i heard many Cryptocurrency but why people mostly use bitcoin?

Because of the network effect. Bitcoin as the first currency of its kind has the highest adoption rate which makes it the most usefull crypto currency. There are probably alt coins out there that are an improvement over bitcoin from a technical perspective, but it cant be used as long as no merchant is accepts it. The more bitcoin is accepted to strong this effect will become.

Bitcoin is going to be implemented in many big stores and why not using it.
Fiverr accepts bitcoin, and many other, bitcoin has been for a long time in the market and i consider it as the main cryptocurrency coin.
Other coins are called alt coins because of this, it's not that people don't use these but less than bitcoin.

Bitcoin is also more stable price-wise compared to other alts, many of which are created mostly to enrich founders (pump and dump) and undergo wild price swings.

Well it's the oldest. It's most trusted. It has biggest user base and it's network effect is huge. It has most money invested into it so this gives it a trust as well. It's basically very proven.

It was the first technology of its kind and was widely adopted by users.  It was the first one to get people rich, it was the first for pretty much anything, which is why its still the best.  

Bitcoin is the first cyptocurrency. Other are just a clone or with slight modifications. The foremost invented has established in many commerce widely compared any other followers. So, success of bitcoin is obvious. People give respect to new thing than copied one.

Every Cryptocurrency is based on Bitcoin. people mostly use Bitcoin because it has wider utility.

Why like anything else but the king of crypto currency?

Well, your question in the title doesn't match with the one in the post.
But I'll answer the "Why people mostly use" one.
[IMO] It's because Bitcoin is the first, and still the best compare to the other currency.

Being the first crypto, it has more established infrastructure compared to the other altcoins. Which include the payment systems, exchangers, bitcoin accepted stores and largely the reason also is that all the other altcoin use bitcoin as the benchmark. This also gives it the advantage in terms of having large community base which is what cryptocoins are all about.

Daddy is Daddy, ofcourse bitcoin is more popular and have maximum market cap and that is the reason people use bitcoins more as compared to any other digital currency and I believe bitcoin is user friendly and that is the reason why people are more attracted towards it.

The same reason everyone used to use WebCrawler and AltaVista. This is known as first-mover advantage (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First-mover_advantage) but very few are able to hold the lead long-term.

In regards to Bitcoin, dissension at the core development level will prove to be the currency's undoing. There is zero chance that Bitcoin can hold onto the advantage unless the core team matures and decides to compromise and become more team oriented. Currently, the members are suffering from various degrees of egomania (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egomania) and self-interest.

Yep. Same thoughts with other users. One of the reasons I choose bitcoin is because it's the most trusted cryptocurrency and has most users than others. People trust more in bitcoin for investment and widening marketing network.

Bitcoin has been the very first decentralized crypto currency with a distributed public ledger or technology known as the block chain. It's been the most oldest and trusted crypto currency who started this revolution and eventually came up with the rise of new alt coins. It is the most widely accepted method of payment among merchants and it has the highest market cap among all cryptos. That's why I love Bitcoin since it's the pioneer of the block chain technology. Just my opinion  ;D

It has a large merchant base and it's secured by a large network. Not one of the other Alt coins can come close to the hashing power of Bitcoin. We tend to follow the herd, like the

sheep we are.  ;D You could also say, Bitcoin has the largest support base, from loads of developers working on it collaboratively in the background. It has stood the test of time,

The question is why should I use any other Cryptocurrency? The advantages for using Bitcoins are huge (most used, most stable and secure for doublespends) with only few disadvantages (cost of mixing comes to my mind)

Mainly I use Bitcoin more because it is more popular. This makes it to be more profitable and useful when you get some of it. There is no other reason for me.

Other altcoins are faster to transfer or have more interesting features (more privacy, rewards for holding, etc.) and I would tend to use them if they were as popular.

I use bitcoins because of it's huge userbase as compared to other cryptocurrencies, which provides it more security from pump and dumps.

The reason that most people use it the most is because it is one of the only cryptocurrencies that can actually be used in the real world.

Can you buy stuff in your local coffeeshop with one of your other coins? I guess not.

