Title: [Warning] Operation IPO Scam Cleanup
Post by: Spoetnik on October 19, 2014, 01:23:36 PM
I think it's time we started cleaning up the Altcoin scene of all these crappy scam coins !

http://i60.tinypic.com/1zev5us.jpg

So i want some ideas and i had one i heard from another guy that might work..
We can start an attack pool with anonymous login to attack some of these coins and 51% attack them ?
Anyone have server resources we can use for this and the experience for setting up stuff like Pools ?

but we need ideas on how to stop the IPO coins with no mining.. ideas anyone ?
maybe we can raise a bounty to expose these cowards making them ?
get enough money together and i bet they will get sold out by their eFriends !

We have to do something because this scam crap makes us all look like scammers and making Bitcoin look bad and pushing bad regulation on us.

3 dice sites went down lately too !

so it's not just gambling sites, pools and exchanges or online wallet providers.. and yes exchanges too !

but what can we do about them all ?

- warn people
- avoid them
- keep coins on your own pc

my problem is i think all of that crap is damaging to the entire crypto scene and Bitcoin's intrinsic value
and this also make us all look like scammers !

imagine you tell some stranger you are into crypto stuff and then they Google it..
they are prob going think your a new generation hipster digital-ponzi scheme scammer clown :(

ONE YEAR ago bitcoin had a horrible reputation every where i looked and this place did too !

When i came here over a year ago it was so bad i was not even sure i wanted to get involved
i said this before few times in the last year..

holy shit guys it's gotten waaaay worse since !
and back then there was like max 50 coins i think and now ?

now it's just a huge ass silly scam circus of IPO's and 12 yr old CEO brats and "foundations" ripping us off for Bitcoin.

so.. we need ideas on how we can stop this crap !

Easiest for me:

1 go thru the first 50 pages of altcoin announcements.

2 put all the ANN profiles on ignore. Takes about 3 days. usually they make a brand new account anyways, so you're not missing out on anything.

3 when you hear something interesting about the coin, take the account off of ignore

4 you're left with 49 pages of grey announcements, and one with blue ones

5 every time you log in, you get about 5-10 new announcements that are easy to spot. put those profiles on ignore unless it seems really cool (in your case, not ipo).

6 repeat

7 ?

8 profit of course. bonus points for going through 100+ pages of alt announcements, and combining steps 2 and 3.

Of course, this is just a passive resistance method. You seem to be looking to take an active one.

Is it possible to make a script to do this? Maybe someone could make one that just puts all those profiles on ignore?

The issue is mostly Bitcointalk forum, this forum is the place to be to pull off these bullshit scams, hundreds of thousand dollars have been made through scams through this site, the announcement section. I don't know if what this site is allowing is even legal?

bitcointalk should just ban all accounts and ips from users in China and Vietnam, those cat and dog eating yellows are responsible for the majority of scams in crypto imo

is Racism a rule ? scamming sure as hell isn't !

and did you have any pro-active ways to destroy IPO scam coins ?
oh wait shit sorry i completely forgot you just admitted to being one of the guys who makes them on another topic an hour ago..
bragging to me that you have many on the coinmarketcap site, one of them in the top 5 and many with a cap greater than 1 million dollars.
remember ? do you recall telling me how you would dump them on me ?

but thanks for your contribution to the topic and all your wonderful and useful IPO scam coins "CryptoJerk"
just a quick question.. well i will add it to the other 2 i already asked you..

What are the names of the coins you responsible for ?
What other names have you used in the crypto scene ?
And How can we stop YOU ?

People react with fear of loss, they want to invest early and make a return quickly regardless of how it is obtained.  It usually ends in someone being hurt whether it is the late arrival left holding the bag or a myriad of other possibilities.

Bitcointalk not doing anything shows that they are ok with scams. Maybe mods here have been involved in scamming people who knows. people are ignoring how much this forum plays a rol in scams being pulled. Allowing scams and people losing money is not ok and bitcointalk is the gateway for such things happening. Sooner or later regulators will close this site if it goes too far.

Lets not ignore the white elephants:

NiceHash

CryptoAsian

Bitcointalk

Unregulated Exchanges

Incompetent Mods, ahem, mprep not doing his job... because "moderators dont have time to be investigators" umm bullshit, you have to investigate in order to moderate, unless you are blindly swinging the hammer...

the only regulated exchange i know of is Plus500 (http://www.plus500.com/Download/MultiPlatformDownload.aspx?id=87806&pl=1), and thats more forex style, shorting bitcoin etc...

Twitter PnD groups - thats the biggest ponzi that perpetuates them all...

We have a technology here, that could efficiently redistribute resources on a global scale - and everyone is busy focusing on their own greed. It makes me sick, its like all the penny stock guys jumped ship for crypto

I agree the we can get around this by not investing in crap, but one surefire way to bring the regulation here regardless of whether or not we want it, is by endorsing some of the newest trends to come up.

Insane amounts of weed coins, and now we have a mushroom coin, is basically screaming for feds to come here and launch investigations.

Imagine how it would look if I was coming here for the first time and theres 20 different marijuana coins, 13 different mushroom coins, cocaine coins and herion coins, all running infrastructures designed to distribute drugs in countries that have outlawed them?

If these things take hold, I see this place as a breeding ground for them. I can almost guarantee either the board will die, be shutdown, or just 'left alone' and turned into a honeypot. Do you want any of those happening?

WTF happened with silk road? Now, a year later, people can come here and see active movements trying to build drug distribution infrastructures right on an open forum!

Yeah, right, that's gonna go over real fucken well.

