BREAKING NEWS

This coming week the Sync Foundation has authorised the Sync Team

to begin implementation testing for the Sync Customized colored coin system to work within the Sync Block chain.

This is to be done before wrapping in an API and exposing the system via the website (Sync loyalty Rewards)

the Sync Customized colored coin system will allow the deposit and withdrawal of reward points and sync coins on the site.

Colored coins are designed to let users trade anything on the sync network such as

the issue of securities and tokens of any kind such as

shares, bonds, tickets, private currencies, smart property, etc.

Users will also be able to send, receive and trade on the new built-in

decentralized exchange

This system will come with it's own wallet.

I highly recommend a link to the old thread. It has a lot of useful information and history in it, as well as it just looks good to not even appear to be hiding anything.

Aside from that, lookin' good! You two have been the coin's primary cheerleaders for a good while. Glad to see it made official.

how to start a self-moderated topic?

i don't understand your question?
the original thread was self moderated as well??

The main reason for self moderation is to have some control
on outrageous behaviour, hate speech and attacks on comuniyt members.

Nothing more and nothing less

Can someone tell me if my sync are lost forever?  I attempted to send some sync from my mac wallet earlier today to bittrex but i did not realize until a few hours later that I was using an older mac wallet (downloaded 3 weeks ago).  After contacting bittrex they pointed out that the txid isn't in the blockchain, which I checked the explorer and its not there.   And now after updating to mac wallet v1.0.4.0 its stuck synchronizing on block 94391.  the wallet transaction details has it confirmed: Status 184 confirmations.  Did I just lose 1 sync? Any help would be appreciated.

First make a backup of your wallet.dat file in a safe place!

Navigate to Help/ Debug Window / Console

In console type "repairwallet" without the quotes.

If this doesn't work, you may have to re-download the whole blockchain again - I have had to do this on a couple of occasions. Your SYNC should be fine though.  ;)

Please note: this shift has been very profitable for both scrypt and especially x11. (BTC/million shares!)

is it possible to have an automated update for the wallet? it is really confusing to manually update the wallet every month before the fork.

that would be awesome.

also a detailed explanation about how SYNC is ASSET BACKED would be nice. It is known but i don't really understand what it means and how it actually works in the reality.

thank you

Nites an extremley busy dude so i'll run your question by him
but it may take a little while to get a yes or no answer from him
after all hes not being paid to do this.

As for how asset backing works i'm not entirely sure myself
so i'll have to look into that its a bonus as far as i'm concerned
but i'll update the op when i get the info 8)

Having a lot of trouble getting my mac wallet synced/staking. I have 1.0.4., and there is a wallet.dat folder that appeared on my desktop when I restarted after installing the QT. However, there is no /Sync folder in Library/Applicationsupport/. The instructions are pretty vague from there on in the ANN. My wallet is out of sync, my test transaction has not arrived though it exists in the blockchain. Any help would be much appreciated, and I would be happy to tip if it is successful. I have 3 sync and I am trying to get in the rewards program so I'm kind of stressing the mysterious deadline. Thanks for any help.

from what i understand of the mac version
and i have a windows one only so do make copies of your dat file everywhere
place this conf code in the same place as where you find your wallet.dat file
then replace the wallet.dat file with your saved one if you are starting from scratch.

Thats how i get the windows version to work although it is found in a different location to the
one below

Mac Go to ~/Library/Appication Support/sync[/color] and download

Sync.conf

server=1
listen=1
rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=pass
rpcport=24240
addnode=107.170.51.29
addnode=107.170.206.182
addnode=192.241.244.198

Code:

p2pport=24241
rpcport=24240

If this works for you then you can thank us by voing for sync at btc38
if not ask someone who has a mac version but still vote for sync anyway!  ;)

If this works for you then you can thank us by voing for sync at btc38
if not ask someone who has a mac version but still vote for sync anyway!  ;)

Thanks, unfortunately the wallet.dat file was on my desktop. I created a folder in /Library/Application Support/ and called it sync, then put the wallet.dat and a text file called Sync.conf with the above text in it, however the wallet still does not sync nor respond any differently when opened. Thanks for your help, though.

thats exactly why i keep pushing for new markets in asia
vote at btc38 we are at no 3 currently and they will be adding a new coin
anyday now.

I've personally added over 3 syncs to my personal tally at these rock bottom
prices and i don't know what everyone else is waiting for? ;D

When this sucker pops over 1.5 btc it will be a good payday for me
but those that don't take advantage simply lose out, easy money
as the weak hands are folding. this coin is a long term coin
not a pump and dump coin.

what more is there to say :P

Yesterday : 488 pages.
Today : 2 pages, like a new scam coin. Everything to re-build. No visibility for new investors, big confidence loss, information "lost"...

488 pages were 488 assets too, like domainnames.
Posting actively is the way for a community to support a coin.

