Title: What is more Power Efficient
Post by: kahir on July 25, 2014, 07:18:44 PM
Hello i would like to know what algorithm is more power efficient as the topic say

myr grostel or qubit (x5)

and does the increasing of the X make the algorithm more power efficient

like if

x11 uses 100 W

does

X13 uses 90 w  AND x14 use  80W

whirlpool-->whirlcoin because it lack optimization

uh? lol?

this is the true man, it is whirlcoin with whirlpool algo, if you don't believe me just do some research

thanks for repeating that everywhere after all the time I spent improving it...  ::) and this isn't entirely true
(you never said that groestl was crappy before Christian released killer groestl... and currently this is where whirlpool is,
it isn't (yet) killer whirlcoin but went through at least 2 or 3 rounds of optimization.)

regarding power efficiency. Saying that a gpu use less power over a long chain, means it is less efficient not the inverse.

i never said it just because i wasn't a nvidia user back then, not a strong one at least(i didn't care much about nvidia to be honest), but it's true it still lack some optimization

actually i said you did a great job with it in the official thread i remember one of my post saying it

Doesn't it do 9300 kh/s on the latest sgminer fork by djm, that's up from 3300 kh/s....

guys guys .... the question why i made the thread is not answered yet ....

Your question is a little vague. Do you mean power efficient in respect of hash power or just low power? I'm just assuming the power efficient per hash power.

exactly ....

example

if im mining myr

and im getting same  X myr coins using both algorithm MYR-grostil and Qubit ...... which one use less electric

same here lets say im mining a coin that uses x11-13-15  and getting the exact amount of coins for each algorithm .... which one use less electric

I would say HVY is the most power efficient per hash, but not necessarily the most profitable.

9300 one card? i must have missed it

myriand don't have whirlcoin, stupid question, you can't compare like that, for now the most power saving is whirlpool
