I know I would be curious to know why they wanted my details rather than me just being able to donate the amount I wished to and that be it.

Don't think the KYC applies to non-profit charitable organisation (there may be some donation threshold though, when some info is required). As long as they don't ask you for the copy of id - I don't see a problem, but if such info is not required by law, they should make it optional. Accepting BTC doesn't require an email address from the customer. Why don't they just post their BTC address? Of course, it will be better if they didn't ask for email and name, but still we are not required to give real details. If you like them- support, if not, don't support. |