Please unlock the old thread.
Else, link the old thread in the OP ! (Edit : Done)

Thanks

All of a sudden, I seem to be having issues with my mac wallet   :-\

I upgraded it to v1.0.4.0

My current blocks is stuck at 0 and will not move.

I tried, deleting everything and starting a fresh copy (without deleting wallet.dat) but still my current block does not move from 0.

Number of connections to wallet are healthy.

I tried opening the wallet with and without Sync.conf file.

I tried different internet connections but no difference. Wallets from other coin seem to work.

Any idea why? Thanks

Did you try removing wallet.dat from the directory (copy it to the desktop or other safe place), open the wallet - see if it syncs, then copy your wallet.dat back to the active directory? Probably won't change anything, but it's worth a try.

@team,

Is there any kind of bounty left for SYNC? I want to try and get as many SYNCcoin as possible.

So far, I have been able to only buy & gather 0.35 SYNC so far (right from when the coin was launched) due to my financial situation. It will take me a lot of time to join any of the programs. I want to hold SYNC for a long time, but also want to enrol in any of the programs first.

Don't take this as gospel, because I'm the opposite of an expert, but I think that you should be able to run the daemon under linux on the pi. You won't have coin control that way, but you could run the qt wallet on another machine and the daemon's wallet will update as long as they are the same wallet.dat file.

Where I'm uncertain on this is whether the pi can hold the blockchain. I think it should be able to, but you might need external storage.

Tried again v1.0.4.0 from the above link. The same issue.

I started from a fresh copy with new wallet and block chain. This is what I get. 0 blocks and the syncing icon at bottom right does not show up. Estimated total blocks is also way off.

Now I used the old block chain and wallet that I had saved. The current blocks is still at 0 but now I can see the syncing icon at bottom right but the current block number does not change from 0. Estimated total blocks is correct.

TOO EXCLUSIVE... (This is not meant as FUD just a thought provoking question, please educate me)

Has anyone considered the potential danger of this coin becoming too exclusive?  Right now approximately 90 percent of the coins rest with the top 100 addresses.  That really limits the number of people I Can trade with especialy if you consider that roughly 30 of those addys are on the 3 coin bubble to qualify for profits meaning i dont think those addys will let go of any coins..

I only bring this up as a discussion point as to whether or not the supply of coins is beneficial long term or if the threshold for profit share and whale status is set too high.

Im already deeply investedin this coin sodont get me wrong, im thinking about others trying to reach these levels in the future.  I dont want people to lose heart tryng to accumulate synvc to reach these levels.

I understand it is a balancing act obetween  exclusivity and  coin price.  Is the general thinking that coins will disperse to a wider audience oncecwe reach a 3, 5 , 10 btc price?

I know my instinct will be to hold and never let go especially once that first profit share btc hits my wallet.

So my question is does anyone see the coin supply and dispersment an issue considering the levels needed to enjoy the higher end benefits?

If so what should we do?

Bottom line... I love this coin and I want more and more people to love it too!

yes in my opinion everyone will have their sell price
the question is not price but market. This coin has not even been
announced to the asian market yet.
I suspect that as the price rises so others will sell,
what we will see is the big players come in and try maniupulates the weak hands
with some false violent market moves downwards in order to panic the weak hands
here i'm assumng is where the foundation protection fund kicks in to stabalise the
market

Ofcourse i could be completley wrong, but at the end of the day this coin is no different from any other
just because its 1000 does not mean that  the divisible smaller numbers will not take on a meaning of their own

much like like in the old days when a pound note was equavillent to todays 1K and the mere tuppence or pence or cent
ia equivalent to todays 10 pounds or 10 dollars if you like.

Simply because its a digital currency the divisibility takes care of what you are afraid of.

I think maybe it is perception on my part.  I see the crypto community as predominantly littlefish playing with lunch money rather than serious investors playing with part of their portfolio.  I think we are going after the latter and down the rosd these folks will have to pay dearly to get three coins from my clutches.

I wonder in the event of a massive price appreciation,  if the foundation will consider releasing more coins through an increased staking interest period.  I liken it to a stock split, more shares (coins) equaling lower per coin price but more people getting the opportunity to reach the 3 and 7 coin levels.

I guess alternately they could just change the # of sync coins needed to join the various programs.

Interesting to think about anyway.

Coinprism is a web frontend to the ngccc wallet.Their explorer ( https://www.coinprism.info/ ) is probably pulling information from ngccc into a database then displaying from there. We should be able to do this too.

RPCC would function on the Sync Website same way https://www.coinprism.com/ was implemented but users will be able to withdraw RPCC from the website to client wallet in their computer.

RPCC- Reward Point Colored Coins will be the in-house currency apart from Sync and the value will be pegged to USD since it will be used to buy items in the Sync marketplace.