We're seeing an active move from decentralized coins that arent really regulated, to decentralized coins trying to set up infractructures in the open for thing that are already heavily fucking regulated, and brought down SR. You think this board has a chance? Personally, I see honeypot INC.

Personally, apart from the obvious scamminess .. I would venture to say we're being set up.

Question is why most of users want to get scammed when there are already tons of threads literally warning against such so called IPO/ICO shit.

Alternative Cryptocurrency section should be removed from Bitcointalk but then the site owner would lose a lot of ad revenue. Bitcointalk owners are doing whats good for their bank accounts and not whats good for Bitcoin. Let the altcoins create their own sites and forums. The altcoin section has served its purpose and now its time for it to go.

I agree with you 100%, however as you pointed out, the alt section isn't going anywhere.

The altcoins that are actually succeeding already have their own forums and could survive without this one.

@Spoetnik: I can't offer technical resources but I can offer you spiritual ones... meaning I am with you "in spirit."

Altcoin section can stay, but the announcement section needs to go away, sometimes regulation is a good thing. In this case to not allow scammers, criminals get what they want here. Arguments such as 'it's a free market' are retarded, scammers shouldn't be allowed because it ruins Bitcoin and Cryptos reputation and makes peoples lose tons of money and make these scammers richer. atm the owner of this forum choses to pick the scammers side which will eventually get shut down. Isn't the owners name Theymos from holland?

I also agree with you 100%. However, the [ANN] section gets more traffic than almost the entire rest of the site combined, which means it brings in most of the advertising money for the forum.

Then the owners are not less than the scammers here since they support the announcements section where all the scams happen, but all it does is ruining crypto, but the owners of this forum don't give a shit anyway. Like someone else said there are tons of drug coins there/coming which only gets the attention of regulators which will get this site to shut down.

I think Bitcointalk should do something about it ASAP since it's even hurting Bitcoin, people are ignoring how much this forum plays a rol in scams being pulled.

this is a good point !
and i was thinking about this aspect after i last commented here last night..

let me start off by saying i appreciate the boss giving us all this forum to talk etc.
i think it's theymos who is the big boss man ?
i and others all too often criticize and bash this place endlessly but after all of it the boss has kept the lights on.

so i want to a say a very sincere thanks for the service here.

and.. the negativity that swirls around this place and crypto in general all over comes from people who abuse this service.
i know many mods would probably like to ban a suspected scammer but their hands are tied by the rules they have to enforce.
i was kind of hard on the mods on Digi's ban topic the other day ranting on staff here for random bannings..
and that leads me straight to my intended point i planned on making here today..

It would be nice if the slant in moderation was geared towards our favor !
those of use who are vocal against scam coin cloning type of crap. (and there is a difference between an old member with 1 account vs a 1 post noob)
i don't think it should be a 50/50 type of thing where scammers get equal protection.
See what i mean ?
Like a bias of 75% anti-scam and 25% scammers protection is the way it should be i think.
So rather than letting scammers have seemingly full free rain to post/bump shit non stop advertising for example (a clear example of rule violating Spamming)
we should be given a LOT of leeway to tell these assholes to fuck off etc.. let us Troll them or what ever. LOL
why make it a nice comfortable protected cozy little environment for scammers and ban us like a broken record who are agaisnt them ?

i will add that we don't see who is getting banned, so i have to go by a perception i get and by guys admitting they were banned etc.
but there is no doubt at all the "turds in the punch bowl" are watched and the ban hammer hovers over there head at all times.

i say.. FUD first and ask questions later !

These new coin posters in no way deserve the benefit of the doubt *anymore.
we should assume first they are scams and the onus is on them to prove other wise !
we should not be banned because we were challenging them and skirting on the edge of some rules here.
we should be given leeway to skid along the rules a bit (more than we already get now) and not the other way around with scammers.. 60 / 40 us guys FOR us not them !

also..

Exchanges need to stop adding IPO/ICO coins NOW !

THAT would be a huge massive blow to their scammy bullshit..
but they want cash $$$ - Altcoins to bitcoin to Fiat while making it seem like they are crypto supporters..
their not.

Exchanges offer crypto little more than a centralized security risk helping to pad THEIR wallets.
in the future i hope they don't even exist.. we shouldn't have let the balance of power go ALL to exchanges and their greedy secret antics.

this is not what it was suppose to be about guys.. it was SUPPOSE to be about a digital-currency.
Not a system for digital-ponzi schemes that would make Berni Madoff and Martha Stewart Proud !

Scammers / coin cloners etc are NOT entitled to anything.. they don't have a right to scam people for money !
If there was the same regulation in Crypto as the American stock market it would not have gotten this bad and many of these guys would be in jail Right Now !
..many that have continued to scam again and again because there is not stopping them.

I hope Staff and the owner consider the perception that we ALL see.

I know for a fact i would be faaar more willing to click the DONATE button on the top left of the screen had i thought
this place had a more fair slant towards US, the end users.. vs the clone coin posters and scammers.

WE the USERS feel like the staff here are protecting the scammers and leaving end-users hanging out to dry vulnerable to scammers.
More could be done !
And more users may also be inclined to hit that button Staff ;)

think about it :)

crap coins make supporters the most money..
so they follow the money.

and they will even support good coins sometimes but when profits go down they bolt and vanish leaving the coin to die.

which also means education is not going to work.. you have to take these guys down by force and we need idea guys !
I really like the attack pool idea to anonymously 51% coins but mining is sort of last year now and IPO / Full premine scams are all the rage.  ::)

no, best thing people should do is grow a fucking brain and give no money until no product. I have nothing against IPOs. But people investing in just fancy lines of text and shiny pictures is beyond retarded and makes me think there is loads of 10 year olds here for a quick buck. I have had immense losses of these scams all over the place. took me 5BTC to learn life lesson of not buying these complete shit coins which are released everyday.

