I've been speculating about who runs Bitcoin.org

They say nobody is in control of it but... Of course there is!

Who stays behind it all?

I think Sirius still owns bitcoin.org and bitcointalk.org. We know that theymos now runs bitcointalk.org and bitcoin.it. It is possible that theymos is also running it now.

I really like your answer, and thanks DeathProxy.

On a somewhat related note... I have a hunch that Butterfly Labs is operating these websites as funnels to their products. Hardware recommendations all point to BFL.

Can anyone confirm?

Satoshi handed the forum down to Sirius during the sourceforge days I think. Sirius created Bitcointalk. Then, the permissions were handed down from him to Theymos. Theymos is the current Admin/overseer/*Insert BDSM pun here*/Sadistic Staff Member (LOL, lied about were the BDSM pun belongs.)

It's kind of mind-blowing to be reminded of just how recent that was. Sourceforge 5 years ago...

Last I heard, sirius owns bitcoin.org. As for bitcoin.it, that's run by MagicalTux (Mark Karpeles), who you may know better as the current owner of MtGox.

Yes exactly. Where it is hosted? who own server?

1) Even where blockchain.info is hosted?
2) who own blockchain server and on which data center?
3) Who has access to that server?
4) What about blockchain backup in case of server crash?

Hi, you must be new here! Let me show you around a bit.

1.) dont know, but geoIP might give you a hint
2.) blockchain.info is not the blockchain. I have a "blockchain server" at home. Plenty others (I recently read several 100k) have as well. Basically everyone that uses bitcoin core.
3.) which server? mine? me and my family
4.) ah no, if it crashes Ill just get a copy from one of the other people running bt-core.

enjoy your stay, and read way more than you write.

Im not really here, its just your imagination.
