Pakistan vs India game will be very exciting and wonderful but in this game, my thoughts about Pakistan team and now I think this will also perform like this in future game with India.

Damn it! Another prediction went up in flames thanks to Ireland playing like crap while chasing a mediocre target against Canada who were decimated by the Americans in their previous encounter.

In contrast, I've noticed that USA has quality fielders and you'll find at least 3-4 good athletes patrolling on boundaries or even 30 yard circle, it's true for a fair amount of low ranking teams like Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland etc .

Subcontinent teams could learn a thing or two. India are much better positioned as far as fielding is concerned, the likes of Virat, Jadeja, Sanju, Pant, Hardik, and Dubey are incredible. Even Rohit with his Vada pav personality is quite safe. 

It's hard to believe what's happening in the Group Stage this time around. First Pakistan lost to the USA and then Afghanistan thrashed New Zealand. Sri Lanka lost to Bangladesh as well but that wasn't completely unexpected considering the performances of Sri Lanka in recent times, but man, there are a lot of surprises in this World Cup, I must say.

Teams that used to be considered minnows before the World Cup are thrashing top teams all of a sudden, fans of the losing sides are devastated after seeing this and are losing interest in watching their teams play because they seem to have no hope after what they have witnessed.

In the match that Pakistan lost against USA I would blame the Pakistan team's batting and bowling line in that match.Despite Pakistan being so experienced, they put up such a poor batting performance and bowling performance against the USA that was beyond anyone's imagination. Look at the performance of the Pakistan team batsmen in this match, none of the batsmen could score a half century and Azam Khan got out by hitting a golden duck despite giving him a chance. Apart from Babar Azam and Sadhav Khan, none of the batsmen in the Pakistan team could reach the three-figure mark. Pakistan team has done the bad bowling performance as well as the batting performance. Despite having experienced bowlers like Mohammad Amir Shahensha Afridi Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf, the Pakistan team was defeated by the USA team.

The performance of the Ireland team was very poor as they failed to chase down the small one run target. Such a performance will never be compared to the stronger teams, but despite keeping the wicket at the last minute, Ireland lost because of the laziness of the attacking and opening batsmen.

What the heck is going on in this T20 World Cup? Never expected USA to defeat Pakistan, but seeing Afghanistan thrash the Kiwis just blew my mind. Ireland losing comfortably against Canada was another surprise.

Also, Bangladesh did really well defeating Sri Lanka despite some nerve wracking moments. Crazy entertaining tournament!

NGL this WC schedule makes it very hard to follow any match and they fixed 4 matches today, blame the timezone I guess.

Considering they are going with Non Suncontinent matches according to the subcontinent prime time slot, I thought they would at least do the same for SL vs BAN. Over the years these 2 teams developed a spicy rivalry and provided tons of entertainment to neutrals. Pretty Bummed up that I missed the thriller.

You cannot be sure if that match was fixed or not because Pakistan has the habit for unpredictability so even if the match was fixed, everyone will keep the focus on that they are unpredictable and can perform worse against any team on any day.  :)

I think the result of todays match will tell us the exact story as of what is going on. If Pakistan loses today (they are out of the competition) and it will proof that the match with USA was not fixed.
However, if Pakistan won today's match, this would mean Pakistan will remain in the competition, India may meet Pakistan again in the next stage of the competition and then India will trash Pakistan later (making it a perfect scenario for the ICC)  ;)

Yeah, I dislike the schedule too, they could have run tournament bit longer with 2 matches max a day. People who are passionate will watch the match anyway, irrespective of the time of broadcast. This hectic schedule also makes matches harder to discuss, and some low tier matches get completely overshadowed by hyped clash of the day, as in Australia vs England yesterday and India vs Pakistan today.

Seriously there are too many matches going on at the same time making it difficult to follow every one of them. Nevertheless, it is not because of the time zone but there are a lot of teams participating in this T20 World Cup and therefore to cope with all matches, there has to be a rush of matches. Seeing at the schedule it seems we are not having a Cricket T20 World Cup but a Fifa World Cup with so many teams  :D

West Indies had their another big win against Uganda where they won by 134 runs. Uganda were all out at 39 runs making it a big win for West Indies. In this group C, West Indies and Afghanistan are looking so strong that there seems to be no chance for the New Zealand team  ::)

If it was some high profile test series then I'd have tuned in even during ungodly hours but it's too much effort for some random T-20 match despite getting a T-20 WC tag.

Correct brother, this was the 2 nd lost of Ireland team in this series and first game was lost by India team and 2 nd game was lost to Canada team recently. Ireland team batsman played very slow lineup and did not chase normal target which was set by Canada team. Canada team set 137 runs target in 20 overs by losing 7 wickets. N.Kirton showed best effort in game by scoring 49 runs in 35 runs with hitting three 4s and two 6s. S.Movva also played brilliantly with making 37 runs both made good combination. But other side, Ireland team did not perform very well like in Pakistan series. A.Balbirnie again failed to show good struggle and in past game he also batted very poorly. Ireland team only made 125 runs and lost game by 12 runs and this runs did not chase and showed laziness and their attackers also very slow.

Out of all the matches, rain had to mess with probably the most exciting match of the entire tournament. Damn it! I feel like this entire match could get washed out if rain keeps interfering again and again.

Great start by India so far and it looks like the pitch is batting friendly this time around with less bounce which is why I feel that 160-170 is a par score.

