Since we received a reasonable question regarding exactly what are we going to advertise, we thought it's best to answer it here:

We will be posting banners with a link, description and category of any bitcoin related website. So any owner could post their website for free.

so what will be your source of traffic to get btc related users to see that banners, i would like to know about this that kind of advertising  concept seems interesting to promote our business link with banner with description.

We separated all categories in different pages, so that you can see/share/promote your top list! We hope you will like this new feature.

So far we have spread banners through adbit.co at 15+ sites but it seems that the efficiency is not what we expected. We are still waiting almost 24 hours to have our banner approved at coinurl and we will use the results to make the review for their site.

Today was a good day, we posted some links in other directories, started advertising at bee-ads, and the result is more than doubled traffic :)

We can't wait to start advertising with Coinurl but it's been already 2 days of waiting until their support approves our banner. What a shame for such a good site, they promised some improvements though and we hope that they will really realize them.

By the way, don't you think 2.15% is unreal high CTR for moonbit.co.in?

Agreed, any CTR over 1% or 2% is unlikely to be genuine.

However your table doesn't take into account the number of AdBit ad spaces that this is spread across. For moonbit.co.in there are 4 AdBit ad spaces so the average CTR per ad unit is more like 0.6% - you can see this by going to https://adbit.co/?a=Advertise (https://adbit.co/?a=Advertise) and clicking the Show button to expand the ad spaces. The 4 spaces are currently getting a CTR of between 0.2% to 1.2% each.
This tends to vary day to day depending on the quality of the banner ads that are showing - if they are good (and relevant) then the CTR increases naturally of course.
I think it would be more useful if your table showed the average CTR per ad space - i.e. the total CTR divided by the number of ad spaces. Then it would be very clear which ones are not genuine - those that stay consistently above 2% is probably a good rule of thumb.

Another factor is the position of the ad spaces - moonbit.co.in has them in very prominent places (e.g. just below the faucet claim form etc) which will naturally lead to a higher CTR, and therefore better value for the advertiser. Some other faucets hide their ad spaces way off below the fold.
 
Finally, don't forget that AdBit shows UNIQUE views and clicks only - so these CTRs cannot be directly compared to what you might see elsewhere (e.g. AdSense). For faucets in particular, the true number of views is much higher than shown (moonbit.co.in gets over 250,000 non-unique views per day) but the clicks are probably not much different - resulting in a much lower true CTR.

We have not noticed that our CTR currently is combined for all adspaces.

And we haven't noticed that the views are unique, but they obviously are, yes.

So the whole CTR column loses it's meaning - it should be = All views/all clicks. Even if we divide id by the number of adspaces, it would still be more than 2x higher than the real CTR ratio. So for now, unless someone gives better ideas, we are going to remove this column.

I think the column is still useful even if it is not true CTR (because its unique views/clicks only) - it provides a way to compare sites against each other. But because an advertiser would be bidding on a particular "ad space", not just on a "web site" I think it needs to take this into account somehow.

Having said that, I think people place too much emphasis on CTR - after all it is largely influenced by the quality of the current advertisers.
In my opinion they should be looking more at the following factors when choosing which site/ad space to bid on...
1) Unique views - obviously the more different people see your ad the better
2) Ad placement - is it above the fold and/or in a prominent place, so that visitors will actually see it
3) Site relevance - are the visitors to this site going to be interested in your advert

If these are all good, then you will most likely get better results from your bid. Obviously only (1) can be seen from AdBits web site list and your table. (2) and (3) require some manual investigation!

That's true. That's why we think CPC is far more useful column - you should combine these factors with the average cost per click, and try to judge if it's worth it for you.

We looked deeper through moonbit's stats and got amazed how adbit is calculating the values.

It seems that in the adspaces subtable the views are unique, clicks are not unique (total unique clicks are with 100+ less than the sum of the clicks for each adspace).

We could implement more precise table with unique CPC, but technically this would need parsing in a second table in the database and redesigning the current table, so it's not worth the efforts now when we're working on something else. We don't think we are the ones that should try to improve adbit's table instead of them anyway :)

Yep, that's the main difference - advertisers pay only for unique clicks. We think that paying for a time period or impressions is way too ineffective. Coinurl has campaigns for clicks, but their fees are just insane 50%-85%.

Obviously we can add a few improvements to our website - it's just 1 week since we opened this platform, so if we see that people want to try something innovative we will keep improving.

