Title: Please remove this user from this forum.
Post by: Darkstone2 on March 31, 2014, 02:28:35 PM
For the past few days the neobee thread has been a mess.

But there is one person that has the particular talent to stir everything up. I have asked him politely to leave1, but that had no effect.

In the past few days, this user:
  • has accused multiple forums members for being part of the the 'MPEx hit squad'.2, 3
  • has accused multiple forum members of corruption.4, 5, 6
  • has accused multiple forum members of usage of multiple accounts on this very forum.7, 8, 18
  • Is constantly trying to discredit users based on their post count of registration date.9
  • Is constantly insulting others.10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18
  • Has started his own 'spam free' version of the NeoBee thread. Oh, the irony. Oh, and he spams there, too.2
  • And most of all, this user has never provided any evidence for any of these claims. Obviously i can't cite any source on this one, sorry.

Therefore i ask the moderators to remove user Herp (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=135549) from this forum. Don't forget to ban his IP just in case Herp has experience with multiple accounts.

Have a nice day.

Cleanup in progress. You really should be bringing up the other users that are causing the topic to go off-topic as well...

Title: Re: Please remove this user from this forum.
Post by: Darkstone2 on March 31, 2014, 11:46:47 PM
This is not disguised as forum complaint. Herp is the only one that truly annoys me. Not because he is negative or off topic, but because of the constant usage of insults.
Believe me, i know me fair share or users such as herp that create 'discussion' only by discrediting their opponents.

Users such as MPOE-PR are annoying, but being merely annoying does not warrant a ban. General disrespect does. That said you two are correct that Herp is not the only one whose posts should be removed.

There we are. Got some dinner and finished the cleanup.

Unlike other mods, I believe in the broken windows theory (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broken_windows_theory): This thread has gone unchecked for so long that people were pushed into off-topic trolling. So for the most part, I'll let this slide.

The next time an off-topic post is made, however, I will take serious consideration about banning its poster.

Ban the guy just because he annoys you?

I you read my post closely, you'll see why he annoys me. As soon as somebody is actively accusing fellow members of corruption & co , you cross the line where i believe you don't deserve to be be part of an community any longer.

MPOE-PR perma-banned. His only option to get his account back is an appeal to theymos.

I am not fucking around.

I'll have no part of this bullshit forum anymore.

You ban the only people giving it a sense of reality, the only people questioning things that deserve to be questioned.

You protect the ignorant, the scammers, and the real trolls.

You've got it all backwards just because people are sensitive, sheltered luddites.

In short: Fuck you, motherfuckers.

Ban me.

I think you have a point. You have reasons why you pulled out and you know them so far. No one else knows what is going on and they have money is invested also. Please lets get information out there. If you know something say it. Posts of mine that have been deleted are not off topic. They are on topic of Neo Bee and not operating. Deleting my posts explaining my factual information is frustrating. It is frustrating because you are watching this happen and knowing what you know with no one listening.

i can't believe this forum is supposed to be the center of the bitcoin community; this is an absolute joke.

how ever much i dislike MPOE-PR as a person, her insight is usually spot on, and her arguments usually come with allot of substance; shes probably one of the few people on this forum that actually deserve to be listened to. your doing this all wrong, you are clearly on a powertrip, or either that, you are incapable of such responsibility

and any person of authority who posts "im not fucking around" as a threat to everyone, should never be in a position of power in the first place. that's not a joke. this community needs grown ups, not kids

Don't mourn PR much. Her/his other accounts are already in full swing posting disinformation left and right. They've already made a few obnoxious posts in this thread.

MP PR account is attacking everything that could be competition for MP's exchange, accusing them of shadiness. Because every broken clock is right twice a day, she/he sometimes gets it right.

