Well let me inform you that majority or large number of people have lost huge amount of money and have learnt their lessons in a hard way, and that's why you see them talking about the risk in shitcoin investment. There is never a time it was stated that people can't try out risking alt/shitcoin but it is always said that you should gamble with what you can afford to lose as not to lose all your money. Although it is possible for your friend to make big profite from altcoin, but it doesn't happen always. It could just be that it was a new tokens that was fast rising as a result of it massive demand by buyers, and on the process your friend sold off before it falls. I believe your friend sold at the right time, maybe if he had waited more longer the team behind the project would have liquidated it and it dump so badly that everyone would be left into rug pull. So you need to be careful with your shitcoin because it can be tricky and at thesame time Risky.Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. The important thing's to be vigilant so you know when you can pull out because some people from what I've seen and read often get carried away and forget that these coins do not hold as much assurance of lasting as Bitcoin has done and may want to keep putting in money then before you know it, they'd lose all because of a crash.
Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. Post by: retaur on November 10, 2025, 03:30:52 PM Investments come with risks. Especially when they're not diversified within a global or national developed economy. That's always going to be a fact.
Whoever takes the most risk stands to gain the most but also lose the most. A lot of money funnels into projects and when a project starts gaining traction, its competitors start doing the same. There are a lot of defi perps platforms now and there was just dydx for a long time - there's now probably too many. But most of those are worth different amounts because they've vastly different features, security and governance. The same goes for any altcoin, once one starts doing something innovative it either fails or many others start to follow suit. The top 40 or so change quite a bit though - enough that if you find a coin that looks a bit undervalued, you might be able to make a few x on it. But nothing's guaranteed. We all know almost all casinos have house edge and theoretically in the long run, the casino will be in profit. No one is forcing anyone to or not to invest in whatever he dims for to invest in, at the end of the day, it's your choice and the resources you're going to put into that asset is yours. The only thing we are saying is that investing in an altcoin is more risky and that it can get a person all wrecked as long as the person is investing into it with a short term plan.Just like gambling, there are people that get lucky in it and at the same time, there are multitude of others that aren't too lucky at it and lose in the process. But even at that, it's hard to convince them to stop because of the thought that they also can be lucky. At the end, it's about talking a step you're ready to face the consequences or outcome. Yes, investing in an alt coin is really risky and can ruin anyone because we know that it is less stable and less liquid than BTC. To be honest, when Bitcoin was at its all-time high of 126k, you might have noticed that alt coins were lagging behind, so many people were hesitating whether to buy alt coins now or later. You are right that it is important to use discretionary income before buying Bitcoin but, if one is a risk taker, perhaps using some of the liftover from this discretionary income, one could try other currencies or even altcoins. However, if you do not want to play with the earned funds, it is better to stick with Bitcoin investments, a move that can be expected to yield returns if held for the long term and this step may be risk-tolerant for those interested.Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. The risk you are talking about should be from personal mishandle of wallet, either allowing yourself being prone to attacks that will make you lose your funds, aside that what other risks compared to altcoins that are completely centralized and controlled.Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. Post by: Mrbluntzy on November 10, 2025, 07:50:38 PM A Bitcoin maximalist could say that altcoins are shitcoins and they are not interested to buy altcoins, that's their decision and they have reasons for calling it bad, you are not wisers than them who has started quite on time to accumulate more Bitcoin for themselves but when you think altcoins is good for you and if you have also gained profit from the pump and price manipulation of altcoins, you could be smart in your own way, but on a long run you will understand my most people call altcoins bad investment. When buying altcoins it's because of making profits from the pump but what if it dumps? You will be in a big unrecoverable lose, so be smart and risk what you can afford to lose.
Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. Post by: JoyMarsha on November 10, 2025, 07:59:47 PM Altcoin investment is all about positioning, knowing when to buy and when to dump. Many investors do miss that when they invest in altcoins. And those who know when to enter and get out of the market are the ones who make a fortune out of their altcoin investment.