You can check our two running campaigns at the moment to see how things work, and always ask us if any questions, even though we tried to make everything as simple as possible.

what is min payout for publishers?

It's 90% of the advertiser's campaign price. The minimum campaign price is 0.01 btc so the publisher gets 0.009. If the campaign is worth 0.2 btc, publisher gets 0.18 btc etc.

Well, this is a bit more complex. If the minimum is 0.001, only the transaction fee will be 10% of the amount. Also, the auto payments will be too often and too expensive - their amount is equal to the minimum bid of 0.01 atm.

Your point is reasonable though. Maybe it will be good that we implement a 10 clicks minimum campaigns instead of 0.01 btc, what do you think?

I think it is better to ask advertisers in this specific point.

As for the publishers I suggested that leave them the ability to determine the minimum withdrawal.

Hm what is the point? If you set a very low minimum, there will be multiple transaction fees of 0.0001 for each of the auto-rewards, which may eat like 10% from the publisher's profit.

Currently, the rewards are auto payed in portions of 0.01, and if the campaign is for a smaller amount it is just payed out at once when it's finished.

Minimum price for campaign is now not 0.01 btc, but 10 clicks. That means that the absolute minimum now is just 0.001, to allow more people to try the unseen efficiency that we provide.

Hello, this means that noone viewed the page with your adspace for at least 24 hours so it was deleted. This is done to prevent someone making too much adspaces withouth the intention to use them.

Hello. Make a advertisement space for BitRevenues.com. Pasted the code into the website. Removed it right after I saw how it look. I would suggest AdBTC to have a good placeholder to place on the blank slot. Look at AdBit.co, there have a advertise here banner which look much better.

We want to inform everyone for the upcoming downtime, which will hopefully not last more than a week.

Due to the great advertising opportunities that came true thanks to the opening of Mellowads.com, we feel that there is no more need that we offer unique CPC and unique CPC network campaigns (adflows) - you can just use them as they are big enough, and offer the lowest possible fee - no fee at all. We're also happy to use their great platform for our partners websites which btw are about to increase soon. We know how hard it is to run an advertising network, so we wish them good luck with handling everything.

So we are preparing a major update, which will combine our bitcoin directory and advertising platform in one, add a new category which would allow referral links, and completely change the way it will work.
As a sneak peek we are just going to say that it will no more sort the top sites by payed votes. The sorting will be based only on the number of unique visitors that we manage to bring you thanks to our network of partner websites. Finally the changes are mostly done, and the site is up again!

We now have a universal 468x60 adspace currently displayed at 5 websites and available to be displayed by whoever wants to become a partner (he will be payed for that of course, daily, if there is any payed ad for the day). On this adspace anyone can publish free or payed ads.

Payed ads are displayed in that banner in 90% of the time, depending on their daily share.
If there are two payed ads worth 0.0001 and 0.0002 btc each, the first gets 30% share of the total network and the 2nd one - 60%.

All free ads are displayed in the remaining 10%. If there are no payed ads, all ads are displayed randomly.

Starting from tomorrow all payed votes from the old site will be converted into shares for 30 days.
This means that if you had 5% of the total votes that all sites had, now you will have a 5% share of all impressions in our network.

By the weekend we will open the "promote" functionality so that you can buy or increase your shares.

This month the network pool will be at least 0.011 btc daily because of the distribution of the old votes. This basically works like the Network campaign in Mellowads, but the CPM should be a lot cheaper. The less people pay to advertise, the cheaper it is - up until 50k daily views for 1 satoshi :)

We hope that the Promote page is clear enough (ask if not), in the table you can immediately see for any price how much will be your share of total impressions as well as expected views of your ad.

Of course. We have a fake traffic detection (not 100% accurate, but good enough) and more importantly you can check your unique clicks. Even every ip, so you could check your traffic yourself.

Last day there were 90 unique clicks in the whole network. But we have no guarantees if people will click - we just show your ad.

Yes, we had an ad with 3% share and one with 30+% share and both were getting almost the same amount of clicks, so ad design really matters a lot.

We want to thank to our new partners for becoming publishers, as now our network unique impressions have doubled in the last week.

Our network pool is still small enough (from tomorrow only 0.0012 btc), so for advertisers we think that we are still by far the cheapest place to advertise (currently almost 20x cheaper than Mellowads and a lot more than the other networks).

Today we also made a few optimisations and improvements, and our website is a lot faster now.

If you have payed even 1 satoshi for your ad, it becomes lifetime. The free ads are given renewal links by e-mail yes.

