how could it not be considered a sucess? a guy makes a system worth billions of dollars and revolutionised the way payments are made online totally bypassing the current banking systems almost for free ??

If something better comes along fixing all the apparent problems.

some newbie can't understand that 1200 dollars, was the peak, not the actual price, bitcoin is returning to his normal rising with his current value, and fudders like to play on this to scare weak hands

BTC is already a huge success for people that invested heavily pre 2014.
I can't say it's a success for me because I've invested over 3000 GBP (not sure on the conversion to dollars) & I'm at a pretty bad loss right now.
I will be a long term hoarder but I'm down at least 30% with the current price at what it is.

For those just entering the BTC realm, beware of doom & gloomers... they are often motivated by spreading fud to reduce price for their next purchase... or they are extremely short sighted.

Man, compared to where we were in 2011 this is all win!!!11!! If you had said then that by 2014 there would be this much adoption, you would have been called a daydreamer. By ME! lol. Great post coming from an early adopter. We need you guys around to help keep perspective. Seriously , in 2011 if someone had told the community that by Sept 2014 PayPal would be incorporating Bitcoin, you'd have been laughed out of the building. -B-

If we compared with 2011 and 2012, we have to say Bitcoin is a huge success. But in this year there was a lot of up and down in Bitcoin.

Exactly, many people have no idea what the BTC economy was like a few years ago.

It is mindblowing what Bitcoin has achieved in such a short time period. Mindblowing!
Like RodeoX has said - noone could have imagined such a huge adoption and infrastructure few years ago. You would get ban in 2011 for saying something like that : )
Every single day, the chances of Bitcoin becoming big (not just a niche market) are there.
Imagine what will happen with adoption rate when also price is going to do its thing. All the sideliners are gonna jump in. I can imagine 2015 is going to be crazy for Bitcoin.

I think we still have a very long ways to go. We have gone from people essentially only holding/buying bitcoin for speculative purposes to having increasing number of people buying bitcoin to be able to spend it at stores/merchants. What we need to see in the future is for businesses that accept bitcoin to start to pay their bills with bitcoin they receive from customers

Ha, agreed, but this thread was just created as a parody of a troll thread asking the same but if it was a failure. Obviously this thread is the correct one.