You can't stop IPOs. people need to grow fucking brains.

jeez i can't even explain how tired i am trying to explain to guys like you here the facts.
i don't mean to jump on you specifically but lol
..i have seen your comment all over crypto forever  :'(

i know how this stuff works well i have discussed it all at great length every single day basically going on two years.
and this with Pool guys to coin devs to exchange operators to the same old guys here that have been in on 1,000 coins.
and the same old excuse gets thrown out..

- they know but they don't care.. they make money doing it.
- nobody basically is getting tricked.. they know EXACTLY what they are doing !

they all try and justify their behavior but it all amounts to damaging the entire Crypto scene including Bitcoin
so you can mine just one more clone coin for one more Bitcoin profit..

it really shows the nativity of guys that say that.
the whole routine of poor noobs being suckered into shit coins is a load of bullshit.

so the whole routine of having to lecture them to do the right thing is a laughable waste of time.
laughable as in they are smarter than you playing dumb lining their pockets quietly behind the scenes
putting the onus on the noobs that come here.. making the noobs look dumber than they are while spending YEARS lining their pockets with clone profits.

greedy sleazy deceitful people passing the buck onto others.
and i can assure you all if they succeed in killing off Crypto they will not be around to say "i told you so" to !
they will rip someone off for as much as they can before they leave the rest of us the clone coin mess to deal with.
(such as a small user base with dying coin values and massive losses across crypto and looming heavy regulation)

"They need to be educated" is saying i don't really know what is going on around the scene.
open your eyes !

if you don't believe me either guys i will start quoting well known guys in crypto who lined up to feed me the same excuse word for word.. over & over
such as "i mine every coin that comes along just in case"
and when i say ya but it's a bad coin for the health of crypto..
they all unanimously say..

but, I Made 2 or 3 Bitcoin profit etc.

anyway lol

@nutildah, you said..

Quote
meaning I am with you "in spirit."

That is cool we need more guys like you you are willing to stand up and take a stand and have their voice heard :)
i honestly believe it helps the situation if people speak up.
If all of us against crappy scammy coins keep quiet it pretty much makes it seem like we approve of them.
big difference between us all staying in silence vs grabbing pitch forks and torches fro a mob LOL
i may have suggested an Attack pool.. but lets get real we know that is not happening ahahha ..i just wanna scare these scammy pricks  ;D
and i would gladly settle for guys just taking a stand and speaking up :)

How do these altcoin IPOs even work?  I don't understand what people are buying.  Are all the coins premined and you're just buying them for no reason?

Yes i think that sums it up.

as in mining is avoided.
and i am against non mined coins no matter what term they want to call them..
angel invested or crowd funded or IPO or crowd sourced or ICO or or ...

all of it i think basically means i can for example..
sit at home and fork Litecoin and say mine LTC on my home computer until i have say 2 million coins.
then i can go post a sale for them on an exchange or on the forum etc.
and guys can have additional mining later or POS staking or what ever but i still see the important part as the initial distribution as the key.

the user Oracle digitalindustry had some really good break downs and explanations of the type of scammy initial distribution methods on his site/blog !
he is way better at explaining it all than i can ever be and i would say check out his articles if you can.
i will see if i can find a specific link to the breakdown article he wrote i am thinking off for you all.. it was really impressive stuff !

edit:
i am asking the guy for the link to it..

WRONG i already am the Hero and you need to come to terms with it.. it's happening !

by the way i will point out your clearly a sniveling whiny little coward hiding his account name because your scared to show me
and the rest of us your face as you troll me and my topic outright blatantly violating the rules.
which is pretty much a sign screaming your probably a mass shit coin cloner running his pussy bitch chicken shit mouth.
i guess i can't blame your for being a scared little angry sow i probably cost you a lot of money over time warning people about your scams.
sorry about that.. it's the Hero in me that does that  8)

so is it because your too scared to show your real face to reply with a comment on topic here ?
or is it you just because you know i will dominate your ass and wear it like a hat ?

You think your trolling me ? LOL
good luck with that ;)

and the rest of these guys clearly didn't read what i've been saying every 2nd comment..
or their trolling too / playing dumb..

People, no one is trying to be the "Hero" and put a "Crypto-White Knighting" Clinic on  ::)
Fact:
The vast majority of guys investing in Shitcoin's in this scene know damn well what they are doing.
nobody is trying to save them.. NO ONE !
I am the only guy even bringing this fucking topic up and i sure as hell am not.. why would i try and save gullible poor users who don't really exist ?

nope.. i am just exposing the usual suspects.. as usual, hanging around here in the scene 24/7 trying to Protect their Ponzi schemes.
And i will do what ever i can to throw a wrench in your Digital-Pyramid schemes and force you scammers to go get a job.

so.. Keep Trolling (AKA: lining up so you can hold your hand up saying I'm dumb look at me !!)

and keep up the personal attacks on me to try and some how discredit me and i guess in some weird bizzaro universe manage to invalidate everything i say in the process..
Spoetnik is ugly and his mother dresses him funny there for ShitCoins are great for the Crypto scene ! LOL
mmmmm hmmmm right  ::)

hmm, i wonder what that coin cloner is up to right now since i talked to him that offered to let me GPU pre-mine his coin privately with a couple buddies of his ?
last i heard he was on Poloniex flogging his clone coin(s) and before that on Cryptsy.
In all honesty i forgot the coin name(s) but there was more than one !
But hey you know what ? lets spend our energy attacking people against that sort of sleazy bs behavior !
because i guess the real problem is not the scammers ripping people off but guys like me exposing them right ?
mmmmmmm hhhhmmm  ::)
Ya i avoided saying the guy(s) name too.. hmm maybe i should just spit it out ?  8)

3 dice sites went down lately too !

so it's not just gambling sites, pools and exchanges or online wallet providers.. and yes exchanges too !

but what can we do about them all ?

