Mining

Mining a cryptocurrency can be a complicated process at first, but after you get everything configured then it pretty much runs itself.

We’ll start with instructions for mining with your CPU, because every computer has one. GlobalBoost® is different from most coins because we developed use of a new mining algorithms; Yescrypt, and it’s one of the few ways to mine that can actually be worthwhile using a CPU instead of a GPU or ASIC.

To CPU-mine GlobalBoost® using Yescrypt, just download this mining software:

GlobalBoost® CPU Miner

(as with wallet downloads, Chrome may tell you that this file isn’t safe.  Download it with Internet Explorer and amazingly it becomes safe.  If you need a free program to unzip this download, use 7-zip.)

Once you download the miner and unzip it, just open the folder and find the file called “BSTYMiner.bat” –

Right-click that file and select “edit”.  It will open a text viewer and you will see this:

minerd.exe -a yescrypt -o stratum+tcp://p2pool.e-pool.net:8961 -u XzeZv3aPmAPTTSTAwniQwkrZhKp9yD8qt1 -p password

The only thing you need to change is the receiving address, “XzeZv3aPmAPTTSTAwniQwkrZhKp9yD8qt1”.  Replace that with your own receiving address from your wallet, then Save the file.

Then double-click BSTYMiner.bat, and you’re mining!

You can scroll down ePool to see your wallet address. If it’s slowing down your computer too much, or your computer’s fan sounds like it’s working too hard, you can adjust how many threads it runs at one time – watch the lines go by on your command prompt while it’s mining;  if your computer has 4 cores, it will be running thread 0, thread 1, thread 2, and thread 3.  Shut down your miner by closing the window, and go back to your BSTYMiner.bat file, and add a little -t 3 like this:

minerd.exe -a yescrypt -t 3 -o stratum+tcp://p2pool.e-pool.net:8961 -u XzeZv3aPmAPTTSTAwniQwkrZhKp9yD8qt1 -p password

Now it will only run 3 threads, and it won’t work your computer as hard.  You can also change it to -t 2 or -t 1, or more than that if your computer has 6 or 8 cores.

I was compiling the wallet to add to our pool ( http://mmostories.com ) but it seems that the latest genesis block update broke it. The assetion for block.hashMerkleRoot in main.cpp seems to be looking for an old genesis block.

Let me know when it's fixed and the wallet is final and we will compile and launch.

The person that inspired this coin is a vet.. The retired Major served 2 1/2 years in Vietnam and got shot up, but survived(more than he can say for a lot of his friends).. He was with "The Herd".. aka The United States Army 173rd Airborne Division.. He was a Ranger, like his Father was (who is now resting in Arlington Cemetery), and also part of the Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol teams.. or LLRPs. He was always known for going above and beyond to "Take care of the troops". He saw a way that he could continue to serve our young soldiers, and make a positive impact in the world.. Thank for downloading and installing the wallet! Sounds like you may have an old version of the wallet. We just opened and synced our Mac, and the Old Major's is also synced. You need to remove the old blocks at:  ~/Library/Application Support/Globalboost/

Hi,
I just noticed a port conflict between the  globalboost rpcport (8223) and the default Armory (bitcoin wallet) inter-processes port.
When I started the linux globalboost-qt wallet, I got a Port already in use error for port 8223.

Armory is a fairly popular secure btc wallet, so I don't know if it would be worth considering whether BST might want to change the default rpcport..
But I'm just going to point it out.. Probably a good one for the troubleshooting FAQ...

I did a little searching, and found this:

 --interport=NUMBER # Armory inter-process port (8223)

It seems pretty easy to change the port for Armory, at least for the tech-savvy...
I haven't tried it, I just shut my armory wallet down for the time being..

8223 is the default rpcport, but you can change this if you like by going to globalboost.conf file.
There you can add/change line to: rpcport=8000
or another port if you prefer

Thanks for all the support in these early days! We are adding more veterans to the platform every week, and our name recognition is growing fast. But he knows what it's like, and says that these guys are now pulling 4 & 5 tours.. with a new "Stop Loss" probably coming, soldiers that thought they were getting out are likely to be sent back overseas.. these guys need our help, and we're one of the few out here whose mission it is to help our Veterans! Once the guys come come back they are faced with many challenges, little to no benefits, not many jobs, ect..
We'll be able to start registrations for the social media platform by Monday (if not earlier) for $19.97 a month! After mining on suchpool.pw for awhile it turns out it works the best for my gridseed and zeus blizzard and finding blocks.

Premine 10%= 100 mil but dev not doing anything. No promote, no big exchange, no good plan. Him develop more another coin like BTSY.

Wrong info on first page. RPC port is by default 8225, not 8223.

Also, this coin have a bigger problem than anyting : you are referenced with two tag on exchanges : either BSTY (C-Cex) or BST (Comkort).
You should write a message to get this corrected because your coin is untrackable without that.

I believe bsty is a new coin from the bst developers, so they r not the same coin,

Testing the payment gateways yesterday went GREAT!!!
