Post by: tinkersay on November 10, 2014, 07:32:56 AM
... Is there any bitcoin forums, blogs etc that might be visited so that we can  reach out to other users?

I google "bitcoin forum" but forums available has presently low in activity.

This would possibly be the only other community where you would find anybody else. Trust me, Bitcoin isn't that big yet, it was a lot bigger last year around this time when the price started exploding upwards. A majority don't see this as a long term thing but as a get-rich quick scheme which evaporated when the price bubble popped.

Nothin wrong with it. I am just exploring other forums (if there is) I know, not every bitcoin users has a bitcointalk profile.

You'll also find on the various exchanges a lot of Bitcoin users hanging about on chat, since they do so much business there they just seem to hang out there too.

I dont think there are any bitcoin forums with as much activity as this one.

And there is a reason for that. After all, it is Satoshi and many bitcoin founders started this forum.

The Coindesk comments section is a crypto community of sorts
Otherwise yes, very few good options

All other crypto forums are shit and most are dead. Bitcointalk is still the best. I like some bitcoin news sites like Coindesk and Cointelegraph etc.

...

I like bitcointalk because everyone here is decent to beginners, and there is a LOT of good information.

I occasionally read reddit's bitcoin items (blockchain.info offers up interesting reddit leads at their home page).  Which actually raises a question:

Why doesn't blockchain.info link to here anymore?

Bitcointalk is the only bitcoin forum that I participate on.

Therefore anyone participating on any other forum is missing out on my amazing knowledge and advice.

As such, it is a waste of time to participate in any other forum.

Over time as more people learn this, this forum becomes more popular and other forums slowly die off.

Same here!  I have learned a ton of stuff about bitcoin through this forum, but the more I learn, the more questions I seem to have.

Bitcointalk is the only forum you need and that's why none of the others succeed because they're just not required or have the userbase that this one has. I also like the way this forum is moderated any basically anything goes within reason. Most other forums the power goes to the mods head and they just abuse it.

Lol. Maybe they can find it via Google.

I think there are a few active Russian and Spanish forums, but BitcoinTalk and Reddit are the main English speaking forums primarily for Bitcoins. I can find some active Bitcoin topics on non-crypto related forums too.

Crypto Infinity or https://cryptoinfinity.com is another unique crypto currency community with a live chat and game section that allows members to play classic games like frogger, pacman donkey kong and more for chances to win currencies.

The number of participants on these forums are a fraction of the participants that bitcointalk has. The likely reason is because this is the forum that satoshi participated in and likely monitors at least to an extent.

I google "bitcoin forum" but forums available has presently low in activity.

There is also the letstalkbitcoin.com forum, but it's also rather small, compared to this one. They do however give a few altcoins for participating there, such as posting, writing articles, listening to podcasts, etc.. Or at least they did, last I checked some months ago.

For all intensive purposes, "no" there are not other forums where bitcoin/crypto currency can be discusses. All the other forums/groups are much smaller and the members have a much less level of expertise.

You should probably keep up with this forum: http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3543334

It provides the most comprehensive history and in-depth look at all the comedy that is BTC.

idk, I've never been on 4chan.  I think something awful is less creepy, although that would probably be giving goons way too much credit.

Also known as "trollboxes". Don't take anything they say in them too seriously and especially not for fact.

Hashtalk.org is quite interesting if you're into mining, even if you're not it's quite appealing to visit.

I'd mention that www.hackforums.net also have a cryptocurrency section but I wouldn't recomend this forum to anyone. Aside of a handful of comunity members it seems like there's no one else there able to engage on meaningful discussion.

I have visited that forum on a handful of occasions and I absolutely hate it. A lot of it are sellers pushing these ebooks to generate money online and random sales too.

I personally do not like reddit as it is too easy to manipulate which threads/posts are up top/most visible as it is more or less a popularity contest

This forum is better than the other. we are not only focused to discuss bitcoin only, such as economics, politics, and more. This has been a long-lived and thousands of users. there is no reason not to love this board. right?

Yes there are lots of other forums out there where crypto currency can be discussed, Lots of other community out there who protect people from scamers unlike the admins here, the other community are unique in the way they have features and hold events for it's members what dose BTC do ALSO  to say the people on the smaller forums have less experience you would need to know everyone and im guessing by your post you have 3 friends so do not make statements you can not back up.

Perhaps OP would be interested in IRC.  Besides bitcointalk, IRC is where most bitcoin-related communication occurs.

Check out:

#bitcoin on Freenode.

For news, Reddit is the one stop shop for me.  I try some of the crypto news sites, but aside from coinfire a couple others, most of them have had way too much bad history for me to trust.

As far as anything else and actually participating in the community, this is the place.  Mining hardware/knowledge and basically anything you could get from the other sub reddits of the bitcoin subreddits (aside from maybe some notable TA's on bitcoinmarkets) are mostly better picked up from here.

When you are starting out and dipping your feet into crypto, start here.  Once you have a few niche sections of the forum that suit you, you'll naturally find yourself on reddit a more significant portion of the time.

Also, I spend a lot of time on IRC's, but that's personal preference

Don't think there are other English, bitcoin-dedicated forums with decent number of users other than bitcointalk and /r/bitcoin.

But there are popular forums for other languages.

welcome to www.8btc.com,the biggest forum of Bitcoin in China!

How many registered users does it have? Is it the largest Chinese forum?
