Title: [ANN] [CIN] Cinder
Post by: CrowdWhale on November 07, 2014, 12:13:16 AM
https://i.imgur.com/WREfnL7.png

Generation:
Cinder [CIN] is the new developer's rebranding of FlexibleCoin [FLEX].
FLEX was mined during a 10+ day X15 Algo Proof of Work stage.
Most coins have since been purchased by investors on markets such as
Bittrex and Cryptsy, giving the coin wide distribution to long term holders.

Note: Some exchanges are still trading CIN under the name of FLEX.
You can buy FLEX and send it to your CIN wallet without issue.

Web Wallet
Merchant API

One of our first jobs will be to design a web wallet and merchant API to easily allow integration of Cinder payments and payouts into any website, including our own.

Earth Assembly
Website: http://www.earthassembly.org
Screen Shots: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.397325503714730.1073741831.104191973028086&type=3

Earth Assembly is a social network that features community, city, cantonal, bio-regional, and global assemblies with the ability to create, vote on, and fund proposals. There are also features for trading goods and services, as well as the standard social networking features for creating and sharing posts and pictures. Cinder will exclusively power the site's e-commerce features.

Micro-Payment Tools for Browser-Based Games

We will improve on the web wallet and merchant API systems and streamline them for micro-payments in browser-based games. During this process we will also overhaul the code base to allow for 12 second block times with 4 confirmations, which will allow us to tackle instant payments for both e-commerce and point of sale vending.

Thorns of War
https://www.facebook.com/towrpg

Thorns of War is an HTML5, browser-based RPG and World Simulation. The entire world begins with only streams, trees, resources, and NPCs. Nearly everything in the game is built by players who chop down the trees, carve pans to gather tin and gems from the streams, dig up stones to build furnaces, hire NPCs to do the grunt work, build roads for their carts, raise huts and halls of timber and stone, and forge all their own gear. It's played from the perspective of a character that you create, but the game looks more like an RTS. The game has had paying players in the past, but was taken offline to revamp the art, combat system, and character creator, much of which is finished. The game will integrate Cinder micro-payments. There are task points used for different activities in the game, from panning a stream to building a bridge, and these can be refilled for a price. There are also some special hirelings that can be purchased, such as the paymaster to pay your units far and wide and the weapons master to train your guards.

This is a rebranding of FlexibleCoin [FLEX]. The only thing anyone needs to do is download the wallet after midnight PST on Saturday morning. Don't use the FLEX wallet after Friday PST. Your CIN balance after the switch will be the same as your FLEX balance beforehand.

I recommend you send any FLEX you own or buy in the next 30 hours to your wallet to stake. The exchanges have been notified of the change and the timeline, but of course I can't guarantee their behavior. Close down your wallet sometime on Friday, download the new wallet on Saturday, and voila... you'll have an identical amount of Cinder that you can continue to stake or send back to the exchange of your choice once they make the switch.

OK...
1- bittrex will swap automatically my balance?
2- wallet.dat will be the same ?

If you're a miner I would recommend pointing your gear at the most profitable coin, selling it, and then buying FLEX on the market in the next 30 hours before exchanges disable them. We won't see this depressed price again once Cinder development really gets underway.

1% FLEX Premine
--------------------
There is a 1,300,000 FLEX premine that was divided into two accounts held by techlover and Varun. techlover has agreed to send his (just under) 650,000 FLEX to the current dev team. In the event that he successfully integrates Cinder into his Flexible Science project, we agree to pay him a bounty of 250,000 CIN. Varun has not yet been reachable. For his contributions I'd like to publicly offer him 250,000 FLEX as a bounty. We hope that he will send the remaining 400,000 FLEX to the current dev team to be offered as bounties for various contracts. If he does we will give an extra 150,000 CIN bounty to Flexible Science. We would then have a total of just under 650,000, or half the original premine, with which to acquire services that advance the Cinder agenda.

