Post by: dlc1962 on January 31, 2015, 02:21:53 AM

A Bitcoin exchange places in the UK, https://www.coincorner.com.
Now allow clients to buy bitcoin and altcoin using debit and credit cards.
This feature is officially in use countless clients some time ago. maybe you can try to open his site

Your best option if you want to use a credit card https://www.circle.com

Are you in the US?

I second that. Circle is hands down the best site to buy BTC with a credit card. The whole process from setting up your account to having your BTC ready takes no more than 5-10 minutes.
You can even use a Visa prepaid card if you're concerned about giving out your CC details.

Didn't I gave you yesterday the Wiki bitcoin link with all the websites that accept Credit Cards to buy Bitcoin ?
You can try https://www.virwox.com , and here is what they accept (fees may be high sometimes , check the list below)
After depositing using the one of the listed methods below , you can withraw your money using BTC by providing them your Bitcoin adress then the money will go to your wallet

  • PayPal: Unfortunately, PayPal charges us fees for its services, which are deducted from your deposit. Also, the fee varies with currency, location of customer, payment method used, transaction size, and the size of our previous transactions with PayPal; so the exact fee is only known to us after the transaction has taken place. As an example, the current fee for deposits in Euro for customers with their PayPal account kept in Euro is 0.35 Euro plus 3.4% of the transaction.
  • Credit/Debit Cards, Skrill (Moneybookers): Similar to PayPal, Skrill charges us fees for its services, which are deducted from your deposit. The current fee for deposits in Euro for customers with their Skrill account kept in Euro is 0.39 Euro plus 3.5% of the transaction.
  • paysafecard: There are over 350,000 sales outlets where you can buy the paysafecard. For this service, paysafecard charges us a fee of 20%, which will be deducted from your deposit.
  • Ukash: For this service, Ukash charges us a fee of 15%, which will be deducted from your deposit.
  • SOFORTbanking: For this service, SOFORT AG charges us a fee of 2.5% of the transaction value, with a minimum of 0.25 Euro (if the transaction value is below 10 Euros), which will be deducted from your deposit.
  • Other Deposits: Other deposits (i.e. deposits of SLL from SL or Avination) are free.

circle works even outside US, if you have an international credit card

You could try circle as others have mentioned, but if you're having trouble why not just withdraw the cash from the credit card and try by any other way. You could buy face to face on local bitcoins or try set up a trade on here using some other payment transmitter like skrill or western union.

Seems like the easiest way to do this is to use faucets. It'll take awhile but what other choice do I have?

Yeah you could try out localbitcoins.com. They offer several payment types...bank transfers, paypal transactions, face-to-face deals etc. Faucets take a lot of time...

As told you should try visiting localbitcoins.com . Its really a nice place to find people around you who are ready to trade.
Localbitcoins would also make you meet some users who are ready to sell bitcoin for cash. So you can easily purchase them using cash without involving banks anywhere.

What is the best way to get started with it since I'm only looking to buy $60-$65 worth of bitcoins?

Did you have a look at Circle? Localbitcoins is ok but you'll have to look for a seller and agree on the price plus it will definitely take longer for you to get your BTC. Circle is instantaneous and you'll get your BTC at market rate no fuss. As soon as you upload money to your Circle account it get automatically converted to BTC that you can withdraw immediately. Honestly I'd trust Circle over Localbitcoins with my CC details.

Well when you buy the BTC, it'll appear in your Circle account which is basically a BTC wallet. You could keep your BTC there no problem, they're insured and pretty safe but if you wanna have your coins in your local wallet on your pc, all you have to do is withdraw the coins to your wallet address. You won't get charged network fees either which is pretty cool  :)

Well I personally never used circle so I would comment about it. But I have used localbitcoins.com , that is a great website where you will get to meet people who live around you and transact in bitcoins. It's always great to know someone who can help you out when you need to buy or sell bitcoins, so I would recommend using localbitcoins because they even let you do cash transactions and I am pretty sure that they would allow bitcoins worth 60-65$ to be transacted and they have a lot of payment options.

What's the big deal?  Just get a checking account.  https://www.coinbase.com (https://www.coinbase.com)

Don't have one. Don't want one. Can you offer some advice besides get a checking account?

That is advice.  I'm not sure how you are going to get through life without a checking account.  Usually people that don't want a checking account are either a teenager, a criminal, or very poor.

Why would you want to go through so much trouble to get a bit of Bitcoin. If you have a Bitcoin ATM near you, use it, the exchange is very fast and you wouldnt need to wait so long, just a driver license to verify, insert cash and done.

There are a very few bitcoin ATMs in this world. It would be a lot of work to find an ATM to buy bitcoins from. Buying bitcoins online is always a better option.

I live on disability and there wouldn't be much in having a checking account considering every month after month after I pay my bills I have zero funds left over. That is why my brother is letting me use his credit card. Does that answer your question well enough?

Yes, I'm in the US. Will any of these put the bitcoins directly in my wallet? I don't want to use paypal because I've been screwed by them before.

You have to give them your wallet address (the long string of random characters, begining by 1)

Buy a very small quantity for testing purposes and see if it arrives good.

Someone mentioned Virwox as a fast way to get BTC but the fees are shit.

DONT use Virwox unless you need mega quick btc for some reasons. Their fees are simply a scam.

I don't see why would you say that they are a scam, sure they have high fees but they would most likely have to deal with the risk of chargebacks with no ID verification.

It's not a scam within itself but the fees are insanely high as far as I know. But yeah i dont know any other ways to avoid ID since most sellers in Localbitcoins want to see your ID...

Okay, I really hope someone can help. I don't have a checking account, I have my brothers credit card, I want to buy some bitcoins and send them to my wallet. I've followed everything everything has told me to no avail. Can someone help me achieve what I want to do?

Its not a scam , but its exploiting what theyre doing with fees.
The best ting op can do is to find localy someone to buy bitcoins from, and avoid any third party and id requests.