You will be able to create your own colored coins on sync blockchain and trade it in the decentralized exchange.

Those are great questions. Yes, the Foundation will release coins in certain instances if we see the need to supplement inventory.

In principle it is a simple one, supply and demand. We have been reducing supply while increasing demand. And we'll keep increasing demand in heavier doses until Sync reaches its fair market value, which is currently around $1500 each.

And it will get there and beyond if holders valuate and appraise it correctly.

Youngg,

Another question i have for the foundation,  I believe we have approximately 1M in assets backing the coin which to my understanding were donated,  is there a mechanism to increase this value by acquiring new assets?  Are you relying solely on donations or is there some other vehicle within  the sync ecosystem that can generate new assets and\or drive existing  asset value up?

It's been donations so far which has been enough but the Stability Fund is the other vehicle to acquire assets. Assets mean 'stability' so we are not opposed to using the Fund for that purpose, as investment in future growth.

But there are still donated items yet to be announced, hold tight... ;D

You literally just described Bitcoin. :o So judging by its success no it is not "Too Exculsive".  ;D

if you want also to be in top 10/top 100, you just buy more SYNC. There will be always sellers!, even the top 10 people at some point will sell, so you certainly will be able to gain a certain amount of SYNC. There will be always a top 10 with most coins, buth the wallets where they are will certainly move.

I expect in the future, when the price keeps rising, the spread of the coins over more wallets will increase and maybe the minimum to become a whale will reduce as well. But for now, just buy as much as you want to have. Liquidity is high enough.!

I am just waking up and still a bit groggy. Anyway, I just read a review of http://multigateway.org/:

Would something like this benefit SYNC?

Save wallet.dat somewhere. Rename the folder(the folder with wallet.dat, NOT the folder with the qt) from "Sync" to "Sync-old". Run the qt. It'll start fresh with a new wallet and will synchronize with the blockchain. Once it's all caught up, close the wallet and replace the wallet.dat file in the new "Sync" folder with the backed up wallet file. When you next open the wallet, all should be well.

My mac wallet still will not sync for staking. I've tried everything I can think of, have created a "Sync" folder in /Library/Application Support/ that contains wallet.dat, Sync.conf, and bootstrap.dat. At no point does the 1.0.4. QT recognize/react to any of this when opening. Time is ticking and the lack of solution is bumming me out. A couple knowledgeable people have tried to help me but all find the sync ann instructions pretty vague. Once again thanks for any help.

After the Voot blow up they figured it was best of Mscollec to step down(at least be less visible). The SYNC foundation is running SYNC so he was not really needed other then to update the OP. That is my understanding of it.

ms collec will forever be the creator and developer of Sync coin
however he is now working behind the scenes and is part of the
sync foundation just as we all are as sync holders.
I have resumed the OP and PR responsablities together with
Lt Cagt who is away at the moment i believe.

I'm sure that he reads the new thread as well as posts
on it just as he did yesterday.

In my opinion it was not really necessary for him to stop
being community PR as i could care less about voot
and their fudders but this decision was taken and we
will have to stand with it.

As for Mac users and noobs with sync wallet problems
we will try and help you if we can however since mac
users are in the minority here it would seem it would
probably be better to go through the old thread for
suggestions to your problems.

The link to the old thread is Right at the bottom of
the new OP. Being a windows user myself i would not
know how to begin to help mac users.

I know nothing about macs, but cant you just search for a folder? After the 1st time you open the wallet, SOMEWHERE a folder is created named "Sync". Inside that folder is where your wallet is and where the conf file goes. So my suggestion for mac users is open the wallet then close it, then search your computer for a folder named "Sync", or even search for location of file "Sync/wallet.dat".

The old sync thread with 488 pages is linked in the first post.
The wallet may not be able to find the location of the directory you created.
I am running the wallet on Windows, but the way to go is after downloading the Qt zip file and unpacking the wallet,
to simply run it (it will likely not be able to sync) and close it once it shows its main screen.
Then find where the Qt has created the directory with the wallet.dat file.
For Windows, this is the directory for the Users data: users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\sync
in that same directory, add the sync.conf file with the contents that is shown in the first posting as configuration.
Then my Qt wallet started syncing immediately upon restart.
Success!

Something else, and this doesn't just apply to Mac users. If you are having a problem with the defaults, for whatever reason, you can start the qt file with the switch -datadir <foldername>. put your wallet and .conf file in that folder, and it will load and sync there.

I don't know how to do shell scripts or batch files in OS/X, but in Windows/DOS you'd just make a file called something like sync.bat that has exactly one line in it:
sync-qt -datadir=<foldername> and it will launch from that folder every time.

Yep. Not a fan of people not coming over here. It was probably better to just keep the old one alive and have MScollec update the OP. Oh well
