Wow this coin sure will be hard to mine. I'm not fussed about the premine. The thing is with 1 year PoW and block reward of only 10, price will need to be pretty high once the coin is on an exchange. Otherwise a lot of miners might be put off if they can't cover their costs for months. But I guess it's a gamble like any other. If it generates enough interest in the early stages, it could go really far. Anyways I'm gonna point my small miner at it and see how things go  :)

not sure but dont use hashlink, 2 coins in a row i have been robbed by them. they are done. i rented nicehash and had auto turned on the coins never went to my wallet. but the 5 coins i mined after my nicehash came. so they took the bulk of my mining. i would say stick with suchpool or anything but hashlink. they made off with a bunch of ltcd of mine too. so i guess now im going to dedicate my sig to scampools. nothing pisses me off more than pools stealing my shit.

I have patience but for me personally its more to the point that coins without an exchange show no value and it makes me feel better to dedicate miners towards value I can see. If its in the works I can wait.  ;)

i need to leave comment on this, what do you think what value can pow coin have on day 2 from launch :-)  i contacted some exchanges already but also prefer to be more patient, there are still many things which needs to be done, my intention is to tune Cetus into perfection related to all basics which every coin needs, then we can move onto adding unique features, we are on very early stage, PoW lasts one year so can be distributed very well, i'm sure later when rentals disappear also small miners will have chance to accumulate enough CETI's, i suggest to non-traders just to collect and hold ceti's, there is long way to go yet :-)

Don't get me wrong Dev, I don't mean to seem to be rushing you and I fully understand your motives and reasons and I applaud you for putting the coins future value above immediate gain. What it means for me though, and likely many other miners, is that I will only direct a very small portion of my hashrate to the coin and continue to hope for long term value, as I have already done. I like to see values rise like anyone else but value isn't really value if you can't do anything with it. Again though, I have patience. Keep coding value into my coins.   ;D

About the PoS poll i don't think you need to increase the block reward. Here are my objections to that;

#1 it isnt fair to the people that already mined this coin for the last 3 weeks
#2 is isnt fair to the people that already bought coins @ exchanges keeping in there minds that there would be only 10m coins
#3 i think (imho) that a coin with 10m coins would be more profitable then a coin with 100m coins.

hi, there has been quite silence but ceti is hashing quite nicely thanks to all supporters, i would like to share some updates on progress and future plans. Let's forget about PoS issue for a while as people here have patience, that's good :) Currently there is wallet redesign going on, test win&mac versions available also POD is still in progress. Plans for upcomig weeks are to finish all details on website and forum to get ready to promote Cetuscoin widely. More far future plans are Android and IOS wallets and there are plans once PoW ends but that i will keep in secret for now. I'd like to hear from you what features you would like to be integrated in Cetuscoin, feel free to start topic on forum if you have questions or ideas.

Curious as to why the only options on the poll are either to wait/do nothing or to increase the block reward. Is there a reason why block reward can't stay at 10 if PoS starts sooner? Can't we cut total supply in order to reduce length of PoW phase instead? Seems like that should be a poll option.

Increasing block reward will only dilute the value of the coins that those of us who have been mining diligently have already minted. Any increase in block reward will almost certainly be met with a proportional increase in network hashrate, favoring those who start mining after increase rather than those of us who have already been mining. Math.

I see they offer the software " Android Studio" that any one can download , to  the make the Android Wallet your self , if  it works out, can save money ..


   

 The windows wallet crashes when the wallet closes down. It only does that if when the little info window is open. If you unlock the wallet for staking it closes normally but always crashes if the info window/box is open. If you close the little window/info box first then close the wallet it does not crash.

Nice. Now all you need to do is fix the windows wallet from crashing when the info box is popped up. If you close that window first it does not crash on close but if it is open and you close the wallet it will crash.

what do you mean? PoS will kick in later, when coin supply is sufficient.

Don't be negative people, it's such great milestone for Cetuscoin. And bright future ahead :)

  Save your wallet.dat file  and try reinstall the wallet  , my  windows wallet does not crash been running fine for 2 months now  Let me know if this helps

Fixed an issue with the site refresh, its working now

My wallet opens fine. Send and receives coins good. It does crash when the info window is popped up. If you turn staking on the info window closes and the wallet closes fine. It does crash when the info window is up and you close the wallet.

those are warnings which disappear when you unlock wallet, why would you have wallet opened while is locked, you can't send transactions neither stake.

I wanted to open the wallet to let it sync and check my balance. Then it crashed when I closed it. None of the other wallets that have that info pop up crash when they are not closed or the wallet unlocked. It's only a small flaw/bug that only those that do not unlock their wallet before closing it will have.

Cetuscoin is PoW/PoS hybrid, PoS should work along PoW there are few fixes planned which hopefully help PoS to kick in

Do you have a ballpark ETA? I'm looking to stake while continuing to mine. You had said something earlier about some wallet fixes? I'm not looking to P&D, but I've had plenty of experience with holding a coin for way to long that went nowhere. Hopefully this coin goes places--this is often indicated by forum activity but not always. I'm mining and holding atm.

Could we just change the wallet so PoW mining can continue?

POW phase ended on this coin 10/23/15 (it hit block 525,700).  POS phase has yet to start.  Since POW is done and POS isn't on, the chain cant move.

Noticed the dev last post was 3/7/15, so its safe to assume this coin is abandoned/dead. 

Found three working nodes for those that want to sync up to block 525,700, but for now it seems pointless to do that.

Wouldn't it be relatively simple to change a couple of lines of code, allow PoW to continue, and we can all update to the new version? 

Im just a simple miner but that does seems like a solution. Seen a few coins get community takeovers that resulted in many aspects, including mining algo changes.

Probably be simpler if dev came out from under his rock to switch POS on then slither back under his rock  ;D

I just LOVE it when someone launches a coin and then goes and hides under a rock indefinitely.

With all the competition among altcoins these days, any coin that's really a one man show should be avoided.
