Yes, Bitcoin is actually a very useful currency.

We may need to leave bitcointalk behind to the trolls soon but there will be an option for Bitcoiners to discuss Bitcoin without the constant trolls.

Welllll ... let's see ... an average of 1 month per major theft/hack over the course of the last 5 years ... not a single major exchange has lasted through the history of bitcoin which means basically every single person involved in bitcoin has been seriously outright robbed at some point ... aaaand add to that the fact that a great majority of the bitcoin supply was effectively mined in secret at a zero value which basically renders the entire thing a pump and dump ponzi scheme ... aaaand add to that the fact that the major runup from 100ish to 1200 was done with a *billion* fake non-existent dollars perpetrated by mtgox aka the greatest single monetary theft ever perpetrated in the history of mankind beyond even the likes of madoff and enron ... the real question is ... why does positive news exist at all ? ? ?

One thing that always initiate those negative posts, its the value or current market price of bitcoin. As more and more daily positive news is being promoted in the media, there is the movement of bitcoin that sinks it to further low. The question now is why?

Its due to the downtrend. Negative price breeds negative sentiment.

There are plenty of positives if you look. Coinbase's funding is one of them.

There's plenty of things to be positive about bitcoin right now. Just look at all the millions that are being invested into bitcoin by various people and groups. I know bitcoin seems to be growing at a slow pace but just think of all the future possibilities. Have faith.

Think about the things that got you into it again.

For most people that sadly seems to be greed or to make a quick buck so that wont help if this is the case. I think people just need some patience though as bitcoin is not going to go mainstream over night.

Have you ever heard the saying dont believe everything you read or hear, this is so true with the bitcoin forum.
Lots of trolls here and others who are shorting the market, they want you beleive the FUD they spread and sell your coins.

It's like anything in life, read everything you can then do your own homework and only once you have done all that then make your own disision on what to do.
Always remember the trolls who say BTC is dead and get out asap have there own agender and want you to beleive what they say.
If the trolls who always bag btc have no interest in bitcoin then what are they doing on this forum, killing time and trying to help us I doubt it, they know what there doing... sometimes.
Also never invest more than you can afford to loose.

How can you lose interest? I know things can get a bit boring at certain times but there's always going to be excitement coming at some point. I suppose your level of interest in bitcoin depends on what you want out of it, though.

Most of the news show positive info, but the price show negative info

This is disappointing but I'm sure it wont always be like this and the opposite will happen eventually.

I don't think it's the majority but it's the majority of the people that get vocal about it when it's not going as planned. IF you can see the possibility of bitcoin for the future then people won't be as worried. If it's going no where after 3/4/5 years then maybe we might have a problem but bitcoin will take some time to find its footing.

I know bitcoin is revolutionary but when it loses value day after day for 14 months many will think like OP and it's pretty normal. Even early adopters who still havent sold have lost a fortune and every time we get the same argument to wait for 5-10 years and come back. Although i believe bitcoin will eventually skyrocket, but the price plays with peoples emotions, watch when it goes into bullish rally then those who haven't bought will start to whine.

The old saying is true ..... "Bad NEWS sell papers"

Trolls are everywhere, just use your "ignore" option, if you spot them on the forum. I do that, and I have a good experience.

They tend to pop out of the woodwork, when the BTC price drops. I even see pro-bitcoiners go troll, when the price drop too low. {We are only human}  ;)

If they think like this then sadly they've better get used to it. The value also hasn't fallen constantly. There have been a few rallies, though few is the keyword here. I also don't think people will have to wait 5-10 years to see the price skyrocket, but 2-3 is reasonable. I guess all we can do is wait.

-Continued adoption, continued development, continued investment
-Microsoft, Dell, Overstock, Newegg, Mozilla, Wikimedia, Expedia, Paypal all accept it
-NYSE, BBVA, DoMoCo all investing $75 million into Coinbase exchange
-COIN ETF launching this year
-Winklevii launching Gemini exchange this year
-Bitcoin/Crypto talked about in more positive light at this years Davos world economic summit
-More and more Bitcoin ATMs opening up around the world
-NY Bitlicense launching soon, not as strict and restrictive as once presumed, allowing more innovation
-More mentions in media and movies
-Andreas Antonopolous wrote first technical book published by O'Reilly Press: "Mastering Bitcoin"
-Various startups gaining steam:  Changetip, Xapo, Purse.IO, Brawker, Ledger, Tresor, etc
-We have not even reached Bitcoin 1.0, still in Beta.

There's plenty to be cheery and hopeful about, just have to give BTC time to grow.

Indeed. The situations is getting out of hand. The rate of which that is happening has slowed down a bit (it was worse after the market spike), but it's still talking.
What solution will be presented as the next option for Bitcoiners?

OP, you should read Bitcoin related news sites often. Something like coindesk, they often have positive news in regards to Bitcoin.

