How do you feel about Bitcoin patents? Does anyone know Richard Crites? Other Names Used: Richard Crites, Richard R Crites Don't know what is this about, but looks like he just saw the idea of P2P marketplaces and decided to patent it as his own invention. I don't see how he intends to make any money on that. Just another case of patent trolling? You can apply for a patent but they will refuse it after a long winded examination.

You can apply for a patent but they will refuse it after a long winded examination. In theory - yes. But don't think patent offices do much (if anything) to check whether the idea is new/unique. They'd grant almost everything if application is presented in the right way. If you disagree, you can object (upon paying hefty fee). The 'protection of ideas' turned into full blown industry. Lol..I dont think they have been granted..its just waste of money trying to get them patented..pretty hard to do..n mostly be rejected. He's not talking about patenting Bitcoin, but Bitcoin related inventions (could be anything really).