Yes, because bitcoin is a payment system that is very fast, and easy to use anywhere than other ecurrency

You only select one most popular coin because of the inflation concern: If you use many coins then it is the same as fiat money inflation

Other alt coins are mostly pump and dumps, many are just a copy of Bitcoin with a different algorithm. Bitcoin has a network that has higher security, compared to other networks. A 51% attack would be unfeasible and expensive compared to smaller coins. Bitcoin has various applications and POS built for it, for example Bitpay (POS). The stable value and acceptance rate is a huge plus too.

Bitcoin is famous for it stable market in compared with the other cryptocurrencys and also due to its muct bigger price many peoples nowdays are accepting it many shops and malls, many restarunts , many companys and so on. even microsoft is also accepting it and one day it become the worlds best and only currency(only my imagination till it really reach that point)

First of all "First impression s the best impression" and/so, the bitcoin is the first digital currency ever invited/created and fortunately it was the best cryptocurrency (imo). And at least we can find more markets/shops for bitcoins and not much for other cryptocurrencies.

Btc is my favorite because it has a greater following imho. More people take btc than any other crypto. Also when you refference btc most people can relate it as a crypto vs saying I hold (insert altcoin name here)...

All of these altcoins features have drawbacks as well, with faster to transfer you increase orphan rate especially for bigger blocks (you waste more hashrate), with more privacy you have to increase the size of similar transactions in bytes, and rewards for holding dont work for cold wallets - so you take some risk of losing your coins to get the rewards.

I wonder whether the Bitcoins parameters mostly were set right by accident or deepth thought. The only bad decision was the definition of Bitcoin as 100.000.000 satoshi (should be many order less), and the 1MB blocksize limit (original Satoshi 32MB blocksize limit was changed by so called "experts" withouht much thought what happens in future...(like 640KB memory size will be sufficient forever...))

Bitcoin made a first impression among us that is best impression too. When we are using paypal for internet money transactions, we get a freedom of transacting with very less price in the form bitcoin. So, people struck with the liberty provider.

The network effect is 50% of a coin's success but the rest is hard work and dedication by good devs, and the devs (leaving all the stupid drama as of lately) are doing a great job and will continue to do so. Meanwhile I can't fully trust devs from other coins because they are just trying to come up with some gimmick trying to replace Bitcoin.

This reason fits perfectly to the question (though we must admit that widespread application of bitcoin usage isn't there yet). Why would I use other cryptos out there that is probably not being accepted by merchants when I can simply use bitcoins to transact? Say for example, I want to buy a Steam game that has below market rates. Should I use other coins to finish the deal? Of course not, simply because many merchants/sellers/retailers are also interested on gaining bitcoin, they will consider it as a form of payment and not other cryptos (which are mostly pump and dump scams).

The father of cryptocurrency ;D and because this is the most popular. mostly, but not all altcoin is turn into sh*tcoin in the end. more adopter accept bitcoin than altcoin. you can buy most everything with bitcoin.

Because bitcoin is the most popular and stable currency of other cryptocurrency till date..it's also the oldest and high valued of all the others..Bitcoin is also the first of it's kind (cryptocurrencies)..Another Reason is most gambling sites and online wallets accepts only bitcoins not the other coins!

I trust bitcoin then +/- (dogecoin & Litecoin) even that i didn't use them yet.

If one of the altcoin will make a huge success and its price goes more than bitcoin then their adoption will be more significant

Price alone wouldn't affect that much on the adoption rate of a certain coin. If there is a certain weak-point in the code, no matter how much the price is, it wouldn't be adopted by the masses.

It is actively developed, the price is relatively stable comparing to most other coins.

it is simple. if you ask random people have you heard about bitcoin and also on a different question as them if they have heard about XYZ coin (replace XYZ with any altcoin you like) you'll see that there is no one who have heard about an altcoin without hearing about bitcoin. and only people who are interested in bitcoin and cryptocurrency is the ones who heard about altcoins.
bitcoin is the first major cryptocurrency and has the biggest adoption among all cryptocurrencies. besides it has the most number of dedicated developers. and the price is highest.

I did not have idea about why do this the others. So I don't know why the others use bitcoin. But I guess because was the first currency created and have to story to tell for this. Beginning from the story of the creator.

I use it because was the first digital currency that I knew and then because I know (after) approximately the power of the technology which create it. And at the end (naturally) because has the best value in the market.

