2012 5 BTC Casascius Coin - Repackaged, slabbed, loadable

I have repackaged rare 5 BTC Casascius Coins with a Nasty hologram.  There are some differences about these coins that make them unique to typical Casascius Coins.  Those things are:
  • 15Nasty Vanity Address
  • Complete Private Key Printed Inside Coin
  • Complete Public Key Printed Outside Coin
  • Public Key & QR Code Printed on Coin Slab (for easy address lookup, works like a charm)

No more firstbits, loose fitting airtites, or condensed private keys.  Don't miss the chance to grab a rare repackaged Casascius coin from someone you can trust.

I am asking 0.25 BTC shipped in the US.  PM to purchase.

Answering some FAQ...

Funded?
I am willing to fund the coins with 5 BTC directly from the 1NASTYfxUpKPwin... Nasty Mining address if you provide the 5 BTC.

Limited?
I currently have only 15 of these coins available with 5 more on the way.  I am not trying to acquire any more, as this was intended to be an extremely limited run.

Coin?
The coin is a 2012 5 BTC Casascius Coin.  It is made of nickel plated brass, and measures 28.6mm in diameter.

I think you did a good job and I think it is a great idea. Further I do believe these could gain a numismatic value over time since it is the original cas-coin and it is not a nobody who made the "repack".

I have a few questions:
How is the coins slapped, is it a slap-kit, where you can slap your own coins?
Is it possible to open the plastic case, or is it "welded" like the professional slaps?

Not sure I understand the question...  Are you asking about the hologram?  If so, it is not a "slap kit" but a custom manufactured Nasty tamper-proof hologram that I am the exclusive owner of.  The private keys I generate personally, print out, and cut by hand.  If you are asking about the coin slabs, they are blank slabs that I purchased and assembled myself.

The cases are very easy to open.  They are mostly there to look nice and provide a QR code for the public key.

I was asking about the actual plastic case for the coin, and you answered that question well  ;D

This is something I considered doing several weeks ago but was not sure what kind of interest there is/was.

Ognasty good job!

BTW is that an overprinting of the address?

Yes, the address is printed over the hologram.  It is all done manually with trial and error.

The private key is printed in its entirety in the below format.  Under each security hologram you will find a folded piece of paper resembling the below image.  If for some reason the folded paper is separated during removal of the hologram, the order to enter the key can be identified by the dots on the top of the printout, with the single dot side being entered before the double dot side.  :)

Are you not using the mini private key?

Are you not using the mini private key?

Nope.  I don't get a warm fuzzy feeling from mini-keys and won't rely on them in my products.

Okay. Just curious. I've found them easier to use for assembly than the normal length WIF (double circles).

One of the reasons Casascius was trusted with private keys is because he published his real-world identity and address for the world to see. What assurances can you offer buyers?

If I buy a coin, load it, and the balance disappears some day, "OG Nasty from the forums" isn't much of a lead to work with.

OgNasty is public as well.
I understand your concern but I will say he is easily found and very trustworthy.
My dealings with him have been very well done and above board.
I have even interviewed him.

I know nothing is perfect but I do not feel we have to worry about OgNasty.

Priced to sell!

How do you make the personalized private keys or can you refer me to the thread that explains it? Pretty cool...

You basically generate random keys and brute-force some of the digits you want in your public key.
The more digits you want to match the more hard will it be to generate.
I generated my key in about 2 weeks on a normal office desktop PC (7 digits).
The "difficulty" grows exponential so 8 digits could take months or even years.

Try play around with vanity keygen that OG used, the program make a statistical projection on how long it takes based on the input.

Are there any nasty fans seats associated with the address?  Is it possible to get some added with the purchase?

Also, if I choose not to fund the coin now, can I always fund it later or have you fund it later if I give the coins?

There are no seats associated with the address.  You could open an account and purchase seats that you direct at the address if you wanted.

You don't ever have to fund the coin, or you can fund it at anytime.

If i send you 5 BTC and you load it...then it will be offline storage? How would I get the BTC online if I wanted to?