At one point India were 88-3, 160 seemed easily doable and I was expecting them to end the innings with around 180 with some finishing touches, but then a proper collapse and now India is at 112-9, lol.

Okay well it's clear that our batters fucked up big time despite Pakistan being too generous to them at least in first 7-8 over with their fields and call it luck for Indians.

But after that they did make it out with quick wickets though, having said that Pant, SKY, Dube, Jadeja all got out to normal balls, it wasn't wicket ball IMO but the scoreboard suggests otherwise.

90-10 in favor of Pak and they should win this one comfortably unless they pull another vintage Pakistani stuff.

I hope to see few changes in Indian squad next match because despite the win, India overall performed poor. Even Pant, who from the look on scoreboard seems to have performed good, but it was not the case, he was simply given several free lives in form of dropped catches, and got lucky with the boundaries. Major disappointment from the Pakistan Cricket Team for their fans and followers, no one, even not the fans of the opponent team, was expecting them to lose such an easy game. Their bowlers did a great job, Naseem Shah, Haris, and Amir bowled extremely well, but their batsmen couldn't hold it together to chase such an easy target. The team tumbled after the wicket of Rizwan who should have taken the responsibility to at least push the game a bit forward but he couldn't do that.

Their chances to qualify for the Super 8 are extremely tiny. If they want to qualify, they will need to win their next two matches with huge margins and then Ireland will need to beat the USA considering India wins their match against the USA which seems to be the case since they are a pretty strong side.

Pakistan continues disappointing their fans and India's dominance over them in World Cups keeps rising. All credit goes to the Indian bowlers like Boom Boom Bumrah and Siraj who were phenomenal.

Also, Bangladesh have shifted gears really nicely and are screwing South Africa currently.

There is nothing in this match and this World Cup for the Pakistan team to cheer about, except this time they were able to take the wicket of Virat Kohli in the game's early stages.

Right at the start of the game, the one and only Virat Kohli lost his wicket and that wicket was such a massive wicket for Pakistan and India for both teams. He was out by Naseem Shah and Naseem Shah gave the ball on inside in then Virat Kohli tried to do place the ball but there was a swing in the ball and slowly goes to off side which resulted in edge touched, the ball went directly to the fielder and Usman Khan caught it easily. By the way, that was a very big catch and difficult too because the speed was too fast but Usman Khan made a good effort. That was the time when both Rohit Sharma and Viral Kohli were out early and Pakistan were cheering. After that, we gave the match away to the Indian team.  :-\

Pakistan's episode is really sad because Pakistani fans don't know any language to control their anger at the moment as two matches have been lost very undeservedly. The first match was a Super Over loss, the second match was a near-win match against India. All these sad phenomena are very painful for Pakistani fans to accept.

However, Bangladesh have been able to put pressure on South Africa's batsmen at the moment and it is very likely that South Africa's run score will not go above 140 runs. At this moment, South Africa's total of 100 runs has been completed at the end of 17 overs. There will be a chance to bat for 3 more overs, but if Bangladesh can bowl controlled balls in three overs, then there is a high possibility that the score will not go above 140 runs.

Same ground and almost the same script for the first inning. This New York pitch keeps giving a reality check to every T-20 merchant.

Proteas need to repeat similar bowling efforts as the Indians but also hope that Bangbros do the Pakistani stuff and crack under pressure.

To be fair to Bangladesh, umpires did dirty to them by calling LBW at the wrong time, to the naked eye it looked like it was sliding down the leg and missing the stump completely (DRS confirmed it). The ball went to the boundary line but the umpire gave an out signal so the ball became dead and Bangladesh missed 4 crucial leg byes runs.

But yeah, Maharaj did bowl some full tosses in the last over and one of the ball should have cleared the boundary but Mahmudullah missed it.

Pakistan vs Canada ongoing! Canada started pretty well, but I still feel Pakistan will defeat them easily though the margin might not be huge. They are still alive in this tournament barely and am not expecting them to advance to the super 8.

Johnson seems to be carrying Canada yet again. Wonder if this match will end up becoming another close thriller or a one sided one.

One way traffic so far and Canada's batters are not in the mood of troubling scorers, except Aaron Johnson.

Johnson is the key for them, the longer he stays, the better. They might end up with a competitive target, let's say 110-120, otherwise the match is gone.

Canada has had a good start but later on they will perform badly.  Their batsmen have score only 106 runs in 20 overs.  And this is a much easier target for Pakistan.  But according to my estimation Pakistan will not be able to fulfill this target.  Although the target is easy but the Canada bowlers do not know anything and put pressure on them.  Because Pakistan perform is poor and so far they have score only 21 runs and lost a wicket.  Pakistan will be out of this World Cup I guess but what is the result no one knows.  Pakistan need 86 runs off 93 balls to win this match.

Pakistan will 100% win this match now, but they will probably not be able to finish it within 15 overs which would have improved their NRR nicely. Canada is bowling decently while Azam and Rizwan are doing their thing as usual.

Goodbye Pakistan(Most probably). Also, 3 matches tomorrow and India vs USA is the big one. Excited!

Since Pakistan had pretty low chance to progress further in tournament, I was expecting them to go guns blazing but they still played rather conservatively.

Now Imagine if India deliberately loses (tactical loss) against USA tomorrow, that would be comedy, or at at least not thrash them.

That aside, I sincerely would like Pakistan in super eight for entertainment purposes.

