So I know Coinbase has different prices for them...but I swear everytime someone posts these "What is going on with price" Or "wooo price is rising tons"  it is exactly the opposite of what is happening at Coinbase.

I woke up this morning and it was down to $580 per coin, it is now at $605, so a $25 dollar increase today(I didn't check on it yesterday) but seems rather odd....I read a post the other day that said its been going up for the last 3 weeks....It went down $25 dollars at Coinbase in 3 weeks....so who knows?

Prices are down because people are selling. And people are selling because they panic to see prices down.

When they realize there's nothing bad going on, prices will go up again.

Floor support of last bubble (end of 2013) was 500 as predicted by the www.BitcoinAlgorithm.com so when ever it gets near 500 or a little lower it will come back just based on broad amount of users now that support the $500 floor.

Next major bubble is 10K peak and 5K floor support and as the www.BitcoinAlgorithm.com explains, it is entirely dependent on one thing, the real core user base growing from 700K users (end of 2013) to 7M users (projected users end of 2014).

My Wallets info on BlockChain.info seems to be a decent approximation of width of user based and you just need to create a percentage of user base as a fraction of total population then take that fraction and divide into GWP then divide by 21M bitcoins and you have a floor value to bitcoin that IS REAL and based upon real economic data and not just news and dumps and buys.

Any major news today to drop btc 7% today, 625 latest range so 580 was 7% drop and it recovered half in same day.

Were any wallets moved today?

Someone dumping a position maybe since value growth has been flat a while now.

Maybe a short term investor looking for huge growth and dumping after short ride??

The floor was 500 end of 2013, the floor should be 5K end of 2014, as you all know when btc moves up, it jumps REAL FAST, and that jump will happen soon.

This is one of things which makes Bitcoin not so practical these days. I am earning Bitcoins and dont want to hold all of them, but also to spend them on different things and services. For example I liked something yesterday and wanted to buy it today, but as the price of BTC goes down I have to spend more BTC on that and this makes me regret that I pay more for something. Have you been there?

Holy crap... I dunno, though. I'm going to be quite skeptical about that prediction. Especially as I look through most of the site...

That does seem like a logical scenario, however. I, for one, wouldn't be opposed to it happening. But I also find it had to believe it will plateau at $10k. I'll expect it to go up as time progresses.

I see you spreading the same FUD on multiple threads. Let people make their own decision based on how they see the crypto market. Don't be the grim-reaper my friend. I see that you have been predicting the downfall of BTC for some time and just maybe you are right, but let people make an informed decision on their own. If they want to speculate and keep their BTC, just let them. Dont spread panic in the ranks of people who are just jumping onto the BTC bandwagon :). Peace.

I was wondering about this as well. The price is moving up and down like crazy. Just went on my laptop and it was $525. Then refreshed the page and it was barely above $500. Refreshed it a couple of minutes later and it was $515. Yesterday I think it was $560-ish. A week ago, it was sitting above $600. What the heck?

I have limited $$$ not fully verified yet on coinbase...so put in like a token 79.49 usd or some such
for bitcoin at someting like 508 usd as a mental bet it won't 'stay long' under 500.....and bounce around
above that 500 usd mark at least (who knows?)

more an act to appease the asic gods then any real good it will do...but hey.....wtf

(this being optimistic however is somewhat scary...you feel so damn 'hopeful' shudder)

I would bet whales are pushing price down to get liquidity at low price. LArge investment firms and others similar are now interested in BTC but they find low liquidity at prices higher than 600.
Wait and see, we might get down to 450 or 350, then spike to 300 then rocket to 800.

remember, the last high price was 1200~, the LOW before that high was ~50 - so if the NEW LOW before the next high is 300~450 then the new high could be 2500 or more (assuming argentina jumps in soon too)

What exactly are you basing this off?  I mean, if it plummets to under a dollar...I am guessing people won't get involved with it anymore...

Even if it does go to 300-450 I am still guessing it won't go to 2500, maybe just maybe it will go to 1000 but I think that is still high hopes.

The price dropped yesterday is due to 1 big holder selling at market price at btc-e. Bitcoin is still very fragile if one to two whales can cause the price to drop 20% in 2 weeks.

<100 is not the end of the world. It will only kill speculators and big mining farms.

Overall ecology might be healthier when there is less speculation.

The Chinese haven't left, most people in the community know that. The 2013 mean was greater than $100, even if you have Jan-October at $5 and then Nov-Dec at $1,000, as a simplification of the charts. The mean is ~$170. Both of your points wrong; what research did you do?

This is my perspective.

Like most things its not a single cause.
  • Still coming down off a bubble from lots of get rich quick speculators.
  • Market cap and global trade volume still small enough to be easily driven up or down at will by those with lots of capital.
  • I think projects like Ethereum have people questioning the long term viability of bitcoin.  That project has taken in 28,000 bitcoins (@ $475 = $13.3M) over this time period.  So far they have liquidated about 3,500 bitcoins but that will create some down pressure as they cash out the rest of it.

We'll see. We're in an uptrend, if we go up for a week or so. If we start to go down again this time, we're in for another boom. At least one more bottom testing is still healthy and not at all improbable!

Market is still up from a year ago.  Bitcoin has already seen more venture capital invested in it than the internet in 1994.  Most of that happened this year, not to mention PayPal developing relationships with Bitcoin companies.

No but will make price more stable and make coin more stable, and give him chance to survive.
So many here are just 100% convinced Bitcoin is the currency of tomorrow.
Ye sit is, but is not certain. If things go wrong will not be for sure.

It seems it will continue around $350 for a bit, my guess is we will see a slight rise to just above $400 for a month or so.  Then we will hit another bottom around $200, and this trend will continue for a year, next year I guess BTC will value around $80 dollars a coin

My guess is steady slide down still, once we break $300 again then we may see some panic. The true bottom will come in and BTC will be oversold followed by a huge spike back up and then it will slowly settle at some point...where it will remain till most people are dishearted

I have invented an amazing BTC/USD price prediction engine, which you can build in Excel.
Input formula =B * (1-x) / x

Where
B = The Factor
x = rand()

I choose The Factor to be today's price, but you can try other choices
Happy trading :-)

It's doing bugger all this week. Remaining tight around 350.
I remember, back in the old days, when it used to remain around 450.

I have invented an amazing BTC/USD price prediction engine, which you can build in Excel.
Input formula =B * (1-x) / x

Where
B = The Factor
x = rand()

I choose The Factor to be today's price, but you can try other choices
Happy trading :-)

x = rand() LOL.

If your prediction engine is based on a random number, its a random prediction. I know its a joke and i have fun with your equation.

I would change that random number for a natural factor, like birthrate or something like that.

Is sad to see Bitcoin price now, $350 is not a good price. Hope it go up soon.