That person you know who made a huge amount from an altcoin investment. Ask him or her how they achieve that? You will find out that they invested in different coins at their early stage, when their price was low and they got to dump it when some of their hodl altcoins were at a high price. They didn't continue to hodl them for more gains. Many investors in the crypto have miss their chances of being made in life from altcoin investment. Some will be made in life in this upcoming altcoin season, if it comes. Some will miss it because they are looking for huge gains from their invested altcoins Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. I'm not saying all altcoins are bad but many of them are bad therefore it becomes difficult for you to choose which one is the best one to invest into. For the people that claim they know the next altcoins to invest in, they're lying because they don't know anything and if they had known, they won't come and be exposing their secrets to wealth. They're just guessing like everyone and sometimes they become lucky. Altcoins are risker while Bitcoin isn't and you won't lose if you choose Bitcoin. Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. Post by: Renampun on November 10, 2025, 10:11:42 PM It's up to each person to decide where they want to invest their money, whether in altcoins, meme coins, or Bitcoin, but after seeing so many people lose their money in altcoins and countless projects turn into scams or simply disappear, we should be much more cautious in choosing which coins to invest in. choosing an altcoin is the same as accepting a much higher risk because your money can be lost at any time, since most altcoins are centralized and often launched solely as scams.
so, again, do you want to take that risk by putting your money in altcoins or sticking with the safer Bitcoin it's entirely your decision. Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. Risks must be taken in investing. If someone tries to make money without taking risks, it is never possible. In this regard caution should be exercised when investing in altcoins. We generally know that many of those who invested in altcoins in mid-2021 or before have benefited a lot, but if we consider that situation at the present time, it will never be reasonable. Decisions should be taken considering both time and situation. If you take the risk of investing without choosing a reliable platform at the present time, then there will be a high chance of losing that money. But if you know you usually don't like playing around with your funds then stick to Bitcoin because is more safe. Bitcoin is unstable, but by investing money and holding it for the long term, we can hope for success in the future, but Alt coins have no such hope. It is very wise to invest our hard-earned money in Bitcoin instead of investing in Alt coins.
Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. Post by: BitMaxz on November 10, 2025, 11:51:38 PM If you know which altcoin to take a risk on, I agree, but if you randomly invest in an altcoin that doesn't have an active community and development, then you waste your investment in an altcoin that has a low chance to make you a huge profit.
Bitcoin is safe as an investment if you can handle your emotion and have a long-term plan; it won't make you profit if you are also one of the people who do panic selling. Also, take note of shitcoins out there; like others said, don't invest what you can't afford to lose because some of them are created for pump and dump. Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. Post by: laijsica on November 11, 2025, 02:27:20 AM Those who have made huge profits from altcoins were lucky or if you review their history you will see that there are more experienced investors among them. I only follow those investors who are doing Bitcoin without any problems. And most of the alts are not suitable for long term investment and are risky. It would be the right decision to invest in Bitcoin for the long term instead of following those lucky ones.
I think buying altcoins is not a wrong decision but to go to that stage of investment you should follow the right investment process like practicing and gaining experience in long term investment. Alot of people have made good money from altcoins so they will not be very inclined to agree with you and they won't be wrong because while you haven't seen any benefits in altcoins they have and they liked it, it's the same way gambling works, most have lost too much to it but a select few have been able to make food money from it and to them there is absolutely nothing wrong with gambling, those who have benefited massively from trading altcoins share this perspective too and they won't stop until sometime bigger convinces then to do so, like a massive liquidation event.Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. Post by: mrust_mobile on November 11, 2025, 04:50:23 AM Some people made huge money from alts but some also lost theirs irreversibly. We tend to see the good examples and ignore the bad ones usually. If you want to invest in alts go invest in them but never fully. Never go full retard.
Always have a btc ballast in your portfolio because alts can go to zero, btc will never go to zero. It might lose its market cap by 80% but it will recover as it always has been. Look at litecoin for example and litecoin is one of the good ones. A decade ago it was $50 and it is barely above $100 nowadays. Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. Post by: maydna on November 11, 2025, 11:38:08 AM That is your decision and no one can prohibit you. If you can search for the coins, you have a chance to increase your capital by making a profit. But if you think that is difficult, you'd better not play with altcoin and leave that while you can choose Bitcoin as your main investment.