If the USA manages to lose the remaining 2 matches against India + Ireland and Pakistan wins against Ireland then Pakistan will qualify because those wins will improve their NRR. Similarly, USA NRR will take a hit as there is no big gap in their NRR.

Comedy, yes but India should focus on its qualifications and WC trophy, nothing else.

I had the same thought as well even before the game started, I thought their strategy would be to play a bit aggressively in batting because the target wasn't that high, they could attack the bowlers in the powerplay by sending power hitters such as Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayyub to open the innings, if they could get a good start, they could even finish the game within 12 overs, but it seemed they had different plans, I'm not sure what they were thinking by playing so defensively after losing 2 matches and only having a chance to qualify for Super 8 by having a strong NRR.


Well, I thought about this too, the rivalry between the two nations is undeniable, besides, despite the USA beating Pakistan in their Group Stage game, if Pakistan gets into Super 8, they would be a stronger side to defeat because they are unpredictable at times and can outperform any team sometimes, remember the game in the World Cup against New Zealand?

Both Ireland and Canada have no chance of qualifying for the Super Eight but between Pakistan and USA, the main competition will be which team will qualify. Pakistan has to win against Ireland and to win it must win by a huge margin which is very difficult for Pakistan. On the other hand, USA will have to lose along with India and Ireland and Pakistan will have a chance if they lose by a huge margin. But with USA far ahead in net run rate, every factor will be very difficult for Pakistan.

I hope India will focus on remaining unbeaten in the group stages and may not create drama to lose to the USA for other purposes.
Usually, if teams decide to underperform purposefully, it always hurts them in the later part of the tournament. There is no comparsion between the India and USA team and India should win by a big margin againist them.



The Pakistan team can still qualify for the Super 8s of this World Cup and it is easy because seeing the history, the Pakistan team is always dependent on the other teams' results and if you say for example then the biggest example is the 2022 World Cup when the Pakistan team went into the semi-final to the behalf of Netherlands team.
So this time too, the Pakistan team can be able to qualify for the Super 8s if the Indian team wins their all matches and the USA will lose their all matches and the Pakistan team wins their all matches then for sure nobody can stop Pakistan from going into the Super 8s.

Currently, the Pakistan team is in such a situation that their reach to the Super Eight is ticking like clockwork. The bad situation of Pakistan team was created mainly when they lost the first match against USA. Then again they lost to India in their second match as well which became a bigger hurdle for them to reach the Super Eight. In the group in which Pakistan was placed, all the teams except India were weak, but unfortunately Pakistan lost first. Pakistan team has to face many equations to advance to the next round if none of all the equations then Pakistan's road to the next round will be blocked. But before the World Cup, Pakistan hosted a T20I series against Ireland where they won and if they can keep up their performance and beat Ireland by a big margin, there might be a chance for Pakistan.

Openers from Pakistan has a vital roles if their teams want to make an impact in the matches. Babar Azam and Muhmmad Rizwan were playing very good at yesterday's match but at the end, Babar Azam lost his wicket. India vs the Americans underway! What a start by Arshdeep. If they restrict USA under 100, this match will probably will finish within 15-16 overs. On the other hand, if they score above 100, it will probably end within 18 overs.

Pakistan is probably praying for India to decimate the Americans by a big margin which is totally possible at the moment.

India are heavily favorite despite the USA's brave campaign. I'm not expecting any upset tonight because it's not a knockout  :P and the Indian team only gets brain fade moments in the semis or finals. In group matches they just bully everyone.

The US wicket is so bad that any team can suffer an unexpected disaster at any time. USA have also been in a batting disaster, managing to score just 26 runs after eight overs at the moment and losing three of their wickets.
But if USA can be stopped before 80 runs and if India can finish the game before 10 overs then maybe Pakistan has a chance to become the second team to qualify for Super Eight.

It's not a bad effort from the USA, against bowlers like Bumrah they are faring well so far.

With 95 runs on the board and 4 overs to go, they should look to touch the 120 mark here and if got lucky then maybe cross it. In the end, we might witness a competitive match.

Yeah. They did as well as I expected and they are bowling really well, but I feel like India has this one in the bag unless they collapse all of a sudden. Both Sky and Dube are playing like it's a test which is understandable since it's a tough pitch to bat on.

Even if India win this one, it would be a narrow/comfortable win which would not affect USA's NRR in a big way. Pakistan should get ready to pack their bags soon.

The USA batsmen could have given a good target but their poor perform made the target easy and this is a disadvantage for Pakistan.  If America loses this match Pakistan is out of the qualifiy.  If the USA batsmen score good runs in the first 10 overs it could have been a tough target for India.  Can still build if their bowlers apply pressure.  But India need 62 runs from 56 balls to win the match and this target can be achieved.  America victory is very important for Pakistan.  The result will ultimately determine who will win the match and who won kr not.

Watching this India vs USA match live might have brought a lot of laughs because we never imagine such a game. In this T20 World Cup, a team like India has won it hard with USA. The run scorer may have thought this match that India would complete the target in 7/8 overs, but that match ended in 18.2 overs.

West Indies have secured their top position in the points table with a win over New Zealand today. But I feel very disappointed watching the game because every team does not have the feeling of watching the game with such a batting performance. New Zealand has been under a lot of disappointment in this T20 World Cup, and they look very weak, they have not won a match so far.

That was a surprising finish for me otherwise i thought that India would repeat the history to knock out Pakistan from the competition. They may still not be reaching the Super 8s, but this time they won't have the excuse that India ruled them out.

