Title: [LAUNCHED][IRL] - Ireland Coin - 17.05.2014 - 17:00 GMT Post by: riddler_xyz on May 17, 2014, 06:09:27 PM Irishcoin irishcoin.confhttps://i.imgur.com/NizFnFa.png https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Bn2B_4eCMAELUEE.png What is IrishCoin? You may have heard much in the news of Bitcoin, a payment and completely digital money system. IrishCoin is a similar de-centralised digital currency, with a focus though predominantly for the Irish tourist sector. We are not striving to replace the Euro or create a new currency. We are instead using the same peer-to-peer crypto currency system as a vehicle to aid and promote the Irish tourism industry among the Irish diaspora in the US, Ireland, and globally. This uniquely sets IrishCoin out differently among the plethora of crypto currencies developing as alternatives to the money system you are used to. Distribution of IrishCoin IrishCoin will be directly through global organizations, companies and and ventures connected to the Irish tourism industry. IrishCoin distribution will start initially with take up from online Irish social networks like Liveireland.com with over 12,000 US and Irish members eligible to download digital wallets with IrishCoin. Negotiations are already in place with numerous other global Irish networks and we will be publishing more in the coming days. IrishCoin will also be distributed to businesses as a discount token on purchases where IrishCoin is accepted No AIR-DROP: There are many emerging new crypto currencies advising that they will evenly distribute their coin among the population of the country by allowing individual citizens to sign up for 'free coins' that will be evenly allocated to the population at large. This system is not workable in Ireland, as unlike countries such as Iceland, we do not have a publicly available database uniquely identifying each person for verification, so many individuals can claim coins under various identities and many of the population will be totally unaware of the distribution of this new technology, leading to an unfair, unjust and flawed distribution of coins. IrishCoin will not be doing any such 'air-drop'. IrishCoin will solely be working with organisations associated with the tourism, hospitality and pubs and entertainment sector, acting as a discount voucher, and a payment remittance. The uptake in the industry for this purpose will undoubtedly see the value of IrishCoin increase with uptake with time. We don't expect an overnight boom. Growth in tandem with the re-established tourism industry is our goal. We're already on exchanges since inception and no "dumps" We're using IRL as a discount token in tourism and related not so much for intrinsic value. The pre-mine wasn't that big and it's being distributed via Irish networks both on and off line. Also, you post on our launch day speaks volumes. We're still here and albeit slowly, we're going forward. Title: Re: [LAUNCHED][IRL] - Ireland Coin - 17.05.2014 - 17:00 GMT Post by: PaddyMac on January 05, 2015, 04:56:06 PM Linux Ubuntu 64-bit OS

I did ask @PaddyMac earlier in this topic, "are you part of the Irishcoin.org ?" i.e. is he part of the dev team, but no reply here at bitcointalk after two weeks :( I hope it's just a case of devs not being up to speed on the benefits of forums and other social media. Or they have more 'pressing' duties to perform... (if one of those two was my GF I'd be 'performing'... a lot 8) ) I will be very disappointed if it turns out to be a sophisticated pump and dump :'( I don't speak or write Gaelic, so I guess they really did not understand my questions. When I told them that I have (seriously) added to my 'bucket list' Quote Visit Ireland and buy, with a discount using Irishcoin, a pint of Murphy's or Beamish, or even Guinness! . He couldn't give me even a rough idea of how much a pint would cost, or the a %age discount I'd get in Darcy McGee's using Irishcoin. The guy also suggested I was free to pump and dump if I want! Let's hope they are just too busy (doing what?) to pop their heads in the door of our 'Pub' here? I'll try to contact http://www.darcymcgeesatthespawell.ie/ and see if the Pub Landlord knows anything. Looks to me like bit1 and/or his deadcoin list is dead (RIP). Follow up from me at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=812247.20 later. So what would your choice be @Rw13enlib88 ? Blonde? or Golden? I am of course talking about the colours of beer ;) Cheers! Mart Title: Re: [LAUNCHED][IRL] - Ireland Coin - 17.05.2014 - 17:00 GMT Post by: PaddyMac on May 25, 2015, 08:36:28 PM Hi Guys,
