Joseph Parker is the WBO mandatory challenger and they have ordered Usyk and Parker to agree terms within 30 days for a fight to take place before the end of the year. If they do not agree terms, the WBO will open purse bids.

The only heavyweight boxer that has earned the right to fight Usyk has to be Parker,. He has beaten Wilder, Zhang and Bakole in his last three fights and was supposed to fight Dubois before Dubois pulled out citing an illness that was when Martin Bakole stepped in at short notice but was beaten badly as Joseph knocked him out.

If Usyk refuses the fight he will have to surrender the WBO belt and will no longer be undisputed heavyweight champion. In that scenario, Parker will be awarded the belt and become WBO heavyweight champion.

I am not familiar with Joseph Parker, but it looks like he did great in his last three fights. But despite that, I don't think he'll be able to beat Usyk. In Usyk's rematch with Dubois this July 19, he showed how dominant he can be in his fight. I have no doubt Usyk will outbox Joseph if they fought.

Too bad Parker didn't get to fight Dubois, it would have been interesting to watch.

We can't be too sure about this till the fight happens only then can we find out if Joseph parker can beat Usyk or not. Am a big supporter of Usyk, but I also understand that Usyk cannot be champion forever. At some point he's going to lose unless he retire before then. Joseph parker has been winning his recent matches same as Usyk so you can't completely write off Parker. Parker is also showing some similarities that Usyk was showing back then when he was rising to stardom. Usyk Vs Parker would have been more interesting than what we saw against Dubios.

I started to respect USYK game more when he beat Tyson Fury. USYK has a rich history in boxing excellence as at amateur level he won the gold medal in the Olympics. But USYK is that class clown type of guy and not the usual mean looking, trash talking, show bolting boxing heavyweight. After his last fight USYK said that 38 is a young man so Parker being 33 won’t be a problem.
USYK boxing style is polished and usually perfectly executed than his opponents style. Parker is a strong guy with elite boxing talent but USYK is will knockout Parker .

I voted for Usyk to beat Parker. We've seen Usyk's speed against Dubois and so even if in paper it looks like Parker might have a good chance, it might be another easy fight for Usyk here. And if he beat's Parker, then he swept this division for good. Parker's previous opponent doesn't have the boxing IQ of Usyk. They all have the mentality to brawl and uses their power but Parker is too smart with that. However, with Usyk style of a southpaw and being slick, it's going to be very hard for Parker to just play defense early and then wait for his opponent to get's tired. And so if he goes early and fight toe to toe with Usyk, he might end up like Dubois and gets knockout by Usyk.

I still think Usyk would win if what I read about Parker is true. Usky has not been defeated before but Parker has been defeated before by Anthony Joshua, Dillian Whyte, and Joe Joyce.

So I still will prefer to choose Usyk in the fight to be the one that would win. This guy is a legend that I believe no boxer may be able to win for now.

Like I said before, am a big supporter of Usyk and I love everything he represents, his style of fighting and what he has accomplished so far in this industry. But what am just saying is that Parker shouldn't be written off until he gets the opportunity to show us what he got. I remember when Anthony Joshua was so hot and he was winning almost everything that came his way. When the chance of him fighting Usyk came, lots of people wrote off Usyk, he was considered underdog but at the end of the day, Usyk defeated him and since then he has been conquering everyone from then till this day. What if something like this happens with parker? Or don't you think that Usyk will lose a fight some day? As long as it is a competitive match I won't write anyone off, they both have the chances of winning, and if this fight is to happen, and with what Parker is doing, I will stay neutral.

The best place to put you money between Usky and Parker is on Usky but if you are a risk taker you would go for Parker. I am feeling like going crazy and for some reason I am backing Parker to win Usky. Everything is saying Usky wins but I have seen even Anthony Joshua lose to people he was meant to beat easily.

I have absolute respect for Usyk, what a great champion. It is obvious the majority will vote in favour of Usyk because of his unbeaten run including beating Joshua twice, Fury twice and Dubois twice.

Parker is the last man standing. They have never met before but I am sure the boxer that beat Wilder, Zhang and Bakole deserves his chance. Parker has been patient. He lost back to back fights against Joshua and Whyte in 2018, then suffered a loss to Joyce in 2022. Since then, Parker has re-grouped and had six consecutive wins.

It was nice to see Parker in the ring congratulating and hugging Usyk after his win over Dubois. There was mutual respect between them I hope Usyk does not vacate the WBO belt in arrange a bout with a different opponent.

Maybe you're right, as I said, I am not familiar with Parker, so I don't know the full scope of his boxing skills. He might give Usyk more of a challenge than Dubois did, but I still don't think he'll beat Usyk.

Anyway, we'll see what happens in their fight, they still have almost a month to get to an agreement.

I also voted for Usyk to win. Most likely though the heavyweight division is no longer that stack and at least Usyk has almost clean up the division except for Parker obviously. And you are right, he had regroup and have been winning, specially his impressive win against the Chinese as he was able to weathered that fight as we all know that Zhang has knockout power.

