My advise, do not buy hardware from unknown company.
Read hardware (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=76.0) thread to find legit company that had good reputation like bitmain, spondoliestech, technobit.

A. Earlier visits were possible by preliminary coordination for some of our wholesale customers. However after several cases of industrial espionage we decided to prohibit personal visits.

Obvious sign of a scam!

“Let’s be clear about one thing,” says Chris Ferguson, Head Manager of MinersLab. “This is not a get-rich-quick scheme. It isn’t easy to get wealthy mining Bitcoin, Litecoin or any other cryptocurrency. But it can be enormously profitable – if you have the right tools.”

I wonder if Doyle Brunson is their CFO.

Let's be clear! One can't get rich mining for gold in the desert, but if you have the right tools, it can be enormously profitable, ergo one can become rich.

I love companies that talk outta their ass.

Did I mention this is a scam?

I found this company this week when looking for a scrypt miner. In monday I will be in a business trip in UK for a few days, so I can try to schedule an appointment. If they are real, I think it will be possible. So, let's see  :)

He didn't say you can't get rich doing it, just that it's not easy. You have to have the right tools - like heartlessness, opportunism and (optionally, if you don't like being in jail) access to industrial fabrication infrastructure on the discount.

I just wanted to punch holes in their FAQs

Quote
Q. Do you accept PayPal or Credit Cards?
A. No. These methods were available earlier, unfortunatly we don’t accept PayPal or Credit Cards anymore due to frequently occurring fraud practices.

But they haven't physically sold any products yet.

Quote
Q. Can I pay cash in your office?
A. Due to security policies and our confidentiality policy we cannot accept this method of payment.

A company that doesn't want to take your money?

Quote
Q. Can I visit your office, data center or manufacturing facilities?
A. Earlier visits were possible by preliminary coordination for some of our wholesale customers. However after several cases of industrial espionage we decided to prohibit personal visits.

So they don't keep confidential data locked up from visitors?

Quote
Q. Can you mark my order as “gift” at shipping or lower the price in documents, enclosed with the miner?
A. No, we cannot send the shipment as “gift”. But we can mark it as “spare parts” and lower the price or the order.

Jokes on you, it was spare parts.

As planned, together with oureptsC we had a meeting with the Minerslab representative. First of all, many thanks to oureptsC and his sister for the welcome. It was really nice to meet you and I hope to see you again.

I was skeptical about this company, but it looks, this trip left a good impression. It was really difficult to arrange it, but we finally found a common ground. After many calls and conversations, I was able to convince that their will not loose anything after meeting with representative of Bitcointalk community.
Well, after we met up with oureptsC I made a call to confirm our appointment. We agreed that their representative will meet us in a concerted place and we will go to test at least one of their miners. After meeting with Walter (ML's representative) we drove to another side of city. In the warehouse, we had ability to see the 10Th/s bitcoin miner in work. Unfortunately we had no ability for longer presentation, but it was enough for understanding that they have at least one miner, that works with its stated parameters.

I planned to buy at least one device but as Walter said, orders were closed one day before because one of their customers made a wholesale order and bought out all available miners, but the next batch is scheduled for January.

Pics or it never happened. Pics of you, the miner, the hashrate or its just bogus. Did it look like the one on the web site where the heatsinks are all positioned in the wrong direction to catch any airflow?  ::)

Not to cast aspersions, but your account activity is might strange, you were a huge poster up until June, then nothing till October, then all of a sudden you are all over this sham/scam company validating it all of a sudden. oureptsC is the same, posting regularly up till June and then nothing till November when he weighs in here to back you up. Smacks of bought accounts, not saying that you are, but its mighty suspicious.  :-\

"Convenient" that they sold the last of their "stock" one day before you arrived ::)

Funny how a company who has an About Us page that says:

Quote
It’s been two years since MinersLab founders decided to create their own cryptocurrency miners. During this time our group of young and ambitious enthusiasts has evolved into a company of like-minded persons, which has attracted experienced top-notch specialists in development of equipment, engineering and management.
At the beginning of 2014 we started a project of developing equipment for mining scrypt cryptocurrencies, which we plan to finish at the second half of 2014. Besides that we are simultaneously developing the second generation of Bitcoin miners. As compared to the first generation, which had a limited run, these miners will be available to a wide range of customers.

And yet the company has only been in existence for 6 months..

I understand but you can see how suspicious you look.

All these guys need to do is send a sample device to a known high profile reliable forum member who can do an independent review. What is so hard about that?

