A Lot of people are of the idea that gambling is something that is used as a leisure or having fun with as they consider gambling to be more of entertainment but personally I disagree with such theories because looking critically at the question on ground anything that you can invest your hard earned money into should not be seen as just leisure but is something that can bring back return on investment so gambling should be seen from the point of view of making money

Because there is no way you will buy goods as a business man and not expect profit so gambling should be seen as something that will be beneficial to the gambler financially as it's more like an investment

Just think of 'gamble for fun and not a way of making money' as something like an idiom. It means you should be careful of your money while gambling. It means you should gamble responsibly. It means you should not look for money while gambling as it draws most gamblers into gambling addiction.

Considering that the house has the edge and experts advice that you only gamble with money that you can afford to lose, then you should put gambling to its true perspective and not treat it as an investment where you can come in to put money and come out with profit.

Even as it is considered as fun, that does not mean people dont want to make money from it. Just that it is programed in a way you hardly win a decent amount, that's why it is considered fun.

OMG, I don't know how you define gambling but you seem misleading about the nature of gambling.

Honestly, I'm a part of the people who always state that gambling is ideally for fun only. This is also a personal opinion, nothing wrong with this. This even reminds everyone to not gamble excessively because it is for fun only. What's wrong with this?

Anyway, gambling isn't a proper place if you expect for high returns (profits). Learn again how high the chance to win in gambling!! You must understand that it mostly relies on the luck. How we can expect for the regular returns with this fact? IMO, gambling is only a place to try your luck..

Gambling can be more fun and fulfilling if you are also making money as well, that’s why a lot of gamblers are trying harder to create good returns, than just risking their funds and all they get is just leisure. However, we should not make it as a priority, but rather just do it when you have spare time and money to spend, or else you will fall on its trap and make your finances poorer, while making the casino richer and happier.

This I have to disagree though, it seems that you are comparing gambling to bring money for you like a job or investment. Actually, that is not correct... When you take money and spend it on things you are either investing or simply paying for a product or a service. I would not call to buy food an investment or paying to go to a cinema and watch a movie to be an investment, and hence the latter example of paying a ticket to watch a movie is quite analog to what gambling is supposed to be if we want to be responsible in the long term.
The gambling budget is the same as the cost of a cinema ticket, as soon as you send the money and get the ticket you do not expect to get your money back, since you are paying for entertainment.

I think the complete opposite.  I gamble for fun.  People spend money to go watch a concert why cant i gamble for entertainment.  Whether i spend $200 on a comcert or $200 gambling if they both entertain me then why not?  If you plan to gamble to make money, it will cripple your mental health.  Most gamblers over the long term dont make that much money.  The highs and lows emotionally arent worth it.

Easy to say, but it's hard to do. I've gambled as well and had that kind of thinking, but there are times where I went from gambling from fun to gambling for the sake of profit and of course, I end up losing because I'm always not contented with my profits. It all depends on each individual how to deal with gambling because there are several reasons why they gamble, some just fill their free time by enjoying gambling games, including looking for sensations or just for fun, looking for new ways to fight boredom, relieve stress and gambling can lighten the mood, looking for opportunities to beat opponents, socialize or just test our luck with the skills we have.

Gambling will not harm us if we deal with it and play with full awareness and also use money that we can afford if we lose, and in my personal opinion gambling for fun is the same as going to a bar or other nightlife venue using a few dollars just to have fun and relieve stress after being busy with work and it will make me happy and forget about it. And sometimes in that way I can get lucky.

I'm not sure about this statement, i mean, a poker tournament can be fun and money if the consequence if you get to the end same with sport bets where you will enjoy a match more if money is involved. To see your favorite team win feels good, but win money while they win feels better.

So, gambling can be done for fun and not always for money, if you are chasing the money then go with a high multiplier and go all in, if your bet is lucky then just walk away with the profit.

Gambling is not an investment - I saw above someone sharing the link with you about what an investment is; you might wanna go through it and see the difference between what an actual investment is and what gambling is.

You need to differentiate between "investment" and "gambling". When you gamble, you are simply risking your money there in the hope that you will win from your game. But you have to understand that here you are playing against the house edge where your chances of winning are not that high. So it is not "investment" as you say, it is basically gambling and there is no guarantee that you can win here. From my personal opinion I disagree with your statement.
If you consider gambling as an investment, it is clearly not an investment. Investment is something that is done in the long term or short term and you fully control your assets. While gambling is fully managed by the casino owner and you only come to pay to find pleasure.
Don't think of all of that as the same because it is all very different. If you really want to invest, everyone will prefer to buy BTC and hold it in the long term and the assets are fully controlled by ourselves.

It is not even most gamblers do not make money over long term. It is most gamblers are losing in gambling over long term which is the right sentence to use for it. Most people that got addicted got addicted because they wanted to earn from gambling. There strategy will fail and they will look for another one and so on and they will continue to lose. Well I will assume to get your point a bit which is where I would always say that I don really find fund on the online casinos but of the physical casinos where I can physically connect with people and have lot of gambling discussions of good and bad times experiences. Sorry but your opinion seems to be different from what the op (the post you quoted) is saying, your comment seems to be centered around bankroll management, while the op is talking about not treating gambling as a funfair, or means of having fun as believed it should be treated by alot of other gamblers.

Well, this two are different just incase I understand you correctly, and as a matter of facts, decreasing or increasing one's bet amount based on how big or small one's bankroll is does not directly opens any door to being a successful gambler, this tactics or method only helps a gambler better manage their bankroll.

Don't take it literally. Gambling for fun is for casino and slot games because there's no way one person could come up with a strategy for those types of games. Yes, gambling is something that we can use to pleasure in our spare time. But we don't have to try to makes money and only enjoy our time in gambling so we don't lose too much money. But if you have the intention to make money, you needs to realize that will not easy for you especially many people already lose their money.

I've been trying to understand the meaning of fun in gambling for a long time, maybe I've found it.
Gambling and having fun in my understanding, they are different words but one goal is (money) meaning: someone will be happy and can have fun based on having money, gambling will have fun because they will get money and win in gambling bets, in fact no one will have fun without money.

nope I disagree with you most of the rich people have made their money through gambling which is not right at all. Rich people have got to their position through their hard work and perseverance. Most of the gambling will not let you get rich because the developers use their strategies and do not let the gamblers win. I think gambling is a mental peace and through it you can get entertainment and sometimes it is impressive to win which makes you tempted again. The number of people who get rich through gambling is very insignificant whose luck is too good and they mostly think of luck as the hero in their strategy.

I think it is easier to earn money at a regular job than to become a professional, and no one thinks that they may not succeed at all and fail. Sometimes you just need to take your time, network and calmly answer yourself the question of whether we can morally endure all this or not, only honestly.

Funny or not , neither works for me so here I am  ;D ;D. I mean , whenever I tend to bet to have fun , I usually do for a couple of bets but then the fun is slowly transition into frustration and I stop betting.
