Title: [BITCOIN LONDON] Looking for an 150 BTC loan!
Post by: DoubleIcaras on January 27, 2012, 09:34:41 AM
Hi, I'm looking for another 150 BTC loan, I have already taken out another loan which is set to be repaid within 2-3 weeks. That is still on-track, however I'd like to take out a second loan designated to finish in 4-5 weeks. I will offer an attractive 18% interest.

The coins will be used for the last phase of sorting things out for my Bitcoin London event which includes flyers, signs and something I will reveal in a couple of weeks.

As for the "trust" issue, some may have, I took out a small loan from Goat and I am genuine with my need for my bitcoin event.
(if you'd like to know, check the link in my sig. :P)

If you'd like to lend me the Bitcoins (for a very good cause) use the address bellow and state it was you.

Will goat post and Vouch here?

I loaned him 4 BTC interest free for 6 days, he paid back in like 3.

I know about the event he is doing and have helped support that. I would be willing to loan 10 BTC again interest free to support the event but that is all I want to do right now.

(DI, contact me about shirt size before you order them, thanks)

(Also do not forget about the TyGrr.com sign and the cute girl and or Panda:) )

Thx

It is not forgotten, it's on a piece of paper. :)

I can offer you 14 right now for 15% interest if you are interested, with payback within 3 weeks max time?  15% since it's quite a long time and price is fluctuating a lot right now on the BTC market :(

Any chance I could push you to 10%?

If not, I'll take it, but please remember this is for 0 personal gain, it is to promote Bitcoin! :P

I understand, sorry but it's business, it's money that I can't use for 3 weeks time period so I have to ask for 15%.  What I can do is this, all read to witness.  If you end up paying back before 2 weeks from today then it's 10%, if it's over 2 weeks then it's 15%.

So before the 10th of Feb. it's 10%, the 10th and after it's 15%.  I have just sent out the BTC to the address posted above, 14 Bitcoins with 10% interest if paid back before the 10th of Feb. and 15% interest between the 10th and 17th.

Payback can be sent to:

Just awaiting goats loan.

Sent 10 BTC to cover you in the meantime. Pay me back at 12d5y58GPNAjNv26KF4Nx3EF7moJSvFyNo with 20 Satoshis interest per second once Goat sends you his loan.

I have enough to have the event running, I'm already in the process of gaining the money back to pay back.

I'd like to take out a second loan for 5-6 weeks. Due to the long time, I wouldn't mind paying 15-20% extra, as my friend James has agreed to cover the spare I can't pay back by mining.

So if anyone would indulge me- that'd be great.

Hi, just to clarify with reference to your pm, you have 100 coin.

How much extra are you after, taking it up to 150 total or a different number.

Patrick

I didn't want to take the whole 150BTC loan from you (as that could make you feel uncertain about the loan)
I'd much rather get another 100 loan from you and the 50BTC from other people, so everyone feels more happy and stress free, unless you are able to give me the 150BTC loan?

To clarify, I have 100BTC, I need 150BTC more to get what I want to happen.

I can afford to repay the loan and I'm offering a generous payback terms.

Hope that makes sense, it's 6AM and I haven't slept. <_<

Do you think you could update the original post and thread title with the new amount and a note on why the amount has changed? It'd make it easier to keep track of things.

I might be able to help you out but could you put together a total of all your loans like this

Who    Amount   Payback   Due Date
----    ---------  --------   ----------

So I can see what your total exposure is and also let me know exactly how much more you need.

Thanks

Icarus,  the Bitcoin Credit bureau has been discussing the request.  We will do blocks of 25 coins at 15% of principal.  I will pm confirmation of my sending an additional  25 coins if this is acceptable.

Nit picking:  Your second set of loans should show 150/150 not 100/150 and did you keep the money from Goat or did you send it back?  If you kept it then please add it to the record keeping.