Im gonna guess this was for Gusti's account:

WTS: Legendary BCT forum account 1k+ activity 1k+ post count

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=840130.0

From another thread by the same seller: "Account creation: 1st half of 2011."

Matches perfectly:
Posts:   1097
Activity:   1096
Position:   Legendary
Date Registered:   January 25, 2011, 02:04:46 PM

Except for the avatar, but I guess the buyer accidentally deleted that by trying to change it.

What I can say.. I agree with you, it is not hard. But it is not my company, and I can't answer "why".
By the way, I have asked why they don't even published any video. He said that the person responsible for that is absent, but they will present the video soon.

Back in 2012, Gusti (the real one) spearheaded a project called openbitasic:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=76351.0

The project went nowhere, but he registered the domain, using an email I will not post here, but is easy to find. I emailed that address asking to post some code here to verify the Gusti account was still controlled by him. Instead, I got a reply from that address and from a name that began with Gustavo (same name Gusti used to sign his posts with, same name that registered said domain) :

Quote
"Hi :

I have nothing related to gusti in bitcointalk."

So yeah, the account was sold and you can be sure this whole thing is a plain scam.

Latest email from "you":
Quote
Yes, the account was sold as I was not using it anymore, and the
monetary offer was good.

Anyway, I sold it to a broker for advertizing purposes, I do not
condone any scam or impersonating.

Buyer has not leverage over me, but I do not want my name or email
address appear in the forum anymore.

I have little to no sympathy for the real Gusti who sold his account and must have realized what it would be used for, but Il stil honor his request to not use his name or email to some degree. Anyone who doubts me, go here:

https://whoisology.com/

Using the domain information I posted above, go through the archive and you'll be able to piece together what I did, and confirm what I found.

Confirmed SCAM.

What is wrong with you? I told before that I'm not trying to be a guarantor or something like that.
But your attack looks really strange and I can't understand reason of that. I do not propose you anything (and to nobody at all). And at least for that reason I will not argue.

Anyway, I think if they will present some video, everything will fall into place.

Interesting timeline:

- Form idea for company two years ago.

- Register great company name for tax reasons in July, 2014.

- Purchase great domain name before somebody else does in August, 2014.

- Built website, put in place social media sources, don't create BCT account.

- Welcome two bozos and a sister from the BCT community to show how viable we are.

- Bozos go back to BCT community and report all is well.

- Profit! (unless that psycho Gleb and his minions fuck everything up)

<BTW, I haven't started with that imagination part yet>

Moreover, one idiot placed a negative feedback without any reason. You remind me of jackals.

Keep your imagination with you. I do not want to have anything to do with this bacchanalia.

Nice generic 4U cases. I wonder why they sourced different cases for the SHA256 and the Scrypt miner? Pity we can't really see what is inside, except that the hardware to hold the drive trays are still in place and we get a glimpse of the heat sinks with the fins going side to side against airflow.

All of the mainstream online casino, betting and poker sites are taking a peek at Bitcoin.

Will be drafting an email to all of them after we go open source. I already know Ladbrokes are keen to take a look at new technology to stay ahead of the game  ;)

 ;) ;) ;)

You know what would be funny? If Ladbrokes had the same address as MinersLab.

Amazing! 23 employees, and nary a one are bright enough to come to this forum to espouse their venerable brand, putting the other bitcoin hardware providers to shame, instead leaving it up to two blokes who claimed to have visited their sorry-ass facilities, then reporting back here to only have us destroy their fuckin' brand before they even get off the ground. Fuckin' geniuses!

A legitimate company would never put themselves in such a position, whereas a scam outfit would bend over backwards to see how badly they could fuck it all up. MinersLab falls into the latter camp - SCAMMERS!

Gleb, give it a rest. It has already been demonstrated beyond doubt that they are scammers by the fact they purchased a legendary account to shill and fake a story that someone even just saw their hardware.

Thats a smoking gun if ever I saw one, they have no credibility left, lets not bury the evidence with endless google search results.

I can also confirm that this must be a scam. I asked them if it's possible to buy 3 x 900MH scrypt ASICs, but wanted to visit them, test the ASICs and then to pay. It is about 2,700 km. trip for me and I wanted to make sure they are legit. I also was ready to provide proof (payment, invoice, my company is VAT registered) that I already bought about 45,000 euro worth of miners in the past future. They told me that they have enough customers and they don't have reasons to prove anything (to tell you the truth... I have received that exact answer from many companies (or should I say - "companies"?)).
However, they said that I can visit them, but we must make an appointment 2-3 weeks before visit. Sounds good... instead that they also told me that they have only 5 miners left, which they believe will be sold until we meet. :D I am researching scrypt ASICs market for more than a year and my personal opinion is that this is 99,99% scam.

