How the game works
This game is a round or better tick based tactical/strategical war game in a SciFi environment.

Major goal (besides having fun) is to reach rank #1 in universe ranking to win the core prize. To achieve this you need score which is in turn a result of spending resources (named: metal, crystal or eonium) into Spaceships and similar more or less military equipment.

Resources are mined on initialized Asteroids floating around your planet. These asteroids may be found in deep space by using appropriate scans or by attacking other planets in the universe using Astropods, a specialized ship for transporting asteroids to your home planet. To support your astropods you could (and should) send other ships along to destroy or distract enemy forces.

The different types of implemented ships are divided in several classes which can attack (or stun using EMP) a distinct class of ships. To build these ships you have to research the appropriate knowledge and construct some industrial production place.
To be able to plan better and more effective attacks you can research and build scans giving you different information about potential targets.

In the case you want to defend from attacks, you may build a planet defense system (PDS) or a big fleet to defeat any attacker.

Planets are grouped together in galaxies (and may not attack each other) which in turn are grouped into clusters forming the universe.

The price to play is: 0.01 BTC.

Each round is a week long, and the ticks are every minute. (For example, when you read that it takes 8 ticks to build a wave amplifier that means it will take 8 minutes.)

Rage Bonus:
The players who sign up early get paid back 1.2x their payment to the game.

Absolutely not. The intention of the Rage Bonus is to reward the early players of each round and to deter people from creating multiple accounts.

Its like one of those text based space war games right?
I think there was one called Ogame.

Problems:
- Not enough documentation.
- Too expensive for a game like this. (I'm guessing it is a 0.01BTC payment each round right? )
- No beta testing feedback.

Alright, well that seems cool enough.  You should have an in game way to make money, like by trading or looting other players!  That would be epic...  Currently, is it only early registeration OR being the number 1 player that earns you money?  That's a bit boring, more ways of earning would be better! :)

My ears are wide open. Maybe a battling station, where two players (or two alliances) can put BTC into a pot and winner takes it?

Yep!  Or like a certain location where the players can travel to which is like free for all PVP, where people can just loot each other (with rules of course!) and go crazy. :)  Is there a chat somewhere on the site so we can communicate easier?

If it's too expensive, it can be adjusted. As it currently stands at little over $5 USD. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll consider this, I just did not want to make it too low where people might be tempted to create multiple accounts.


There was a small closed beta with people willing to send BTC for testing transactions, and the game. I am always open to feedback beta or not.

We are more than 50% through this first round and have so far given away .144 BTC in Bonuses!

I promised something for the 2nd and 3rd place winner, and I've posted it in the OP. After much thought, 2nd and 3rd place players will be added automatically into the next round without having to pay. However, because there was no payment, they will not be eligible for the core prize. From many messages (Thanks for everyone's input) from players in the game that there should be more prizes for players in the game so I will be doing a poll on what we should be doing for Round 3 and going forward.

Any input is appreciated and will be considered.


Please feel free to say what you think and give your input:

1. Remove the Rage Bonus.

This will allow an extra 55% to give away to the #1 alliance, and #1 galaxy.


2. Lower the entry price.

I've had one or two people say that 0.01 is too much, and should be 0.001 - 0.002.

Currently, 2 people is a large % of players currently playing, so I am taking this into consideration but want to see if anyone else feel's the same.

I've been interested in playing this game....However, I have no idea what its like and if I will be good or not.

Also- It seems like it is a game where the more you play the higher your score will be, so what incentive do people have to join late during the week? 

.01 does seem a bit much...heck I would really like to try it out but I don't want to get in now because I feel I would just lose the .01....

I watched a player in just a few days go from the smallest to #6... He's got a chance to win the core prize even though he's started 50% into the round.

It's true, the longer you wait to join the round, your chances do go down to winning, however even after joining 50% late you can do a few things that can give you an advantage.

At the rate of players signing up to play, you most likely will NOT get the Rage Bonus.

Here's a few points you can take into considerations for this round. Otherwise, there's always round 2 that starts in a few day's  ;)

1.
You can practice for round #2, so when it starts, you know exactly what you'd need to do.

2.
The top 5 players are currently constantly under attack, there are over a dozen different strategy's that could be used to get into the top 3 even after 50% of the round is over.

I agree , there needs to be some incentive for players to join late, I had an idea that player could join on the last day for 15% fee or something like that? that way they can get some practice in for next round cheaply, and also it would bump up the Core prize a little bit on the last day?



That's great about 2nd and third prizes , I wonder could it be set up so that 2nd and 3rd place get some kind of "free entry credit" instead of automatic entry into next round, I mean so that it doesn't need to be used on the very next round,  cos top players might want to take a break in between rounds. :)


Im not too bothered about lowering the entry fee as it makes the core prize grow quicker @ 0.01, but if it would suit more people , how about something like halving the entry fee to 0.005btc, I think 0.001 would be too low to ever get any kind of decent core prize, I want to see the core prize get to 1BTC soon! :)  I think removing the Rage Bonus is a good idea, and I think it would be cool to put a higher % of the fee into the core prize.

I also like the idea No.1 alliance prize, not so sure about No.1 Galaxy prize, as the player has no control over which other players are in their galaxy, so it would just be kind of random prize?

Nothing has changed as far as Rage Bonus or Core Prize.

The only thing that has changed is 2nd and 3rd place winners get a free round.

A quick question, does the rage bonus extra money all go to you?  Also I mean how much do you make on this game?


By my calculations there should be roughly .07 in the core prize fund and there is only .028.

Are you taking roughly 70% of the money for yourself and 30% is given to the winner?

Trying to figure out this game - what is it based on?  Chance or skill?  If skill, is it a strategy game or is it based on clicking/pressing keys faster than someone else?

It is a game like ogame.

From every payment to the game 55% goes to the Rage Bonus, and 20% goes towards the Core Prize.

You can do the math on what I take (I also use to pay for transaction fee's for the winners, etc)


There are two parts to it:

1. The Core Prize is going to take skill and time to strategize to be #1.
2. Rage Bonus is pretty much chance on when you join.

You cant create more roids from that page, you can only initialize them on that page, really you should not have initiated your first 3 roids to only crystal, when I played I initiated 1 metal, 1 crystal and 1 eonium, anyway for now, to gain more roids you have 2 options:

1. From the Waves page, you can create asteroid scans, then you can scan nearby sectors for uninitiated roids, (its possible you will need to do some research/construction before you can create asteroid scans)

2. Build astropods and a supporting fleet, and use it to attack other players to steal their roids.

This early into the game you would probably be better off doing some scans, as you wont be able to create much of a fleet with only 3 crystal roids.  Good luck! :)

Please follow the startup guide (Toolbox -> Startup Guide).. It will guide you step by step for someone new to show them how to scan for more astroids, and get your planet going.


What DeViL303 mentioned (Quoted Below) is another way to do it... He has experience and played the last round. The guide is just to show you the basics, but you are free to try other strategies.