FLEX and CIN donations are very appreciated, both at this address: FBU8TbD4PJhtLoHYHk626nBy9Vpwc9LmhK

If you have trouble syncing your FLEX wallet (Windows):

Download the blockchain here to save time syncing:

https://mega.co.nz/#!BcwWlKzZ!n3JMWI1H8rK3KNDhZBIfIr8r7AFviMplxBCKcxx5ne4

Put it here:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Flexiblecoin

In the same folder, right click and choose: New > Text Document

Rename the text file: Flexiblecoin.conf

Add the following contents to the file and save it:

daemon=1
server=1
listen=1
rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=password
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=22554

Cryptsy support acknowledged my message, but they still have a FLEX market. Bittrex told me to contact support, which I did several days ago, and they haven't responded.

The important thing to remember is that the two coins are the same other than the name. If you buy FLEX and send it to the Cinder wallet it will be fine. I'll keep trying to get these exchanges and other websites to make the switch. I suppose eventually they'll wake up.

Well, I'm not quiet and investors aren't bitching, so that's a good thing. I think people are just waiting to see how things progress.

That said, I think we're stuck with the FLEX markets for the weekend. I can't get a response from Cryptsy or Bittrex, but again I remind you all that FLEX bought on the market can be safely sent to, and staked in, your Cinder wallet.

techlover is going to send back his premine, thus giving us some bounty to work with. However, I don't intend to spend it on anything I can do myself, nor will I spend it at this price. It'll be worth much more later. Varun has not been responsive about his half of the premine (650k).

My task now is to get a bare bones version of Earth Assembly online, which will act as a community hub. Meanwhile we'll be deciding if we want to do a hard fork with a new code base to allow for the faster block time. Beyond that our priority will be the web wallet and merchant integration tools. We want the coin in actual use before we move on to adding any fancy features.

Bittrex is "deciding what to do". They feel that renaming the coin, even though it's the same blockchain, is some form of abuse to bypass other new coins. Apparently they would rather people lose the investment a blockchain represents in favor of a new blockchain every time there's a change in the dev team. I assume new coins are more volatile and offer more income to the exchange.

Frankly, it will take some time to get Earth Assembly online and get the coin integrated, so there's plenty of time to work out issues with the exchanges. If you're looking for a daytrade or short term investment, this one might not be for you. If you're looking for huge gains once people see and realize the potential impact of Earth Assembly as a social network (both off and online), goods and services exchange, and machine for political and economic change, then welcome aboard. =)

You'll know as soon as I do. I don't think it will be too much of a problem. I'll have a bare bones version of Earth Assembly online before the end of the week so people can start getting an idea of what's to come. Many of the other features are partially completed, but this version will focus on the social networking aspects... then the web wallet before the month is out.

The network keeps getting stronger and the sell pressure keeps getting lighter, yet the price isn't moving. If you're still trying to buy, don't buy from the ASK. Put in an order and be patient. We need as many coins as possible in the hands of people who understand the project, rather than day traders who will keep flipping from ASK to BID.

I'm working on the web wallet right now. Everything is on track and ahead of schedule, so there's no real reason for the low valuation other than lack of awareness. I'm not particularly concerned about the price at the moment since I have no plans to sell any coins in the near future. If you ARE concerned about it short term, I repeat that this is probably not the coin for you. My only concern is building the functionality that will drive the price up naturally rather than through pure speculation.

Hope you're all staying warm and safe. =)

Earth Assembly now has a functioning web wallet (on the development server, not the live one). That's a big hurdle out of the way, and way ahead of schedule. I need to generate some basic funding, so I'm going to finish up a less ambitious game I made a while back before I move on to the big stuff. It's a strategy/war game with a vikings theme. I'll give more info on this in a couple days, but for now here's the world map as a teaser...

Good. It's under the wrong name and they're being bitches about it. Nothing changes from my end. People have no idea what they're missing with this one. I'm not like these other devs. Cinder is now part of a bigger picture I've been planning for years and it's not going anywhere.

Really?   Even with a site like Circle or Xapo?  In Canada here there are sites you can debit from like Quickbt.com.
This could be a goal for the wallet, fiat to $CIN.  I own a fair amt of PINK and that feature is coming to their wallet in the near future so it must be achievable or purchased even.  Anyhow I dig this coin and will help with the twitter awarness.

 I should start selling bitcoin

Btw guys I changed the FLEX marked to CIN on Lazycoins.com about a week ago :)

Thanks, OP updated. I saw FLEX disappear and thought you'd just removed it =)

Anyhow I dig this coin and will help with the twitter awarness.

