Title: Sorry, y'all: Game Over. I'm about to buy all the bitcoin.
Post by: LoweryCBS on August 03, 2012, 02:50:54 AM
Here's a screenshot of my shopping cart right before I checkout on Mt.Gax:

So anyway, now that I'm about to own all the bitcoin, I think I'm going to rename it, "LoweryCBScoin" - whadaya think?

Wow - is that a phishing site? Or are they trying to run a real exchange off of Mtgox's reputation?
Looking at the price, I guess it's just a weak scam. I wonder if they've caught anyone.

wow, that's quite the domain he's sitting on..

i thought you photoshopped the picture there, especially the "let us exchange profit togather here."  that's comical.  i'm glad they typo that so its easy for aimless noobs to hopefully figure out that it's not the real site.

Why is it that all the phishing/foreign sites always fuck up the punctuation and spaces? It's always like "word , word" or "word, word" when proper use is "word, word"

This site is the same scammer as Easzpay.com (which has since been taken down), or at least is using the same PayPal address:
 - securecashsolution@aol.com

Because such pages are constructed and controlled by bots.
?

I doubt that a bot would be sophisticated enough to automatically construct all of Mt. Gax.

Ah, ...  I think my DNS had it cached.

That was a visually decent looking site (the lorem ipsum aside).  Too bad that talent went to scamming rather than towards building a legit service.

Absolute worst grammar/spelling from any site that I've seen (not counting sites that do that on purpose.)

And the social networking buttons at the bottom still have "MtGax" in the links.

Yes, MTGOX == Magic The Gathering Online eXchange. According to this article (http://bitcoinweekly.com/articles/the-bitcoin-security-challenge-part-i), the original codebase was a Magic trading platform with some tweaks added to make it work with Bitcoin.

This must be a well-paying scam, ...

It started out as  EaszPay.com, til that got shut down.

Then MtGix.com ... for several weeks, but now shut down.

And ... the latest incarnation:

The PayPal account has changed though, and now the scammer is receiving payment through: pay.techo@live.com

That is the common denominator.

The current incarnation:
  BitcoinTalks.com

The e-mail address for that PayPal account:  bitcointalks.org@live.com

Previous scams (in chronological order) likely by the same scammer:

 - EasZPay.com   [Fixed.]
 - MtGax.com
 - MtGix.com
 - i4Dollars.com
 - BTKoin.com

There was one other, I can't remember the domain.

Please report this scammer as badware:
