Title: [ANN][ISR] Isracoin - The Israeli cryptocurrency -
Post by: IsraelCoin on July 21, 2014, 03:09:15 PM

Isracoin
- a cryptocurrency for Israel (Sybmol: ISR).

Isracoin Airdrop Phase-I
Integration as means of payment in businesses
Phase-I of the Isracoin plan has begun on May 6th 2014 at Midnight GMT+2.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=529409.msg6561798#msg6561798 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=529409.msg6561798#msg6561798)

THE ISR MULTIPOOL
The ISR Multipool (Alpha Version) is now open to the public. (Currently supported algos: Scrypt, X11)
There's still plenty of work to be done on it but we'd love for you to start testing it out.
We'd like to stress the point that this is just a tool for the ISR miners, to help stabilize the ISR market against dumpers and other multipools.
This is by no means the main driver for the coin. Sometimes you just need stopgap measures and so here we are.
Check the multipool out here:
http://isrmultipool.info/ (http://isrmultipool.info/)

Isracoin Phase-II Staggered Release Model
The Isracoin national coin allocation will proceed slowly and in a staggered manner
putting coins in the hands of more people than allocation by way of mining.
This will greatly increase the amount of users and the actual value of the network
while significantly increasing market stability.
Read the full text of the Staggered Release Model announcement (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=529409.msg7110649#msg7110649)

RELEASED FOR PUBLIC MINING MARCH 26th 23:00 (GMT+2)

A MULTIPHASE, STRUCTURED AIRDROP PLAN WILL COMMENCE MAY 6th 2014 AT MIDNIGHT (GMT+2)

Isracoin is a cryptocurrency for Israel. It is based on scrypt and is 10% premined for Airdrop distribution, has a maximum of 4.8 billion coins, block rewards of 50 coins every 1 minute and DigiShield difficulty retarget every 1 minute as well.
The premined coins will be distributed to the population of Israel and Israeli businesses, commencing on May 6th and in accordance with the plan set forth in the official website.

Isracoin was announced March 24th 2014 and its website opened to the public for the first time. The official launch announcement in Israel took place during a TV segment about the coin, in one of the most prominent economic TV shows in the country.

Israel has one of the highest levels of centralization of wealth and assets, with about 20 families controlling most of the industry and 5 banks controlling a whopping 93% of banking assets in the country.

Since 1962 not a single new bank has been established in Israel and lack of competition means the public pays high fees and rates and receives unfavorable terms in their day to day banking. Credit card clearance is also controlled by one body, which has a vested interest in keeping credit card processing fees high. The Israeli banking system is rife with interest over-charging on credit, low interest on deposits and high fees and charges for no apparent reason. The public has no choice but to endure this, while the cost of living skyrockets. Isracoin will help change that.

The purpose of the Airdrop is to put a significant quantity of Isracoins in the hands of as many Israeli citizens and businesses as possible, within a relatively short timespan, in order to jumpstart a strong economy that is based on real-world commerce.
The Airdrop distribution to businesses is an incentive to adopt and implement Isracoin as means of payment, to make the currency geared more towards real commerce.

PREMINE ADDRESSES:
All premine coins have been further consolidated from blocks  1-6000 -> 32 addresses -> <10 addresses.
This was done in order to improve transparency of the premine to the general public.
The premine addresses are now structured according to the distribution plan phases and divided to cold storage addresses and live addresses.
Cold storage will always contain the bulk of the coins, for when they are called upon as needed by the different plan stages to refill the live wallets. The live addresses will be much smaller chunks of coins that are being distributed as the plan moves forward.
For the live operational budget wallet, we plan on adding a spreadsheet (most likely a public read-only google doc) that will contain information on the various expenses from the budget.

Welcome to our Self-Moderated announcement thread.
due to heavy abuse in our non-mod thread, relating to politics instead of Crypto, we are opening this self-mod thread and will attempt to keep it clean and positive.

Our previous unmoderated ANN Thread has been locked and this is now the Isracoin official thread.

Some basic rules for this thread:

First and foremost - ZERO TOLERANCE for abusive language of any kind. Period. Posts containing such abuse will be deleted without notice.
If you can't be civil, even when disagreeing with something or someone, then we can't be friends.

Secondly, and not any less important - This is an Isracoin thread. Not an Israel thread. This is a-political and we will not allow any politics here, period. Suffice it to say that not a single person here is happy about what is going on in Israel and not a single person of ours is happy about the deaths of innocent people. We don't care if you believe us nor do we care what your political views are. And just so you know, our Airdrop also includes Israeli arabs since they are citizens of Israel.
So, this will be the ONLY politically related post in this entire thread and any others will be deleted without notice.

Furthermore - If you reply to an unacceptable post and include a quote of it, or break these rules in your response, even if it of a "positive" nature, we will have to delete your reply as well. So, just avoid responding to posts you know are about to be deleted anyways and save us the task of having to delete yours as well.

We will add/amend rules as we see fit, based on needs that may arise from time to time.
Hopefully people will try to convey their messages in a manner that befits human beings.

And with that, we wish everyone a positive experience here that will help make Isracoin strong and profitable for you all.

Nice to see some fresh information regarding this coin. If this is the new thread please add addition information to op.

Curious if you have any data regarding the phase 1 drop and how it was received by business owners? Has there been follow-up with phase one recipients to get an idea of whether business owners understand the significance of ISR?

I was shocked to learn about the imbalance of wealth in Israel, lack of new banking institutions and thus believe this coin is a genius concept.

Outside of phase 2 airdrop what else is planned for ISR? Technical innovations down the road?

Wallet could really use a skin and added functionality. The default qt wallets looks so elementary.

Keep up the good work devs, I think you've stumbled upon something great and amazingly I have yet to see a copy cat.

Keep active devs, IMHO the coins that survive the next 12 months have a real shot at long-term implementation.

There, a link to the locked thread. Sorry that it contains a lot of BS from annoying people, but hey, live and learn right?
We'll also try to bring some of the more relevant posts from there and re-post them here.

And of course we will update here anytime there is something tangible to tell everyone.
Rest assured we are working hard to move Isracoin forward.

First off, thank you for the supportive approach!
We also agree that this coming year will determine a lot in the field of Crypto and we view Isracoin as a long term play. It takes time and an enormous amount of effort to build infrastructure that is required for such a project to take off.

The Phase-I is now being re-designed in terms of making it a)Simpler for the merchant to register and get approved and b)Combine its system together with a Yellow Pages of sorts that will be a platform for users to find said businesses who accept Isracoin.
We've already had about 150 businesses sign up but there is a long road ahead of us and we are working on a number of things that will help businesses, as well as the public adopt Isracoin.

There is one big announcement that we have in the pipeline and are still waiting with, until the terrible round of fighting is over with. This is no time to come out with such announcements, nor can we garner any media attention to anything we do at the moment.
So we bide our time.

There are all sorts of developments happening and we will post soon to provide some details about them.

Please stay tuned and thanks again for the support :)

We are looking for someone to take charge of the mining pools management.

The most important part of this, is finding pool operators and getting them to open an ISR pool.
Beyond that, keeping an eye on existing pools, maintaining an up to date list (which we will use to update this ANN Thread and our websites).
Also, interacting with the pool operators in cases where there are issues, complaints from users etc.

If you are interested in this position, please PM us or email/skype to discuss.

We are looking for an iOS developer to take charge of a new, native Isracoin iOS wallet.

The main requirements, beyond the general skills of iOS development:

1. Apple dev license, for releasing the app to App Store.
2. Knowledge and experience in managing code on GitHub, including code merging of updated code from original repo and into our fork
3. Willingness to occasionally make such updates, when new code in original repo is available
4. Ability and willingness to develop new features, develop multilingual support and so on.

Payment for work will be in Isracoins only.

If you're interested, please PM us and we'll take it from there.
Include your iOS dev experience, as well as experience with Crypto (preferably from a coding standpoint).
This is more about general iOS development rather than core coin coding (we will provide most of the code relating to ISR coin adaptation)

Especially for our international community, here's a reminder of our Twitter Giveaway system:

If you're following Isracoin closely, you probably saw we finished developing our coupons system for the Israeli public and have put it to the test with really, REALLY nice results (we tested the system by issuing a coupon for voting on HitBTC exchange and what do you know.. WE WON!) so people are clearly responding really well to these coupons (and this is just the beginning), but, we figured we should give something cool to our supportive international friends as well!

And so, without further ado (yet apparently with quite a bit of gusto), we are glad to announce our Twitter Blitzkrieg Viral System Coupons Thingie! (Codenamed: TBVSCT?!?!?!   :o )

ok, it's really not all that complicated as it sounds.
We definitely want to increase our social media exposure and thus, quickly developed a nice little system allowing anyone to register an Isracoin wallet with a Twitter ID and then retweeting any @Isracoin tweets (up to 8 days old) and immediately get a few coins as a token of our appreciation for helping spread the word!

So,
step 1: Follow http://twitter.com/isracoin

step 2: register your wallet addr with a tweet that contains
#MyIsracoinAddress + your Isracoin wallet address
example: " @Isracoin #MyIsracoinAddress iLVFqnEGX3w7JJNY2N6idhByXipUVQRtoc "
(You only need to tweet this ONE TIME to register. that's it.)

step 3: after registration of step 2, you retweet any original @Isracoin tweets less than 8 days old.

step 4: Profit!

FYI - To get an Isracoin wallet go to www.isracoin.org (http://www.isracoin.org) and get your choice of wallet! (PC, Mac, Mobile, Web...)

(takes a few minutes for coins to be sent and you need to have >40 followers to participate and get 1 ISR coin for >40 users and an additional 1 ISR coin per 300 more followers (max 5 ISR per retweet). you get coins only once for EACH tweet you RT so RT all @Isracoin tweets for coins.

GO GO TBVSCT! (We'll work on the name...)

C-Cex removed ISR from their market today. I think we need more hashes at the Multipool to keep the constant buying pressure on Bittrex. Is there a way to see my total hash rate and the pool's hash rate and more statistics for the pool? It's been working but I can't see much of anything.

Just sent your questions to the Multipool operator.
Also, we would love to get some help from you fine people in getting more hashpower into the network and definitely into the Multipool, which is, as you said, very important.
If you feel you can help in this, please contact us (PM) and lets discuss strategy.

When does the actual voting end? Date and time?

No idea. they did not provide this information.

Just voted and tweeted. We are leading by 17 votes. Looks like they count them every two weeks so the next one will be Aug 1st.

If it's Aug 1st, then we need to push hard.
FYI - If you open an account, you can vote once and it counts as 10 votes. you can then logout and keep voting once per day.
If you vote from your computer and your phone, you most likely can vote twice a day.

I have the following issue with windows wallet 1.6.1: everytime it starts it needs to reindex all blocks on disk, this takes lot of time and makes me angry. Does anyone having the same issue? I am using the client on win xp 32 (virtualbox) with a separate data directory (-datadir=...).

This is actually a known issue on Windows XP, which is too old of an operating system and cannot be supported (even Microsoft no longer supports it).
If you install Win 7 for example, you will no longer have that issue.

Update on the HitBTC voting, Latium coin jumped (thousands of votes) from the 3rd place to the first ... we are now lagging behind it and they are pushing forward hard.  We need everyone to vote https://hitbtc.com/vote (https://hitbtc.com/vote)!
HitBTC voting rules are: You can vote every 24hrs based on your IP and once as a registered user which counts for 10 votes.

The decision about which coin is added is tomorrow. Vote!

Hi all

Keep up the good work.

I am a huge CryptoCurrency enthusiast and since I am an Israeli naturally I have been following this coin. I every now and again look in on the forums to see whats happening but mostly I follow http://coinmarketcap.com which I amuse most  CryptoCurrency enthusiast see as a important source of data

I had some free time this morning so i was playing around with something that has been bothering me , Isracoin Market Cap as displayed on there site

The number of "Available Supply"  at time of this post is in their web site is 11,191,412. When you click on it you are taken to the Isracoin blockchain.  how to they achieve that number. According to the Isracoin  blockchain we are at block 132028 so  here are my calculations

6000 premined blocks  * 80000 ISR reward = 480000000 ISR
(132028 current block - 6000 premined blocks) * 50I SR reward  = 6301400 ISR

So I get a total number of 486301400 ISR in existence. If they are not counting the premiere then there are only 6301400 ISR + anything given out from the premine. Do thy follow the premine addresses to monitor that

Was interested if anyone here can offer some some insight. I may be wrong so if yes please correct me if yes

thanks

I think they are doing some kind of wallets maintenance - so I read in their news page.

Aug 2nd
From: Richie

Wallets infrastructure under mandatory Azure maintenance
As we alluded to last night, Azure has a maintenance window starting at 20:00 PDT that will affect all our wallet servers. We expect wallet servers to be up and down most of the night, including the bitcoin wallets. We will try to minimize downtime, but it will take some time for us to bring things back up clean and audited.

C-Cex removed ISR from their market today. I think we need more hashes at the Multipool to keep the constant buying pressure on Bittrex. Is there a way to see my total hash rate and the pool's hash rate and more statistics for the pool? It's been working but I can't see much of anything.

A pool statistics page has now been added to the top navigation bar.

Isracoin is very, very much alive.
We are working and developing infrastructure, while keeping quiet on the media side at the moment (especially in Israel) because of all the craziness that has been going on in the past 6-7 weeks or so. There's just a time and a place for things, and this wasn't it.

We expect to provide updates this week on what is in the works.

Both BTC and ISR are falling rapidly atm. I believe it's temporary. The militia activity in the territories and Ukraine and Iraq and americas probably makes ppl trust the government more at the moment (believing it can protect them? mistakenly?)

Once the dust settles and we'll be left with a hefty economic bill to pay for IDF's actions (and ukraine's government, etc) (guess who's going to pay it, the rich?) ppl will come ba-a-a-ack. ;)

HITBTC HAS JUST ANNOUNCED ISRACOIN AS THE WINNER IN THE LATEST VOTING ROUND!

As you may know, HitBTC is one of the larger volume exchanges that also has USD/EUR fiat.
This is a really big deal for Isracoin, as it is the first major fiat exchange to list Isracoin!

We believe great things are ahead and have a bunch more good news and updates coming up!

Hi everyone,

It's been a while since the last update, so here is what is in the works right now:

1. We are working on a press release that will detail a the acceptance of Isracoin as means of payment for buying land in a prestigious real-estate development. This has been in the works for quite some time and we will be releasing it in Israeli news media either this week or early next week. We can tell you that one of the really cool parts of this deal, other than being the first time in the world (as far as we know) that you can buy land with crypto (and certainly with alts), is that the project will actually set the value of Isracoin at 1 ILS (roughly $0.3) which will help a lot in establishing a commerce based value for the coin.

2. We still have the business directory and restructuring of the business registration system in development. It is taking longer than we planned, but that's just the reality of things. Once this is done, we will be issuing press releases on that as well to get media attention.

3. A new wallet is imminent and will contain a cool new feature that will make Isracoin simpler to use for day to day use for the average person. More on that will be released when ready.

4. A really cool project is now being developed by a member of the Israeli ISR community, that will embody some sort of combination of a tipping system and web-wallet, within the FB platform, especially for Isracoin. this is going to be really cool. should be released for beta in the next couple of weeks most likely.

5. A member of the Israeli community is building a site for selling Isracoin via local Fiat (ILS). The site will essentially purchase the coins from the exchanges and sell to the public for local Israeli fiat currency. This is a very, very important step for the project and we hope it will go live within the next 3-4 weeks.

6. Similarly to point 5 above, a special system has been built to work with "Change shops" in Israel where people could step into these currency change shops and exchange cash for Isracoins. There are several thousand such shops in Israel and we feel this could lead to huge spread of the coin in the country. We are now in discussions already with several such shops who are showing interest and hope to be up and running in them soon and spread from there.

There are a few other things in the works, but they are not ready to be discussed yet.

We will announce each of the above things separately and in more detail, once they are ready.

ISR Team.

A cool new social FB Isracoin wallet is now in beta tests!
As best we know, this is the first time ever a crypto wallet is made available on FB and we think its going to be very cool.
This wallet will help bring Isracoin to the hands of more people.
It is currently in Hebrew only and there's no ETA for English for now.

The really awesome thing about it - you can send Isracoins to ANY friend of yours on facebook, regardless of them having a wallet available.
They don't even need to be registered to the FB wallet yet to receive their first coins from you!

We haven't heard anything specific from them, but from what we can tell it usually takes them about 3 weeks after they pick the winner.
So probably another 10 days or so, but that is just a rough estimation on our part.

The company has already agreed to this as per the details provided above. Now we are trying to coordinate taking this to the public together with a system that will allow the general public to buy Isracoins with local fiat. It is important to us to make this practical and give people a way to actually get their hands on such quantities of ISR.

Just to confirm, it Bittrex is the main exchange for Isracoin at this time until HITBTC comes along. I didn't miss one somewhere did I?

Yes, it seems we are experiencing some nice growth and hope for it to be sustainable.

To achieve that sustainability, we are working on some long term infrastructure these days, the most important of which being channels for the general population in Israel to be able to invest in Isracoin, using local Fiat currency (NIS).
This is intended to come in two forms - a website that allows people to invest in Isracoins by local wire transfer and maybe credit-cards as well, and also integrating Isracoin into as many Change stores as we possibly can, out of the thousands of such stores in Israel, to allow people to buy Isracoins with cash.
Both of these are now in active development and discussions with such store owners and companies that develop the software used by these change stores etc.

BTW - Someone here asked about the ATM situation and as it stands, the government is making it somewhat complicated to import these and combined with the fact that the manufacturers are not very willing to adapt the system for new coins, makes this complicated. Adding to that the exceedingly high cost of these units, makes it a very difficult prospect for widespread use.

We are now talking to business partners of ours in China who developed their own ATM, which is supposed to be lower cost and who visited with us in Israel recently and are willing to adapt their system to support Isracoin.

So, to sum this up, the ATM approach is still on the horizon, but not as close as we first hoped.
This is also why we have been working on the other approach for making Isracoin more accessible, as detailed in the previous post.

So does that mean that you don't have an ATM waiting in customs?
Because a while ago you said: "The unit itself is in customs right now and will take a while to get approved, since this is the first unit of its kind in Israel and the most advanced in the market today."
So now you either either have a ATM in customs that most likely you will not be able to use because it cannot be adapted for ISR; or you don't have an ATM waiting to come out of customs, but that would that imply that the information that you hand out are not to be trusted.

You should look into the Skyhook Opensource ATM. Affordable and you can customize the source for any coin.

When we say the government is making things complicated to get such units into the country, that's what we mean.
The unit has been in customs for a very long time now and there is no ETA on it being released.
Beyond that, the manufacturer is not very cooperative regarding integration of the coin, so with all of that (and the cost) in mind, we are doing everything else that was described in the previous posts.

Bittrex decided to take the first step and combat annoying trade bots.

https://altcoinherald.com/bittrex-busts-bots/

Their method is not perfect, but still better than nothing.

We might see a more healthy ISR market in Bittrex and this might come just in the right time, in case the ISR team come out with some good announcements around the the Israeli holiday season.

Quick updates:

We are getting close to releasing a unified system (A portal, if you will) that will include improved and simplified business registration and validation, the new business directory and search and the improved Local Isracoins. This unified system will help people find what they need under the same website and make the experience more cohesive (This also includes a unified login for all systems).
We will also be adding a For Sale type of classifieds board to this system soon thereafter.

Also, we are having some meetings next week with owners of Change stores in Israel, to discuss details of how to implement adding Isracoin into their Change stores. There's already a system developed for working with them, but we need to figure out some integration, business decisions, regulatory issues etc.

Meanwhile, we are pushing forward with development of a website that will sell Isracoins via bank transfers of Israeli fiat currency. We expect this site to be up within 2-3 weeks or so. Possibly sooner. (The site will place orders for coins on bittrex and hitbtc to supply the local demand in Israel).

That means that by the 4th of October 2014 there should be something to show off (the website), if Isracoin indeed is legit. So far, though, these announcements did not amount to much.

Guys, we update when there is something tangible to say.

Regarding the new wallet that is now being tested and finalized, it will include a naming functionality allowing users to register a nickname to an address (much like in namecoin, but more simplified, geared towards making this functionality usable and practical for the general population).
Also, of course, this will be a bitcoin 0.9 codebase.

Development and merger of a few systems into one website is just about finished. This includes a business directory, simplified business registration and validation process and the Local Isracoins systems, rolled up into one login/website structure.
we still need to put some final touches on it, including a better design for the front page, but for the most part it is done.

Development of a system for direct sales of coins to the general public via local fiat bank transfers is in advanced stages and will probably be beta tested within about a week.

We were finally able to schedule everyone for the Currency Change stores meeting and it went very well. we have an owner of such a store working with us now to bring Isracoin into his store first and after that is implemented, he will be undertaking the process of bringing it into as many such stores as he can in Israel (he is very well connected in this field). We have a general system already developed for this and the next step agreed on is to adapt it to be as similar to the systems they use in their stores, to make it as simple for the store clerks to learn it as possible.
What our system will do is essentially purchase the coins for the Change store via bittrex/hitbtc whenever they need to top off their stock.

The 2nd largest newspaper in the country has just published a bitcoin article and included Isracoin in it, giving it significant weight in the Israeli cryptoworld.
This was in fact supposed to be published more than 2 months ago, but due to the war it was put on backburner until now.
This to us means the time is right to start gearing up for a media assault which we plan to get started with once at least one of the above mentioned channels for buying Isracoins is open to the public. We imagine most of you understand why, but just in case, we feel it will best serve our patient investors' interests to not spend our media ammunition until the general public has simple means to get its hands on coins.

Oh and as of this morning, we seem to have gone up to 2nd place on BTER exchange voting.
We still haven't heard anything from HitBTC as to when they will actually put ISR up for trading, but as we've seen in the past, it usually takes them about 4-6 weeks after the winner is announced.

That about sums up most of the important things that you should be aware of at this point.

Update:

Final touches are being made to a website dedicated to selling Isracoins to the general public via local fiat bank transfers, allowing everyone in Israel to easily get their hands on ISR.
The coins are purchased from Bitrex and delivered to the buyers.
The site should be open to the public for beta testing within a few days time and will start full operations shortly thereafter.

This site is also intended to work directly with the Change Stores in Israel and we are in process with such stores to integrate it into them as well, which will allow the general public to also buy/sell their coins in cash directly at those stores.

Further updates and official announcement of the service will be made soon.

We are happy to announce that the local fiat-Isracoin currency change site is open for beta.
This site allows anyone in Israel to exchange local Fiat into Isracoins directly, via local bank transfers.
This means the lay person can now get his hands on Isracoins without having to buy Bitcoins first, then going to a full-blown exchange and having to trade.
They can now just do a bank transfer in local currency, see the exchange rate on the site, state how many coins they want, and presto.
While this sounds trivial to those who are experienced in crypto trading, it is actually quite a big deal for the masses who have zero understanding of how to deal with such things.

We believe this is a critical piece of infrastructure that has been missing for quite a while now and we are still at work on expanding on it, by making Isracoins available for exchange in cash trades at local Change Stores.
We will update on that as soon as we can.

The site is available at: http://www.israchange.co.il
It is in Hebrew only and is still a very early version of itself.
It will most likely undergo changes, fixes, re-styling and so forth, but it is functional.

We can finally officially release news that you can now buy condos in a high-end housing development project in Israel, using Isracoin and bitcoin as payment!
This has been in the works for quite some time now and it is finally here!

Is there a link to this? It will drive the price of the coin to the roof for the buyer to get enough coins and back down when the seller cashes out.

Interesting, does that also mean, as has been stated before, that the value of Isracoin is set to 1 ILS (roughly $0.3) for buying property from this company?
In the case that this idea has been abandoned, what advantage does it bring to pay with ISR?

Do you plan to give us some update now that the bitcoin conference is over? I'd love to hear how it went and get more specific details regarding the deal with the housing company and how it's supposed to effect this coin.

I would also love to hear about your plans for the upcoming future(if it's not a secret)

Have a good week :)

p.s - do you plan to market this coin to the israeli public? so far i've seen that you neglected the online arena so I assume that having a very active global community is not part of your plan right now... is it because you plan directly market it in Israeli web sites? or are you also interested to get coin followers outside of your country?

I think this dev is taking on too big of a role than he/she can handle. Everyone in the team must have a job to do and accomplish tasks as they progress. The thread is in dire need of a mouthpiece that can regurgitate info as it develops regularly. Heavy marketing is needed now that the coin is launched and trading, unfortunately if it does not gain marketing the price will continue to drop. I could jump on fiverr right now and have flyers, stickers, banners, passed out all over colleges and marketplaces in Israel announcing the collaboration with the housing development. Just a thought.

By the way this coin develops, I cannot not believe that anybody is working full-time on it. It rather seems it gets a bit of attention when they have some time to spare, so it is not dead.
I wonder how far the price can drop, before people stop mining it. And as mentioned before the English isracoin forum is only populated by spammers. But seemingly the isracoin team does not care. But who knows, maybe the coin takes off in six months or a year. Still waiting for the business directory ...

Let's be honest here - the price is dropping because they failed to post a followup after the bitcoin conference

They are not stupid and they knew that if they will disappear the price will drop and drop.

I feel sorry to whoever bought ISR in "change shops"... as far as i remember they sold them for 3 cents per ISR (correct me if I'm wrong).

I will not be surprised if the DEVs had this as an idea... as they do offer "bulk prices" in the website which looks a bit suspicious

And i guess the only way to make profit of it without touching the premine is to just lower the prices in exchanges, buying for low and selling for high to newcomers through their website.

The DEVS can just come and say that its not like that... however .... there should be a simple and logical answer to why they couldn't post something like "great conference, we are now undergoing busy times to make all of it manifest, stay tuned!!"

Hi, all

Me and a group of other crypto investors would like to get some details about the person(or people) who were taking care of the isracoin project in the past 1-3 months(we assume that the active members changed).

The more and more time passes, the more this project looks suspicious and we would like to know who is the person behind it in case this project will prove to be a scam project - I think people should know who was behind it, in case the same person will come with another "business plan".

We are going to try and get info from active bitcoin community members regarding if ISR really did make an announcement in the recent Israeli bitcoin conference

I personally believe that there should be zero tolerance attitude towards people who use cryptos to scam the public and clearly want to know what's the nature of this coin ( still not saying its a scam coin ).

Even if it was a failed coin... i would expect the dev to come out and say its failed and this way the investors and miners will know that it's over.

The lack of info shows lack of respect to the investors and supporters of the coin and I honestly think that the name of the person should be public. so people could take that into consideration before choosing to do business with such a person.

I'd be happy to get more info about the person(the one who was taking care of ISR in the past 3 months)  PM me

Thanks

P.S - Is there anyone in here who is able to check if a large amount of ISR moved from the ISR premine wallet?

I am 100% behind you on this and will do my best to help. The devs are absolutely ignoring the community. The beta website looks like absolute amateurish crap and there is no more news coming since the conference. From what the devs are saying it looks like they are working non-stop and super-hard on ISR when it actually looks like some side project of a student. I have spent months mining, hoping for ISR to take off and to support the idea of a country coin that seems to have a plan, but now I am more and more afraid that I have been WASTING electricity for months and months and the devs are just another bunch of scammers...

A vibrant on-line community and devs communicating with people is a basic requirement for any successful coin and ISR is failing that miserably....

Totally disagree with you!
To my understanding and judgment this is definitely not a scam coin.

I personally believe that the devs team did all the right things. This coin is highly developed there is
•   Desktop wallet (Obviously).
•   Online Exchange (Bittrex)
•   Mobile wallet for Android and iOS (not iOS native though).
•   Paper Wallet.
•   Sophisticated and well organized distributing system for Israeli citizens.
•   Social wallet and tipping system in Facebook.
•   Local Online Exchange for fiat Israeli currency.
•   Change stores in Israel (Not sure about that).

How many coins achieved so many features in so little time?
How many coins achieved so many features and infrastructure at all?

But there is some critical component that Isracoin does not have:
•   Luck (and the interest of the Israeli people, AKA: PR).

I've personally invested in this coin and I'm pretty upset watching it going the way it goes.
Nevertheless, luck and public interest can change any day, and since I believe in the devs, I'm not selling.

I too am invested in this coin and will hold all I have collected, I have faith in this project and intend to continue with my support, (calling for people's name is a little overboard and dangerous kinda like a lynch mob waiting to happen.)

I actually agree with you...but that is why I do not get why the devs are ignoring the community and do not maintain the forum, website and their fiat/isr website.

There is nothing happening in here, there is no IRC channel, nothing....

PR starts here. Their website has not changed from its introduction and http://www.israchange.co.il/ looks like they put it together over lunch. Sorry, but definitely not shiny...and not in English either...
The main web page has its last tweet dated over 14 days ago.
There should be pictures and videos of people buying coins in local shops, or at least the FIRST ISRAELI ICE CREAM STAND THAT ACCEPTS ISR...SOMETHING!

BIG NEWS FOR ISR - You can now pay with #isracoin and bitcoin for land parcels in a high-end condo project in Israel!
where is that? any pictures? could have just pulled this out of your a**....

•   Mobile wallet for Android and iOS (not iOS native though).
why bother developing one of the first wallets that work on iPhone and then not milking the crap in PR value out of that?

•   Sophisticated and well organized distributing system for Israeli citizens.
any proof? haven't seen that reflecting in price, volume or any pictures or videos...nothing...

•   Online Exchange (Bittrex) it has been there for months and the volume and trading is not showing any real activity...especially considering it's the only place to trade them...

•   Local Online Exchange for fiat Israeli currency.
as I said before. There were news about it being in Beta and NOTHING since. As their web page. Seems like the box is ticked and that's good enough.

You can't just develop a coin and ignore the community. That is what this is all about. If I had no idea about ISR and came here or to their web page I would immediately dismissed it
as there is nothing tangible or obviously vibrant about this coin.

The fact that I was here since the beginning and been mining and supporting the coin and still really believe in its potential is why I'm driven mad to see the lack of interest from the devs.
....and price slowly declining.

If I was the dev I would be like: We got all the infrastructure in place, let's start making people aware! I am not saying they are supposed to pump the coin, I was in this for the long haul anyway, but ignoring PR is not the way to go either. I am already paying more for power than I mine  (I never mine to make profit instantly, but just comparing mined value with price of electricity).
I am essentially buying ISR by paying my electricity bills and if this trend of slowly trickling news and dead forum continues I will have to decide if I am willing to keep throwing money away or hold my bag and stop mining. If other people do the same the coin will be dead in the water...

I still belive in ISR, I understand that situation in the country is difficult, I understand that fighting the legacy systems, corruption and people in power is not easy... but that much more
you should share that with the community and keep us in the loop...

All I am trying to say is: Everything seems to be in place (from what we know) and yet the price, volume and life of the on-line community is almost dead.
What is going on???

First thing first - I did not call the coin a scam coin. what I want is two things - to discover if it is a scam coin and know who are behind it.

sejwan said "I too am invested in this coin and will hold all I have collected, I have faith in this project and intend to continue with my support, (calling for people's name is a little overboard and dangerous kinda like a lynch mob waiting to happen.)"

Not at all - when you invest in a company or buy stocks or bonds - You can get enough info about the people who are standing in the head of the company.

For example if you like the way that they handle the business you might want to invest in other projects they will head in the future.

If they did not do a satisfactory job.. then you can choose not to invest in their projects in the future

not having "names" is very "crypto" would -you- go and buy stocks and bonds of a company that has no offices or names of the people who are behind it? I think not.

The problem is that many people see the crypto world as a bunch of kids who mine with graphic cards. a lot of people are investors, people who actually use their money to invest in a coin, just like they would do the same in the stock market.

The need to know who is standing behind a successful or failed project is a legitimate one and has nothing to do with a mob waiting with torches.

-

CoinMiner10 - I've read that you disagreed with me and I didn't say its a scam coin, just that things seem to be very suspicious... judging by what you pointed at, should make this coin a great coin -- IF and when we will get a proof for most of those things.

g_d - you invested in electricity and also mined ISR when you could mine a more profitable coin, you invested money and helped the blockchain, the ISR DEVS owe an answer to people like you who continue to activly support their project by holding their blockchain.

schnorchel - thanks for the info, will get into it...

-

All I have to say to the people who believe in ISR is one thing - if you believe in it... then go buy 20,000 coins - it costs nothing right now...

I honestly wont be surprised if the DEVS are silent on purpose in order to lower the price so there will be a "logical" room for a 5 times jump the moment they will do a last resort PR boom.

I actually invested in this coin, because I thought there were a few names out in the open.

Furthermore I think, even it were a scam, it would have been a poorly executed one, because they never really pumped it.

Has anyone ever tried to talk to Guy Sheffer (guysoft) on http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=%23isracoin
?

And we are talking here for days and what is the devs reaction? F#CK all....

g_d :   Just a theory... One of the guys they work with, has a company that makes mining hardware. so its a logical possibility that they don't care of you mine it or not and even more it might be a possibility that they mine and sell most of the coins out there(without a need to touch the premine)

combine it with with the fact that currently(as i'm writing it and it might change)  http://www.israchange.co.il/  - says that they sell each ISR for 0.10 sekels which is about 0.03 cent (a lot more than the price in crypto exchanges) plus offer "discount" to whoever buys in bulk...

I will not be surprised if the coins that they sell in this site and also the coins sold in "change stores" are not getting bought off exchanges and are being sold from the amount of coins that they mine everyday - if they partner with a mining hardware company then again its possible that they produce a large amount of coins everyday (not saying that its like this, just saying I won't be surprised).

And even in THEORY _IF_ they are buying it off exchanges.. they would actually enjoy a "low" price because they sell their ISR for a fixed(and currently higher) price at http://www.israchange.co.il

So why should they give us any word? they might not even need us.

P.S - the housing deal from the link posted above says that you can pay with ISR up to something like 14,000 sekels which is something like 3700$ - and of course there is no evidence saying that they accept ISR at a higher rate than in exchanges anyway.

Screaming silence :(
I had the expectation that they would implement their plan. Never mind, if it does not work out. But if they just remain silent without implementing any further goals, that would suck. Maybe the team members just quit, one after the other?
I am still waiting for the website containing information about where to spend your ISR. Without that, how can it ever be used as currency?
@ISRACOIN: Is the coin finally dead? If it is, you should say so. Otherwise a short statement what steps you are going to implement in the near future would be welcome. A list of the current team members would be highly appreciated, too.

On bittrex:

This market is in danger of de-listing due to low trade volume and lack of user interest. It may be removed on November 14th unless the average daily trade volume for the last 7 days exceeds 0.2 BTC.

The developers should say something, otherwise this coin is toast.

Come Devs, you have a good coin in your hands, don't give up, nothing is easy in life, just a good idea can bring this coin to the top! For example you can do this in Israel to bring Israel coin to the top

Nice to see this thread cleaned up it was getting a bit hard to keep up with, keep up the good work my support to this coin remains intact.

+1

I really appreciate the information clean-up here, too -- and it's great to see that the devs are among the (few) people who really got it when it comes to long-term implementation of a Crypto coin by (slowly and diligently) b-u-i-l-d-i-n-g a marketplace and every-day acceptance for it. This is exactly why I have a lot of confidence in this coin!

The entire idea of the airdrop -- but more so the business-airdrop portion of it! -- is what sets this coin apart (and as for copycats, yes, it is really a bit surprising that others seem to be so far away from even getting this that they even fail to copy these measures for their own stuff; guess this tells you right there)!

I am also keen to see that bit of news to be released when the situation seems fit for that. I regret this is influenced by "outside factors" that got nothing to do with Crypto coins, and I hope people will learn to distinguish between a country "brand name" (particularly one that was apparently hijacked during the 1917-1948 period or so by the London-centred powers that be who BTW were also material in messing up Europe for at least 70 years, and give the whole thing a bad name) and the PEOPLE and all groups of society living inside its borders. The idea of ISR, on the other hand, very clearly, is one of the 95% good people in the streets attempting to break free from the corrupt top 5%.

Bitcoin itself may turn out to be a tool for reclaiming financial freedom in a wider sense. Both Bitcoin and viable Alt coins like ISR (and a select few others) will similarly have to develop along the ideas outlined by the ISR devs here in order to continue spreading to everyday-users and ultimately result in mass-adoption. Continuing to watch eagerly...

Time to tank (even more). Or to rise like the phoenix out of ashes (highly unlikely). It's strange, some people are still mining it on http://isrmultipool.info/ (at least the site's statistics say so).

It's going to get de-listed on Bittrex again unless volume is back up to 0.2 BTC.

What the hell happened with the HitBTC vote and listing??

It's a "country coin" and it isn't being used in that country.
If that doesnt happen it has no future.

Mikael Bouzaglo (a dev I think) wrote a post in hebrew on the Isracoin fb page a couple of days ago promising that 2015 would be a year full of new and exciting things for Isracoin.
Whether or not there's any substance to his post is up for debate  :(

Yup, it would seem like that's the case.. (no one giving a fuck)

I just wish there was at least some explanation  of what happened. I still can't figure out how the whole thing just fizzled out...

If it gets de-listed that is (IMHO) the end, final blow.

Ok so apparently no one gives a shit if it gets removed from Bittrex. The guys at HitBTC haven't listed it even though the contest was over several months ago and it's already 2015. What the hell is going on?

What happened is this coin ran out of steam, like every other coin launched around the same time as ISR or any other countrycoin which was quite hip some months ago.

You allready give an explanation of why things fizzled out: noone cares. It was pumped to 50K I think in the beginning and I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did. I'm sure those who where there first have jumped ship a long long while ago, I know I did.

ISR is by far not the only coin to which this applies but you'll have more fun in crypto just moving on, this one is done.

I don't think so. Definitely not trading on any of the major exchanges.

I really believed that this could have been a hope for the new Israel. As it seems, the devs are the same money grabbing ass*** like any other shitcoin devs.
Thanks for letting us all waste out time and money. I hoped that the new generation will hopefully turn the tide and maybe in the future will help Israel to become a modern country that can deal with
bullshit wars and retarded conflicts.....

I said it once and I'll say it again

We should somehow get the names of the people who worked on this coin at the time that was before the bitcoin conference.

We don't know if they were dishonest or not. what we do know if that none of them came here and said "its over" or anything that would let people know that they stopped working on this coin (and by that let people know not to waste their money on buying or mining it).

Sadly enough usually its the same type of people who will come up with new ideas to ask investors to give them money.

Even worse they can be hired in a managerial position above you.

No one wants to deal with people who cant take responsibility or to give their investors the minimum of respect.

Sadly such people always find a way to take things like isracoin and make themselves look good when they present themselves to new investors or workplaces.

I must stress that i do not have a problem with their failed project - the problem is with them failing to tell us that its over and let us keep mining or buying the coin.

they went out with pumped up words before the bitcoin conference and then disappeared

From one point of view it can look like a last resort attempt to pump the price and get some money before jumping out of this project

Anyway it would be nice to know their names.. i would not want to work with such people (above or below them).

I really don't see why they don't give the minimum respect to say thanks to all their supporters or to even come and say that they still intend to somehow get this project up(unlikely).

