Oh and no, I don't believe the fucker is innocent one bit, of course there needs to be a proper investigation but I'm convinced either he got someone else to do his dirty work or manipualated data to make it look like it was someone else.
There was always something very wrong with the way MT.GOX operated. It would pop up under a new User ID, spend (for the most part) $2.5m buying bitcoins at the then-current market rate, and then cease trading. It's not that hard to steal the bitcoin and make them dissapear, especially when you're on the inside and as knowledgeable as him. Perhaps he is (temporarily) protected by "handlers" who are powerful and in the shadows? Wouldn't that be convenient if he was to suffer from a "heart attack"? |