The history which I am talking about may not be known by many, so it is a brief recap of it.  In 2019 World Cup, India needed to beat England and if that had happened, Pakistan would have survived. The Indian team lost this match deliberately and it was talked about much on social media at that time.

In 2022 T20 World Cup, India had to beat South Africa in order to save Pakistan but they again lost with some other intentions. However this time, the Netherlands helped Pakistan because the Netherlands beat South Africa and Pakistan played in the final.

Australia may do something similar to England this time around by losing the match against Scotland or winning it narrowly, ofc we only know for sure when they do it, but potentiality is there.

West Indies ended up winning narrowly against the Kiwis surprisingly thanks to which they qualified for the super 8 while New Zealand are pretty much out at this point. Crazy turn of events.

Bangladesh vs Netherlands ongoing in Arnos Vale Stadium which looks sick. Am expecting Bangladesh to win this one narrowly.

In the match between India and USA, we saw a very poor batting performance from both the teams.Before the start of the match between the two teams, we had imagined that India would win but never imagined that they would win so slowly. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma came to open for India in the match against USA. Virat Kohli got out for no runs in that match which I found most surprising.In the end, Surya Kumar Yadav and Shivam Dubey batted in ODI style to give their team victory.

There is a lot of regret for New Zealand in this World Cup because despite being such a strong team, their dream of reaching the Super Eight may already be over. New Zealand lost their first match by 84 runs to Afghanistan and they lost to West Indies by 13 runs in their second match. So far they have not seen any victory.

Kiwis were supposed to be a stronger side in Group C and everyone thought they might cross the line with little to no opposition but how the mighty have fallen in just one week.

Bangbros were going good till the 9th over and I thought they might put up around a 180-ish score on the board but the Dutch managed to restrict them below 160, which is a nice effort. 

 

Yeah. I feel that 160 is a competitive score though as long as they regularly keep chipping away at their wickets which is what is currently happening. Vikramjit Singh is mounting a great comeback though.

This match will probably go right down to the wire with Bangladesh emerging victorious primarily thanks to more experience. Also, England vs Oman starting in a bit.

Before the WC, Bangladesh were in shambles because they lost to USA and Zimbabwe but they kinda turned it around.

India always is a very strong team and their team also proved this in every match. The best playing match and showing great by Arshdeep Singh. The previous match they played were also Fanstaic same as this match. They should displayed excellent teamwork and skill on field. India played a really good match.  India celebrate their victory making a place  in the heart of their fans. I hope America will improve some mistakes and play better in the next match. Their recent performance have been outstanding India  and they continue to play exceptionally well in every match. India won match by 7 wickets with 10 balls. The 25th match between India and America played at the Nassau international cricket stadium.  India won the toss. India elected to batting first. The best bowling performance in the India man team was showing by Arshdeep Singh 4 over and conceded 9 balls took 4 wickets. Congratulations to India for their upcoming matches. India won by match 111 runs. America 110 runs and power match.

USA vs Ireland is getting delayed but guess what?

Hotstar freaking showing India vs Pakistan highlight and almost a million peeps (including me) are still tuned in, probably waiting for toss updates. So much wrong with broadcasting, I'd have preferred some interesting stories about the players (USA or Irish) or team analysis and strategies but nope. 

Hilarious! Rain is playing spoilsport in USA vs Ireland match which is good news for Pakistan while it's bad news for the Americans who were probably focusing on comfortably winning this one.

So damn annoying whenever rain interrupts important matches like this one, India vs Pakistan etc.

Rain interrupting the match is not good news for Pakistan.

If this match sees a complete washout then USA will get 1 free point and they will automatically qualify for the Super 8 with 5 points. Pakistan can only reach 4 points (only 1 match left) so they would like this match to continue without any delay and hope the USA loses.

Rain just helped USA secure entry into the Super 8 which is epic for them considering this is their first World Cup tournament while Pakistan got knocked out officially. Their politics keep messing them up again and again.

Also, NZ decimated Uganda though it was too late while Nepal just choked against the almighty chokers(South Africa).

The USA team did exceptionally well to reach Super 8 considering this was their first ever T20 World Cup appearance. Pakistan panicked against the USA team and lost the match. They also put India under pressure, but thanks to India's strong middle order, they won comfortably, in the end.
New Zealand's win doesn't mean anything now and South Africa choked against Nepal. SA's top order is out of form and their middle is winning them matches.


Pakistan screwed themselves. They lost against the USA when 12 runs were needed on 3 balls. And against India, they required 47 runs on 47 balls, and their middle order choked. The USA might have won against Ireland if they played the match. 

Read someone saying (don't remember which thread) in the gist that Proteas might roll over in the Super 8 group because they fumbled against the likes of Bangladesh and Nepal and were about to lose if their opponents kept their nerves in check.

While it's true but IMO it could be a blessing in disguise for them because they got tested enough in the group matches and sometimes it's good practice before big encounters, unlike others who got an easy outing.

Agreed. They were quite lucky against several teams and clawed their way to the super 8 which is why I am hoping for their luck to continue for as long as possible. Fingers crossed and hoping for the best.

For the first time in cricket history, Pakistan and New Zealand wouldn't be a part of the Super Eight stage of a World Cup contest.  :) This is surprising and saddening at the same time. The competition would have been tougher and more enjoyable if these teams could make it, but what can be said? Their performances weren't up to the mark and the teams that have advanced deserved it without a doubt.

