Title: [ALL SOLD] 1100w Platinum (94%) server PSUs/breakout boards w/cables
Post by: quakefiend420 on April 25, 2015, 05:39:39 AM
PCIe CABLES NOW IN STOCK!!  See below for pricing.
Cables were purchased here on the forum from user klondike_bar, so out of respect for his business I will not sell just cables alone, only with a PSU order.

These are capable of running an SP20 at full tilt 24/7(I've done it with several!).

Solid quality and can run on 120v or 240v unlike most of the bigger server supplies.  Surprisingly quiet, I usually hear my miners' fans rather than the PSUs.  These meet or exceed Platinum specs across the board, they are seriously good units.

1100w SPECS:

http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/PFE1100-12-054RA/PFE1100-12-054RA-ND/3535541

Highlights:
Voltage - Input   90 ~ 264 VAC
Voltage - Output 1   12V
Voltage - Output 2   5V
Current - Output (Max)   90A, 3.3A
Power (Watts)   1100W
Applications   ITE (Commercial)
Efficiency   94%
Operating Temperature   0°C ~ 70°C (With Derating)
Size / Dimension   14.28" L x 2.15" W x 1.57" H (362.7mm x 54.5mm x 40.0mm)

Link to a dual breakout board just so you can see how good of a deal you're getting(not the one included, see pics):

1300s ARE ALL SOLD FOR NOW
1300W SPECS:

Voltage - Input   90 ~ 264 VAC
Voltage - Output 1   12V
Current - Output (Max)   108A
Power (Watts)   1300W
Applications   ITE (Commercial)
Efficiency   92%
Operating Temperature   0°C ~ 45°C
Size / Dimension   12.66" L x 2.15" W x 1.57" H (321.5mm x 54.5mm x 40.0mm)

PRICING:

1100w PSU w/ one breakout board - $70/ea + actual shipping
1300w PSU w/ one breakout board - $100/ea + actual shipping
PCIe cables - $3/ea(excellent quality 24" 16-gauge cables with ring terminals already installed)

So now you're off the races with 1.1kw or 1.3kw of platinum rated power for significantly cheaper than any ATX supply you'll find.  Seriously, go look.  The Seasonic 660w sells used for more than I'm asking for the 1300w and it's half the output.

I've tested each and confirmed that they work properly.  The breakout board is 12V+ and -.  These could also likely be used as direct replacements for other miners that use 12V directly to the boards such as the Antminer S4 or Spondoolies gear(pretty sure you have to set a flag in software to generic PSU somewhere though for the Spondoolies).  Please confirm before purchasing as I've only personally used these with PCIe cables to power S3s and SP20s, however.  If you need heavy gauge 12V cabling with ring terminals on both ends I have some available as well that I will include at no charge.

As you can see, I have a lot of these...

Interested in the 1300w. So you don't have any breakout board for the 1300watt currently? Or you do lol?

No, I do have breakout boards for the 1300s.  How many do you want?

EDIT: I see how my wording could have been confusing in the OP, just fixed it.

I need just one 1300 watt with a breakout board for now. Do you have a cable package currently? I should only need 4 sets of pci-e. Trying to run two S5's with one unit.

Ultimately I will need two more. Just like to try it out with the units for a bit first.

Not yet, I'm working on getting cable packages going as well but haven't received them just yet.

Don't the S5s need 4 PCIe each?

Honestly i need to double check. I'm going off of the S3. But you're probably right. The S3 only needs two unless you are OC'ing but considering the added wattage to the single unit they probably do need 4 pci-e connections. I can always source those.

So its $100 for the 1300watt unit plus breakout board? Do you accept paypal?

Also i may be walking on thin ice here but could two s5's run on the 1100watt unit you have? I only ask because its more efficient.. and iv'e seen the s5's only really pull 560 a piece. If you ran an SP20 at full boar i would think it could handle two s5's at stock?

Yeah, the S3 only draws about 360w, so two is OK there.  I've never owned an S5 but I'd bet that 4 would be recommended based on the power draw.

I generally prefer BTC.  Check my trust, I'm not known to rip people off.  Also fine with escrow(you cover the fee), if you like. Might be able to work something out with PayPal as a gift.

Yes, $100+shipping for the 1300 and the breakout board.

You may be able to do two S5s on the 1100, but I'd probably go with the 1300 just to give some headroom for power spikes and what not.  Plus the efficiency is a bit better when you're closer to 80-90% load than 100%.

Alright good sir ill take one of the 1300's. I would prefer paypal only because i don't have a lot of btc right now and i tend to value it more than usd, as we all should. But I can send it off through paypal as a gift if that's alright? Check shipping to 53172. Try 3 day- would be super if i could get if friday :)

Nice!

You can also hit up Klondike_Bar for PCIe to bare leads, he's in Canada for those across the border and offers them for pretty good pricing.

I would definitely suggest sourcing some cables with ring terminals already crimped on and offer it as a package to save time, just my opinion.

bold is what would be in a kit.

one 1100watt psu

four pcie cables cost?

 shipped to 07731

That would be $92 + shipping for one kit, should be around $20 for a total of $112.