We got banned by blockchain.info to use their API for no reason, so we are changing with another API today. Withdrawals are already available again, and we hope that by tomorrow promoting will be available too. We could promote your website manually too, if you make a request by e-mailing us.

I think the best method is to allow people to choose their own withdrawal amount (i.e., no minimum), and just charge the transaction fee. That way if someone wants to withdraw 0.0003, they can, and you still aren't losing money by doing this often.

Currently we covered the network fee, so if someone chooses to withdraw 0.0003, we should have payed 0.0001 which is 33% fee. But we think you are right that we should not restrict people, so we will just let them pay that fee themselves and withdraw whenever thay have more than 0.0001. So this will be implemented today.

By the way, Blockchain.info removed their weird ban on our ip after 4 days waiting, just before we were going to change them. The result was that the network pool got doubled and now we have more partners so the unique network views also doubled. Our cheap ad prices finally seem to attract more advertisers.

The next thing that we are considering to implement are specific country targeted advertising. Any ideas and wishes are still welcome, as the logic is still not constructed.

We are just starting to look for a solution for this... Please excuse us today, obviously we tried to serve too many impressions than our server can handle. We will give updates here and on twitter.

We are back, our country targeting implementation was causing a huge overload of the server so we removed it.
Big apologies for our downtime.

It shouldn't be a problem now that we handle 50-100+ thousand unique impressions of the banners.
And only a week ago we were at 10-15 thousand.

Also, the network pool is very small today so every click that we provide you will cost you only about 2000 satoshis!

For a comparison, the same price at the other cheapest place to advertise - Mellowads, is currently 17000 satoshis.

Again, cheap advertising today, and smooth service after we made some optimizations. Just in case, we are going to upgrade our server before we continue accepting new publishers.

It's great to see the site still rolling along. But with the low advertiser pool, what happens if it doesn't grow for a while? Seems like you're already taking a financial hit.

All of our publishers are getting payed great so far. The top ones are getting close to 0.005-0.01 btc daily for a single 468x60 banner. Every drop in the pool means very cheap advertising opportunity, so people just won't miss that.

You could see our current CPC and CPM prices at the front page as a proof how cheap it is to advertise through us.

That's right, but it still couldn't be defined as a "hit" when the overall trend is growth. We even intentionally paused our growth now before we move to a more powerful server and be ready to handle the growing number of impressions served by our new publishers.
Our fee is too small to cover the costs yet right, but hopefully soon enough it will. Our highest priority though is to maintain a very good service for a low cost.

Yes, we weren't online this weekend and couldn't finish the transfer to the new server. So today we stopped the ads because the old one would get overloaded.
This means that today there will be no payouts, and no advertisers will be charged. Hopefully tomorrow we would be able to make everything work again on the new server.

You should really give people a heads-up prior, so publishers can swap out ad blocks to continue getting revenue.

Of course, but the only thing we could do is tweet about it and pause the banners as from the location we were at the internet connection was the worst possible ever... Anyway, it's our fault so we are very sorry and will try to compensate everything. Publishers shoulndn't have any impact on their other revenues as our adspace is transparent when paused, and not consuming any resources.

Yes, the concept is to give free 10% of the total network impressions to the free ads, without impacting the revenue of the publishers.

There's a bug on the payment page. No matter how much you set it to pay (even 10 BTC a day) it always shows:

Estimated average daily impressions after this order: 0

This means that it works as it should - it calculates the latest speed of showing the ads to make that estimation. So as that speed now is zero, it estimates also zero impressions. As soon as we resume, that number should start growing.

Some ads still get clicks directly from the table on the index page of our website, which is also counted. In your ad visitors stats you can see them with referrer = adbtc.info.

So that means that this number is the clicks delivered by our site in the last 24 hours. They are free for everyone.

They are included in the stats as our website also brings traffic for the ads, yes. That was the idea of our front page - to provide additional advertising for our top sites.

It looks like minimum Alexa rankings are taking over BTC ad networks. Not sure if I'm for or against this yet, but it definitely helps prune out those using fake traffic generators so that's a plus.

Some time ago we were against it, but experience shows that such a restriction is very healthy so we hope to have made a good decision.

You'll need to stress that the lower view counts are higher quality, I think. The premise behind your site has been the cheap advertising. Removing a lot of sites means less views for the same BTC. Some advertisers may not understand that and why it's good for them.

That's true, but it's hard to convince anyone in anything without showing real results or facts. So far we keep growing, and hopefully if we keep up in this direction the results will be better and better and more people will see that. That's how we want to convince people, not by just talking.

