I rule of thumb if the coin uses coin.conf 99.9999% of the time it is a bought coin and will die soon after launch. The difficulty will get stuck since the re target does not work good. Since the person who bought the coin does not really know how to program so it dies.

There are some coins that are 'stuck' at a high diff because the miners left. With 360 blocks in between re targets and being a SHA256 coin this could get 'stuck' or slow way down to a crawl very easy.

It says 360 blocks between adjustments so it should adjust at block 4320 which is 133 more blocks to go. Looking at the pool it is showing 29 minutes per block. So at the current rate it will take about 64.3 hours or almost 2.67 days until the next diff adjustment.

The Specs say 1 minute block times with 6 hour re-target which is way too far apart between re-targets.

Maybe , its going to get backed by gold in the near future ? that would really bring this coins's price up , as i belive there's actually not a single coin out there that is backed by gold.

XAUcoin crypto is a symbol index of precious metal gold

In regards to xaucoin becoming increasing rare and difficult to mine it should hold a scarcity value first against other crypto currency as a trading mechanism and could be linked to physical gold stocks somehow in the future

Yes difficulty re target is far from being perfect

also remember no one is mining so network is very slow all PoW only coins rely on people mining and stable hash rate even Bitcoin especially

xaucoin pool had a very high hash rate at the start and people got the coins they wanted and stopped mining we look to hire some hash rate maybe however it is still worth mining and supporting xaucoin we will get code on github soon and review difficulty re target algo

been mining for awhile but of course my usb hub goes out and i can't plug them directly into my laptop.

I downloaded the Mac-qt and when I run it the wallet wants to make changes to my computer, WHY? This has not occurred with any other wallet? Be careful, please explain...

when i open it up in the roaming folder avast deletes the qt, but when i put the folder on the desktop and open the qt avast allows it.. How strange, this is on windows 7 32bit. Oh well i'll just keep it on the desktop lol

remember everything runs from and is stored in the same folder as the QT your wallet.dat blockchain info

xaucoin it is more like a portable app you can copy and run the entire folder to external hd or usb and still run xaucoin

always backup all wallet.dat

Problem solved now, it was Avast because i gave your wallet and the rest of my pc a blast with malwarebites. Your wallet never even showed up, but i did have 2 other bugs! Not from your wallet.

hopefully its something technically wrong temporarily with the back end only

edit: dogecoin last block age just changed from 5 hours to 4 mins hopefully they actually restarted a daemon and didnt just change a meta value

CrytpoGator.net Doesn't seem to have the ability to even answer support tickets or PM's, their wallets are 12hrs behind yet nobody is informed of what is going on...

I'm now thinking its a SCAM Exchange and its sole purpose of existence is to take your hard earned BTC and altcoins. (but i could be wrong)

yes all false positive identifications for a Generic Bitcoin Miner basically the mining software incorporated in the wallet for function

It stems from the early Bitcoin days before ASIC mining and between cpu gpu SHA-256 mining still being viable

operators of actual malicious trojans and botnets would install minerd onto peoples machines packaged as bloatware malware to mine bitcoins for them without the users knowledge which of course is not worth while any longer in terms of cpu mining bitcoins

consequently any new QT .exe and especially portable apps containing SHA-256 or Scrypt minerd can therefore show false positives as a Generic.Bitcoin.Miner which is harmless mining software unless controlled by another actual malicious software xaucoin is not doing this obviously

Interestingly enough a 32 bit compile of the same source will present this warning when a 64 bit compile often does not because it is not identified as WIN32.Generic

After 24hrs they finally updated their wallets and credited me with my 10K XAU, I've now made a withdrawal request, its in a pending state.... Maybe in another 24hrs they'll update their wallets again and send it..... I'm not removing the negative trust til i receive my coins!!

The rewards past block 18900 will only be 0.9765625 XAU.

So who will be mining this coin next week with a reward of only 0.9765625 XAU per block? Then after another week you will be mining for transaction fees only. Looks like a hard fork will be needed or is this just a short life coin since it does not seem like the Dev planned out more then just a launch and getting it to a exchange.

@xaucoin, would it be possible to add coin control to the next wallet update, the reason why i'm asking is that when i send a small amount it takes it from a block then the change automatically goes in to a different address my wallet has just created, This new address isn't visible......

So by adding coin control we could send the change back to our main wallet address. Just a thought!

It appears we have two coins "Xaucoin" (this one) and "Xaurum", both with the symbol "XAU". At the very least I'd contact all major exchanges that might list either (or both) of them to let them know to warn users about this, otherwise it's likely to harm both coins...

Rarity by itself is not guaranteeing high price, if there is no interest in the coin. Only if there is liquidity, rarity may help the price.

slow although steady progress on updates for a new wallet to github should be ready before the block reward hits zero

p2pool is being considered as the best way to mine when the block reward has dropped to zero to keep the network moving

You probably should help in promoting the coin. Most coins die from a lack of interest, being a pump n dump scam, or faulty/ non- working tech. It looks like the coin works, the dev seems to be active and working on this regularly, so all thats left is promotion. Promote the coin, generate some interest in what is already here and then you might see prices rise. A coin with limited supply and a huge community can generally do well as long as the dev and the coin can avoid scams and FUD.

I dont have any skin in this game, i was just checking things out cause i saw McKnight here.

EDIT: xaucoin- you might want to decrease block times in the future to make sending and receiving coins between the exchange and wallet faster. people love a fast coin. Also, what are your plans when you hit maximum coin supply? You will still need people mining with PoW for the transactions to go through. Im a miner, I won't mine for tx fees alone unless the value is extremely high. PoS is an option, even if staked blocks are only .00001 + tx fees. just a thought

EDIT 2: xaucoin- also, i do like the fact you targeted solo miners in your op. This is a big plus in my book. You gained a lot of respect for that alone.

I'm using 1 board of an antminer S1 underclocked about 60 Gh/s, it probably uses the same amount of electric as a pc and a couple of U1's turned on all the time so not a lot of difference in electric cost i think.

I'll permanently leave it running on this project to keep the chain moving.

i gave up on it. the only way i can see doing it is if you dump the controller board, wire in a cp201 uart to usb bridge and then use bfgminer to detect and over/under clock the chips. you would need 1 bridge to each hash board i believe and with the low hash rate vs the power consumption of the s1, you'd be better off buying the u3 and soloing with that. 7queue,

Well i've been trying all day and still can't do it..... Given up now lol, But i did find a couple of U1's so i had those mining earlier but the diff is a little high at the moment and taking ages to find a block. only found 5 blocks in 5 hours.... 4 GH/s

Yeah thats where I was with S1. My old u2's were hashing until yesterday. Doing some maint on my set up and when I'm done I'll put them back on it if the diff isnt too high.

Any updates xaucoin? We're getting very close to block 42000, I was thinking that maybe increase the transaction fee, it would give us miners a little more incentive maybe to 0.1XAU.

You could always reduce the fees after the price goes up! thats just me thinking out loud.....

@jeffery_dahmer i've just fixed up an old pc yesterday and i'm going to try solo mining with my S1's using multiminer. Have you tried this yet?

Well it seems like the XAU in this thread is not the XAURUM from https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=970586 which is being revived. In the first pages of the old thread, Aurum Project (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=457348) and xaucoin (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=465081) are debating. This goes back to March 2015 ... I'm going through the threads to try to understand what this is all about ...

I mined this coin some years back, how do i get a new wallet? my Avast removed the exe file when i tried to launch the old wallet, so I figure an update is in order.