If you wanted two of those I'd do $87 per kit, shipping would be around $26 for a total of $200.

Three I'll do $82 + $33 shipping, for $279 total

Four I'll do $78 plus $40 shipping for a total of $352.

As you can see, I can do better on shipping for more units.  The added weight doesn't cost as much as the initial shipment does.  i'm shipping FedEx Ground/Home Delivery, btw.  I think if I were to ship to a FedEx hold location it would be cheaper, too.  Or you can print a label for me if you have access to better shipping prices, I can give you packed weight and dimensions.

for the 1300W psu the breaking board is used to connect the psu and replace a computer motherboard? is that for that purpose? have connected a psu to a computer motherboard to switch it on...
mining giving less than electricity bill
IS there a way to reduce electricity bill of a psu ? can breaking boards be purchased anywhere on the web and plugged in to a psu? Does it give better efficiency for costs?
How many antminers S3 can be plugged to your psu? What costs does it give for monthly consumption : how many kwh each month for one S3?
Can you sell a breaking board and ship it to mauritius? can it be plugged to a thermaltake 360 W psu for board connection?
Thanks to reply

The breakout board is to distribute the power to various PCIe cables to power miners.  You cannot use these to power a PC.  These are platinum efficiency, they're more efficient than most all other PSUs.  You can run 2-3 S3s on the 1100w(Ihave no 1300s left) depending on what clockspeed you're running them at.  I can't speak to monthly consumption #s, that will depend on your local conditions.  The breakout boards are for these PSUs specifically, they're not needed for other ATX supplies.

I've been running anywhere between 4 and 12(depending on what gear I have at the time) of the 1100s for over a year now with 0 failures.  These are enterprise class PSUs, so MTBF should be quite high.

From looking @ the specs I see that the power supply supports load sharing,  is there a power sharing wire/pin on the breakout board? Do you have a detailed Diagram of those additional pins on the breakout board? or can you point me to one?

Thanks

It is not connected to a pin on the top side of the breakout board, but it is available where the 25 pin connector connects to the breakout board here:

https://i.imgur.com/H17DLiP.jpg

You could pretty easily solder a wire to it and use it.  According to the datasheet it should be pretty simple to enable sharing, you'd just need to connect that pin on all the supplies you're using, although I've never personally done it.:

http://datasheet.octopart.com/PFE1100-12-054RA-Power-One-datasheet-10302859.pdf

Quote
The PFE front-ends have an active current share scheme implemented for V1. All the CS current share pins need to be interconnected in order to activate the sharing function. If a supply has an internal fault or is not turned on, it will disconnect its CS pin from the share bus. This will prevent dragging the output down (or up) in such cases. The current share function uses a digital bi-directional data exchange on a recessive bus configuration to transmit and receive current share information. The controller implements a Master/Slave current share function. The power supply providing the largest current among the group is automatically the Master. The other supplies will operate as Slaves and increase their output current to a value close to the Master by slightly increasing their output voltage. The voltage increase is limited to +250 mV. The standby output uses a passive current share method (droop output voltage characteristic).

Hi!

I need to replace an Antminer S4 PSU. Not sure if what you have available will do...

If yes, do I need to do any modification (i.e. soldering, etc.) to it?

Please let me know.

Thanks in advance,

Does your S4 use 12V lines straight to the hashing board, or does it use PCIe?

My PSUs won't fit perfectly into the case(standard 1U units vs that square thing Bitmain uses, if you get me measurements on the current PSU I can confirm fitment), and you'd need two of my 1100W units to do it.  As long as that doesn't bother you, I bet we could could make something that would do the trick.

Yes.  One 1100w and 4 cables will run two S3s.  Shoot me a PM we'll work out the details.

What do you have in hand? 1100 watt?

Do the pcie cables have the rings so they can attach to the breakout boards?

PCIe CABLES NOW IN STOCK!!  See below for pricing.
Cables were purchased here on the forum from user klondike_bar, so out of respect for his business I will not sell just cables alone, only with a PSU order.

Example of how I use them(note these cables are NOT included, example only!):

Any questions, just ask! :)

I could use the cables with rings.  but I see you are not selling them separately.

Shipping to CA from USA is expensive, usually $40-50.

If you're ok with that we can get more specific.

Haven't owned one yet, but some quick googling shows them drawing 1000W?  Yeah, should power it fine if that's right.  I've run these PSUs drawing 1100W from the wall 24/7 for days at a time with 0 issues, they're freaking tanks.

I don't.  Prelude got several breakout boards that work with the 1300W version from me, if he figures out how to make them power on the 1100W, he may be able to help you out, should he choose to sell any.

I offered one kit, but both me and Prelude are from Canada, so i guess he doesn't want them that much (more expensive to and from here when dealing with Americans).

I think these are the low efficiency ones. About 86% bare at 50% load, so maybe 83% at full load. Something to keep in mind.

You guys are right regarding the efficiency. After further research, there are 2 model #'s;

DPS-1200FB A
&
DPS-1200FB-1 A

The 'DPS-1200FB-1 A' is a 94% efficient Common Slot Power Supply.

After looking at the photo on holybitcoin.com, seems like they are selling the low efficiency one.