I can also confirm that Minerslab is a FRAUD. I ordered and paid for a 10TH bitcoin miner. Order was not shipped. After 3 weeks delay, I asked for money back. And the seller, called Walter Maleyson, said it would be credited in a few days. After some time, money back was not credited and the seller does not reply my emails anymore. I filled a fraud report on Action fraud. MINERSLAB IS A SCAM!!! DON'T GIVE ANY PENNY TO THESE SCAMMERS. DON'T BUY IT, YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR MONEY.

There is no "administration blockchain", the biggest upside (and in your case the downside) of Bitcoin is that it is decentralized and nobody can undo transactions that have already been fulfilled.
(except if they send it back themselves, but that is a new transaction)

There is however the chance of finding more information about the company's owners and tracking them down in the hope of getting your money back.

My advice: Make sure you have some basic knowledge of what you are investing your money in...

After writing to their sales department which answered very quickly to any question that I've asked, not one review from their customers that purchased anything from them puts a big question mark on this company. When I asked why there are no reviews or feedbacks left by their customers the answer was :

Most of our customers do not want to share information about their purchase. Moreover, our Privacy Policy do not allow us to share customer's data.
You can see the video of working miners on our YouTube channel.

Precaution should be taken when purchasing anything from them.

It's a 20T machine... it's vaporware.  No one is currently producing anything like this that is a legit bitcoin company.

They keep it up as chances are they made money off of scam.   If they get one order it likely could pay to keep site up for years if they wanted to.

As has been established, they were originally registered as a UK company using a bookmaker's shop address.
They have since changed that to 84 Roman Way, Andover SP10 5JS. This is a terraced house in a residential area of Hampshire, not in London.
It would be a tight fit for the 20+ people in the staff picture, which incidentally, comes from a Finnish version of imgur, just the sort of thing a Latvian living in the UK would use.

I notified https://coinplorer.com/Hardware that they are promoting a scam. I'll post back if they reply to my email and remove Minerslab.

EDIT: Coinplorer replied and removed Minerslab

Hello community, I'm new user here and we have gathered a team and preparing to file a lawsuit against Minerslab. For now it's a small lawsuit 12000$ but we are planning to gather people who were scamed by same site, and join them to the case. Contact me if you want to have a part in it.

I was looking at miner labs for bitcoin miners, but I do my homework and they look just like the phminers and another one I found on the way, honestly the other one had a website exactly the same. But I loose myself, but I did contact them and this was the last reply I got. I know they are scammers and I wish I knew how to remover them from the internet, I think we do need internet police or something. But hey I like messing around with people, especially if they are scammers.

Dear Johnny,

Yes, we know about some people who write bad review. It is a result of buying of our products by customers from so called "resellers" and "dealers" like septriya.com, flashashing.com orhashingminer.com.
As I told you before, we do not have any dealers or resellers, and any company that offer our products is scam. But some customers do not want to believe that our products can't be sold by any other third party. As a result, they cheated, and we can't do anything with that.

You or your representative can visit our office, but the visit should be scheduled at least 10 days before the date of visit. Also, we will need a copy of passport/ID of visitor for security and verification purposes.
But anyway, we do not have so many units. At this moment we have the last 73 units, which I believe will be sold in few days as we have other customers interested in buying of all the rest of miners.

We will not have more miners during the nearest 9-12 months, because we already have a large bulk order from one of our customers.
So I think you should look for another manufacturer who can fulfill your request.

Regards,
Chang Preston

Now as for me first thank you to everyone here who is helping to stop or at least in for very one about scammers. Second, I am looking to build a bitcoin mining farm and looking for help. So if anyone is interested let me know. Thanks, John

Also looking to know if anyone knows anything about the 1 ph miners in china, I looked at the website, but I do not speak or read Chinese. They say 60 or 70 thousand for a 1 ph 16nm miner. Also a big clue for me no one that I have seen yet has pointed out is the 12nm technology of the miners.  And the same is true for the phminers, and both have 15 year warranty, I think I even read 30 year warranty once somewhere. There is also a miner out there that advertise 10nm technology, as far as I know it is not out there yet. hey let's all look out for one another.

"Fake Mining Hardware company "UFOMiners.com" (possibly same as Minerslab)" https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1665331.0

I guess those scammers will never learn until they get slammed for good... then they will learn.