Temptation to make more profit from altcoin will be there, making people want to try it. Most people don't understand that they must have skills to search for the coins. If that is the case, it is better that they stick to Bitcoin without putting altcoins as their investment. Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. But the question is how many altcoins can give the profit from hundreds or thousand percent to the holders because if we speaking about the percentages probably less than 1% we can found the altcoins which have potention just like i said above and do not forget too sometimes luck is necessary because to gets huge profit from altcoin we should have luck too Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. What happens is an addiction to finding and investing in new coins. You know the risks. You are unlikely to find a new coin that will give you a profit. It is true, not all new coins are bad. But I will also advice that if you are investing in altcoin you should be very careful because a lot of those coins are scam, they are usually sometimes created by some set of people and when they announce it and people start investing in it and the coin start growing those that created it immediately sell off their coin and then make huge amount of profit and those who invested lost because immediately they sold their large amount of that coin the value drops. Yes, I've heard comments from users on this forum who claimed that trading with $25 capital could turn into $1000 in altcoins. This can happen if the timing is right, and you're right. Usually, memes with high-rise qualifications are hit hard and fall back down within seconds. I paused for a moment, and when the price rose, a sell-off was immediately initiated, either by the owner or even by buyers when the price was low. There's no conscience here, it's a concept of "eat or be eaten" when trading memes. Even if the price drops, it's very difficult to return to its original value, leaving only regret. So those who invest in Bitcoin are basically ideal investors and they are able to hold Bitcoin for a long time. However, another strategy to keep Bitcoin away for a long time is the DCA method, those who follow the DCA method and invest in Bitcoin are able to maintain their Bitcoin investment for a long time.
They deposit some amount of money regularly every week or month, and after depositing in Bitcoin for a few years and following the DCA method regularly, their Bitcoin investment continues to grow. In this way, it is possible to maintain Bitcoin investment for a long time. Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. Most of them were experienced and did a lot of research about the market but even after that they took risks and very few succeeded but most of them lost money through trading like gambling. While trading seems easy from a distance, it is actually a very complex strategy and making money from this platform is risky like taking risks in gambling. Post by: Promocodeudo on November 11, 2025, 03:38:10 PM I agree with you, anyone who is willing to invest in Altcoin can go on and do that as long as he has the mind of doing that and he's using only his discretionary income to do that, even investing in Bitcoin is risky, bitcoin investment is not 100% out of risk especially if you are a bitcoin trader. We can't stop anyone to invest in any crypto project of any kind after all is there decision and money that's involved, but we won't stop telling them the truth about how untrusted and shady some of those projects are.But I will also advice that if you are investing in altcoin you should be very careful because a lot of those coins are scam, they are usually sometimes created by some set of people and when they announce it and people start investing in it and the coin start growing those that created it immediately sell off their coin and then make huge amount of profit and those who invested lost because immediately they sold their large amount of that coin the value drops. I wanted to say something where you said Bitcoin is not free from risk but when I stumbled on your instances on traders then I understand that, traders are the reason what you made that statement but I have a question for you to that effect, let's put traders aside, can you compare Bitcoin and altcoin in terms of risk? The last time I checked, Bitcoin out out performed any shitty thing out there and with the continued dominance it has over those shits, we can bit our chest to say Bitcoin has done well. The risk in Bitcoin to some people is the volatility and in really sense thats not risk, it is just the concept and functionality of the system that triggers that and we can't help it, so to me I don't think there's any other risk we can point out in Bitcoin or is there any? In conclusion, everyone have the right to make there choice but it won't be wise for an investor to invest in something thats not worth risking for irrespective of the amount involved because money is money no matter small is it but anything risk is been left for the risk take to decide whether what he's risking for is worth it, this sincere opinion. Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. Post by: Kelward on November 11, 2025, 04:27:57 PM What I can say is that buying altcoins are gambling your funds, except for a few top altcoins that have some potentials most of them are scams, if you're not lucky enough to exit at a perfect timing with what you can grab your funds will become worthless. I see most new crypto projects in the market as get rich quick schemes, they are no different from Ponzi schemes which if you you're not lucky to exit before it crashes you lose everything. You can always gamble on shitcoins with amount that you can afford to loose because they are very volatile and can be dead at anytime. Bitcoin is different it has proven many times that it will always recover after dip, if you want a long term asset to hold for profit look no further than Bitcoin.
Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. Post by: Sammye3 on November 11, 2025, 04:34:27 PM The best advice for newbies to trading should be avoiding trading on altcoins and gain the basic knowledge before investing.
Study the risk, analyse the charts and minimize the losses, building the mentality that the market is not all a bed of roses and it could all go wrong on a bad day. Yes, it is true that people have made millions or more from altcoins but that should not rule out the risk involved in altcoins investment as they could be very volatile and the losses on the long run could outplay the profits. Altcoins is not for the weak so it's best to invest in a trusted asset that is less volatile and it's movement is not influenced by external bodies or centralized entities. That is BITCOIN... Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. Post by: Fuso.hp on November 11, 2025, 04:56:44 PM In my real experience, I have seen many people who have invested in altcoins but have not been successful so far. They were inspired by the increase in the value of those coins that did not have much value in the market but suddenly the value of those coins increased by thousands of times and then the investors I know thought that if they had invested in these coins earlier, they would have owned a lot of money now and this money could have changed their lives. In this hope, they only invested in those coins whose value was after a few zeros but so far they have not seen success. $ 5 or $ 10 can be wasted on these, but you should never give your entire investment focus to these coins. If you have to invest, you should invest in Bitcoin consistently, thinking about the safety of your money. Investing in coins other than Bitcoin means a lot of gambling.
Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. Post by: KeenanEl19 on November 11, 2025, 04:57:22 PM I think that investing in Altcoins is comparatively risky, it is reasonable to invest in Bitcoin consistently. However, it is very important to use discretionary earning for our Bitcoin purchase, because Bitcoin long-term investment system, the risk of losing money by investing in the short term can increase many times. With a long-term plan, you need to buy Bitcoin in small amounts consistently and by holding it for the future, you can avoid inflation and expect profits in the long term. I think that when it comes to risk, everything has its own risks, but the difference is that some are high risk and some are low risk, such as what you mentioned with long-term investments or short-term investments, and it's up to us to choose which one. I myself do what you mentioned, and there are other risks outside of that, such as sometimes I can't afford it because my income is just enough, but before that I try to stay consistent in doing it.Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. Altcoins were profitable back than but now altcoins have turned out to be a riskier investment. People who made money from altcoins years back are the ones who would recommend new investors to think about altcoins as an investment opportunity instead of a trading opportunity. Most people do that and he only realized that altcoin was not worth investing in after a long time of holding, the motivation is the same as what you know, in the end it will end up the same, altcoin is traded not invested, so if you understand this you will know that your friends may also be like that. But to be honest, things have changed and the markets do not favour altcoins anymore. Long term investments in altcoins will not really be reliable and this is been told by a lot of seasoned traders because it comes from their experiences. OP, you should try to learn from other's mistakes and instead of taking a chance, why not invest your money someplace else where it can be much safer. Bitcoins can always be one of those. Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. Post by: doomloop on November 11, 2025, 08:55:25 PM The risk to reward ratio should be balanced. If you feel the ratio is balanced than yes you can go for altcoin investments which might have a bit risk. But if the rewards are not really that great than there is no point in going for altcoins. Now, with altcoins you will only see higher profit potential in riskier coins which can dump harder which will make your investment worthless. Once in a while, yes you can see really good profits coming out but have you considered how often is it?