- warn people
- avoid them
- keep coins on your own pc

You know, everyone says that - keep coins on your pc. But that has risks too.

Most people don't know how to properly secure their computers and are non-techies who'd find the instructions too cumbersome and complicated.

And others, for fear of getting dumped on overnight in a flash by the likes of IconicExpert and other whales, keep their coins on exchanges for fear of ending up last at the exit if a coin should suddenly dump.

Fact is, until decentralised markets happen and become more accessible and user-friendly, there are no easy answers for anyone seeking to avoid risk, except to stay out of alts altogether (but then you're exposing yourself to more fiat risk and inflation :P).

Ya i have had a beating or two leaving my coins i knew were in a risky position.. then came back to see prices tanked over night.
i swear in the old days guys would cash out like mad on Cryptsy late at night USA time zone and buy back in the morning.
i uses to flip coins on the trend for profit from that it was so predictable..
but after the great noob flood that seemed to have changed.

i was telling a guy on Poloniex chat last night how to use the Multibit (Java) Bitcoin wallet to back up his private keys and wallet.dat file to USB.
i guess all the guys who spam and hype HYP coin etc were all too tired from advertising to bother trying to help ?  ::)
anyway the guy had been around for a while and had no idea about any of that stuff and was not even aware that a private key is different than a wallet password LOL
i think he thought writing your wallet password onto a piece of paper was what is referred to as a Paper wallet ahhahah
so i helped him and said don't worry i too was kind of late looking into that stuff in Crypto too !
as in.. i did not look into it all, right away.. i didn't care.

PRO TIPS CORNER - with SPOETNIK:
Multibit gives you the wallet.dat file and your private keys held only on your own PC for security goodness :)

It also uses a hybrid system for the block chain so you won't have to wait weeks downloading the Bitcoin block chain.. my favorite BTC wallet !

Then you can export and import you private keys (for possible paper wallet options) or backup just the wallet.dat file to where ever you want.
It also works so the data is on your own PC so it's not vulnerable to an online wallet service attack.. unlike some other wallets etc.

A new version of Multibit was previewed before i seen too.. the devs are working on a brand new massive UI over haul and new features etc
the new wallet will be geared towards making it easy for Grannies to use Bitcoin.. a dumbed down style i think.

Lastly.. be careful what type of activity you do with a Cell Phone and any wallets for ANY coin !
If you drop your phone and some guys picks it up ? ..he can be at home taking the wallet.dat or passwords etc off your phone before you can blink !
Trust me phone protection system are ALL a joke ;)
And i sure hope your wallet.dat files are not getting uploaded to some iCloud ahhahahaha ;)
oh noes haxors fappen to have yur dat'z  :o

Instead of devoting so much resources on useless alts it might be better to focus on the good stuff! Otherwise you are just wasting your time! There are a lot of "gems" in the alt coins, you just gotta find em!

Good point, but instead of wasting time on the flavour of the month, why not become more familiar with the bitcoin technology itself, and build on that? Lots of untapped potential still.

How about just outright SCAMS like CannabisCoin, they don't mention that the first block has 21.8 MILLION Coins and every other Block has 420 Coins. How much effort would YOU put into a website if you had a good idea it could net you more than 1000 BTC if you just pump up all the low volume and then dump like no tomorrow. Cannabiscoin is going nowhere, has anyone even taken a look at the code?

CanabisCoin is all smoke and mirrors, it is a pure POW clone made with 42 second Block Spacing and 420 Coin payout and with 285,000 Blocks it has a total float of 119 Million Coins that were mined normally and 21 Million that came out of the first Block. Also, you don't know how much of that 119 Million coins were mined by the Dev's but it looks to me like someone cashed out bigtime.

http://s3.postimg.org/8c3ta2c2r/Cannabiscoin.png

It is a POW only Coin that is unsustainable with multiple errors in the code and documenting from which coins it is from. That 21 million in the first block is very close to the total amount sold after the big pump on Oct. 20 and 21st for about 1480 BTC but my guess is that it could be quite a bit more if they mined quite a bit in the first couple months as well.

So what coins are a good investment Im looking for investing not the quick pump and dump so I guess what coins are here to stay cause everyday 10 start up and 15 go dead meanwhile I think there is better things 3000 BTCs can do than line the pockets of scamers

Sadly i forgot the coin name(s) but a guy Owly from Cryptsy chat and Poloniex chat had offered to let me in on his scam..
Some months back he was on Poloniex and was saying, hey, hey, it's me using a different name than his Owly one on Cryptsy before..
and i had said to him well what the hell happened to you ? i had not seen you even once on Cryptsy chat..
Owly went on to explain that Cryptsy had banned him for being too cool or something LOL
Shortly after i was on Cryptsy and i thought hey why not ask them all where the regular visitor went ?
THEY told me he was perma banned for advertising some referral links to buy drugs online.. so yeah ahhh makes sense LOL
It was probably one of those buy oxcontin and some site type of deals i guess ?