And if my memory serves me right, he should be the mandatory challenger for Usyk, but he gave way for Dubois. Now, it's his time but I don't see anyone in the heavyweight division to beat Usyk though. You really have to be very fast and has power to overcome Usyk specially his southpaw stance.

Zhang and Bakole are massive, they are stand much taller and wider than Parker an that was why most boxers were avoiding them but not Parker. He took them on and won. Wilder is past his best but Parker beat him too. He only ended up fighting Bakole because Dubois pulled out of the fight citing an illness but full credit to Bakole even though he was out of shape, he entered the ring at short notice and fought Parker.

Without a doubt Parker deserves his chance. He had to pick himself up after losing back to back fights with Joshua and then Whyte, followed by a loss four years later to Joyce. He had to fight dangerous opponents to get to this stage where he became the WBO mandatory contender.

On a humorous note, Parker has send out a parody video featuring a song trying to entice Usyk to agree to the fight.

Having said that, there is a worrying update regarding Usyk and Parker. According to Parker, they have not heard from Usyk and his team and have no idea whether Usyk will surrender the WBO belt in order to avoid fighting Parker or whether he will agree to the fight.

This is a fight most boxing fans would like to see. I hope Usyk agrees to fight Parker because it will be brilliant event watching two highly trained professional athletes trying their best to win what should be a very tough fight.

Usyk has asked the WBO to wait and to not force him in to a fight with Parker. He claims to have a shoulder injury therefore has asked for an extension on the negotiation deadline. The longer this uncertainty goes on for it seems as though the fight might not happen.

I just saw an article about this and was about to post what I read. Anyway, I also read that if Parker vs Usyk doesn't happen because of Usyk's shoulder injury, Parker might have to fight whoever wins between Moses Itauma vs Dillian Whyte on August 16(today).

  Well, if we’re talking about Parker vs Usyk for the WBO belt, I’d say the probability of Parker actually winning is pretty low at this stage. Usyk is a very complete fighter — great footwork, elite ring IQ, and he adapts quickly even against heavy hitters. Parker has power and experience, no doubt, and he’s been looking sharper recently, but stylistically Usyk is a nightmare for him. I’d personally rate Parker’s chances at maybe 25% maximum, unless Usyk makes a rare mistake or slows down more than expected.

If you look at Usyk’s top opponents in heavyweight, most of them either beat Parker already or looked much stronger when you compare common fights:
Anthony Joshua – beat Parker by decision back in 2018, while Usyk handled AJ twice.
Derek Chisora – gave Parker a really tough fight (some even argue Parker could’ve lost that one), but Usyk outboxed Chisora pretty clean.
Joe Joyce – straight up knocked Parker out, even though Joyce himself got beaten by Zhang. Usyk hasn’t fought Joyce yet, but stylistically a lot of people believe he’d deal with him.

It seems the WBO is stating they will not hand Parker the WBO belt if Usyk fails to agree terms with Parker. They seem to making a title fight between Parker and the winner of the Itauma vs Whyte fight with the winner becoming the WBO champion.

If Usyk does not go ahead to fight Parker, I think Parker should become the immediate WBO champion. I like Parker, when he is in the ring he does fear any opponent. He beat Zhang, Wilder and Bakole when other boxers were avoiding them and he has waited long enough for a chance to reclaim some/all of the belts he lost to Joshua all those years ago.

Joshua is not going to make a successful comeback against a worthy opponent though he might win a couple of handpicked fights in his attempt to get one last title fight. I am certain if Parker fought Joshua today, Parker would win and he would beat both Joyce and Chisora.

If Usyk vs Parker does go ahead, without a doubt Usyk would be favourite but Parker is a formidable opponent. He has been pushing for the fight with Usyk for a long time because he genuinely believes he will win. Hopefully Usyk will make an announcement soon about whether he wants to fight Parker or not.

Parker is the only boxer left standing in the current group of the best that has not faced Usyk yet I have a suspicion he will not fight Parker and for that reason will surrender the WBO belt.

But as far as I know, if the current belt title holder declines the mandatory fight, the mandatory challenger would need to fight another highest-ranking boxer in their division, so I think it's only valid that Parker needs to fight whoever wins between Moses Itauma vs Dillian Whyte. that being said, I kind of feel bad for parker, the guy was supposed to fight Usyk in a mandatory fight but Dubios cut in line to get a fight with Usyk.

Parker had a fight arranged with the then IBF champion Dubois but Dubois pulled out citing an illness. Parker was deprived of an IBF title fight against Dubois but he went on to beat Bakole. Dubois went on to have a unification fight with Usyk therefore Parker has a right to feel he deserves a title fight.

Maybe in the next few days, the WBO will make a statement on where they stand with Usyk and his non-negotiations with Parker.

There's an update, I just saw an article where it says that the WBO has granted Usyk's request to extend the negotiation deadline for the mandatory fight between Usyk and Parker. So I guess we might not see an update for a bit regarding their fight. I do hope they agree to fight each other in the end, as I think Parker really wanted to fight Usyk, and he deserves that fight.

