Launching with no pools set up? Tsk tsk. Most every coin that has launched without pools already established have not been very successful. Good luck! I hope for the best for your coin. But as a CPU miner, no pool means no mining for me.

There are some pools working for us ATM. We wait until we have two pools at least then we launch!

Why is the difficulty on this coin so stupidly low?
Surely the coin is fundamentally broken yet no one seems to care about the fact its being insta-mined?

The block halving is set at 100k and yet we've mined through 8,000 blocks...thats 400,000 of the total 10 million coins...in 1 hour

Other pools got the same issue, Ive restarted the client 3 times. It seems like there are 1334920 forks out there. Anyway 15sec blocktime isnt helping either.

My pool had like 700mh/s at 0.00002 diff - @ 15sec blocktime and like 2015 blocks to retarget.. :(( - That cant work at all.

I pointed over 500mh/s at chekaz, got 20 coins. Im about ready to give up.

This is not a problem with the pool itself, it is a problem with nodes (we need more nodes, please), but we are working fine now and are continuously finding blocks.

I had a peak at my www.vlt.chekazpools.com at about 1gh/s that crushed my database with 10th blocks per second incoming .. :(

But now with a significant higher diff its fine :)

i knew that as old pool owner :)
nobody think u will get 1gh/s on the pool on new launch of coin..than u get 1gh/s and the mysql eats 100% cpu
the only thing that u can do is to configure/tune the mysql config..or u host the database on diffrent server/cluster but thats not rly cheap :)

Mining at current difficulty and selling at current price results in 0.003 BTC/Mhs/day profitability, which is relatively low. There are more profitable coins to mine and dump. Mining VLT can be justified only to hold for higher prices. And this is what am I doing.

Looks like VLT is not protected from large multipools. 20Ghs multipool will kill this coin without quick diff readjustment.

About the coin logo.. I'm just not sure about it, maybe its the lack of contrast or the spirally thing in the middle. I'll make a few more designs that I think would be better and you can tell me what you think. Might as well support the coin seeing as though I'm mining it and bought a lot of it!

Also I think that this coin should stand for something or have some slogan in order to get anywhere. For example Vertcoin is the scrypt Asic-resistant coin. Maybe our slogan could be the Asic-Friendly coin? If we promote the Asic-friendly-ness maybe it will become more popular among scrypt Asic users (users that will increase quickly soon) and so the net-hash rate will shoot up and along with it the price? Asic-Friendly coins aren't that common so it will set this coin apart from the rest I think. I'm just throwing out ideas here, I don't know if these are good ideas :P

I wanted to make my subreddit on /r/violetcoin but as soon as the dev mention bounty someone else made the subreddit /r/violetcoin. He hasn't done much with it either so I suspect he made it just for the bounty. I went ahead and made /r/vltcoin so we can have an actual subreddit. I've asked the mod on /r/violetcoin to make me a mod so I can make the subreddit nicer but so far no response...

The Problem was that my database got messed up early on with that 1gh/s spike on my pool. (I have to say that Iam new in that Poolbusiness, and didnt expect an 1gh/s spike on my pool.) Afterwards Ive got upstream block signing problems which I had to fix manually in the database which took me 1h~ afterwards every block was displayed & accounted corretly but the miners were gone :D

its only the vserver/root !not ddos!!....u can see ddos attacks in the log files...there was only high peaks on big hashrate from the db..i knew that a old pool owner..had this 2 a while ago...
the only thing u can do is upgrade ur root or configure a little ur my.conf . sql peaks are not cool for the server and the miners...website and all other works very slow

best way is sql and pool on different server or cluster

u are new ok u will see that pool op is not an easy job and is pure stress!!!miners had issues and u have to help them...cronjobs stucks u have to restart them.payout issues.coin daemon issues..stratum issues..and if u are not fast enough at launch u can nearly close ur pool.That the hard way of Pool op..but u cant be there 24/7..Alone pool owner costs u 5 years of ur life!

Probably not, It has almost no value on Bittrex and there is hardly anyone supporting it. It isn't unique or creative so there is no reason to support it. Developer has been completely useless so far. In my opinion he did a pretty bad job in launching and supporting the coin. Unfortunately this coin is dead for now.  :-[