Hmmm, yeah, not sure how to qualify the results... but in any case, adding news about the change to the site should be helpful to explain what happened (sorry, this is the Internet marketer part of me taking over, :P).

We don't want to convince anyone that we are better than anyone, as all ad networks have some specific features. We can only compare things like prices, fees, traffic, etc., which everyone could do for himself.

What we wanted is to combine what we think are the good features of the ad networks in one place - ease of use, valid traffic for cheap prices, daily profits for all publishers, trackable results. If we keep improving in these directions, that's what the meaning of the word "better" is for us. No need to compare with anyone else. Everyone has tastes and the more diversity of advertising options, the better for everyone :)

+1. Also, as a publisher, you should use multiple networks. As an advertiser, you should as well. "Don't put all your eggs in one basket" is related to both of these.

Tomorrow our -10% discount for everyone is ending, and so far there is not much interest in it.
This means that it's even more valuable for the ones who take advantage as now the pool is very small and you could get a lot of traffic for a cheap price :)

Can you tell me what kind of sites are accepted in your network? I have been with another ad network and even though they look really legit, the traffic I've been getting are kind of really bad.

We disapprove websites which:

• Are placed on free domains/subdomains.
• Are not in the top 2 million sites ranked in Alexa.com.
• Have pages that have malicious code or illegal or adult content or links to such content.
• Promote or facilitate illegal or legally questionable activities such as pirating and hacking.
• Overlay or hide our ads, or overlay them with other ads; Our ad code must be well visible on the approved website and can not be put in other pages, scripts or frames.
• Place our ads on auto-refreshing pages.
• Contain materials of violence, obscene or vulgar language and abusive content.
• Display excessive number of ads or pop-unders.

Also, we are checking every click you get and count only clicks from good IPs. You could check the number of invalid clicks too from the page with your ad visitors.

We are considering an adult category though, as well as profiles for publishers from which they can choose which categories can be shown on their site, so expect that in the near future.

I think that BitMedia is a lot more limited on publishers than most other sites are, so it would make sense. They are also proactive in getting new people on board.

We don't check manually all traffic, we have automated this as much as we can. For both the views and the clicks. But if we find something suspicious we make manual checks. In the last week we have banned more than 3 "high traffic" sites, regardless of their Alexa rank.

We thought a lot about all these faking views sites, and decided to make a very big change in the way the revenue for the publishers is calculated.

From tonight, instead of calculating the revenue based on unique views, it will be counted based on unique clicks. This way we will focus mostly on detecting fake clicks, and publishers will hopefully focus on placing our ad well and providing good traffic.

We really hope that this change will have good impact on the network.

This is an interesting transition. While I'd normally be against it (since nobody can control whether or not people click your ads), I think in this case it works since theoretically all equal sites should get equal clicks.

It immediately had good impact on the network and the sites that provide thousands unique visits and zero clicks (obviously faking most of their traffic) - instead of chasing and banning them every day, now we just don't pay them.
We are also making a fake clicks auto detection which we plan to punish faking clicks with subtracting 1 click instead of adding it, when calculating the revenue. This way we hope to prevent or at least minimize this kind of fraud too.

It's definitely a unique way of handling everything. Can you share some stats (anonymously) after a while that helps show the difference between before the changes and after? Just for curiosity.

Don't have graphs or something similar, but it's obvious anyway. 2 days ago we banned a faking views site with 10000 uniques daily that had 0-1 clicks per day. The problem is that until we notice that he already takes his 20% of our total pool revenue for 1 or two days, withdraws immediately and all other legit sites suffer with lowered revenue which we can't return or recalculate. Now we don't even need to chase and ban such sites, they can keep faking but will automatically win nothing from us. This method will also encourage placing our banner well visible, not just putting it somewhere to count views.

Yeah, I like the change a lot, was mostly looking for like a "case study." This is something that I haven't had to deal with myself (but most networks I use are invite-only and only target high-quality sites so that's likely a big reason).

In the preparation for Eadsy.net, we needed to remove the separate pool for free ads which was taking 10% of all impressions. Now it's 100% showing only payed ads, but in 10 days when Eadsy.net launches free advertising will be available again. It will just use the same pool as payed advertising, but will naturally take it's share of the impressions.

AdBTC.info will remain functional after December 10th! It will just change it's owner. In case of any downtime, all payed ads will be paused and delayed for the next day.
