Bitcoin is better than any other cryptocurrency for a simple reason that other cryptocurrency such as Litecoin and Dogecoin could hardly be used to purchase for retail commodities even if they are accepted by the dealers. And they are usually used for investment or storage value.

It is better then the other Cryptocurrencies , It is an original & unique idea ;D and I don't think someone will create something better then BTC ,at least not anytime soon

Yes, it will be the leader and pronoun of all the other cryptocurrency, for it has the historical meaning. No coins else can take place of it.

It is the most secure. Talk of scenarios about how the Fed could pour money into hardware to generate a  51% attack on Bitcoin becomes less and less prevalent. But doing so to an alt would be a lot easier.

Other Cryptocurrencies are just copies of this idea and project, without wider support from the public.
Right now, bitcoin is the only Cryptocurrency with potential to become mainstream, globally accepted.

I do not agree, there are many alts that have developed further upon and also have good security.
The only reason bitcoin would be better is because of the adoption rate. But with LTC and Doge you can buy a lot as well these days, probably over 100,000 merchants accept them. Bitcoin is so slow, shouldn't take 45 minutes to transfer, many coins transfer in one or two minutes.

You don't say, Captain Obvious  ;D. This is what us bitcoiners continually tell these altcoiners but they never listen. They just think they've missed out on the btc train and want to try get rich quick off another alt. without merchant adoption these alts will never go anywhere.

well, Bitcoin is the ORIGINAL idea for the whole cryptocurrency thing and others are just copies or immitations in other words, and sometimes with some innovations or changes but nothing significant YET.

They could if they wish, but that would cost them way too much money and time. For the fed the cons will outweigh the pros to do so.

And why would they want that anyway? Bitcoin at this point is not a threat, and probably will not be a threat for the fed in the future.

You doing something wrong sir, all I have to do is wait few seconds after I send transaction, then I can close my wallet and power off computer. My transaction was always confirmed this way so far.

Bitcoin sidechains will completely eliminate the needs for altcoins.

And is there any need for altcoins or sidechains in first place ?
I only using Bitcoin and I dont see reason to use anything else.

Bitcoin is the only cryptocurrency, everything else was just to make BTC to look bad. But eventually they all fail and the BTC prevail. 8)

Bitcoin isn't the orginal. It's just been the most successful, but I also agree with the post above the transfer rate on Bitcoin is atrocious. I think of Bitcoin in the same way I look at cellphones or television. If you think Bitcoin is at the forefront of crypto technology, then your head is in the sand. Bitcoin is widely accepted, because of the early investors and crypto enthuasists. Bitcoin will most like always be around as the core value base of crypto in the same way as gold was for a longtime the base of all fiat currency. Bitcoin is cryptocurrency Gold, but much like gold, it is difficult to obtain and time consuming to transfer.

Omg you are right. How come i did not think this by myself.  I thought second life lindens are best crypto curency. but yes out of Second life are a bit useless. It seems Bitcoin is much better.

There are no other cryptocurrencies. Their existence is an extremely temporary illusion.

There can only be one that eats the world, and bitcoin is it. When the fiat financial disaster events keep coming, it becomes a war of attrition against people's tolerance for suffering. It won't take long for them to let go of the dying system.

Everywhere on this planet, sooner or later your survival will becomes dependent on your decision, and you'll have no choice. In some places this is happening now, people are choosing bitcoin freely.

I think the main thing here is based on the fact that bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency. We all know that Most of the altcoins are just copy of the original bitcoin codes and they offer nothing significant which is why they fail. Only bitcoin is here to stay

Bitcoin is the first "real" crypto-currency  , and it is the most famous (and better) because : first come , first served .

With all the scams out there, Bitcoin and a few select others are the only ones to be trusted.  If things continue as they are, Bitcoin will be all that is left.

I see potential for sidechains to test new technologies and code changes.  To kill off altcoins for good would be great too.  I know there are problems with sidechains but that is just my sound bite level knowledge talking.

Also not true. You could simply send a TX to someone with a proper fee and two minutes later the recipient will have been reasonably certain that the TX will confirm for ~1 minute 55 seconds.

true, and specifically to bitcoin I've had bad experiences with it. when I had long been collecting LTC faucet in one of their biggest. I see they have sold the site before I had time to draw, and that without any notice at all.

It will not remain that way forever if new players enter. I might take 1 year, or 3. Bitcoin will not be the king forever.

Different cryptocurrenies have different strengths and weaknesses. Bitcoin, however, has the edge of larger customer base and high acceptance level.  8)

The others coins are for those who didn't have the luck to buy bitcoins when his value was low, the unique and original is the BITCOIN and nothing else. The rest is imitation also I don't deny that allows to get money.

It is a good way to use only one currency like bitcoin, because my opinion is that every store and every company would accept only one cryptocurrency and not other.

but in future, it's hard to say.

I think we all have this settled bitcoin is the foundation those alts are build on nothing special about em
but after bitcoin litecoin holds the place because of it's acceptance about doge i still think of it as a meme.

all 3 coins you mentioned are the same. If is hard to use one of them, then is same hard to use other.

Bitcoin has been in the news a ton and it's possible to mine it on your Mac. But unless you purchase dedicated mining hardware (which is expensive) Bitcoin mining isn't cost-effective. A better choice is Litecoin.

when people said that a year or two ago it may have been true but not anymore.. that time has come.

I agree that bitcoin, at that moment, is better than any other cryptocurrency.
Many people already know about bitcoin, or investing in bitcoin, or buying bitcoin as investment, or buying/selling digital products with bitcoin...
But, this can change very easily if bitcoin don't become mainstream and widely accepted by ''big'' merchants in a next a few years.
In this case, it's possible that many bitcoin users will loose their patience, start selling bitcoin, and move to other, more promising crypto currencies.

The best and only true is Bitcoin.
