Title: any way to get a couple mBTC for free?
Post by: me_12 on July 16, 2014, 11:23:11 PM
I'm wondering if I can get my virtual hands on some millibitcoins (if anyone doesn't know, BTC0.001) within only a couple hours (2-5 hours) of time per millibitcoin. Anyone got any good ideas?
EDIT: I'm not asking for a free handout. I'm just wondering, maybe, if I can do something for maybe around BTC0.002 or so that I can do in a couple hours

Begging for free handouts is not allowed here.

If you are willing to pay for the bitcoin, you can put a U.S. $1 bill in an envelope and mail it to me (include your bitcoin address on a piece of paper in the envelope, or better yet a QR-Code of the address).

When the $1 arrives I'll send $1 worth of bitcoins (at whatever the BitStamp last exchange rate is when it arrives) to the address in the envelope.

That's about 1.6 mBTC (0.0016 BTC) or so at the moment.

I'm willing to honor the offer for up to $10

Approximately 16 mBTC (0.016 BTC) at the moment.

Find the lost dog that is currently mentioned in my signature, and I'll send you 0.2 BTC.

just go to game and rounds or services subforums and see if you can find something. Or digital gods, if you have any to sell.

Also use the mail system to send money is illegal in some jurisdiction, and probably the money will be lost in the travel.

One of my favorite sites is to earn bitcoin:

http://www.tremorgames.com/index.php?action=shopbrowse&mode=category&categoryid=13 <---- not a referral link

As you can see 630 tremor coins will get you 0.001 btc.

Tremorgames is a GPT (Get Paid To) site, watch videos, complete offers, etc... and you can earn just from playing video games. ;D

Let's say you get 0.002 BTC in 3 hours.

That's about $0.40 per hour at the current rate, you are way better of working 1 hour and just buy the BTC.

Even at $4/hour you will get 10 times the BTC in the same time.

Faucets are also a waste of time, you might get lucky finding a 0.01 BTC giveaway on this forum, most likely in the games & rounds section as Brewins said.

Don't waste your time on gathering dust.

Find any part-time job and work for 2 hours, you should be able to get more than 0.01 btc from localbitcoins. :)

I don't know how much that gives, but you can get free coins by opening a blockchain.info wallet and sharing it on twitter. There's a publicity about that on the wallet's page.

I don't think it's that much otherwise it would be exploited rather easily.

Indeed. But it does require the user to post a tweet, so that gives Blockchain.info publicity wether the account is legit or not.

Other than buying and mining, you can earn bitcoin in ways you earn fiat (eg. sell products, sell services, get a job, etc.)
You may also join a signature ad program as well.

you can mine..

it's not profitable but you can get some mBTC

you can do faucets,PTC, there was some chatroom that paid mBTC, it paid good actually..

can't remember its name..

There are many variables... just saying mining is not profitable is a bad general statement.

With low electricity cost's I am profitable on everything currently (or on way on a few).  Only thing I had to stop was GPU mining because of summer heat was no longer profitable.  Everyone should do own calculations.

that's true

I assumed the OP doesn't have any mining equipment and would mine with an average GPU
I'm assuming that would be unprofitable? :D

Ahhh i can see what you meant now :) i thought you were saying not profitable for anyone.

Very true on GPU's for most sadly.

Weren't giveaways banned from the forum?

If I remember correctly, most of the giveaways in the games and round subsection requires you to sign-up to a gambling site, where you have to use the free coins there and you can't withdraw.

giveaway threads were banned from the "gambling" and "altcoin" forums. they are still allowed in the "games and rounds" forum.

on the latter, you are right, although 777 allows you to withdraw immediately.

Off the top of my head I'd say check out the games and rounds section for some kind of promotion.  You may have to put in some bitcoin to get it depending on the promotion.  Be careful not to fall for anything that seems to good to be true.

not much in games/rounds anymore except 777 -- .0001 per day (you can post every 24 hours), so after 3 days you'll be able to get something after the transaction fee for withdrawal. :)

I'm new to bitcoin, I first saw an ad about bitcoin sometime ago so I decided to do a little research of what's it all about. I found this ad about free daily bitcoins and I went ahead and signed up. I tried to convert the amount of bitcoins that I accumulated into USD but it's really not that much but since I don't do anything at all, no sweat. I get a daily email like this:

We have added the following daily coins to your balances:

FeatherCoin: 0.00002617717 FTC
Bitcoin: 0.00000001240 BTC
Litecoin: 0.00000035197 LTC
FedoraCoin: 0.42757479861 TIPS
InfiniteCoin: 0.02630257158 IFC
Dogecoin: 0.00059777642 DOGE

During the beta stage we will increase the daily amounts of each coin gradually and frequently.
Here's my referral link if any are interested: https://qoinpro.com/9c0d84178d8ea39a22e5f5d5cff86f32

Go to "service" section and you may get some free cash to do something, for example : writing a feedback / comment will earn you $1 in bitcoin within 1-2 minutes, thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=678875.0

If you are a member, you can earn mbtc from signature campaigns very easily. Faucets are really a waste of time. Look around service forums and see if you can offer anyone a service in exchange for a few mbtc.