So if anyone else is looking for one, remember to look for one that specifically says "DPS-1200FB-1 A"

Also quakefiend420, kilo17 at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1294058.0 runs this PSU combo with the Avalon6 and he's on 120v. Which is where I got the idea from and boggles my mind since it says only 900w max at 120v, but he's able to run it when he overclocks the PSU to 12.55v.

Sorry to get off topic, just sharing information to others of what I have researched.

I blame Prelude, he took all the stock and forced to me look for an alternative server PSU. lol

I have some ATX supplies that I'd let go on the cheap if you wanted them.  Let me know if you're interested and I can get you some details on what exactly I've got, been meaning to get them listed for sale again but just haven't gotten around to it yet.  500-850W bronze to gold efficiency, IIRC.  So not quite as efficient as my server supplies, but the cheaper price per W should help make up for it in the long run.  I've actually got like 8-10 of them total, so if you wanted to work a package deal for everything I'd make you a hell of a deal.  Shipping will cost a bit though, all together they're not going to be light...  I can probably get them all in a single box though, I still have plenty of random packing material sitting around.

I used to use these to power various miners and GPU rigs back before I ended up with a ton of the 1100 and 1300 watt units that I've been selling, they were all retired at that point.  Been sitting on the shelf for a year or so.  You can use more than one to power a single miner if it exceeds the rating of a single PSU, just don't power the same hashing board with more than one PSU at a time, so like on an S5 for instance, you could power board #1 on PSU1 and board #2 and the controller on PSU2.

Let me know.

EDIT: just went and looked, here's what I've got:

2x Corsair TX750s
1x Corsair CX750M(missing some cables, I think.  All PCIe for a miner but might be short some connectors for a PC, will investigate further if you care)
1x Seasonic 850W gold
1x PC Poiwer and Cooling Silencer 610W
1x OCZ ZT550
1x Enermax Pro82+ 625W

Make me an offer I can't refuse :P

Shipping is double, but the extra 15$ is probably worth the quality, or not. Dunno. Also the shipping cost is in CAD so its probably cheaper still.

I had the part number 419613-001 for the 1200w;

The 1200w one is about 85% efficient, must be a different serie.

With an SP20, you can quite easily get by with a 900W to 1000W power supply if you downclock it. Contrary to the stated specifications, the SP20 is a really dandy 1200-1250GH miner with good efficiency. If you actually stretch for the 1700GH goal, you'll end up with a hot, loud, and inefficient (i.e. in terms of Watts/GH) device, that may not actually get to 1700GH/s. You can spend a lot of time and power the harder you push it.

quakefiend420 i've done silly things and burnt the cables breakout board side, so i need to cut them (the burnt/oxidized cable part) and recrimp because the burnt/oxidized part is heating up to 54c now~ so not critical but need to be changed asap.

Do you know exactly what gauge of o ring i would need to buy online to recrimp them? Thanks.

I actually have some of the same terminals that I could send you, how many do you need?

Its two per cable and i got most of the one you sent me damaged (total of 12), so quite a bit. I was hoping to buy some cheap bulk online.

You're in Canada, right?  Might be cheaper for you to buy up there, then.  I'd send you 12 for a couple bucks plus actual cost of shipping if you're in the US.

Wire size 12-10, terminal size 1/4" is what you need.

I'd be curious to know this as well, never happened to me nor have any of my customers ever reported any issues with the cables I sold.  Accidentally shorted terminals together by trying to put too many on a single breakout boards, perhaps?

I've used jury rigged cables for a while because i'm lazy. I redid a crimp only using plyers and a hammer and a flathead screwdriver, before i got the tool to do proper crimp. And since they were working well, i just forgot about it.

But eventually it loosened and slowly got hotter and i only noticed when the yellow wires started darkening. So now i'm getting a set of o ring terminal to do the job right once and for all, at the lost of a couple of inch of wiring.

Really? Damn. They must've been pretty loose for that to happen? Like "i can pull these wires out if I pull on them" type of loose? I assume there was no damage to the breakout board's lugs?

Not that loose. Which is why its weird because i gave a good pull to every cable. But this was one with the hard yellow isolation, i think the plastic must of been holding them tight, but it loosened with the heat or something?

And no, a bit of black residue around on the + pole. Not sure whats best to clean it. I'm running them again now with different cables. If you or whoever i sell them to doesnt want to cables i guess i could just turn them into 6 to 6 pins cables instead.

Forgot to mention earlier, everything was delivered today. I seriously couldn't be happier, dealing with quake was fantastic from beginning to end. Great communication, great price, fast shipping, packaging was the best I've ever seen... Amazon ain't got shit on him. Should also mention that I paid him directly without escrow. He's a stand-up guy, no doubt.

Whenever you're ready to sell the rest of your server PSUs, hit me up.

Yeah, when you crimp those cables make sure you don't get the insulation in the crimp or that can happen.

Apologies for digging up a really old post:

We have a significant stock of Model: PET1300-12-054NA E and would be looking to put them into service.  Could you point me towards any breakout boards or adapters for the above model.

I greatly appreciate your help and could pay you for your time.  Thanks in advance and look to hear back.