Some bad performances for sure but I would have liked it better had matches weren't spoiled by rain and fair advancement happened.

ICC needs to look into this 'abandoned due to rain' matter and find some alternative, it's world cup and matches are getting abandoned, it just doesn't look right IMO.

A number of teams have been unwittingly benefited by the abandonment of several matches in this year's ICC Men's T20 World Cup, particularly the USA this time as rain ended Pakistan's chances of qualifying for the Super Eight.
Moreover, most of the matches in the hosting country are being abandoned only because of rain, thus the whole image of the World Cup is being spoiled and the attraction of watching the match is gradually decreasing. Therefore, the ICC authorities have to decide whether to take any alternative measures without abandoning it due to rain, otherwise the attraction of the spectators to the World Cup matches will continue to decrease.

Scotland gave the big target of 180 runs against Australia excellent batting by McMullen played 60 runs inning Scotland gave the highest target by an association nation in T20 World Cup history against Kangaroos. The Australian team is on the way to chasing the big target they had lost their three wickets on just 86 runs in 12 overs travis head with 46 runs on the crease and Australia winning hope was alive they needed 95 runs in the last 8 overs. I think this is do or die match for Scotland's team if they won they would be in the Super Eight while in case of loss England's team would qualify because their run rate is much better than Scotland's Australian team already qualified for the Super Eight. Scotland bowlers need to take the wickets to put more pressure on Australia batsmen.

Australia won the match by 5 wickets. Scotland gave a decent target of 181 runs, but the Australians were too good for their bowling attack. They put pressure on Aussies batters in the first 10 overs of their innings, but Head and Stoinis steered them toward victory. England qualified for the Super 8 after Scotland's defeat. I feel for the Scottish players, they played exceptionally well against Australia, especially McMullen. He played an entertaining inning of 60 runs. 

Scotland screwed up themselves by dropping some game-changing catches. Head was dropped on 15 or something and he went to score 60+ runs. They really need to improve their fielding.

Anyway, England went through to the super 8 thanks to Australia and all spots are filled except for Bangladesh/Netherlands for the final spot which Bangladesh should take pretty comfortably.

Great match was played today both sqauds Scotland and Australia sqaud both squads created many trouble and displayed superb performance with each other but victory always goes to one sqaud and this time, Australia squad emerged big victorious because Scotland managed big scores Defeating target for Australian sqaud. After losing this match Scotland squad against Australia squad, Scotland squad is no more available in this competition and also eliminated from this next round of Super Eight. Their is very tough competition among these sqauds England and Scotland sqaud but Scotland sqaud performance is much better than Scotland squad both have equal points 5 but and both squads played same number of matches but these sqauds have major difference in their runs rate and if Scotland squad emerged victory in this match with high runs rate so their squad have chance do qualification but now this is not possible.

Pakistan truly didn't deserve to go to the super 8 stage after almost losing against Ireland whose target was so small. On the other hand, Bangladesh were brilliant against Nepal even though they provided a small target.

All super 8 slots have been filled and I am really excited primarily for West Indies vs Afghanistan tomorrow. Here we go!

In today's match Bangladesh team won against Nepal even with a small target which was interesting. Although Nepal could have beaten the Bangladesh team if they had batted well but they failed to beat Bangladesh due to which the Bangladesh team managed to fill the void in the Super Eight. If Nepal team could have won then maybe Bangladesh team would not have qualified but since Bangladesh won they got chance to play. If the Bangladesh team lost in today's match then there was a possibility of going to the Sri Lankan team but the Bangladesh team took advantage of the opportunity and they successfully went to the Super Eight. But the next round match against Bangladesh with Australia is sure to be more exciting and interesting.

I didn't watch many matches from Windies's leg so not sure what to expect from our team, i guess a lot of it will depend on the pitch. There we had some low scoring matches where you have spin friendly wickets and then some 180-200 run pitches.

Windies will definitely have a massive home advantage, but Afghans will also give tough fights to everyone because if i am not wrong, their matches are scheduled at spin track.

Today's match was incredible to watch especially I was impressed by the bowling performance of both the teams.When the Nepal team was bowling against Bangladesh, their bowlers regularly took Bangladesh wickets against the opposition. As a result Bangladesh team got all out against Nepal with very few runs. None of the Bangladeshi batsmen could bat very well against the Nepalese cricket team. Bangladesh's opening batsman Tanjid Hasan Tamim was dismissed for 0 runs.

We might have been afraid that the Nepalese team might win today given their brilliant bowling performance against Bangladesh. However, when Nepal team needed 22 runs from 12 balls to win, Mustafizur Rahman played an incredible role. In the 19th over, Mustafizur Rahman picked up a wicket for no runs which knocked the Nepal team out of the game completely. Shakib Al Hasan put the final nail in Nepal's coffin by coming to the over, i.e. he took two wickets in the last over and bowled out Nepal.

This is a great achievement for the Australian team.  That his batsmen fought hard and won the match by a margin of 6 runs.  Although they were given a target of 180, they played with good pace and scored 186 runs to win the match.  Scotland's batsmen had given a good and big target in 20 overs but their bowler could not stop the runs and would lose the match.  His team performed well but luck did not favor them and they lost the match.  That is the thing that pressure was not put on their bowler.  Had they worked harder at the end, they could have stopped the run.  But the Australian batsmen did not let the pressure on them and achieved the target with 2 balls to spare and would win the match.