In most cases, you will loose and we are sure about it that's the reason why not everyone recommends to go for altcoins. If you are capable of taking risk than sure you can go for altcoins and who knows maybe you might even make good profits out of one or two investments. Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. Post by: GeorgeJohn on November 11, 2025, 09:23:22 PM Investing in Bitcoin is also risky. Just pick your poison and pray you have the stomach to withstand it. Altcoin investment can be tricky as they don't have as much reliability as Bitcoin does but that doesn't mean that one can't make money from it. The important thing's to be vigilant so you know when you can pull out because some people from what I've seen and read often get carried away and forget that these coins do not hold as much assurance of lasting as Bitcoin has done and may want to keep putting in money then before you know it, they'd lose all because of a crash. between bitcoin and altcoin investment, bitcoin is more better to invest than altcoins, because some of the altcoins lacks potential, and there's every tendency that some of the altcoin’s may give off to survive during long-term holding Whereas Bitcoin only decreases and later bounced to the normal, and volatility of Bitcoin can't be used to compare with some of the altcoin that backs potential, During altcoins investment you have to make a proper research before investing because some of the coins that are sub coins to Bitcoin does not have the potential to survive in long term so that is why many people lost out during the Investment of altcoins, for me we are supposed to understand a coin before we invest and also know the sponsors before we invest, due to lacks of risks in altcoins. Whenever you hear the phrase “invest only what you can afford to lose” in Bitcoin investment actually means that you should only risk what you can afford to lose. Going by that term, it also means that even if Bitcoin is safer to invest into than other altcoins, it is still worth noting that we should only go by what we can afford since the condition and outcome of the market is still not certain. Bitcoin investment has been proven several times to be the safe haven to invest into in order to avoid loss of assets, but other cryptocurrencies have not really gotten that acceptance from people even though some of them have also shown to be a reliable course to invest on. Crypto investment is all risky and they depend on which coin you’re investing into to control your risk appetite. Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. We don't prohibit friends who want to invest in altcoins. But we always remind them not to invest in a coin that is not clear on the projects. If the token or coin has value at the time, selling it immediately without further consideration is the best course of action. It looks like a chance, but when BTC corrects again like it is now, even the currently hyped coins like Zcash can't withstand a BTC correction, let alone smaller coins that don't necessarily have strong fundamentals. Large donor backup is essential if you really want to buy altcoins. If the average ones are not likely to swing down, it's very difficult for them to recover and follow BTC's movements. Market conditions remain fraught with fear. I think we can observe stock movement patterns over 1-hour, 4-hour, or at least 5-minute time frames. If it's fast and crowded with buyers, it could be a good indicator, but if buying demand is slow and delayed, it's best to avoid it, as we'll have to wait another month for recovery. Currently, some traders and investors still see the potential for further declines, which is a bad sign for the market. The strength of accumulation is likely to be limited before it can reach a new record. Maybe this is a good idea, but it must also be supported by established coins, if the goal is to take risks in investing, I think it's okay, but you must also consider the amount of money you can afford to lose. If you invest in bitcoin, you will feel safer because it is the safest investment in the crypto market. But it doesn't guarantee you wealth, whether you become rich or not is entirely up to you, bitcoin doesn't decide that for you. Bitcoin is just a tool, opportunity and success or failure depend on your plan, strategy and capital. You won’t be able to get rich if you only invest $1k or $2k these days, even if you hold it for the next 20 years. Since the exponential growth phase of Bitcoin is over, it can no longer grow x100-x1000 like before. Or you can't expect to get rich in just 1 or 2 years of investing in bitcoin. There is no investment that does not contain risk, what you must remember is that investment is not a way or scheme to get rich quick. If you try to move around like that From Bitcoin get a little profit then you switch to the altcoin you are interested in. In fact, if you don't have enough knowledge, this will make you trapped in your investment, which will make you lose focus on your investment goals. Post by: Asuspawer09 on November 13, 2025, 05:31:29 PM I mean investing in altcoins and meme tokens are surely going to earn you a huge amount of money, compared to just staying safe in Bitcoin, but maybe he was just kinda lucky on he's altcoin investment, We all know it, it was a riskier investment than staying on Bitcoin, that just mean that it has higher chance of losing that money, so yeah if he was lucky then its great but its a double edge sword, its easy to say that its and easy profit but if you lose on that bet, then suddenly your gonna say its a huge scam in the history. You need to understand that a lot of people are going to lose a lot of money on riskier token and there are a lot of pump and dump project out there, especiallyon meme tokens on solana network which is really popular, I see a lot of people getting there investment more than 10x but at the same time I know meme tokens is just Player vs player there are a lot of people losing money there.
