Title: Broke my GLBSE authenticating phone. Post by: caish5 on August 03, 2012, 01:06:07 PM So my Android started behaving weirdly and slugggishly. I think to myself "No problem a quick reflasing of firmware will sort this out".
Firmware reflashed, phone back to normal but no GLBSE in authenticator. Is my account now lost to the ether? My computer is logged in to GLSBE but if I ever log out or want to withdraw.... .Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this? I emailed support but no reply yet. Nefario replied to my support email and requested a 0.01 deposit from my original deposit address to prove I owned the account. Quite a neat solution and a great relief. I can't take the credit for this idea, it was another GLBSE user who proposed it to me when they had the same issue. Smart users make it easy to provide a service. You need to get people to sign a random character message with a bitcoin address they want to use for 2 factor then when they want to authenticate sign another random character message with the same address to ensure they are the same person or at least control the private keys. Post by: smickles on August 04, 2012, 01:34:01 AM people should make a copy of the key used to setup the 2 factor system (that qr code and the data it represents) before you put it on your phone.
That way, if you lose the phone, you can recover the key and continue to use the same one time passes.