MP PR attacked Havelock exchange ferociously to discredit them. Do you agree with such behavior TAT? I believe you've profited quite handsomely from working with Havelock, haven't you?

bullshit... it's got ridiculous and it needs a no fucking around attitude as absolutely no one is any position to dissuade the nonsense apart from moderators. I was posting nonsensical nothings purely to balance out the utter river of anti neo drivel and fud that kept on pouring into the neobee thread.

Until there is something of substance to discuss what the hell is the point of posting anything along the lines of what ended up in that thread.

RE "insights" being spot on... sure, spot on indeed: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=516460.msg5708705#msg5708705

I'm sorry but as much as darkstone has cited a clear case here, Herp also has a point - sock puppets with an agenda are obvious, and the direct link with MPOE-PR also has a strong case considering they were spouting the same shit in unison... but obviously is only speculation. He's clearly a man wound up in the extreme here.

As is TAT clearly, who should elaborate really because that comment doesn't make a lot of sense without more context

Ban me.

Just for reference, after Maged issued a warning in the Neo & Bee thread that it was not to be derailed and that further instigation would result in a permanent-ban, MPOE-PR posted "Fuck You." I'm not one to follow all of the typical MPEx drama but in this scenario MPOE-PR was clearly not acting in a professional manner. His / her opinion was more than welcomed in the thread, but there really was no reason for the hostility. Of the 10 pages deleted approximately 3~4 posts were submitted by MPOE-PR; this indicates that Maged's actions were clearly not just directed at a single target (Unless you're one to believe that MPEx controls all of the "troll" accounts, I have no opinion on the matter). This makes the actions of MPOE-PR, and your accusation against Maged unwarranted.

To be honest while MPOE-PR is always quite snarky, he / she usually remains civil, so that post seems a bit out of character. The same type of hostility can be seen in this post by TAT and that too seems out of character-- is it possible that their accounts have been compromised? I won't pretend I know either well or even the forum politics, I'm just a lurker.

Exactly. If anybody has any questions about my fairness in moderating that thread, I advise them to check the Moderation Log (https://bitcointalk.org/modlog.php). If it seemed like I deleted a reasonable post, that was probably because it was a reply to an off-topic post. Replies to off-topic posts must also be removed in order to make moderation more invisible and to reduce the broken window effect. If you didn't receive a message from me, that means that you weren't one of the worst offenders in that thread, so you shouldn't take the deletions personally.

I suspect that the account was sold, actually. This hostility only showed up a few months ago.

Honestly, I suspect that it will just be converted into a temp ban. However, I think that other mods would agree with me that a permanent ban would not be out of place here.

If anyone wants to complain about me giving out one single permanent ban after a person specifically quoted the post where I said to stay on topic and yet went off-topic anyway, let me put things into perspective:

If a person merely posts their alt-coin address in a coin announcement thread in the alt-coin board, standard policy is to give them a 14-day ban. I believe that is really stupid. Therefore, it would be fair to say that I'm one of the most lenient moderators on this forum. Had anybody else deleted 10 pages of posts, you can bet your ass that there would be more than just warnings given out.

I really am on the side of the users, so please remember that. The last thing that I ever want to do is hit the ban button. Sometimes I just have to, though, to protect everyone else from sucumbing to the broken window effect.

My account was not sold, that's preposterous. I've never even had anyone offer to buy it!
What happened is I got fed up with the alternate reality this forum has become.

I'd sign a message with my former AM1 holding address, or my current WoT one... if I actually believed it would help anything... and if I actually believed anyone in disbelief could verify a signed message in the first place.

Or maybe I should pretend I did steal/buy this account... but you probably wouldn't ban me for that either.

Oh, I have an idea. How about I accuse Theymos and this forum for supporting and harboring known scammers like Garr255? After being publicly shamed and outed for lying and fluffing his own auctions, he continued to post and solicit people. Why wasn't he banned?

Or how about I accuse Theymos of misleading donors and advertisers into investing into something they were told would improve over time. Instead of improved software, they got a haven for socks and shills. Instead of an investment in the "community", they got a playground for sociopaths and idiots prone to stockholm syndrome.

