It's really simple. An overclocked S3 will use right around 30A on the 12V rail. This PSU can supply 108A, which is enough for 3 Ants.
cool thanks.... what would happen to 1/2 of a 4th antminer if connected, if possible. would it mine without the other side being connected? Is it too much? or simply cant be done because of pcie connections
I would be sure to unplug the unused side completely from inside the case if you were gonna do that. As long as you were only powering the side that also had the controller, it should work... *should*.
If you're that pressed for power, DON'T overclock. That PSU may only be able to handle 3 Ants when they're OC'd (and pull 30A), but you may be able to squeeze 4 in there if you run at stock clocks and are only pulling 25A per ant.
Actually, if you log into the S3s, there's an even lower than stock speed at 212MHz, which would ensure that you're under 25A/ant, which would let you power all 4 on that PSU.