so ?
Well i was on poloniex's chat box last night after commenting on a topic here about some dice sites that were hacked..
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=745422.860
So BayAreaCoins i guess who has been camping on that topic for some off reason seen my forum comment right away
and came to Poloniex and started in on me with this attack on me about
how he likes me me but i have to stop trolling on coins etc etc.
First i thought weird why is he talking about that when i was talking about a dice site that went down ?
He was trying to attack my credibility random out of the blue i guess because of my stand on that gambling site(s) hacker incident..
which ad nothing to do with any coins.. i did not mention a coin !
So i had said to him like what ? what are you talking about ? like what coins ? gimme something to work with LOL
I said like PM me a list of coin names you want me to be nice to etc.. and i will see what i can do ;)
he was saying no i don't know what your talking about and refused to name any coin i had picked on..

meanwhile at the same time he started dropping hints point blank he was "Owlsy" from Cryptsy chat fame using the name on Poloniex's chat box as BayAreaCoins
and i confronted him about it and asked him questions and he answered them all proving 100% the two guys were the same.. he admitted it !
So i said to him well jeez buddy just PM me the name(s) of the coins that are yours and i will be nice to them :) and i said i am serious think about !
..he denied being involved in any coin before.. AND he kept being a mouthy asshole to me portraying me as a Trolll who picks on coins..
So i lit his ass up ! HARD !
I exposed him on Poloniex chat for super scammy behavior LOL
He left asap and ran here and posted me negative trust rating feedback then ran to the Dice site topic i linked earlier and bad mouthed me LOL
and funny enough is i have no clue at all what he is talking about with the feedback rating.. he made it all up !
and why would he all of a sudden leave me a neg rating for telling the hacker to give the coins back on the Dice site topic ? hmm ?

And he also warned me 2 seconds after i mentioned that OWSLEY was caught in a scam that i better watch out because i will be getting sue for saying that (on Polo chat)
and i said to him on Poloniex's chat box.. DUDE. if you are NOT him, that Owsly guy like your claiming *now ? then why are you saying i'm gonna get sued ?
why would you even care ? ..he went silent LOL

Part 2 coming after i had my coffee.. you guys won't BELIEVE the scammy stunt he pulled i was SHOOOOOOCKED !
just let that first part soak in and wait for the scammer punch line
;)

oooooh crypto you idiot clown scammers make me ROFL.. your ass's are mine and i will sink your little boats any time i want  8)

It is soooo painful to read any of your posts.  You are tagged as a scammer because you confirmed who you were in Poloniex chat.

Everyone knows I only fuck with Huntercoin now days and the only past alt I had any major influence on was DOGE.

Bitch please   :-*  I'm a 1manband in peeing in Owsley (aka your) eye.

I will just jump right in and save the rambling since it upsets so many of you so much hhaha (ADD kids stick to Twitter) LOL

So what was the big thing buddy admitted to me ?
Well the OWLY character infamous for pushing NET among other coins on Cryptsy chat going back to last year
had said point blank hey, it's ME OWLY from Cryptsy chat many months ago on Poloniex's chat box while it was super busy.
Which i knew him well from talking to him for a year and a half LOL
So i did not have to figure it out.. he said HEY.. It's.. ME Spoetnik !

then..

He right on Polo's public chat said that he was putting out some coin(s) with friends and i was invited to join in with them mining it privately :o
I was floored he said and that he did so publicly.. AND in front of everyone else
and even funnier is all the greedy little piece's of shit rubbing their hands together for scam coin profits each screaming on the chat box buy MY! faggy shit coin
didn't notice !
none of the losers said a fucking word !
oh and since then months after 90% of the chat boxes guys are long gone.. hmm wonder what happened ?
..prob ripped off for all their money and left :(

so i am not sure the coin name and he said it plural as in more than one !
it's him and he said it.... i swear to fucking god !
i may even have some old PM's from him to back it up i have not looked yet.
(he has pushed other coins than NET or Hunter but i forget its been a while)

Guys.. if you so much as opened your eyes and looked around or listened to the scammer beside you
you would a have a far better grasp at what is going on around the scene !
People like this guy admit to secretly premining a coin with friends before launch inviting me to join in and not one of you said a fuckin' word or mentioned after (that i seen)
and THAT is even more pathetic than the scam he pulled guys  :'(

and BayAreaCoins.. next time watch your mouth ;)
you had to fuck with me so i exposed you.. enjoy it scammmer  8)

Your post are so fucking painful to read.

I feel the biggest problem is that the majority of users here on the forum have very little understanding of the technology in which they are investing. It's often like watching sheep lead other sheep into the slaughter house. Now of course lack of accountability also plays a large part but if we could focus on education rather than personal attacks against users and the coins they've invested in I could see things slowly changing.

Best advice I can give is to keep your Bitcoins in Bitcoin or invest in stuff you fully understand and know the risk.

Also... never invest in coins that use Obama campaign slogans  ;)  ;D jk

May I suggest something to help with your policing?

What about getting a little automated program to help with screen shots? There are many available around the web for free and may be a bit more useful for evidence where you can capture instances in Polo or Cryptsy chat and have more solid evidence.

He is claiming I am Owsley, so i don't think screenshots will help his claims.  I also am not reading his claims very closely cause they are all bullshit.