Thanks man!

I have a misunderstanding: Does not it seem like Cinder currency abbreviation (CIN) confused with another currency (Cinnamon Coin (CIN)) which has the same shorthand? Thank you!

Their ticker is CINNI.

I'm not going to try and save FLEX from delisting on Bittrex. I think it's a huge distraction right now. I've never really understood the drive to get listed on every exchange before you have a coin worth buying, but I assume it's because most people who "develop" coins are just looking for the best payday before letting the project die. Having the coin out there with no volume and the wrong name isn't going to help anything. What I care about most right now isn't creating expectations, it's creating a viable digital currency to power Earth Assembly. The price will be the price, and the less it relies on speculation... the more it relies on actual demand... the more stable it will be.

I've just about finished the code that will allow Earth Assembly to provide authentication (log-ins) for external websites and very shortly thereafter it'll be able to provide Cinder payments. Vikings will be the test bed for these features and I think I can get that up and running in a few weeks. Hopefully I'll see a trickle of income when that happens because, frankly, I'm running out of the savings that are allowing me to work on this full time.

Earth Assembly is going to change the world... mark my words.

Cryptsy is updating from FLEX to CIN tomorrow, according to GreenLion. If you're selling FLEX on Bittrex you're losing money.

He is right...you can just market buy on bittrex and it is same price and bid orders on cryptsy.

The exchanges are not very communicative. Cryptsy keeps saying they're about to make the change, but it never happens. Bittrex keeps saying they are delisting it (and then it would need to be readded as a new currency) but then it doesn't get delisted.

Come play Vikings. We especially need settlers in Kaupeyja, Valdyrslag, Vinguland, and Haltingale.

The lack of sell pressure is really pretty amazing. Thanks to everyone for holding and staking.

Right now I'm aiming to have Vikings running smoothly by the end of the week and Cinder payments fully functional by the beginning of next. That's a tight goal, but I'm going to shoot for it.

After that I'll focus a little more on Earth Assembly to flesh out its social networking and assembly features. If work goes smoothly perhaps I'll also be able to get some basic functionality done for goods trading. It would be nice to have EA in a usable state by the end of the month so promotion can begin in earnest and I can start the work needed to bring Thorns of War online.

VIKINGS UPDATE

I'm looking to move from Alpha to Beta, which means moving from adding the basic features to ironing out bugs.

Major bugs fixed:
Clan affiliation wasn't saving.
A defender's available húskarl count wasn't being set to zero when attacked.
Everyone's special resource was stone.

This weekend I'll be working on the web wallet to allow the purchasing of credits in the game. Most likely I'll sell the coin on Earth Assembly for a premium and then replenish them on the exchanges. This will create an arbitrage situation to boost the price. My goal is to get the price up to 0.01 USD per Cinder, which is about 2700 satoshis, but I'll most likely start selling them in the 25 to 100 satoshi range (undecided). Once more debugging has been done and the wallet is fully functional for micro-payments we can start some real promotion. I'd give that another week. I'll also be working on Earth Assembly's commerce features with the hope of getting more Cinder flowing by the end of the month.

My focus is on giving the coin value, not features few people care about. The feature I care about is having a fast digital currency, free of wasteful mining, that facilitates low-cost, frictionless commerce.

when the linux wallet?

When a wallet almost no one will use takes priority over the e-commerce applications I'm building for the coin.

I've come up with some new funds that will keep a roof over my head for a while longer, which means I've reconsidered my priorities. Earth Assembly will remain a simple social network for the time being while I focus on three main things:

1) Implementing PayPal into EA to provide a path for USD to Cinder.
2) Polishing Vikings.
3) Launching Thorns of War.

I'm thinking I'll skirt PayPal's issues with chargebacks by selling VIP memberships to Earth Assembly which just so happen to come with "free" Cinder. Has anyone seen another coin attempt to use PayPal to sell coins similar to this? I'd love to learn from their experiences.

PayPal's chargebacks are a real issue. It's one thing when selling game credits, but when selling something that actually costs money to restock it's a problem. We need more than crypto-enthusiasts who understand how to use the exchanges. We need regular folks. I'll need to add the option to buy Cinder with Bitcoin directly on Earth Assembly.