It would be nice to let us know what negative posts you see about Bitcoin . and if you mean in Btctalk then .. people are simply trolling or simply lost huge amounts of money and blame bitcoin for their failure like "bitcoin used only for illegal things , drugs , weapons blah blah" ..
the goods things that are happening now to Bitcoin is that a lot of companies from time to time start accepting Bitcoin as payment method or Donation method . (Wikipedia , Microsoft , Mozilla firefox , and alot more )

Things have never been that positive.
Price has corrected and is back to it's long term pre-2013-bubble trend where it belongs.
Exponential-growth myth is busted, there will be less wishfull speculation from now leading to less volatility / more stable price, which means that at last Bitcoin will start being useful as a transactional currency.
Blockchain technology has evolved a lot in a year and there are many exciting new innovations at the horizon.

I never got into bitcoin because of the $1000 spike, or the potential to make money. I got into bitcoin to support the idea of exchanging a commodity for goods via a decentralized network. If banks put something back into the users, it would be good. But at the end of the day most, if not all, banks charge bank fees for accounts, transaction fees, higher interest rates charged vs interest rates on investments etc. All other variables aside, a bank is a business to make money. Bitcoin is a method designed not to put money in one particular organizations pocket or wallet. Transaction fees go back into the network for example.

Bitcoin is positive. If a bitcoin was worth exactly $1 and assuming it was much easier that it is to mine, I would be happy.

Observe the Australian Taxation Office sneaking into bitcoin. https://www.ato.gov.au/General/Gen/Tax-treatment-of-crypto-currencies-in-Australia---specifically-bitcoin/

If this rumor is true, then that's alot of masses following.

If you are loosing interest in bitcoin, maybe step away from it for a while.

I can help you out with some loose change. Just be sure not to lose it. Put it in the bank, so you won't lose any interest. Buckle up your shoes, pull up those loose trousers and find something you love and can lose yourself in. Don't tell people about it, because loose lips sink ships. Just gather all your passions and let loose. Loosey goosey it!

Just Google Bitcoin news every day and you will see how many huge companies are investing in the future of Bitcoin.
You may lose interest, but the business world has not.

hey guys, i've always see negative post about bitcoin
are there any positive things about bitcoin that are currently happening now?

It may be not a bad thing.
After all, bitcoin was created to act as a payment tool...
I don't think you're that much interested in other currencies/ payment systems*, you just use them without much thinking.

* hmm, maybe except being interested how to obtain as much of them as possible :þ

Well... you can't blame a decentralized currency for getting a bad rep... The press is blatantly pointing out it's association with black markets and terrorism etc. But in truth, one should ask themselves, which came first? Bitcoin or black markets, terrorism etc? I think bitcoin is not at fault cause paper money has been used for that sort of thing way before bitcoin's birth. Besides, bitcoin in itself is not entirely untraceable, smuggling money overseas is not full-proof with bitcoin...

... aaaand add to that the fact that the major runup from 100ish to 1200 was done with a *billion* fake non-existent dollars perpetrated by mtgox aka the greatest single monetary theft ever perpetrated in the history of mankind beyond even the likes of madoff and enron ... the real question is ... why does positive news exist at all ? ? ?

MtGox - $450 million (at the time), 850,000 btc (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mt._Gox)

Madoff - "Prosecutors estimated the size of the fraud to be $64.8 billion, based on the amounts in the accounts of Madoff's 4,800 clients as of November 30, 2008."  (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madoff_investment_scandal)

Enron - "Enron shareholders filed a $40 billion lawsuit after the company's stock price, which achieved a high of US$90.75 per share in mid-2000, plummeted to less than $1 by the end of November 2001" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enron_scandal).  Regardless of the exact amount, it was well over $450 million.

Why is there any positive news about the dollar????

I find it interesting that OP is "loosing" interest.  Loosing?

My interest level when I first heard about bitcoin again and again, when Shrem would buy ads on Free Talk Live years ago, was sickening and didn't want anything to do with it. It finally clicked a few years back and have been doing my own homework pretty much everyday since then. It's a way of life at this point, folks.

Just messing, I thought this was the Off topic thread.   ::)

That said it's hard to lose interest, when it's actually in the news nowadays.  Silk Road's Ulbricht just got the book of life thrown at him and NY just released the latest revision for the Bitlicense regulatory framework for virtual currencies.

Bitcoin is still marinating folks, year 6 people, they'll be plenty of time for lots of interest once it goes viral.

are there any positive things about bitcoin that are currently happening now?

All the news is positive for the most part, its just a few naysayers.  If you were initially interested to get rich quick then i urge you to think of wider social implications.

Get rich quick is a no-go on bitcoin anymore, no longer will we see value to go up 10 folds in a few months time range.
Speculators are now more involved in btc in the long run, timing investment in range from 5 to 10 years.

@OP don't know why u would say that you're loosing interest, when bitcoins time just started, and every day brings new additions.
There must be something that suits your needs; if you're bad at trading, consider giving bitcoin related loans or services.. there's something for everyone

+1, very true...
@OP, When you want anything to change and it doesn't change, you just be the change... Also, you need to look your viewpoint at how you see it in some cases; and not how it is described...
