An overclocked S3 will use right around 30A on the 12V rail. This PSU can supply 108A, which is enough for 3 Ants.

Read the guidelines of BITMAIN. There is a possibility you destroy your miner. You may ask yourself, is it worth to try? That PSU may only be able to handle 3 Ants when they're OC'd (and pull 30A), but you may be able to squeeze 4 in there if you run at stock clocks and are only pulling 25A per ant. Actually, if you log into the S3s, there's an even lower than stock speed at 212MHz, which would ensure that you're under 25A/ant, which would let you power all 4 on that PSU. It's really simple. I take it back. :PThanks.. Looking at the pictures of the PSU was tripping me up. The specs say it has 8 pcie connections but I was only seeing 4 connections(modular). There are 4 leads that come out of the PSU that each have 1 PCIe and there are 2 leads that each have 2 PCIe connectors so that equals 8. The leads are pretty thick guage as compared to cheaper PSUs leads. I have my Antminer S3 Overclocked and the leads arent hot to the touch. I am using the leads that have a single PCIe to power the S3 but I did try the 2 leads that had 2 PCIe connectors and the miner still ran fine and the leads still werent that warm. I just figured that using the leads with 1 connector was the best bet for now though since I was Over clocking. This PSU is also barely warm when running. So far I love this PSU. I just wish the leads were a bit longer. I will be running an S3(OCed to 375), An S3+(OCed when it arrives) and an OCed S1. I may try running a gridseed 80G Blade as well. Hoping this PSU will hold out. |