Looks like another match is all set to get washed out thanks to rain. Not really a big deal though since it's a dead rubber match between NZ and PNG, but it still sucks for them thanks to poor ICC planning.

Wonder how many crucial encounters in the future will get screwed by rain. Brainless ICC turds!

Yeah. It's 50-50 in my opinion which makes the match even more exciting and thrilling.

I forgot that it's dead rubber and both teams are already qualified, both of em will have some practice before the Super 8 schedule kicks on.

I actually thought that this is the first match from the super 8 stage and not a dead rubber match which surprised me. Anyway, West Indies just thrashed the Afghans really, really badly to march forward.

Pooran was spectacular and seriously deserved a century. Also, I have no clue why there are 4 matches in a single day and just 1 match on another day. Weird  scheduling!

So far, It's been a good contest, pretty good competition between top 8 ranks. Superbru giving default picks to few guys when they did not select by themselves did favor as well, but remember that they'll give max 5 default picks, also in default picks you don't get margin points.

Super eight schedule quite good, one in morning and one in evening (except today and on 25th June), that's how it should be. A proper cricket fill. I would not have minded had they run whole tournament like this, the wc very short duration anyhow, would have lasted bit longer this way too.

Understandable. This is the T20 format after all where anything can happen and their opponent is South Africa who love choking in big matches. If USA can restrict South Africa under 130, they could possibly win.

You spoke my mind. ICC probably decided the schedule based on convenient times for fans in WI and USA primarily.

SA is doing good so far compared to how they did in group stage (is it due to pitch?) , 6 overs and 64 runs, lost 1 wicket, very good stuff! A good score is on the cards and USA will depend on Corey and on Jones.

Shit Jinxed it.

The batting performance of South Africa at the start of today's match was worth watching. Maybe the batsmen have been able to do a good batting performance for this pitch batting today. Aiden Markram and Quinton de Kock have a great partnership especially in today's batting form. The South African team collected a huge score in today's match with the partnership of these two. Although at the moment the USA team has improved their bowling a bit so they managed to take four wickets otherwise South Africa would have been busy collecting more runs. However, as 173 runs in 18 overs will certainly make a huge score for the South African team today, they can hope for a win.

South Africa ended up winning comfortably as expected, but USA got closer than expected thanks to Gous and Harmeet who stitched a great partnership together. Rabada was amazing in this one.

Have no idea why they replaced someone like Baartman with Shamsi. Bad call! He is easily one of their best fast bowlers.

I got a mixed feeling after seeing those numbers. Average first inning score is 138, Average 2nd inning score is 128. The highest score is 245 and the Highest score chased is 172. The lowest score defended is 106 and the lowest score is 43 (RCB stat alert  ;D).

India decimated Afghanistan in literally every department in this match as expected. Rashid Khan was the only bowler who genuinely troubled the Indian batsmen while the rest were completely mediocre.

On the other hand, Bumrah keeps booming while the rest of the bowlers performed well too. I feel Australia is the only team that stands in India's path to the trophy now.

They heard you; Shamsi out, Baartman in. I mean it was expected the way Shamsi got thrashed in last game against USA.

Meanwhile, QDK carrying SA on his back, except him nothing impressive from rest batters so far.

England has better chance to win this game IMO. They just look strong.

Minutes ago, Buttler's direct hit and Klassen gone, sometimes being miser and taking single can be costly.

Yes there is no doubt that the South Africa batsmen did not work hard and struggle but their batsmen have given a huge target of 195 in 20 overs which prove to be too big for the USA batsmen.  USA batsmen have also work hard and struggle but could not meet the target and will lose the match.  Had they not wasted their speed and balls they could have won the match by scoring 16 runs.  But their batsmen were under pressure from the South Africa bowlers due to which they had to lose the match.  USA batsmen sometimes perform well and give a target of 200 but in this match they failed to meet the target and will lose the match.  They need to perform well so that they can perform well in the next matches and win as many matches as possible. Congratulations to South Africa for this win and keep playing like this.

Today English vs South Africa game was ended and two more games will be also played one game played between India vs Bangladesh team and second game will be held between USA and West indies team. End game England vs South Africa team, South Africa team won this game by 7 runs and England team waa very close to win but failed for 7 runs only if their batsman showed some more and better effort in their lineup their lose change to win but unfortunately now game was end. De kock performed very amazingly in game and earned player of game award at end because his effort in game was best from all player and he scored 65 runs in 38 balls and his hitted was very good four 4s and four 6s. This was the second of South Africa team and England lose this game and their chance reduce to qualify in final game other team India, Australia also played very well but in both of them one team only qualify for final game let's see what happen in today remaining games.

West Indies cricket team gave a very good batting performance in their second match of Super Eight round against USA. But if they had played as well against England in their first match, they might have been able to win that match.
In the match between USA and West Indies, West Indies bowled first and crushed the USA batting line-up for just 130 runs. Among the West Indies bowlers, Roston Chase contributed the most. The spin all-rounder bowled four overs and picked up three wickets for just 19 runs. Maybe it was his first match in this World Cup and he gave a good bowling performance when he got the chance. Similarly, we saw a great batting performance from Shai Hope in this match, he was unbeaten on 82 runs in this match.

