Euphemism above is not correct English:

Social Engineering: Using human interaction (social skills) to obtain or compromise information about an organization or its computer systems.

Fraud: Wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain.

This worked perfectly fine for me.  Getting my Kindle shipped to me as we speak.

Seems like a scam, awaiting a response from someone with a free review before passing judgement.

It's not really a scam, as far as I know. From the looks of it, you'll get it for free initially, but you'll have to pay for it 30 days later. That being said, I'm too nice of a person to try it myself.

Reading between the lines, it is getting an advance RMA using someone else's serial number (likely gleaned from shelf surfing a retail store). When they don't receive back the old Kindle, your credit card will be charged.

My friend did this too, with his account, his bank and everything, just like me, and they are sending him one too hahahah

This is also available on Silk Road for 0.01btc if you're that way inclined.   

It's pretty bloody obvious that 'social engineering' is a (completely useless) euphemism for 'scamming'.

So, amazon specifically SAY they're going to wait for you to send yours back and charge you if they don't get it, and then they don't?

Sorry, I didn't express myself clearly. I didn't mean to imply the act of social engineering is completely useless - for the 'social engineer' (aka 'hustler') it is clearly very useful. I meant that the use of the euphemism was completely pointless, as only a moron could, upon reading the words 'social engineering' and having an example described to them, fail to recognise what was really being described (namely deception).

ETA: btw apologies for the presumption, I haven't been at this forum long enough to get a feel for what's tolerated, but I can't help but feel that, with Bitcoin media coverage being all drugs this, kiddie porn that, and Silk Road the other, we really don't need to let scammers flourish. So I have reported this thread to the moderators. Hey, they might feel there's no harm in it, in which case so be it.

I respect you and the work you're doing here guys but this time IMO you clearly dropped the ball.
Logic was enough to prove this was a scam - either against Amazon (by wrongfully requesting a replacement Kindle with the intent to fight the credit card charge by Amazon when the supposedly broken Kindle never arrived) or against Bitcointalk's users (by wrongfully claiming he had a proven method of dodging the said credit card charge and trying to sell it).

I had a talk with the site owner. I am not on the run. I simply removed the original post and figured I would let it die down. Since neither the owner nor the mods want to take any action in 1. Moving the the thread to the trash to stop the troll 2. Ban me, since I have done nothing wrong.

Your social engineering still needs lots of practice. Sure, just like all scammers, you're not going to stop, you're just going to lie low until people have forgotten about you and then try again... but it really is a bit stupid to explain all this to your marks.