- wait until you become member level and go to service section to join signature campaign, it's very easy to get mBTC from this campaign (although you get paid by weekly / monthly)
- go to games and round section, keep on eye to giveaway thread that usually pop out there, if you are lucky, you can get free mBTC from there
- go to altcoin section, and look for bounty from profitable coin (and giveaway too, in external link usually)

signature campaign is not the answer since the OP wants to get some millibitcoins within only a couple hours (2-5 hours). Of course you can earn from sig campaign but it would take week or month to get paid, not in hours

Well, I don't think there's any way to get mBTCs in a couple of hours unless you're buying them. Faucets would take hundreds of hours, so signature campaigns are still the best way to get any when you can't buy them directly.

Some campaigns let you to have payments upfront. However, OP must be at least member status. There's no way to get them in a couple of hours. Even buying bitcoins can take days, depending on verifications. It isn't possible to get them in hours, unless you could offer a service at the service forum.

True, there are a couple that allow for up front payments. But Scratch Ticket is pretty low paying (thought I think Jr Members can do it), and Bitmixer is only for Sr and Hero Members.

My previous record was one week to get 1mbtc. The faucet pays a lot lower now so it should take a lot more time. There isn't much of paying faucets soon, they pay 100 to1000 in An hour or more between each claims.

I guess so.
Take freebitco.in as an example, you can get 319 satoshi each hour most likely.
For 10 hours a day, 7 days a week, you can get only 22330 satoshi.
You may try a few other faucets at the same time, but the total amount you can get each day is still very very low. :)

The best place you can get a few mBTC for free is the gambling and games and rounds section of this forum.

There are sometimes a few giveaways mostly up to 10 mBTC, sometimes more.

But there are also scams happening so watch out for offers that look too good to be true and don't visit shady websites or download shady software.

It would probably take closer to weeks then days to get 1mBTC from faucets

The OP should try selling his services on the marketplace or if not able to do that he should join a sig campaign

Seems 777 is still around and that's about it.

Yep, 777 still has their giveaway in Games and Rounds. It's .0001 only, BUT you can post for and receive the giveaway every day, and there is no withdrawal restriction.

Actually there are ways to make that small amount of btc from gambling sites, without investing anything since most gambling sites give free faucets and I have seen ppl make upto 0.1 from that.

That would take a lot of skills. In PD's happy hour, you can get 0.0001 per minute, if you continuously claim them and the varience doesn't change too much, you can get up to 0.003 or less per hour. It is hardly possible for people to make more than 0.01 from gambling faucets.

Ofcourse it takes a bit of skill but a lot of luck for the most part, but OP just wanted to some free btc and this is the best option I could think of, the only thing that will cost him in doing this is "time", if he can afford that. And I have my made 0.001 from faucet on luckynumber and pd many times, it just requires a bit of patience really.

You would really need a ton of patience, if you only get 1000-100 satoshis per minute, it is nearly impossible to make it into 0.001, a very very huge increase. The house edge can also make you lose.

yes, you can earn bitcoin online on various sites including the bitcointalk forum.
all of it is work and costs some time.

faucets - say 0.00009867 per day for completing all of them. do it for one month and you have 0.002 BTC
signature campaign - anywhere between 0 and 0.4 BTC (As far as I've seen)
sell goods - if sold - still a chance in it
exchange -  buy bitcoins using usd or other, example btc-e.com (http://btc-e.com)  and bitstamp.com (http://bitstamp.com)

also keep an eye on the project section and services section, sometimes they give a lot of btc for tasks.

Apart from these, you can also sell services (eg. coding, translation) or claim some bitcoin giveaway in the "Games and rounds" section.

sorry for the necro, but, after trying em, just seems like there's nothing good out there

Plus, I can't do sig camps :(

In fact, you can join the bitin.io signature campaign (thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=751056.0) with your newbie account. The rate is pretty low but still better than faucets in my opinion.

Try primedice, you have their own faucet and you may win some. :D also, try dailybitcoins.org. Farm vouchers and you can sell them here... and find a newbie sig campaigns, I think there is one or two.

I'm wondering if I can get my virtual hands on some millibitcoins (if anyone doesn't know, BTC0.001) within only a couple hours (2-5 hours) of time per millibitcoin. Anyone got any good ideas?
EDIT: I'm not asking for a free handout. I'm just wondering, maybe, if I can do something for maybe around BTC0.002 or so that I can do in a couple hours
you can visit the site that I created http://www.zggfb.com :P , you will find a bitcoin faucet list right here. Currently listed more than 90 hight quality faucets that can get you at least 50k satoshis in less than half hour. Just give it a try.  :) you can also find out other ways to gain free bitcoins there  ;D

Old thread, dug up from Jul ^joke^

Why was begging outlawed/banned? I see beggars around every corner these days, and the economy is in a slump.

Cmon where are the Robinhood's?

Begging is not allowed in bitcointalk because it just creates lot of spamming.
If you are talking about the beggars on the street, I am pretty sure the bitcointalk mods won't mind them taking bitcoin lol. :P

You have many ways to get for free like faucet, mining, signature campaign etc...

Nah, OP wants to get 0.001 btc within a few hours, and so both mining and sig campaign won't work.
For faucets, he may barely be able to accumulate 0.001 btc in a few hours if he uses a faucet rotator to track the sites and solves the captcha as soon as it is ready, but it will be a tough job.

To start you can try faucet but you won't get a lot of bitcoins in a few time but try and you will know what is it.
