Just for the record, my design is used on the OP atm and I'm very happy with that even if I did not receive a penny and even if some other logo was chosen to be the official one later on. I'm just curious to know about the possible logo-stakes to be able to make the right moves accordingly.

NEM is completely separate from NXT. It shares no code whatsoever with NXT.

I Originally Donated NXT and BTC in to separate occasions using the same Bitcoin Talk Username I read somewhere
after I had done this that you had to claim the second Stake with another Bitcoin Talk Username

I will provide all the proof that shows I sent NXT and BTC in two different instances and I hope either one of
them can be refunded or applied to another Stake under the ADSactly username

Listen, I don't like this situation either. I inherited this mess but I have to live with it now.
The truth is i have no idea why his wife was removed as UP handled the removing by himself. Many people were removed and if i put his wife back on just like that then hundrets of other people will come and want the same.

I know James from the Ripple Forums and I know he's a good guy but from my POV there's nothing i can do without giving special treatment.

M not able to login it, since the password has been changed by the hacker. I just told the mods to banned my account so that no1 can have access to it. I have trusted member in the btt community who can vouch for me and those ppl have my personal account details and everything.

It means I'm not the one doing the refunds. I'm just adding people to the list and the one that has access to the funds is performing them.
Given that that person is a core dev and has a lot to develop it may take some time :)

I would kindly request you to send this over to the one who's in charge. I made an investment, which
means that one of the unfilled stakes is mine. I've seen another thread which told that there were
several stakes which weren't claimed.

A while ago I created an account to be able to take part in the IPO of NEM.

Because I did not want any spam in my e-mail folder I signed up using a 10minutemail.com address.

I wrote my password down on a piece of paper to secure my rightfully owned NEM-stake,
but unfortunately I lost the piece of paper which contains the password.

I tried and tried to guess the password multiple times, but without any success.

Because I attach great value to this project and the sheer fun of being able to take part from the early start I do not give up easily and came
up with a system that allows people to reclaim their "lost" stake while minimizing the chance of fraud.



THIS POLICY ONLY APPLIES TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE RECEIVED THEIR NEM STAKE THROUGH MARKETING, THE LOGO CONTEST, THE SPREADING OF NEM ETC.
This narrows the possible people to claim to have been locked out down to only a small and MANAGEABLE number of people, keeping the fraudsters at bay and protecting the
people from being the victim of fraud. NOT FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE RECEIVED A NEM STAKE BY INVESTING BTC; People who paid using BTC theoretically have other ways to prove their ownership



For Starters:

There are a few things I am certain of, which, as time will prove are the truth.

NO ONE is going to log in to my old account because NO ONE else has the password or access to my old account.

I am therefore 100% sure (and time will prove this) that the stake sent to the account of which I lost the password will NEVER BE CLAIMED by anyone.

Not after 10 days, not after 30 days, not after 2 years.

With this knowledge in mind I would like to claim my rightfully owned stake through a method of verification that is not yet put in place in the NEM project.

I would like to propose the following POLICY in order to help ME and OTHERS who are in the same position as me get back their stake.

This way I would like to empower the people who lost their password WITHOUT being a security threat and with a VERY, VERY SMALL CHANCE OF FRAUD.



This is still a proposition, so any feedback, adjustment to this policy is more then welcome.



Proposition:

The NEM Development team should implement a policy that puts a time limit on people to claim their NEM stake after the project goes live if people say to have lost access to their account.

This time limit could be any number, but in this example lets say that time period should be 30 days.

The only people who are affected by this time limit are the people who claimed in advance that they have been locked out of their account.

When people approach the moderators that they have been locked out of their account, this notice should be taken care of and written down in a special list like this:



Step 1:

Locked Account:

Name: ******* (old user account)

Claimed By:

Name: ******* (new user account)




Step 2:

Next, the moderators sent various PM's to the "Locked Account" to check for any replies and to alert people their account has been claimed to be locked out.

Whenever the moderators receive a message in return, the "Claimed By" account is banned and put on a black list and the request has been denied.

Claiming a "Locked Account" can only be done once, a second loss of password is denied.



Step 3:

When the claimed "Locked Account" does not reply by the final release of NEM, the following step is released.

If after 30 days of the final release of NEM the stake has not yet been claimed, the stake will then be sent to the "Claimed By" account and the user who
contributed to this project will have his/her NEM stake in the "Claimed By" account.



Finally:


I know most of the people on the board have their time to spend on other things, that is why I as I am in this position came up with this policy system to help myself and possibly others from the fact of being human and getting locked out of the your account. I hereby sign up to voluntarily deal with these kind of problems so the core developer team can keep up doing their work.



PLEASE, before you post a comment make sure you understand this policy completely, any constructive comment is more then welcome!

What if 2 people claim to have lost the password to the same account ? How could we ever know who's lying ?
What stops people from claiming to have lost a password to a bunch of inactive accounts they never owned hoping to get lucky with 1?

An account being inactive for x time doesn't proove anyones ownership.

I have forwarded this to the rest of the team anyway to get their thoughts on it.

Good relevant questions to which I do not have a perfect answer too (and I am not sure if they exist).


There are only a handful of accounts which received a stake through marketing etc. which makes the overview quite manageable.

When someone tries to get lucky with one of them accounts there will probably only be one if none that doe not reply to the inquiry from the developers to
prove their account to be active. The chance of a fraudster finding an account with a lost password that does not reply to the message from the developers is very, very small and should discourage any fraudster of trying to claim a stake through this method. After all, if there is one inactive account, there will only be one "fraudster" to be able to "steal" that stake.

And if no-one has lost their password, there will be no problem at all.

Once an account has been proven to be active after a claimed "locked account" then you encourage the person in question to double backup their password and make sure they can reclaim their password through the built in password recovery in this forum board.

Furthermore a testing period of this policy could be put in place to see if there are any claims coming in, in this testing period, any claimed stake can still be declined by the developers of the NEM at the launch of NEM. This way, the power of decision making lies still in the hands of the developers, again discouraging any fraudster and making it possible to stop any attempt to steal some elses stake.

When two people claim to have lost an account, and indeed the account claimed does not reply we should let both parties know there is another person claiming to be the rightful owner. From this point on the power to hand out the stake still lies in the developers team and they can decide to not give out the stake to either two. The discussion that follows or will not follow can make a difference.

An inactive period of time does not prove ownership, but the the knowledge that your account's stake will 100% never be claimed does.