Team USA did not bowl very well today against West Indies, due to which they lost. The game West Indies showed today was really interesting 130 runs in 10.5 overs, winning by 9 wickets for the loss of 1 wicket. The highest run scorer in today's match who had an outstanding batting performance was Shai Hope, his batting was superb. Shai Hope saw 8 sixes and four boundaries from his bat today as he collected 82 runs off 39 balls.  USA team did not bat well in today's match, and they bowled too badly due to which West Indies team won easily.

I was hoping Dube would finally play a redemption inning but he got out after playing a blind shot, he's not looking confident, Rinku should be brought in the squad. Dube is looking like a weak link atm tbh.

India gave Bangladesh a huge target as expected and it is pretty evident that they are all set to thrash them, but the question is how big their winning margin will be? Bumrah will probably be their biggest issue.

I don't know. He is striking really well even though he isn't scoring big scores which is why I don't think they will replace him anytime soon.

In previous match, South Africa vs England match. South Africa playing this match with amazing performance. South Africa won the match by 7 runs and this game was very close and intense between both squads . Quinton de kock is very talented player for South Africa. England won the toss. Loved the crazy quarterfinal between South Africa and West Indies. I was supporting the South Africans all the way and was stunned to see Rabada and Jansen of all players finish off the game in style.

West Indies were brilliant, but they squandered the opportunities handed to them thanks to bad South African fielding. Also, India playing well against the Australians currently.

Today it would be wrong to say that Rohit Sharma is playing against Australia. Rohit Sharma scored 41 of the team's 43 runs with 14 tackles and Rishabh Pant remained unbeaten at one run. Due to rain the match is stopped till now but hopefully the match will resume very soon. No decision has yet been taken on whether the overruns will be reduced under the Rain Act.

India team scored good runs by batting in today's match, against Australia. I thought maybe today Australia will put pressure on India very easily, but Indian batsmen gave an amazing performance in the match. 205 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in today's match is a huge score in today's match, but Australia will have to work hard to meet this target. India's batsman Rohit Sharma has been an experienced captain of the team and has batted brilliantly, scoring 92 runs. Rohit Sharma was in the best form in today's match, however, in this match India team made such a big score for this batsman. Anyway I think it is not so easy for Australia to meet the target of 206 runs in today's match, today match is likely to be won by India.

No doubt, we are seeing some really exciting matches lately. Their performance was outstanding and they were proving that they are top level players. Hardik Pandya is a very talented boy for India team. Tanzid Hassan is very powerful man for Bangladesh team his effort was brilliant with their brilliant skills. Bangladesh won the toss. The best batting performance in the India man team was by hardik Pandya scored 50 runs and 27 balls hitting 4 fours and 3 sixs. The lost batting performance in the Bangladesh man team was by jaker Ali scored 1 runs and 4 balls hitting 0 fours and 0 sixs. Bangladesh elected to batting first. I hope Bangladesh will play better in the nest match. Their recent performance India have been outstanding and they continue to play exceptionally well in every match.

Yesterday, even with 200+ score chase, Australia did well, I'm glad they are out of the tourney, this specie can be dangerous.

England should have been out as well, Australia tried to hand over the game to Scotland but they were simply not mature enough to take it.

To qualify, they had to chase this target under 13 over but Bangbro has a defeatist mindset. Had they played with some intent in such a scenario, then there might be some proud faces in the dugout and back home. It was a tough pitch for sure but when you have nothing to lose, at least try to maximize your chances by swinging.

I watch a lot of USA matches.  That their performance is getting worse.  Their batting pace is not going well.  And the runs are not stopped by their bowlers due to which they lose the matches.  They must overcome their weaknesses and win as many matches as possible.  But they are not interested in this and are losing the match.  And in this qualification also they did not work hard and struggle and will be out of the qualification.  And the England team has qualified by working hard and struggling.  England team will easily win the match in this match.  Their bowlers applied good pressure and managed only 115 runs and their batsmen completed the target of 115 in just 10 overs to win the match.  Congratulations to England for this easy win.  USA must work hard and strive to become a strong team as well.  But they do not consider this thing and lose the match.

Jokes apart, their hard work and dedication are commendable, they have defeated favorites on a lot of occasions and they have played very well throughout the tournament and finally secured their position in the semis.

They 100% can if everything goes their way, but I don't see that happening because I feel that this is South Africa's cup since they have been crazy lucky throughout the tournament and that same luck could guide them to the cup.

I guess superbru gives you three free default picks in case you do not pick any three of the matches, you will get a default winner 1 point for that match. So sometimes its a blessing (and some people may use it as a tactic too) to not pick three matches and get 3 points.

If we talk about which team deserves it the most based on their history in the world cups, I would say it's South Africa for sure because they have faced defeat in the semis or finals a lot of times and if they get it this time, they will be extremely happy with that. For Afghanistan, it's their first time reaching this stage, so even if they don't win it or reach the final, they would still be happy to make it this far and they will improve more till the next time.

However, we can't ignore the fact that South Africa is a choker, they tend to choke on a lot of occasions and we have seen this in this tournament as well. England and India both play very well under pressure, but since they are playing against each other, only one of them can go to the final.

Overall, the final is going to be interesting.

Afghanistan might reach finals defeating South Africa in semis, but in the finals they'll likely face India and I find it impossible that they'll be able to defeat India.

I think the Afghanistan team may beat South Africa at the pace they are currently following. If the Afghanistan team can defeat South Africa in the semi-final and reach the final, then the possibility of facing India is high. Because England will never match India and if Afghanistan and India meet in the final then India will be the champion. In the current position the Afghan team is in, they will definitely try their best to beat South Africa and reach the final.

