Bitcoin is better than any other cryptocurrency for a simple reason that other cryptocurrency such as Litecoin and Dogecoin could hardly be used to purchase for retail commodities even if they are accepted by the dealers. And they are usually used for investment or storage value.
well, Bitcoin is the ORIGINAL idea for the whole cryptocurrency thing and others are just copies or immitations in other words, and sometimes with some innovations or changes but nothing significant YET. Bitcoin isn't the orginal. It's just been the most successful, but I also agree with the post above the transfer rate on Bitcoin is atrocious. I think of Bitcoin in the same way I look at cellphones or television. If you think Bitcoin is at the forefront of crypto technology, then your head is in the sand. Bitcoin is widely accepted, because of the early investors and crypto enthuasists. Bitcoin will most like always be around as the core value base of crypto in the same way as gold was for a longtime the base of all fiat currency. Bitcoin is cryptocurrency Gold, but much like gold, it is difficult to obtain and time consuming to transfer. |

Omg you are right. How come i did not think this by myself. I thought second life lindens are best crypto curency. but yes out of Second life are a bit useless. It seems Bitcoin is much better. |

There are no other cryptocurrencies. Their existence is an extremely temporary illusion.
There can only be one that eats the world, and bitcoin is it. When the fiat financial disaster events keep coming, it becomes a war of attrition against people's tolerance for suffering. It won't take long for them to let go of the dying system.
Everywhere on this planet, sooner or later your survival will becomes dependent on your decision, and you'll have no choice. In some places this is happening now, people are choosing bitcoin freely.

I think the main thing here is based on the fact that bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency. We all know that Most of the altcoins are just copy of the original bitcoin codes and they offer nothing significant which is why they fail. Only bitcoin is here to stay

Bitcoin sidechains will completely eliminate the needs for altcoins.
And is there any need for altcoins or sidechains in first place ? I only using Bitcoin and I dont see reason to use anything else. I see potential for sidechains to test new technologies and code changes. To kill off altcoins for good would be great too. I know there are problems with sidechains but that is just my sound bite level knowledge talking. |

Like Bitcoin. The only way to transfer bitcoin within two minutes is to hand over your whole computer. Not true.. I could hand you the private key to my wallet. |

I do not agree. Bitcoin 2.0 will be better than bitcoin Bitcoin 2.0 ? interesting , but not in 2015 maybe after 2030. |

You could simply send a TX to someone with a proper fee and two minutes later the recipient will have been reasonably certain that the TX will confirm for ~1 minute 55 seconds. |

true, and specifically to bitcoin I've had bad experiences with it. when I had long been collecting LTC faucet in one of their biggest. I see they have sold the site before I had time to draw, and that without any notice at all. |

Bitcoin is currently better then any other alternative because there is so much more attention, spread, distribution and public recognition of its idea more than others.
It will not remain that way forever if new players enter. I might take 1 year, or 3. Bitcoin will not be the king forever.
