Looks like it is such a success with more than 8 times the market cap of all other coins combined that it is positioned to dominate for the next 20-50 years minimum.

Actually, I've been kinda holding off until I really do see it go to the Moon. :P Failing that, I know it's a success because everybody's talking about it, even the ones who haven't "bitten" yet and don't quite seem to get what Bitcoin really is, plus looking around at all the merchants who already accept it.

Yep... Bitcoin will be viewed as a revolutionary change to the monetary system. It will be interesting to see how the traditional banking system incorporates bitcoin into their systems once they are forced to do so.

Yes, it is. Some people just want to focus in the short term price of bitcoin... missing everything what is happening outside.
If bitcoin community, services, businesses, utility... keeps growing like it is doing right now, price will follow sooner or later.

I was ready in 2013. I've already made so fucking much money with Bitcoin and bought back in to make more.

I think Bitcoin is becoming a huge success, it's not there yet, but everything is very promising, I still can't buy my Jewellery supplies and gemstones with Bitcoin yet.

That means that you've been successful with it, not that its been a success unto itself. There's a distinction. Lots of us have made lots of money via bitcoin, but that doesn't necessarily mean that bicoin itself is becoming successful.

I think bitcoin is a huge success, however the majority of people yet fail to see that. I predict even bigger success in the next comming month for bitcoin

If you had said then that by 2014 there would be this much adoption, you would have been called a daydreamer. By ME! lol.

I'm the only one that matters so it's very successful. LOL I really started believing Bitcoin would be around forever in late 2012, early 2013. That made me sell at the beginning of every panic sell off and buy back in at a stable bottom. We're nearing another stable bottom right now and I've been buying in 25 coin increments for every $20 drop in price starting at $440. Everyone else is just seeing what I've seen for a long time.

Longterm Bull too .... I'll continue buying for investment purposes at least till a 10k valuation per coin.

This is hilarious! haha ....and I'm in the same boat as you. I've poured more BTC back into the system building systems, buying services and bitcoin businesses.  Bitcoin is not going away!

We will force Bitcoin to become successful, even if we have to drag her kicking and screaming and make changes along the way.

Imagine what would have happened to the price if it was a bad year  :P :P

Seriously now besides some new companies opening up and some others expanding their businesses nothing really good happened.
The regulation is still unclear, more countries have banned bitcoin, mining is happening only in china and the software hasn't evolved a bit...

I think 2015 will be a good year though.

Just the other day I saw a post saying it's a complete failure... And now this...but to me it's not about success or failure... It's about the ability of the virtual currency to resolve our daily problems of hard currency.

From my noobie point of view, a coworker has been telling me about Bitcoin for ages now so I finally gave in and sent some money to BTC-e to buy my first Bitcoins. He told me to come here and I will find everything I ever wanted to know about Bitcoin.

I definitely see huge potential for Bitcoin and I am a good example of how word of mouth through friends, family and coworkers will really help Bitcoin spread.

I would have to think it can already be called a success. No telling how much more successful  it may get.

I admitted this a couple of years ago, when I bought my first miner.

a guy makes a system worth  billions of dollars and revolutionised the way payments
are made online totally bypassing the current banking systems  almost for free ??

some newbie can't understand that 1200 dollars, was the peak, not the actual price, bitcoin is returning to his normal rising with his current value, and fudders like to play on this to scare weak hands

BTC is already a huge success for people that invested heavily pre 2014.

I can't say it's a success for me because I've invested over 3000 GBP (not sure on the conversion to dollars) & I'm at a pretty bad loss right now.

I will be a long term hoarder but I'm down at least 30% with the current price at what it is.

From where BTC has come from it seems that it is already an overwhelming success.

I guess it all depends on where and how you invest your BTC

For those just entering the BTC realm, beware of doom & gloomers... they are often motivated by spreading fud to reduce price for their next purchase... or they are extremely short sighted.

For sure its a huge success.I lost too much in gamble but i like btc and i will never gamble again.

Seriously , in 2011 if someone had told the community that by Sept 2014 PayPal would be incorporating Bitcoin, you'd have been laughed out of the building.

Exactly, many people have no idea what the BTC economy was like a few years ago.

Like RodeoX has said - noone could have imagined such a huge adoption and infrastructure few years ago. You would get ban in 2011 for saying something like that : )

Every single day, the chances of Bitcoin becoming big (not just a niche market) are there.

Imagine what will happen with adoption rate when also price is going to do its thing. All the sideliners are gonna jump in. I can imagine 2015 is going to be crazy for Bitcoin.

I think we still have a very long ways to go.

We have gone from people essentially only holding/buying bitcoin for speculative purposes to having increasing number of people buying bitcoin to be able to spend it at stores/merchants.

What we need to see in the future is for businesses that accept bitcoin to start to pay their bills with bitcoin they receive from customers

I think the bitcoin market is still somewhat of a niche market, at least for now. I agree that we are moving away from being a niche and into being mainstream, however we have a long way to go before the adoption rate is anywhere near "main stream"

The bitcoin is a real success! A real revolution against this screwed system!

Absolute success there are still so many things we are yet to discover about BTC we have only just scratched the surface, best technological advance since the Internet!

Bitcoin was a success the moment more than one person used it to exchange value, because that was the moment it solved the byzantine general's problem.

I am not admitting anything, just think about what the things that BTC has done for you so far. Then you will be able to figure out the answer by yourself.

I was ready to admit this back in late '13. I actually believed it back then too. The problem is that most only look at the price.
What does the price tell us? How much an individual is willing to pay for 1 Bitcoin/what it is trading at. That's about it.
One should read news related to Bitcoin everyday, there are some interesting things often.
