Title: Bitcoin Scam Alert...I GOT TAKEN
Post by: JessyMatt on September 01, 2014, 05:52:27 PM
About a week ago I got taken by a false person representing a large bitcoin site selling guest posts. The biggest bitcoin scam (http://www.bitcoinvalues.net/bitcoin-scam-alert-list-current-bitcoin-scams-scammers.html) going on out there. See my story so you don't fall victim to this also. On the site, be sure to add to the list of bitcoin scams you know going on or you were a victim of like me!

Never believe in any of quick money schemes even having having bitcoin doesn't make you quick money either it's your green that leads to such scams. Why can't you just use google before investing/sending coins to any unknown sites or person ??

Quick money schemes are the worst and that is why I feel myself that people jump to use them because they promise so much. You can get excited knowing you may make so much amount of money and miss the simple things that could have saved you from being scammed. It's a shame you were scammed however it's a lesson learned.

I would also very much disagree that your story is that of the biggest bitcoin scam, as it is likely much closer to the smallest.

Welcome to the club. everyone here has been taken by a scammer at some point, in one way or another.

i personally turned a 10k investment into 150 dollars.  :-\

You got 6 options:

1.cut your losses and stay away from bitcoin either for good or until its regulated, if that ever happens.
2.go to the authorities and be told there is nothing they can do
3.buy some bitcoins and hold them until its regulated or they are worth alot of money.
4.Attempt to find the scammer and get even
5.Forget about it and move on
6.Create your own scam to recoup your losses

My experience of bitcoin is about that. Someone scams you and so you scam others to get your money back, then you end up getting taken again on another scam and the cycle continues until you can't look at yourself in the mirror anymore. Bitcoin was started by some nerds who may have had good intentions but its been mostly consumed with greed ever since then.

My advice:

Find the scammer and get even, then stay away from bitcoin until it has federal regulations and real consequences for thieves and scammers.

It wasn't a quick money making scheme. It was a offer for buy a guest post from a bitcoin site. If you read the story you will see that they simply replaced an 's' with a 'z' in the domain name which I overlooked and they used the example name of the person who owns that site which I know!

Quick money schemes are the worst and that is why I feel myself that people jump to use them because they promise so much. Yikes! You can never be too careful with bitcoins.
I didn't spot the difference in the email id either when I first looked at it.

As OP mentioned,
- It is not quick money scheme
- OP tried to verify the site but failed due to confusing email address with a "known site".

....Does everyone respond with just the title  ??? ??? ???

Sorry to hear about your bad luck.  0.2 BTC is not the end of the world though.  Buy some while they are cheap and you will recoup your investment and more

In the crypto world there are really many scammers so the first rule is "don't trust anyone", being scammed is really easy nowadays.