I think it's fair, the request by Usyk for the extension is that he had suffered injury from fighting Dubois so he needed some rest first before he can face Parker. We don't want to see him not 100% against Usyk.

So I'm siding with Usyk here, it's the right decision and the WBO should also grant that request and not force the fight. Otherwise, Usyk will have no choice but to vacant the WBO belt or the WBO stripping him of their belt.

Another update regarding Usyk. I just saw an article where the WBC is requesting a new detailed medical report regarding Usyk's back injury after a video of him surfaced, in which he is seen dancing. The article also mentioned that if Usyk's team failed to comply, the organisation would have no choice but to take appropriate actions against Usyk.

It does not look good nor professional on part of Usyk to see him dancing at a concert when he claims his wrist is injured and he cannot commit to defending his titles against Parker. The fact of the matter is that Parker is desperate to get in to the ring with Usyk whereas Usyk is not signing a contract as the WBO want and seems to be avoiding him.

Parker is the last of the real solid experienced boxers in the heavyweight division that Usyk did not fight. Parker is a former heavyweight champion, he believes he will win the fight and is desperate for another heavyweight title fight. What is Usyk doing?

It looks like there is a high chance that Parker will not be fighting Usyk yet. I saw several articles talking about Parker's team are close to finalising a fight against Fabio Wardley. If the deal is a success, the fight will happen on October 25. also, from what I understand, if Parker loses to Wardley, Parker would lose his chance of fighting Usyk. All in all, if this fight with Wardley happens, I feel bad for Parker, the guy's Opponent should have been Usyk.

It will be extremely unfair on Parker if he is deprived of a title fight against Usyk. He has worked very hard and waited for the chance. First it Dubois that pulled out of the IBF title fight and now it seems to be Usyk. If he fought against Usyk all of the titles would be on the line and I think Parker earned the right.

I hope Usyk manages to sign some sort of contract with Parker before the WBO take action and strip him of the title. His dance video raises questions about his injury claims therefore the WBO has asked for medical proof to confirm whether Usyk is in injured or not and that has tainted his legacy.

If Parker does fight Wardley or another opponent, it is because he is determined to continue boxing until he gets a title fight. Full credit to Parker for chasing the Usyk fight. As for Usyk, what is he doing?

Parker need to train more as the defendiong champion is not ordinary as Tyson Fury did not make it. He should get his defense on!

You are making assumptions that the fight will happen soon but all indications point to Usyk not fighting again in 2025. For Usyk to beat Parker, they need to meet in the ring. Only Parker is trying to make the fight happen whereas Usyk is avoiding it. While Usyk is out dancing on stage while claiming to be injured, it is Parker that is training for the fight in the hope it will happen.

Not gonna lie, Usyk’s PR team taking an L here – dancing while claiming a wrist injury is asking for memes. But let’s keep it real - the guy’s been fighting top dogs back-to-back, he’s earned a breather. Usyk doesn’t fear anyone at heavyweight - man outboxed AJ twice and schooled Fury. He’s one of the few guys who actually plays it straight in this sport, unlike a certain Gypsy King we all know...

That said, a WBO mando is a mando, sooner or later he’s gotta either sign the contract or cough up the belt. Parker’s been looking sharp lately, earned his shot, and that fight would be a proper scrap.

doesn't matter whether Parker needs to train more or not. What's important here is for Usyk to act like a champion and fight Parker instead of dancing while claiming he has an injury. Parker has been robbed of fighting Usyk before, and now Usyk is stalling his fight with Parker and with all the things that are going on, Parker might not even be able to fight Usyk at all because Usyk might get stripped of his title belt or Parker loses to Wardley.

This is extremely bad PR on part of Usyk and his team. I think based on the video, the WBO will strip Usyk of the title and the comments made by Warren about Usyk not fighting again this year are probably true. Maybe Usyk wants to lose the WBO belt in the hope of fighting the holder in 2026 for yet one more unification heavyweight. Other than that it makes no sense at all for him to avoid Parker.

I think usyk has been undefeated or a good player for years now and if I'm to make a choice on who's to win I'll pick him but likes of parker I don't really know much or let's say I'm not too sure about him. I would have opted ij for a draw between the both parties but it's rather clear to me that Usyk will do a great deal in defeating parker this time around.

If I am not mistaken it's not final yet right as Usyk requested an extension to WBO due to his injury, well if the match will happen. This will be a tough match, with Parker being on a win streak and faced good boxers will face Usyk. With Usyk's foot work mastery and ring IQ he has an advantage against Parker, this match will adds to his legacy as undisputed if he win and for Parker it's an opportunity for him to belong to the legendary status and has the opportunity only few challengers can get, especially it is against Usyk.

So why is Usyk wants to avoid the match? Or maybe he wants the date to be shifted further so that he can be well prepared. He should fight so that the title will not be taken from him. If he thinks that he should retain the title he should fight. I also think that Usyk would win but his coward approach is making me to be having another thought.