Also another thing is, this wasnt a great mindset to have, its similar to have a gambling or betting mindset since you are always taking on a huge risk, for me you need to always have the foundation first and know its risk, it wasnt a bad thing to invest on this risky investment but you need to know your limits and diversifying your investment, if you know you could easily lose money on it, then you oculd just set a small amount and win or lose your not going to get a huge lose anyway, if it win then its a good thing, if it lose then you could easily get back up. I totally agree with you that most of the time people who buy altcoins regret buying them. To be honest, I bought a few coins at the top stage in the market but only a few times I managed to sell them at a profit. Most of the time I sold them at a limited loss or withdrew my investment at a very low profit due to fear of losing my capital. My goal was short-term trading but it was very stressful mentally. Those who regret it will say that crypto is a scam. But you are right that anyone who wants to take action with altcoins has the right to do so because each person bears their own risk. You may choose to buy coins that don't have a community or foundation that allows them to have potential if held. Examples include Ethereum and BNB. It's understandable if you regret buying coins other than these two because of their high prices. Short-term trading also requires a strategic approach when selecting coins to trade. If a coin has good potential, buy it, take the profit—even if it's small—and move on. Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. The most practical approach is the one you mentioned first focus on building Bitcoin holdings since it’s the most proven asset in the crypto world then if you have extra discretionary income use a small portion of it to experiment with altcoins this gives you the chance to explore without risking your financial security. Doing proper research is also key study the whitepaper the team behind the project the technology it offers and how active the community is if any of these are missing or look suspicious that’s already a red flag also never let greed push you into investing more than you can afford to lose because the higher the promise of return the greater the risk involved. This is both strange and very real, because I still encounter such people around me, so I don't really care for them because they basically have no convictions about their actions. New altcoins aren't meant to be invested in, but rather to be used for short-term gains during good times. Post by: Godday on November 15, 2025, 03:20:49 PM If you often interact with people in the crypto space, what you're saying isn't unfamiliar to me because I've heard them complain several times about being harmed by their own actions. Strangely, they are overly confident in their choices, and some even dare to tell their friends that their altcoin choices will be profitable for them. My question is simple: why do those familiar with the crypto space choose to take risks with new altcoins? They’re not investing small amounts either. How would you respond to something like this? Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. Post by: Adams0001 on November 15, 2025, 03:51:55 PM If you can't take risks, your chances of getting rich are very low. There is risk in almost every financial endeavor. There are some who take risks within their means and there are some who take too many risks. I think luck is with those who take risks. There are some people who took too many risks and that is why they are in a much stronger in financial position today. Having the attitude of taking risks is an important thing to change your destiny. Risk is always most for everyone that really want huge money, and he want to be rich because taking risk can make you become rich and change your life easily but you should always think of type of risk you takes, because not all risk can make you rich but make you lose all your funds. Investing in altcoins is not bad if you trust it and think you will be profitable is good to invest and you can probably be profitable when the coins pump. People that are saying to others to invest in bitcoin is because bitcoin gave more value and trust them other coins, and you can't just lose all your funds when you invest in bitcoin but if you invest in altcoins can make you lose all your money because the coins can drop and won't raise anymore. So you just need to be thinking wisely before making your own decision. Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. Post by: M47AK16 on November 15, 2025, 08:59:58 PM you said some investors jump into buying those shit coins without reviewing their history. This is because of the hype of those short sighted investors. The expectation of quick profits can make you greedy and you can get trapped in the hype of those shit coins. That is why many also promote it that if you cannot take risks you cannot get rich. You are tempted to buy those coins and they disappear from the market in a very short time. Unfortunately that is way too common in the crypto world and causes a lot of people to lose a lot of money. I am pretty sure that we are going to see things change with time, but for that reason we should not be looking into this like it's some sort of important thing to handle. It's their mistake and if they want to make mistake then let them, not our problem. In my opinion if you do not want to take risks then invest in Bitcoin for the long term. I used to care about it, and tried to help people out and make sure they do not invest into shitcoins, but I have seen some of them kept on insisting how it could be making money for them