The pool that I mined on is down (http://btcil.mooo.com:1948) for weeks now and I thing Omarg pools ran ISR too (I think they were actually sharing resources or something) but not sure where they are at now.

Trading is over. It's nice that Alts is giving us a way but the trade volume is non existent. I think, as much as it saddens me, it's over for ISR.
I really had hopes for this one and it looked great for a while

....we got screwed...  unless the devs are sitting on a big pile of ISR and have some mega secret plan to blow us all out of the water in 2015 (chances are reeeeeally slim)...but that's just me hopin' as I have spend a lot of resources to support this fucking coin.

Actually enough to force me to go out of my way and say this:

Rot in hell you ISR developer c*nts, f*ck you, your country and your mothers. I hope all of this will come back to haunt you one day.

Personally, I don't concern myself with that, as I have seen so many coins come and go. Many coins have survived that I did not think deserved to, where others that could actually serve a purpose have flopped. Bottom line for me is that it is still mineable and tradable.

Well, after I created an account for my ISR, I decided I'd give them some business to dump my DRK that I want to get rid of.  I deposited the DRK and it showed up pretty fast.  But after I deposited it, it seemed like my only option was to sell for half the market rate of other exchanges.  So I initiated a withdrawal of the DRK, and it said it wasn't able to withdraw at that time.  The withdrawal was pending for several days, and I finally cancelled the withdrawal.  I'll try again soon.

Update - I tried a withdrawal again at coinqx, and it went through immediately.  (I have 2 confirmations)

So coinqx.com is a totally real exchange IMO, and a perfectly good place to send your ISR.

Yes, I just saw that they reworked the exchange a bit and I had to put in my orders again that had been pending.  I have some ISR up for sale there too, along with Koruna, eDollar and Schilling. Now we need more traffic on the exchange.   :)

is there life to this coin again?  I still can't find a block explorer or a working webpage for isracoin?

Has isracoin become this Zioncoin?  it doesn't appear to have a website but does have a block explorer?  Are either coin legit and worth throwing miners at or are they just trying to get listed so that guy from earlier posts can burn them out of existence?  From what I've read about the burn it doesn't appear to meet the criteria without an active market or block explorer.  Will this coin ever be revived?  I'd like to mine the isracoin but every time I check the activity on this thread there doesn't seem to be any thing indicating a value of expending hash power?  No dev activity, no website (or at least English with activity for over a year), no block explorer, there seems to be an active mining pool where it seems a stick miner or even gridseed can mine lots of coin/day.  Are the active miners die hards for the coin, or other motives that I don't understand?

Hi all, someone has active nodes , aika maintains the pool , if you look at the graph everything sold at the beginning , there are only miners and people who bought in Bitrex:

http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/isracoin/

If someone wants to support this coin , I include myself maybe we should come together and add yobit , thanks to everyone , greetings.

you can't add it. you need block explorer, website, developer. Most of all it's 10% premined and again they will refuse to add it.
if you send them the dot coins they will just take them and say you cannot add it.

Hi all,

Any news on this coin?

it's a shame that it's just gone away.

Is it traded anywhere?

Are there any pools?

Is anyone paying attention?

Nope. AFAIK this coin is dead. If anything ever happens it would be a miracle. The devs are a bunch of c#nts that just left and left us all completely hanging.

The more I know about Israel the more I regret ever paying any attention and supporting their coin and f###cking country. >:(

I know little about the situation but it's unfortunate that you feel that way and that this post exists  :-\

in any population there are bad people.  crypto world is not an exception.

looking at their website (http://www.isracoin.org/) it's been turned into an SEO farm.  Blog articles + sidelinks to the max and a crappy logo.

pretty crappy if you ask me.

sorry for those who lost money

True. The most annoying is, that this coin actually seemed to have been a good one. It was gaining track, there was a lot of talk of POS integration, some pre-mine release to the public + the monopolistic banking system in the country etc... Perfect storm of good things going...
and then suddenly..quiet. No info, blog post, nada...
It's as if the family owned banking companies threatened the devs or just bought them out. Like: Walk away or you're dead. Or here some cash and if you want to stay alive, drop everything and just walk away... Seriously sudden like that...

It would be easier to digest if we at least know what happened. There was no real sell-off, or anything... just one day the dev(s) disappeared... I had a lot rifing on this as my due diligence (short of being in the country and speaking their language) was panning out as one of the few coins that could have made it...

I was hoping that the next generation of young tech Israelis is more intelligent and enlightened than their parents, but seems like that place is going to be full of a**holes for centuries to come...

Well either way, is there a way to take it over? Would they be open to someone else running the show?
Again, is it mined or traded anywhere? There's lots of garbage coins being traded, they're not vanishing like this one did, wtf..

Your guess is as good as mine. Read through the thred, there was a couple of exchanges... I think you have to add nodes to the QT wallet to make it connect now as well. Also, somehwere in this thread. Just got no time to find it for you atm.

I would love to see this coin rise again, but without all the promise it had connected to it....I'd say every one would still look at it as a shit coin...
You would have to bring in a real game changer, otherwise not worth the trouble.

After hearing the details it's even more sad, I figured it was just another shit coin.  Your suspicion about the dev being bought out could definitely be true, I wouldn't be surprised.

It's quite embarrassing that the website exists in the form that it does.  Whoever is taking the profit from that website should be ashamed.

Hopefully new Israeli's techies can change your mind.  Ohad Asor is one that comes to mind among many others.

It seemed a sustainable currency,

it hurts that it did not have exchange and aikapool stopped giving support to the mining,

aikapool.com/isr/

really only it takes a dollar to activate a node.

vps 1 dollar month

You can also try it for free

Interesting name of the coin. It would be even steeper if the name was - "Promised Land". And what, only in the Israeli citizens on the passport will sell?