You can now send BTC to your Earth Assembly wallet and it will automatically convert to Cinder. The current exchange rate is 12 sats, so those of you familiar with exchanges (probably all of you reading this forum) should stick to buying it on Bittrex or LazyCoin. When the price and volume go up it will be much easier for me to use an exchange API to keep the price on EA more in line with exchange prices.

People new to Bitcoin will have to become familiar with Coinbase or ExpressCoin since, for now, I won't be implementing PayPal. Only Bitcoin and Cinder can be sent to the site, only Cinder can be stored on the site, and all Bitcoin is converted to Cinder upon arrival.

If you add up the coins sold 12/14/2014 at 11:58:33 AM you get the number of coins held by the second FLEX dev who decided to keep his half of the premine: 675k

I'm glad they were dumped for cheap. If the price doesn't begin to drift up too fast I'll be buying more in the next couple weeks. The market cap is WAY too low. If someone spent 9 BTC of Cinder they'd need all of the coins in existence to pay the bill. I might do a couple simple gambling games to encourage people to hold a stash. Checkers, anyone? ;)

If you're on Bittrex you need to move your BTC to...

https://lazycoins.com/

... and your CIN to...

http://www.earthassembly.org/

... or to your wallet to stake for 10% interest.

If you're on Cryptsy you need to move your BTC to LazyCoins, and submit a support ticket telling them to open the FLEX wallet so you can remove your funds to your Cinder wallet, or elsewhere.

Do not buy FLEX on Cryptsy until they update their wallet. I also suggest we don't sell any Cinder under 100 sats on LazyCoins. A lot of coins have been cleared from the market. Let's get our coins staking and let a higher floor build.

I was able to get C-Cex to list Cinder on the voting page.   Help spread the word.

I'd like to see it on Poloniex next. Alts are in a terrible slump right now, so I'm mainly focused on adoption rather than courting speculators. Working my butt off to get Thorns of War online by mid-February.

I think what we need is a second dev who wants to focus directly on the coin itself. We could also use a community manager. Cinder is here to stay, but right now I can't fill all of these roles myself. Once ToW launches I can do more promotion myself, but if the community wants things to happen now you need to step up to the plate. ;)

I made a request and filled out the Polo app for Cinder.  Has anyone else done this?

Here is a btc addy to send some dust if you have any and get Cinder on CCex...

Is there an issue with staking?  The coin specs say 10% stake but I seem to be getting more like 0.165% (averaged over 1 week).

505015.80042185 - 504999.8 = 16.00042185 Total earned after first 7 full days
16.00042185 / 7 = 2.28577455 Daily average
2.28577455 x 365 = 834.30771075 Yearly yield at above daily average
834.30771075 / 504999.8 / 100 = 0.165209513102777466446521364959% Annual percentage

There must be a reason someone is accumulating on Cryptsy. A pump could be coming soon.

It could also be someone's exit plan.

Can't believe Cryptsy finally updated to Cinder. Thanks to them for at least doing it at all =)

Looks like we have something to work with now. I took some time off from Thorns of War development because I was running out of money, but I'm getting warmed up to dive back in now. Thanks to those who've held fast.

If you are a C coder who can switch Cinder to a new code base with faster block times and fewer confirmations, please contact me. I'm focused on Thorns of War's rerelease and the payment processing aspect via Earth Assembly. Frankly I think off-blockchain transactions will dominate on/among websites and Cinder has a good enough block time for its actual usage, but eventually we'd like to be ready for inter-site and inter-device instant micro-transactions. People want to transfer money around the world or face to face as easily as handing someone a dollar bill.

My initial target is 4000 sats. That's about 1 cent USD right now, which, given the number of inactive FLEX coins that most likely got lost along the way, is about a 1 million dollar market cap. Given the usage of Cinder in Thorns of War and on Earth Assembly that should be a reasonable target. Eventual development of in-person exchange tools for smartphones and apps for vendors and ticket booths would push the market cap far beyond that. I highly suggest anyone reading this buy up to 20 sats and hold for 200x profits. A new release date for Thorns of War is coming within the week.