and how there are examples of shitcoins making people money, so I gave up trying to help them and just let them learn their lesson by making those mistakes so they avoid repeating. Most of the alts in the market are very risky and if you fall into a risky situation by buying them, it is even more risky. There is risk in investing in Bitcoin and this also does not guarantee you will make a profit. Long term Bitcoin investment can take you to a positive financial level that you cannot even imagine in any other investment. It is true that most altcoins are very risky and are equivalent to gambling. Bitcoin is more stable now it won’t give you the same 10x returns like in the early days but it also won’t crash as easily it’s like the foundation of the market a safer long term bet while altcoins are for people willing to take bigger chances for bigger rewards. The rule stays the same high risk high return low risk low return so if you want to play with altcoins make sure you’re prepared for both outcomes hope for the win but be ready for the loss the best approach is balance hold Bitcoin for stability and use only what you can afford to lose for altcoins that way you stay in the game without getting burned. Go on Wallstreetbets and you wont find people buying the Dow 30 index. Instead they are all buying 0DTE which are 0 day to expiry options on the SP500. Basically an option that expires in mere hours and it loses probably 5% value of itself every 30 minutes. Why do people buy it when most expire worthless? However, you should not invest in the greed of money because it is much more reasonable to keep money safe than to lose all your money. Currently, Bitcoin is the most popular and trusted where the possibility of losing your money is very low, and there is a possibility of getting benefits. Bitcoin plays the biggest role in keeping money safe and keeping money safe. Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. This is the typical shenanigans on shitcoin since the team knew that crypto people are degen when it comes to profit opportunities. They offer a lot of incentives such as airdrops, marketing bonus and so on to promote the token while rewarding huge token allocation for these marketing which is the common cause for the dump on the price after retail buying on the hype due to the marketing strength. I hate buying shitcoin because I knew that it’s always a race on buying low and selling high in able to get profit. It’s still better to buy and hold Bitcoin that has organic growth. Shitcoins are never a good source of investment but some altcoins might have potential. Even after their marketing hype, they are able to survive once they hit the exchanges because they offered reasonable profits for the airdrop holders or for their marketing team. If I see any altcoin offering hundreds of dollars just for participating in their airdrop, I am certain that coin will not do good once exchanges are hit because all the bounty hunters will be busy selling their share of tokens and this will just dump the markets.I hate buying shitcoin because I knew that it’s always a race on buying low and selling high in able to get profit. It’s still better to buy and hold Bitcoin that has organic growth. But there are a few coins who offer lock up periods for the bounty tokens and those projects can be worth giving it a shot. They will at least not dump immediately after hitting the exchanges giving us some room to book profits. Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. If someone wants to diversify it should be done carefully with strict limits maybe a small percentage of total capital in altcoins purely for trading or experimentation and the rest in bitcoin where historical data and adoption trends show actual resilience bitcoin’s dominance has only grown through every cycle proving that the market still trusts it more than any other crypto when hype ends fundamentals are what remain and bitcoin is the only asset in this space with fundamentals strong enough to survive every storm. Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. Post by: macson on November 17, 2025, 10:15:05 AM Investing in altcoins is not recommended for people who do not understand the high risks and volatility of the crypto market. Altcoins are not the same as Bitcoin, it is much riskier if a person does not understand what they are investing in. Many altcoins have ended in scams and caused losses to many people, by looking at this, people should be able to understand that investing in altcoins is actually high risk, but unfortunately many beginners ignore this and are actually more interested in investing their money in altcoins with the thought that they can make big profits in a short time, but they actually ended up with a serious loss.
Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. Post by: Out of mind on November 17, 2025, 10:32:01 AM Altcoins are risky, there is a high chance of losing money, very few people can make good profits from here, I will say this only because of their luck. Those who are very lucky can often make money that changes their lives in a short time by trading. Altcoins are best for those who are ready to take big risks and when faced with losses, their emotions do not work, but they can control themselves. If you want to make a risk-free investment, you must come to Bitcoin because it is always safe for your money, you will not lose your money. I think if you are investing for the long term, then you should definitely do it in Bitcoin, it is reliable and low risk, and it is possible to achieve something good from it in the future. Bitcoin is the future asset, in that case, investing in it is risk-free, but Altcoins always have risks.