What say you mods? What say you Theymos? Can a brother get a ban-hammer or what?

Oh, sorry. I should have been more clear. I was talking about MPOE-PR's account, not yours. I haven't dealt with you enough to know if you've had a recent personality shift. That being said, buying and selling accounts here is allowed, so I don't really care either way.

Why do you want to be banned so badly? Because of something that didn't even affect you? If that's the case, just leave on good terms and come back once you've calmed down.

TAT why did you have to sell your soul to the cult of mpex?

It's not the mods job to identify and purge scams.

It is their job to keep threads on topic and remove trolls.

It is not debatable that mpoe-pr is a paid troll and its good he/she is silenced.

But ultimately you are right about this forum being an alternate reality but only compared to the fantasy that mpex cult members are living in.

It does affect him because he is one of mpex biggest customers/supporters. Without mpoe pr spamming bs all over the forum there will be less noobs lured in to paying the 30btc fee to join the cult.

Noobs?  Paying 30BTC fee??  Wouldn't they be more likely lured into investing a fraction of one BTC in a Cypriot Bank?  On a Panamanian exchange?  Owait...

BTW, TAT managed NEOBEE pass-through on Havelock.  Now, as I understand it, no one does.

I did bother to read.  I read about BFL unfortunately after I bought from them and I read about HashFast, Black Arrow, Neo & Bee etc... etc... all on this forum.  The funny thing is that the truth from the few was/is always not calm and full of "fuck you"s.  Of course later everyone gets to be not calm and uses "fuck you" but they might as well calm down since by that point there's not much to be done.  So I'll gladly take as many of the not calm "fuck you"s as possible please.

And yet someone that promotes people to spam the trust rating system on a daily basis gets a pass? Wow I wonder if the rules are written down somewhere.

6 people post 6  trust ratings a day to enter a "CONTEST" and is this allowed? If they were to use the PM system that would also be a violation right? So what is the exact difference?

I highly suggest the administrators of this forum to very closely look into what's going on with the forum, users and the administrators.

Why are scammers allowed to bribe and gain perks that makes it easier to scam?
After they're caught for scamming (TradeFortress/inputs.io for example,) they are still allowed to be part of the community like everyone else? With the perks they've gained by bribing, of course.

I totally understand why people want themselves to get banned. I also see why they do it loudly. That is because the administration of this forum isn't seeing what is happening.

zhoutong, usagi, MagicalTux and TradeFortress, Graet, gigavps, Goat are "VIP". Unless I am mistaken, they are responsible for millions of losses.

Rotten at its core.

Break the rules, you get banned.

Yes. Perfect! except that, in the OP, i point to an user that has broken the rules at least 18 times in less than a week, and he's still walking around.

I could go around and find at least 5 other people that broke the rules at least 10 times in the past week. But i think that will be pretty useless. Even when herp himself delivers evidence to this thread... nothing happens.

No he's not.

BadBear for president!

Well, the guy who started this topic has been banned, and thus can't moderate this thread.  He is currently ban-evading (a bannable offence) as ChopChop in his *new* self-moderated thread.

I'm a Neo shareholder that wants to see a normal discussion going on, without the MPEx bias so I'm starting a moderated thread.

Herp can't moderated the other thread for the next 5 days as efforts to ban him have succeeded.
...

There is no way to know that a user has been banned, or how long that ban is, unless you are that user.
Petty crime is petty.
I should be pointing out the irony of this situation:

MPOE-PR perma-banned. His only option to get his account back is an appeal to theymos.

I am not fucking around.

This is the best thing to happen to this forum. Although theymos will probably unban with a little bribe.

Please ban me. I'm serious.

Ban me.

This is the most immature/arrogant thing I've seen you post on this forum.

You should've seen his reddit account then.

Where's TaT nowadays?  I notice he logs in, but hasn't posted in a while?  Was he banned?