It is obvious enough that the dude is the same guy that I don't think I need screen shots.   ;D

I can assure you the crowd of guys watching me talk to him last night on polo's box were watching and can back up my claims.
although the original incident from months ago though i don't know..
if Polo logs the chat going back like 4/5 months then i have concrete proof for what i said.
and if they do please Poloniex search back for me many months back by looking for comments from me and see what i said and back me up ;)
and his talk last night i think is logged at www.polonibox.com i wonder if he knows that ? LOL

i have no reason to make up an elaborate lie with extreme detail either.. believe me or don't guys lol

He was admitting he was OWSLY in a variety of ways then tried to turn it around on me AFTER i exposed him.. claiming i was the guy he just admitted to being LOL

here is some logged chat from the other night ;)

notice him saying HE was going to sue me over the accusation ? if he is not OWSLY then why the lawsuit ???? ...BUSTED LOL
and notice how he knew why OWSLY was banned on cryptsy chat and had corrected me etc..
i also asked him if we be Cryptsy ban brothers.. since it's what we talked about last time.. about us both getting banned on Cryptsy chat and how he said YES.
all his various commentary was him trying to tell me it was him ..he always does it tahtw asy by name dropping OWSLY
ask guys on Cryptsy...... they have watched him do it there too !
rather than saying that it's me with a diff name he will start with games about the user name.. hinting to me loudly it's him using another account lol

Go bone yourself in the butthole Owsley.

The thing is that I have heard both sides of this.

The purpose of this is to come up with a way to stop the scammers from having success scamming unsuspecting people.

They are not going to stop these guys from launching coins. That has been talked about forever.

There needs to be new ideas to stop it, that is what needs to happen.

I dont have an answer, but we should focus on things that haven't already failed.

What can be done other than what hasnt already failed to work?

Think outside the box, but if enough minds come together thinking about it, maybe someone will spark something.

All the scams do hurt the movement.

Fud first and ask questions later is going to make those doing it lose any credibility and then no one will listen to those that do care and that would only help the scammers.

Somehow we need to get people to stop blindly throwing away their money

Short of implementing a remote greed/stupidity detector as part of the BTT login process, I don't see how we can effectively protect alt-coin investors from being scammed.
Even if we could create a magic force-field that will stop people from throwing their BTC at the first sketchy scheme they see, these same people would just complain that they have a right to invest whatever they like, wherever they like.

Lots of people are looking for that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, and many of them simply won't listen to warnings or do any sort of due diligence before they invest.

The only way that I can see to help the situation is for someone (like an alt-coin Dunn+Bradstreet) to create a 'white list' of crypto-currencies that are probably not scams, and for investors to be encouraged to put their BTC into those systems.

Heres a very pessimistic view on the effects of scamming on BitCoin:

i agree Evil Dave and i bet if people could play hot potato with a live grenade they would
..as long as they can buy a Lambo later and it blows up in some OTHER guys face !

overall i think we see a steady downward trend in prices with brief spike up and down every 30 days roughly..
i also am not sure anything can be done..
i said long ago the people doing it (the majority) don't care.. they will wring out the cloth for every drop of BTC until it's over.

as long as ONE more keeps getting put out people will care less and less over all and are they going to stop ?
we just have to resign ourselves to the fact we're doomed and going down.

at this point a good coin has no bearing on the cycle and cause and effect of the momentum of the crypto profiteers majority .. they steer the ship guys !

if people say, but but.. MY coin is legit it doesn't matter if it is or not because a new one is around the corner..
so i think the casualty is legit coins are going down too no matter what, caught up in the giant Altcoin-Toilet getting flushed.

PS:
Watch Blocknet coin for big scammer LOL'z

and remember when in doubt FUD first and ask questions later ;)

I can assure you the crowd of guys watching me talk to him last night on polo's box were watching and can back up my claims.
although the original incident from months ago though i don't know..
if Polo logs the chat going back like 4/5 months then i have concrete proof for what i said.
and if they do please Poloniex search back for me many months back by looking for comments from me and see what i said and back me up ;)
and his talk last night i think is logged at www.polonibox.com i wonder if he knows that ? LOL

Poloniex did log all the trollbox activity dating back to march (basically everything excluding the first 15000 messages).

Busoni was very kind with me yesterday and provided all the chat log data to be hosted on http://www.polonibox.com/, thus, everyone can search through all the conversations, including the earliest ones! :)

bitcointalk should just ban all accounts and ips from users in China and Vietnam, those cat and dog eating yellows are responsible for the majority of scams in crypto imo

They cant even stop banning accounts which are being sold or bought and you think they will start banning scamaccounts ? The reality in here is very different my friend

Who runs this scam forum anyway?

Do your homework.. THEN run your mouth around here.

By the way i am deciding what the next coin is still ;)

hmmm.. GEMS ?

best thing you can do against ipos is to launch as many scam ipos as possible. Why mine, when they give you the money for free? People will learn or go broke. If you claim it's closed source because you're first mover you don't even need to code. That shit is way too easy. If i wasn't a good enough trader i would launch these, lucky i don't have to.

A few lines text and some graphics for free money.

IPO closedown is only possible if people stop investing in them. If people continue investing, then it isn't possible to shut them down.

Somehow we need to get people to stop blindly throwing away their money

The problem is ..guys turn a profit on the crap coins.
The old routine how guys are suckered in just usually isn't the case..
i bet most time guys are experienced and understand the risks and go in wide eyed to what is going on.
and i say this because i have had older traders tell me this for years all over the web.
they *use to admit it outright..
one guy i won't name said he get's every new coin  ..just in case (to hopefully make money off it)
this is no innocent victim.. this is a leech who came here to exercise self-destructive and toxic behavior to all of crypto.
in an effort to make chump change as fast as possible (vs larger *honest money long term)

well times have changed and these guys hide now.. they no longer try and justify this putrid behavior on chat box's etc.
the new little trend is to kiss ass publicly and spout off about how you hate crap coins etc.