Altcoin may be full of scam or shitcoin as some may claimed but some are also repeaping positive results of their risk on the investment made on those shitcoin and altcoin. Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. Post by: Emjay24 on November 17, 2025, 03:23:25 PM I agree with you, anyone who is willing to invest in Altcoin can go on and do that as long as he has the mind of doing that and he's using only his discretionary income to do that, even investing in Bitcoin is risky, bitcoin investment is not 100% out of risk especially if you are a bitcoin trader. A Bitcoin trader is different from a Bitcoin investor. The trader buys Bitcoin in response to market movements and sells it back when he gets desired profits or even at a loss if the market moves against his predictions but a Bitcoin investor just buys and holds and most of them has ended up profitable going long-term in it. Bitcoin investing has it's risks quite alright but not in the context of trading since trading success is dependent on making the best predictions with respect to your entry point. While Bitcoin investing success is based on its adoption and it's growth potential.Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. Post by: dezoel on November 17, 2025, 04:01:50 PM It does not always mean that even our investments in bitcoins are safe. Even bitcoins are a volatile asset and can cause extreme loss if not treated carefully. I presume all investors to be risk takers because there is literally no profits without taking risk. It depends on the amount of risk we are willing to take. There is futures where the risk is extremely high but so is the profits. For less riskier investments, we have spot markets where profits are too low but the risk as well is negligible.
Altcoins does come with higher risk but there are certain altcoins like ETH which perform similar to bitcoins and to be honest, risk with ETH is much lower as compared to bitcoins because of the price point. In fact, it will only happen rarely for altcoins because there are a lot of scams and rug pulls going on with a lot of altcoins in the market. So, when you decide to invest in altcoins, you will need thorough research and some extra digging about the people behind the project to avoid total devastation. I don't hold people back from investing in altcoins, but if they ask me about investments, I won't mention altcoins first either. Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. Post by: Issa56 on November 17, 2025, 07:53:41 PM I have seen someone who invested in Altcoin that was new and made money from that investment huge amount of money that has changed his life forever, if you don't like taking risk is up to you but allow people that love it to continue doing it, Haven’t you seen someone that invested all what they have in a new altcoin, and at the end they ended up losing everything, and some of them committed suicide, and some will have to start afresh? The same wey you have seen someone make huge amount, thats how people are losing huge amount also, but if you do your analysis properly, then you will see that higher percentage of people investing in new altcoin do lose, just little percent do make money. So if you are taking risk, then you should always know the kind of risk which you will take, don’t take a risk which will end up affecting you. But if you know you usually don't like playing around with your funds then stick to Bitcoin because is more safe. If anyone wants to invest in all this new altcoins, then it should be a little amount of money, any amount which you know that even if you lose, it’s not going to affect you in any way. it’s so risky investing huge amount of money in all this new altcoins. If you are having huge amount of money to invest, then it’s better you just invest in bitcoin. Title: Re: Risk takers can continue. Post by: Nheer on November 17, 2025, 10:45:20 PM The greater the risk, the greater the reward. That's true, but in what context? That's the question. Maybe in business I would agree, but when it comes to choosing coins, I don't agree. I've been in the crypto space for a long time and I'm tired of obscure altcoins. It's not about you it's about them. It's not about you agreeing or not it's about what they prefer and having a reason to believe it's their way to make the most of the crypto space. I am not saying they are doing the right though. For newcomers, it might make sense to them that they can make a lot of money in a short time or get rich quickly by taking risks on the coins being discussed. That's just garbage framing, and their complaints when they lose money are also garbage. Go back to what's right, which is Bitcoin, not to trade, but to hold. Investing in new coins with uncertain future is really risky both for enthusiasts and newcomers. I don't think it's safer for newcomers to invest in new coins, it's more risky and easier to lose their money if it doesn't work out well so It's a terrible place for beginners to start. The only thing is that it's cheaper to acquire and they can accumulate as many as they want but I advise newcomers to start with a more reputable coin instead just as you have mentioned. Bitcoin is the most reliable coin and the best place for Beginners to start because it's level of risk is minimal compared to others. |