Sorry for the lack of posts here and yes I should be more active with forums. I am one of the devs on the actual tourism side here in Ireland. To answer the pump & dump question, if this was the case we'd have done it countless times by now. As you can see the coin has been pretty stable for the last year and we hope to keep it that way. Mart2000 I was talking to one of the other dev guys that you emailed and I've seen your inquiry. Maybe I'm wrong but he did say dump if you want to not pump! :D IRL is in no way here purely for its intrinsic value as a digital currency in the first stage. We're promoting and using it as a discount token for our specific area. We all work in the tourism area and now we're very busy now in that season. That's not to say it wont have value in the future but if you're looking for a quick buck, sorry. We will in due course concentrate in getting our test retailers with our mobile POS this season. We'll take it from there and see how it goes. IrishGiftShop will open it's door online again, I'm told in June and will be accepting both IRL (discount) and BTC (purchase). The web guy has his act together on the site and we'll make in more mobile friendly and integrate the news blog. http://irishcoin.blogspot.ie (http://irishcoin.blogspot.ie) Keep the faith! Slan agus bannocht, Paddy. IMO We need to focus on being included in more exchanges. We can start with little exchanges, but the main objective is to be in Cryptsy, Bittrex and Poloniex. And we need to be in Coinmarketcap http://coinmarketcap.com/ Title: Re: [LAUNCHED][IRL] - Ireland Coin - 17.05.2014 - 17:00 GMT Post by: PaddyMac on May 26, 2015, 11:18:27 AM Hi Guys, Sorry for the lack of posts here and yes I should be more active with forums. Slan agus bannocht, Paddy. Excellent update Paddy :) Thank you. Your support guy did say he wasn't sure if I was being serious or not, which is fair enough. It is not everyday that somebody writes in and says, "hey guys, I am due to die in around ten years and before I go I would really love to visit the Emerald Isle, and as a bonus, buy a discounted pint using IRL. Then drink a pint of the REAL stout, made with Liffy water? before it gets pasteurised, petrified or whatever they do to it before they ship it to England. I know our forefathers have had some serious disagreements in the past, to put it very mildly, but nobbling a dying man's stout? surely not! T'is true though, I had a better pint of stout in Meg O'Malley's Irish pub in Old Downtown Melbourne, Florida, USA (http://www.megomalleys.com/) than I ever drank at home. And her ale pie and cabbage IS worth dying for! But maybe I digress, just a little... 1. I never joke about death. 2. Could one of you nip out to any Irish pub, and just tell me the current price of a good Pint? or have you gone totally EU and been "litre'd"? 3. Google translate does not know "bannocht". If you let me know what it means I will "teach" google some Gaelic, or you can login to google.com and do it:- https://translate.google.com/#auto/en/Slan%20agus%20bannocht At the risk of doing serious further harm to Irish-English relations with really bad google-ised Gaeilge... If this coin is goin public it will increase skyhigh and i'm all on board ;D. For a few box u can buy some cheap irish coin and let it ride :) CMC says the total supply is 35 million. Do you know what the circulating supply is? Is the Dev still active? Thanks Title: Re: [LAUNCHED][IRL] - Ireland Coin - 17.05.2014 - 17:00 GMT Post by: smarterhash on July 21, 2017, 11:32:35 AM you should update the wallet with digishield : blocks comes in huge chunks every N days when difficulty drops to 0 - other days - no blocks at all.

Ireland not so big country for so, I don't understand how this coin will be used for tourism. Now volumes and total cap look like good for pump and dump coin. Just need to understand is it time for pump or for dump. I think that it is good pump potential, but as result of manipulations only.
Title: Re: [LAUNCHED][IRL] - Ireland Coin - 17.05.2014 - 17:00 GMT Post by: IrishCoinDublin on March 05, 2018, 07:08:48 PM It's not a national coin. It's specifically exists as a discount token for Irish Tourism Shops to give discount on jewelery, claddagh rings, irish tin whistles and other Irish related material. It's huge industry in Ireland. If you've visited any of the main tourist sites you'll have noticed this.