and of course the Mr.honest coin team's ..you got your guys here pushing Bitshares or Monero or NXT (or what ever..)
claiming they are different.. why because they harp and spam this place about it 24/7 (somehow this makes them legit ?)
jousting for attention on page 1 on a scam forum ?

nagging the fuck out of us all day in and day out does not make your coin legit LOL

launches would be handled differently if dev teams wanted to start a currency..
vs what happens.. an IPO so they can get Bitcoin for "expenses"
Take Blocknet for example.. he asked for just under 1 million dollars usd in Bitcoin for his IPO
and this is after he admitted 75% of the code was done before launch.
What was excuse for asking for so much ? Well when i asked him i was told and i quote "to ensure it's a success"

Shit coin dev's sez what ?
but but but.. my scam coin project is legit and honest (all the other guys are evil greedy thieves)  ::)

No organization ever controls these but you can spread the word to clean up. Its a complete waste of time through. There is no way you can clean it up, what you can do however is just go along and participate or you lose your chance to profit as well.

It has nothing to do with "Profit" guy.. apparently most of you missed the point.

Satoshi did not create Bitcoin as a vehicle to fleece money from people.
There for why should Altcoins be ?
If Altcoins are about nothing but profits then they are "Digital" Pyramid schemes.

Since all you all care about is profit you collectively decided to lower the bar.
There was a time when a coin with a 100% premine would have been laughed off this forum.
And every single comment on the ANN topic would have been flaming.
Mid-2013 there was no way something like Ripple or Ethereum could get off the ground.

You guys started your idiocy with Doge and mass cloning.. mostly with scrypt.
then on multi-algo's then onto "Airdrops" .."Anon coins"  and then... IPO/ICO/ITO's

All you people do is parade around looking to "profit"
Which is utterly retarded beyond comprehension.
Because you all fucked up bad and ruined the chance this shit will ever get major adoption.
You blew it Investards and you ruined it all for chump change.

I SLOW CLAP FOR YOU ALL  ::)

I could not even estimate how many times i or a few others have explained technically why ALL IPO/ICO coins are scams / "scammy"

You all refuse to even read why anyway.. you will say... no
then refuse to read why another guy says they are scammy.. citing the comment is too long.

Most of you little morons in Crypto wouldn't know what Crypto is if it bit you in the ass.
I know about Cryptography and have used it coding software & cracking etc.
Yet i am suppose to listen to stupid children lecturing me about it ?

Lets just say that rather than trying to create a new & improved method of distribution
over Satoshi's implementation you all got lazy, stupid & greedy and flopped on your back with your hands out..

This is not the stock market kidiots.
IPO / ICO scams are not a valid legit or even legal method of distributing a currency.
(coding a Mobile wallet or adding 1 to an exchange or bragging you made money of 1 does not make them legit)

There ARE other ways to go about doing it but what do we see ?
IPO's or clones posted in exchange for Bitcoin.. thousands & thousands of them !
Actions speak louder than words..

EDIT:
I find it funny we have idiots who are quick to learn a piece of information easily after 1 person posts it online.
Yet you can harp & rail on posting the same comment like i just did THOUSANDS of times..
on every topic on every page every day year after year but you will all STILL sit there playing dumb.
THAT is playing stupid / being stupid ..or BOTH !

If i posted 1 comment on how to make a shitload of money i bet you would all catch on pretty fast.
I would NOT have to repeat myself infinitely forever ::)

I could not agree more Mr. Penguin.  Although Doge should be left out of that - as it was specifically a joke coin and wasnt pretending to be serious.  The fact that it blew up so much is one of those things that will remain unexplained for ever.

@the guy who commented before me..

You CAN profit from legit projects.. so don't give me that bullshit  ::)

So people i am moving the cleanup to phase 4.

I have a proposal and request of all the entire Crypto Community.

Let's unite for a while i say..
Let's team up and fight the good fight together for a common goal !

I call on all the communities world wide that are Not ETH / DAO related to unite !
Let us set side our difference and be done with this scammy Ethereum crap.
It is an ugly scam we have among us we need to get rid off.
So lets band together with our common goal people.

For the time being i suggest people quit falling into the bait trap of arguing over coin vs coin.
For example i will not be saying anything about Monero ..that is put on hold.
I started keeping my mouth shut about them already and you can all see i side stepped the "diversion"
We have a problem and it's called ETHEREUM people !

What ever other coin is out there it is not nearly as bad as Ethereum / DAO etc.
So i invite you all to join me in focusing on improved priorities.
And to remind you all to not fall for the diversions being played on us.

Ethereum does not deserve top spot people.
Your Litecoin or your Dash or your Monero or your Goldcoin etc is far more a proper candidate !
I ask for some solidarity and resolve in this important point in Crypto-History.

Will you all join me for a higher cause, the health of Crypto ?

ICO's are unfair & scammy & it has been explained to you all about 10 times a day.

Fatigue ?

Try explaining shit to retard noobs who showed here late with a mittful of mom's cash hoping to profit off shitcoins but don't want the hassle of investing in mining hardware.

ICO = Scam ..still

Why ? well one reason is because they are a 100% premined & centralized.
NONE of them are currencies and we are here for currencies right ? or profit ?

If you launch a currency and the only way to get them is to buy them with FIAT (another currency)
Than what we have is yet another scammy "Scheme Coin"

Fatigue ?
Yeah sure of watching you guys play dumb & cry FUD for bucks $

Try this on for size idiots..

You need MONEY to buy Bitcoin then you need Bitcoin to buy Ethereum then.. you need Ethereum to buy DAO
then what ? LOL
How many layers / levels of scam are you tards willing to go ? ROFL
..for profit  ::)

ICO is the best way for legit developers to raise money to build cool innovations.
OP just has problems with ICO because he cant use his free mining gear to mine the coin for nothing and then dump on anyone willing to pay anything for it.

