People i know that some of you are behind this wild selling. But I would like to point to you that we still have a lot of ways to go with bitcoin. And selling at this point would only make the road tardier. We have a goal, to jump 1,000 dollars and beyond. This is my dreams and yours, we have a dream people. If you sell now at these prices you would be giving up on that dream.

Surely this selling has got to stop, it's confusion. I know it's everyone on it's own, and that it's a free market full of competition, but let's unite for a common goal. This common goal which is of us all. No is a powerful word, say NO to selling at these prices, refuse. If we all unanimously refuse, if we all stand resolute at this hour of adversity we'll bring value back into bitcoin.

To buyers

You have to protest, protest against this market, set your buy orders high, high into the sky, up at 2,000 and above, refuse to buy any lower, show the market that bitcoin has more value than this and that you are ready to pay great sums, take one for the community. This attitude of cannibalizing on others fears and feeding on others angsts hinders bitcoin's growth.

imho, there are far too many unscrupulous people out there with way too fat of a bitcoin bag...not to mention this BitLicense situation having everybody in the US pretty much shaking in their boots!

And your comment about buyers shows you're not very informed on how the buying works. When buying through an exchange the actual buyer has zero control over setting a higher purchase price, the exchange controls what price they pay and they're not going to take a loss simply to support the desires of people holding their wealth in it.

The market needs to remain fair...sellers will push the price down and buyers will push the price up and an increasing level of transactions will stabilize the price to it's rightful level.

I think that you have to understand something here.
Your advices may be good for ''big'' players (who can play how they want) but for small people, with 1 BTC or less, who are selling it to pay their bills, your advice is not helpful.
Also, such small players can't really influence Bitcoin price much.
Regarding buyers, everybody want the highest value for their money, so everybody with clever mind will try to buy with the lower price possible and sell for highest price possible.
Excpect otherwise is little naive here.
We still don't live in the ideal world.

@Bitlicense explanation: No good, I think. Bitcoin's been a confused but closely-watched (by regulators) mess for years in the US. It can't really get worse outside maybe a flat-out ban. Maybe Eurasians worry about US regulators' influence, but I don't think buyers here are terribly worried by it, except maybe on principle. I'd argue the cause is ?, the same cause for many BTC crashes and rallies. OTOH, falllilng successfully crystal-balled this one. :D

No offense to OP, and I get that what you're trying to do is very noble, but trying to stop people from selling by posting a thread on a forum is like trying to stop a dam from collapsing with a toothpick and a piece of bubble gum. The market will fluctuate as it chooses to and there is nothing we as individuals can do about it. :P

This is not gonna help much..! You can't manipulate the price with a single post no matter how powerful platform bitcointalk is but its reach is restricted compared to btc.

The price of a bitcoin should reflect its supply and demand, and not the manipulation attempted by the OP in order to further his/her own interests.

It is supply and demand. We do not listen to "your demands" by supplying our bitcoins. We do what we want. Please don't say these weird posts by saying we should all hold and blah blah. It iwll never happen quit having pipe dreams and this is exactly what bitcoin is against. COLLUSION is never the answers, STOP TRYING TO GET PEOPLE TO COLLUDE.

For some strange reason I seriously doubt that the OP will have any impact on the market. The price is set by supply and demand as it should be. As the price falls, more people will have incentives to buy bitcoin as they can buy at low prices.

You are targeting the wrong audience maybe

I think the most affected are those making mining rigs, if price drops, their mining rigs can not be sold thus they have to mine by themselves, if price continuously decline, they will never be able to break even. So it is their best interest to protect the exchange rate

Exchange rate rose by 50x but the real demand never grow that fast, current demand mostly comes from speculation and speculation demand usually disappear when price drops

Unlike foreign currency exchange, where there are market makers and central banks stabilize the exchange rate, there is no one stabilize bitcoin exchange rate, so it is very sensitive to speculation, not supply and demand

It is not small time retail seller and buyer causing the price meltdown.

Why don't you check out the Ethereum crowd and tell them not to dump the remaining 10k BTC into the market.

Better yet, ask people not to invest their bitcoin in Ethereum which will eventually be sell to the market by the developers.

-due to the high inflation of the bitcoin its very hard to have a stable uptrend.

If everyone cumulatively refused to buy and/or sell at sub-$2000, you will still get at least one guy who sets his bid/ask at $1999.  Then you get someone in at $1998, then $1997, etc.  This would continually happen until we get to the price we're at now.

