Title: Bitcoin.org Post by: MX450 on June 16, 2014, 03:17:47 AM I've been speculating about who runs Bitcoin.org
They say nobody is in control of it but... Of course there is! Who stays behind it all? Title: Re: Bitcoin.org Post by: DeathProxy on June 16, 2014, 03:52:03 AM I think Sirius still owns bitcoin.org and bitcointalk.org. We know that theymos now runs bitcointalk.org and bitcoin.it. It is possible that theymos is also running it now.
Title: Re: Bitcoin.org Post by: keithers on June 16, 2014, 03:58:36 AM nobody publicly takes responsibility for this website? I never really thought about it until I read this thread...

Title: Re: Bitcoin.org Post by: DotSauce on June 16, 2014, 04:37:28 AM On a somewhat related note... I have a hunch that Butterfly Labs is operating these websites as funnels to their products. Hardware recommendations all point to BFL.
http://www.bitcoinmining.com http://www.bitcoinx.com Can anyone confirm? Satoshi handed the forum down to Sirius during the sourceforge days I think. Sirius created Bitcointalk. Then, the permissions were handed down from him to Theymos. Theymos is the current Admin/overseer/*Insert BDSM pun here*/Sadistic Staff Member (LOL, lied about were the BDSM pun belongs.) As for bitcoin.it, that's run by MagicalTux (Mark Karpeles), who you may know better as the current owner of MtGox. http://www.mistresskang.com/Bitcoin/3.html Quote 03:52 theymos That's not true at all. Hi, you must be new here! Let me show you around a bit. 1.) dont know, but geoIP might give you a hint 2.) blockchain.info is not the blockchain. I have a "blockchain server" at home. Plenty others (I recently read several 100k) have as well. Basically everyone that uses bitcoin core. 3.) which server? mine? me and my family 4.) ah no, if it crashes Ill just get a copy from one of the other people running bt-core. enjoy your stay, and read way more than you write. |