Hey, did you get my 10 BTC (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=61366.msg718641#msg718641)? I'm not yet in the list. Please acknowledge receipt and/or pay back to the address supplied. It was meant to be a loan just until Goat sent his funds, but I'm happy to let it keep running at 20 Satoshis a second in interest until the second repayment date.

Please pay 57.5 BTC to 1LgJfyNohgkyzogxksENpNTy1vafZP9T6 by 3/6/12.

If the only requirement to be a bank is to call yourself one, then perhaps.  Otherwise, there have been many other non-public discussions and then group investments made in loans.

True enough.
Kluge and I had discussed inter-lending a few days back and how that would work, reserve requirements and pre-agreed arrangements including rates.  When we (four of us collectively) were organising how best to meet DoubleIcrus's need, Kluge asked for a short term reserve loan from myself.  Call it a loan, inter-bank, or a favour - I don't mind which.

I will do 10 more at 10% if you pay back at Feb 21st.   So 5% on the 20BTC

Sound okay?

Only if I can confirm someone else can do the other 9.2 first. Don't want to take out un-needed loans ^^

EDIT:  Woops, my bad entirely man.  I was just going over my calendar cause something seemed off.  You were right it's the 21st end date.  I will edit my calendar to correct things and set for the 21st.  Sorry about that.

If this is going to be a default, and assuming OP isn't a scammer, just wanna throw it out there that I'd much rather get something than nothing, and would be happy to work out an alternative repayment deal. I'm sure other lenders would happy with that, too.

ETA: Sent DI a PM, fwiw.

Fwiw, I've started collecting contact information. He was online no later than five hours ago (not here), so hopefully this will be resolved soon and I'm getting a bit too reactive.

ETA: He has waaaay too much information available to be a scammer. Even if he defaults, I'm confident we'll all be repaid the full amount, even if we have to send a notice to "Trapper."

ETA2: Looked over the related threads again. Different time zones + exams around this time. Doesn't seem too unreasonable he just forgot. If this still hasn't been sorted out by 2/24, I'll start releasing information to only those who have loans issued to DI which are PAST DUE -- if the loan's not up, yet, you'll have to find the information yourself or wait. On 3/7, if this still hasn't been sorted, information will be dumped publicly and I'll begin organizing to send initial formal letters.

ETA3: Released info to jfreak, asking him not to contact his father until it's sure DI is purposefully failing to respond.

Sorry guys, been out all day.  No I haven't PMed yet, but I'm going to right now.  I don't think it's scam either, too much info out there on him, but it could be.

At any rate I would be willing to make another payment deal out with him, getting some of my cash back now in chunks is better than nothing.

To prevent more people from having DI's contact info, if, on 3/7, there's still no resolution, I'm willing to write up a document to his dad on behalf of all of us (will submit it to other lender's prior to sending).

inaba and i donated money to his event. i and a few others bought a shirt that we never got. add that stuff to the list, thanks:)
Could you tell me how much you paid (both in BTC and USD using the exchange rate at the time of purchase)? I'll start a list including loans, donations toward an event which is looking like it won't happen, and purchases never fulfilled.

If you'd like, I can also give you DI's personal info, but I'm not willing to give his dad's (which includes much more personal information). Loans include interest, but no "penalties."

Ignore what I said about the USD exchange rate. No way that would hold up in court and it's tedious to try to prove for each individual transaction.

Here's the current list. No other list in this thread should be considered current. Feel free to add to it with transactions you can prove. Alternately, just provide the details needed to fill out the form and I'll do it -- no problem. If lenders want to PM me their names, I'd appreciate it.

Code:

Do you know how much the total amount owed on due date is after interest?

It would have been around 10.41472 BTC (using whole days for interest calculation). Interest is accruing at 0.01728 BTC per day outstanding.

For the record:

Hello!

I've been trying to post with my phone but to no avail.

My old flat had a car crash into it so the last month has been pretty hectic.
Due to this loan repayments are a slight bit behind but I fully intend to pay every single loan back, don't worry.