How are you so sure, cricket is a game of glorious uncertainty i.e. if you predict in advance it may not be correct. We saw at the end of the group stage games that four teams qualified for the semi-final round.
The first semi-final between those four teams will take place tomorrow, with Afghanistan and South Africa facing each other. We don't know which of these two teams will win but based on the performance of both the teams at present they are both going in the same direction. On the other hand in the second semi-final match India and England will face each other these two teams are very strong and they have such powerful players in their team that they can turn the match at any time.

The semi-final 2 match of India vs England was held. The Indian team went into bat in the first innings. Although at the moment two experienced batsmen are trying to form the opening pair, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are both excellent batsmen. If both of them can perform exceptionally well against England in today's match, India will be sure of the batting and they can enter the final. Today's match England team will not let India reach the winning stage so easily but they decided to bowl after winning the toss rather they have a target. In today's match, England team will target the runs that India will score and give a good batting performance to win. (Don't get me wrong I'm not blaming his performance this tourney even a bit, he's done lot before, and his mere presence in team is paramount).

And it was also a very strong and interesting match.  In which both teams are strong and performing well.  The Indian batsmen have just performed and set a big target of 171 in the match.  If seen, it is not difficult for England.  But the Indian bowler has now applied pressure with efficiency to stop the run of the England batsmen and take wickets and not allow the target to be achieved.  No, our guess proved wrong.  I expected India to win this match.  And so it happened.  England is a good and strong team but their batsmen could not generate good pace and the whole team will be out in 16 overs and will be out of the final.  Congratulations to India for this win and also for going to the final.  And now the final match is between South Africa and India in which I hope that India will win the final match.  The England team had worked hard and struggled but could not reach the final.

Favorite is clearly India while South Africa are the underdogs, but this is the T20 format and it's the battle of the chokers which is why it's 50:50 in my opinion. Excited!

Superb victory Indian squad and Congrats for successfully beating South Africa sqaud with high innings performance in final match against South Africa sqaud. India played I think 15 matches and in all 15 matches, India sqaud is still  unbeaten with win this final match. Hardik Pandiya was displayed great performance in match both in bowling and batting Inning, he took down 3 wickets after bowling 3 batters and gave 20 scores. Both Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh also bowled greatly and each bowlers picked up 2 wickets and total 4 batter wickets. Heinrich Klaasen tried very hard and also displayed significant performance in batting Inning and collecting 52 scores with amazing shots and off 27 deliveries of this batter played 2 to 3 more overs they surely South Africa squad will emerge victory and lost match by 7 scores.

Congratulations Team India on winning the finals. They truly deserve it. The team showed character and stood firm under a lot of pressure. It was not an easy win but a win that was snatched from South Africans.

I was all for South Africa but they choked again unfortunately. At some stage they needed 30 runs out of 30 balls. Millar and Klaasen was in the pitch. From that point how can a team loss the match. Only the chokers can show it to the world :-D

In my experience, Sponsors always help but for a paid contest, just creating the main thread is not enough. One should also approach several active members via cricket threads or PMs (if you've interacted with them enough in the forum). At times, it could be depressing because lack of responses but in a good season one could find 12-15 active members who are willing to pay. At worst, 7-8 members. In the last couple of seasons, I got damn busy irl otherwise I'd have taken this initiative but I will try to get into it again from the next IPL season.

I've noticed 2 prediction threads for the t-20 WC and at least 3 separate threads for the IPL, not including the main T-20 thread.

I did PM members actively commenting in cricket threads for this contest, most of them responded well and joined the contest, but some despite joining didn't make all picks, so competition was between 8 members despite having 16 contestants on the board.


Yeah, I don't understand purpose of creating such topics either when there is already main t20 (or odi/test) discussion thread, but IMO for contests having their own discussion thread is justified, not separate but just allow discussion within the contest announcement topic.

I do not agree with this as this one was free contest where there was no joining fee and we had around 16 members participating but by the time we reached Super 8s and later stages only 8 or 9 remained active. So you can imagine if people aren't showing interest in the free contest, it will be even harder to convince them for paid contests.



Well, when you see the gambling discussion board, you will find so many threads for the football fans. For every League, World Cup, Euro, Copa America etc there are separate threads so what is the harm if we have a seperate disccuson threads for the cricket main events too. See this thread ICC Men's T20 World Cup - 2024 #Cricket Prediction and Discussion (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5494879.0) and you will find around 25+ pages being created during the duration of the tornament which suggest that there is enough participations in these discussion threads.

Rich people these days browse bitcointlak. $100 to $500 or even $1000 is not a good amount for them. Go and find a sponsor who will spend $10,000 or more. Give them an opportunity to earn a few thousands from the prize pool, I am sure you will see 30 or more members joining and active in the pool :-D


In cricket the problem is - there are no longer version of leagues like football leagues. For one months tournament mostly advertisers do not want to spend a lot of money, not even $500. 

Maybe its off-topic and I am wrong about my views, but I want to mention one thing here usually on cricket topics we are having members from the India, Pakistan and few from other regions which is important fact about pools usually when any Pakistani having pool we have no Indian or just one or two and when we have any Indian then we have the good number of members as participants in this pool this mind-set having problem here.
If we have no problem like this then most chances in every pool of IPL, PSL, T20i World Cup or ODI World Cup we can have nearly 15 to 20 members which are still good number for any pool and this can create good positive atmosphere about the pool and prize as well.