What do you mean with ANN profiles?

+1

The only problem I have with cypto currencies is the scamming and mistrust in them. If this could be cleared up, I would keep a lot more money in them.

Was that a retort ?

ICO is the best way for legit developers to raise money ?

"Legit dev's" ?
What cowards hiding + name changing with fake names on a scam web site is legit now ? LOL

News flash.. they don't need any money.. they WANT money. (Big Difference)
Further more the procedure used to do all these 100's or 1,000's of ICO's is scammy by design.
LOTS of people have been burned !
..kinda funny you never brought that up huh ? LOL

build cool innovations ?
Show me ONE "cool innovation" out of THOUSANDS OF COINS !
You can't .
There for their need want of money looks far more scammy.

OP just has problems with ICO because he cant use his free mining gear to mine the coin for nothing and then dump on anyone willing to pay anything for it ?

Problems ?
I have none.. i win at this shit while you're all scammy profiteers with no class or integrity.

Oh and which coin is it that people are willing to pay "Anything" for again ?
Because i will buy THAT one i think ROFL

I have a terrible feeling it's all going to get a lot worse.
We'll require "-- Operation Fork/Clone/Copy Scam Coin Cleanup --" type threads.

I do hope I'm wrong.
But what's to stop any coin now, releasing every 'flavor' of their coin? For better investment!
Sure a little dilution, but I bet the first few, near double up damn it!

The only option left at this point is to create our own ipo scamcoin, we'll beg for money &  say bad things about ipos in the ANN

This will cause other scamcoins to cease and desist. What a is everyone gonna trade now?

Our ipo scamcoin..

Won't that prove scambusters to be no different from these dev that turned out to be scams after collecting the funds and not even have the decency to continue developing the coin?  Naming the coin scamcoin is just ironic.

I don't see what's your problem. There's nothing bad from IPO, that's even beneficial. How many great inventions could not have be created if there was no money to finance them ?

Then you can't read because i have posted why as others have on countless topics for many years.

There is a long list of reasons.. the reality is you all don't care.
If you found out each ICO launch gave a new born baby AIDS you would still make stupid failed excuses for them.

BOTTOM LINE:

You kidiot Investards are going to earn your ROI'z one way or the other.
You wont let something as trivial as a scam get in your way.. not when there is BTC / FIAT to be had.

Funny thing is you circle jerking scam pushers seem to think it makes a difference loitering around here making pitiful excuses for bad behavior.

Even after i told you for years it's pointless because all your doing is preaching to the choir..
The other already sold on scams dregs around here loitering around hoping to profit off anything that moves crew of losers. (which is 90% of the whole scene)

It's been 7 years of Altcoin fail where every last one of them has gone no where and done nothing.
WHY ?
Simple, answer.. the universe gove 0 fucks.

Which is why hanging our here spewing dumb bullshit 24/7 is a pointless waste of time.
It doesn't work.
It does not aid adoption with the general public who get here via Google randomly.
Because you can not fool the average person.

The average person out there is far smarter than the average Altcorn reject crying FUD for bucks here.
You can't fool them.. even though you been trying for 7 years.

I bet the general public would sooner invest in ME than any of your shitty scam coins.
I bet they show up here year after year and see i am pretty much the only thing on here out of almost 1 million accounts and 7,000 ANN topics that has an ounce of fucking credibility and class and integrity.

so go for it.. say it again, i dare you !

Tell me i am full of shit AGAIN and that no one is here for any other reason than PROFIT.
I will laugh in your face again and say, no morons.. there is actual crypto supporters out there.
And no not ALL of us here are little greedy dregs hoping to squeeze BTC / FIAT out of Altcoins.

I have more credibility than all of you combined.
I am smarter than all of you combined.

I have the skills to trade and make money and i could do it investing 0 cents.
I know because i did it profiteers.  8)

But, i CHOOSE not to.

I choose not to support scammy projects for profits like human waste.

You will never be me.. because your not smart enough. come to terms with it  8)

..get smart or don't see if i care
maybe give 10k to the Jamaican bobsled team or buy a 1 race Nascar paint job for 45k or spend 3,200 BTC on 1 Zcash scam coin crypto-dregs of society.. let me know how that works out for you  :D

WHERE'z Ma ROI'z at DAWG !!?

..pile back in your car and GTFO crypto-clowns !

I would consider an ICO if the dev had already created a coin/token on his own and that showing what he achieved so far can be developed with a team to coordinate with him after the IPO. But without github and some codes, its going to be very difficult as it would probably turn out like what happen to OPAIR taht even with escrow, he managed to scam investors.

You all did notice i killed the term "IPO" coin right ?
You all simply swapped to a slew of other terms notably "ICO"
The BlockNET douche bags even tried to get ITO to catch on but it never worked.  :D

And once again we see ole Spoetnik turned the word ICO into a dirty word  8)

In case you guys didn't notice this topic was created before the term ICO was used a lot.
But the coins never changed.. same old shitty scam coins we're talking about.

Seems like it was yesterday you were throwing all kinds of crap at the wall..
..Angel-Investing or Crowd-Funding  ::)

You guys do not need to make new names for the word "scam".

- Good Luck with the Crypto-Panhandling  ;)

What about the TEC? ARK was the first to use it, they mean Token Exchange. You find it fancy too?  ;D
The team had made it popular already just by doing so. And it grabbed a lot of attention. you probably had noticed the ANN thread as well.