Though, I didn't appreciate the threats I recieved from one particiular member. I could maybe understand if it was one of the people I had borrowed 50BTC from, but 10BTC and threats like that?
Holy moly.

Sorry if I made anyone worry.

I'd be interested in hearing who that was and how aggressive the threat was. Glad to hear you're okay and still intending to repay.

Any word on the status of Bitcoin London?

If you didn't have a camera readily available at the time of the accident, ask your insurance company! It is part of standard procedure in Great Britain to take photographic evidence of the scene of the accident.

ha ha threat's, that's a good one, I like it how a loan and the guy who loans it says, "Or we will take legal action" and that is construyed as a threat by the one who defaulted ha ha ha ha good one.

Most of my personal loan's here in Guatemala or the states that I do when someone doesn't pay and it's a day past I start sending collection notices threatening just that.  So if your going to borrow money get used to it no matter how little amount it is, you borrow you owe :)

Message sent to him on FB:

I am contacting you today because your loan with me on bitcointalk.org was due yesterday and is now past due and you have defaulted on this loan. I am jfreak53 on the forum, the current amount due is 14BTC and the repayment address is 1P6yMAr2bFyETavQZnCKbn4N1oZeiJtuSp. Please contact me as soon as possible to clear this up, there are other's on the forum that are due also. If these loan's are not cleared up we will have to take legal action. Thank you

Yes I really threatened you my friend ;), Hmm I just noticed though I did get the amount wrong ha ha

Man if all my people that are past due and defaulted on loans got that nice of a letter from me ha ha ha ha, Kid I do this professionally with actual CASH and lot's of it, so please don't.  You owe people money and you were defaulting, you had logged in many many times, it doesn't take 2 seconds to post a reply to this very long thread and say I'm sorry this is what happened please have patience.  You didn't, so that's what happen's.

ha ha I kinda figured he was talking about me ha ha ha ha

I honestly wish people would just ask and talk when their going to default, they would be very very very surprised how cooperative we are when they are honest.  If he would have simply posted and said what was happening I and everyone else would have said, ok that's fine man no problem.  I would have given him a grace time of a week because of it.  But instead of being honest he disappears.  That's what burns me ha ha  Oh well, we'll see if his post yesterday is honest and he actually comes back and pays back these loans.

I'll also try calling his dad on the 7th if no date and means of repayment is given. DI apparently recovered enough from his car crash to buy tickets to a video game conference a couple days ago. Very irritated.

If you have loans out, goods purchased, or donations to DI, please PM me if I haven't already asked for permission to represent you on the letter I'll send (I'll give you a copy of the draft). If it isn't a loan I've already listed in the (code) tags, please tell me the BTC amount of goods you purchased, when you purchased, and what the BTC/USD exchange rate was at the time (if >+-$.20 from $6) -- I do need evidence that transaction took place. I am also claiming authorization to collect all BTC (or USD equivalent) for those I represent. Any collections will be repaid proportionally to everyone I'm representing. If you do not give me authorization, it will be entirely on you to collect repayment. I will NOT negotiate settlements until I have shared any offer given by the defaulter with everyone involved.

Will consider hiring a proper UK attorney if no favorable response is received by the beginning of April (ETA: Already emailed the UK BTC lawyer to ask how this would play out). I intend for these potential costs (we'd obviously request attorney fees and court costs to be included in judgment) to be split proportionally among those damaged. That is, if 1000BTC of damages are sought and you hold 100BTC of that, you would be responsible for 10% of all potential costs were we to receive unfavorable judgment.

ETA: I believe I now have all six other lenders' permission. If you never gave permission, PM me!

There are other options than going to court, just saying.

I never understood why people come here to scam. Most of the people involved in BTC are smart enough to do significant damage if they wanted to.
Yes, court is a last resort, and not something I'm very interested in, though I'd be interested to hear what a judge would have to say on the matter.