As long as we have a few thousand people with a decent income that believe in bitcoin there can only be one ending... Do not give up.  If 10 000 of us keep buying eventually we will get all of the coins from the weak hands...  HODL them don't listen to this spend shit.. don't spend it at places that instant change to fiat bad, bad boy.

It is what it is friend.  I like that your passionate for the value of BTC but people will do what they want.  Many will likely make the wrong decision and not hodl and buy more at lower prices.

You realize this is ridiculous right?  I'm as concerned by the price drop as anyone but you can't post high buy orders most exchanges will automatically execute them at a lower price.

Not sure if trolling, but you might as well ask them to light money on fire.  Simply asking them to buy more btc would help a lot.

Well, this is also good for people who dont have bitcoins, they can buy now for a lower price before it goes up again.

Bitcoin in the real world is something new ( i know it excist for a few years already ). Let it drop a bit, let new people enjoy the good things from bitcoin.

I don't sell any bitcoin till i can pay my house every month with bitcoins, till i can pay the electricity bill with bitcoins, till i can pay everything i buy right now with bitcoin.

I'm not a bitcoin supporter so i can sell bitcoins for euro's.. That's not where the bitcoin is made for.. I still hate ( well not really hate, because it's every one owns choice ) the people who want earn dollars / euro's / whatever with bitcoin.. That will kill bitcoin, because its an alternative for the dollar / euro.

I would say, let the price drop some more, so new people can step on board without paying 600 / 1200 dollars for 1 coin.

There is no reason to believe it is better to buy bitcoins at $1 than it is to buy them at $1000. If the price doubles in a year, then you will make the same amount in either case. There is also no reason to believe that a price at $1 is more likely to double than a price at $1000. It's all relative.

Instant changing to fiat isn't necessarily a huge problem - it provides liquidity at market prices. Companies that amass large quantities of bitcoin and then exchange to fiat in bulk can impact markets though, so beware of those.

What good is getting more BTC if it is worth less? What would you rather have -- 1000 BTC at $1 each or 1 BTC at $1000 each? The current price is irrelevant. Either way, if the price doubles you will double your money and the result is the same.

look. you can get some people to do this but in the end the whale does what the whale wants. you cant waste your time trying to get other people to listen to you on this. just try and do something else. no one in the bitcoin world really stands together on anything, we are DECENTRALIZED dude... by trying to collude like this are you any better then OPEC or the FED? cmon now...

Why on Earth would anyone pay more for something than they have to? If people are panic selling at what someone believes to be low prices, why would anyone who thinks btc is worth more than the current market price not buy at the low price? You're just talking crazy, man!

I also think you fail to take into account that btc is a lot less run by individuals now and Wall Street has a lot more influence here. When bitcoin exploded last year, it got a lot of attention from hedge funds who were looking for an easy bubble to ride. There has been a lot of institutional investment in bitcoin assets in the past 12 months, both the currency and the businesses built around bitcoin. These macro changes in price have a lot more to do with things that none of us have any control over than people who post things like "don't sell at these prices" would dare to guess.

I'm sure we'd all love a higher price. I'd prefer a stable lower price over a wildly fluctuating price myself. But it's really not a thing we can control. If you think bitcoin is undervalued, don't tell people to stop selling. Start buying.

I don't think you understand how a free market works.

Right now Bitcoin is $347 because both sides agree this is a fair price for Bitcoin.

The end-game is not 1 BTC = $X USD. It's when people are getting paid their salaries in bitcoin and 1 BTC = a kilo of onions, or a week's groceries, or a tank of petrol, or a yacht or whatever the hell we agree to exchange it for.

why would i buy bitcoin at 2k when the price is 300?
when i first took up bitcoin, the price was around 650 now the price isnt half of that

i think miner just dump that to pay electricity bill , and i dont see big whale ready to pump this price.

Momentum is a funny thing. When everyone is selling, it causes people to panic and increases the likelihood they will also sell. When people start buying faster than selling again, people will see the price rise and confidence will be restored. But the problem in a free fall is stopping the initial fall and restoring confidence. Perception can be a powerful thing, and right now people are seeing reasons to panic. If you're confident in bitcoin's long-term prospects, now's probably the time to buy.

50% drop in a couple of months... Although the price can go lower, I see a floor forming at $300. Now we have to wait for some serious buying to happen and the price moving in the opposite direction.