Well I entered into the bitcoin world when bitcoin was at its lowest, a plus point for me because I am pretty sure it will not break the 200$ support. Another thing is that it have been on the market for move than half a decade so people have started getting curious about what us bitcoin and how it works. Which again only seems to me as a positive point and it will surely push the price higher..  ;D

There are more than 500 alts. Alt means alternative coins, as alternative to Bitcoin. Most of them are copies of Bitcoin with other name and slight modification, but there are handful that use completely new codes and algorithms that are not copies of Bitcoin code.

Bitcoin is being accepted by lots of new merchants everday and other cryptos are just depended on bitcoin price atleast for now. Bitcoin has potential to grow and as payment processor it has lowest fee that's why i love to do transactions with bitcoin.

mostly it is because all of other cryptocurrencies that you are talking about, came after bitcoin. and bitcoin has the most popularity among them. and that is why they are called "ALT"coins.

but another big reason, in my opinion, is the fact that most of the altcoins are copies of either bitcoin or each other without any actual useful feature. and also a great number of them are pump and dump scams which are going to get forgotten sooner or later when their big dumping time comes.

i like it because its so easy to start using. its extremely easy to create a wallet. and when you send and receive coins its totally anonymous. you dont have to provide any real life info about yourself.

Being a bitcoin trader I need to stick with highest volume generated instrument. Because the less volume pairs may be nominated into a single direction based on a single or group of people. This is the reason I prefer to stick with bitcoin compared to other digital currencies.

it is simple to answer is that Bitcoin is the main coin which gives effect to all cryptocurrencies , its like dollar what ever transaction you have to do it has to be done in dollar just like that which ever coin you hold it at the end you have to convert it to Bitcoin and then you can use it the value of that coin.

Well it was the first one I ever heard of, that's the first reason right there and it's the only one I see being here for a long period of time, alts comes and goes, for example, stellar was here a while back and everyone was so excited about it and now it's no where to be heard.

If you mean liquidity  by Available Supply then you are wrong.
Because there are many other alt coins that have lots of coin (because they are cheap)
But Bitcoin is leading by Market Cap with 3.6Billion USD then it is Ripple 0.17Billion USD.

Indeed, I think even Ethereum will have a hard time justifying it's existence once sidechains are up and running. It seems sidechains will have no limits in imagination, they will be able to create whatever on top of Bitcoin, this makes Ethereum a bit redundant. Maybe only Maidsafe is the only really legit project besides Bitcoin work being at.

I prefer Bitcoin as my number one crypto currency of choice because it has more adoption than other coins and it has the highest market cap and price. That is the reason why I don't change Bitcoin for anything else. I still hold some alts though, but they are not much.  :)

To point to few of the reasons are, the first of it's kind and its the closest one that will beat paypal in terms of overall acceptance which its just matter of time before it happens.... It's transparent enough for me that I know I won't be looking into any other cryptocurrency or even other payment methods for the years to come plus the community is the biggest of the crypto communities

I use bitcoin because it is the first ever crypto currency. It is the most famous cryptocurrency and the most useful. Most stores accept Bitcoin, compared to other digital currency. It is also the best investment coin, the price is steadily rising and that earns people more money.

My last anBitcoins provide a simple and elegant payment way and method. I prefer btc than other digital currencies because of following reasons.

(1) No fear of stealing-- btc aren't coins, which a small kid can take out from your pocket

(2) More secure -- It's considered more secured as most wallets can be protected by PIN, and no fear of getting hacked.

(3) Many methods of earning-- Earning btc is easy as many websites pay you for posting and visiting their sites, whereas for real cash , u need to do some hard work..

Bitcoin is going to get compared now to anything that has to do with internet banking. It will be forever the first ever incarnation of money 2.0. Money 1.0 was gold, money 1.2 was fiat with credit cards and banking, money 1.5 was paypal, no we are going to money 2.0. And im pretty sure at this point no other project is going to surpass Bitcoin to do this job.

it's more because we need to be successful with the first crypto first, before even thinking to be successful with two of them

There's no need for more crypto-currencies to exist, and i would prefer if there was only bitcoin. The only thing positive about other currencies is that
you can test all sorts of possible improvements for bitcoin w/o risking a large issue on a live chain.
All alts end up as pump and dump coins, so why should they even have their moment, when it will only rob naive investors from their money..

I can say that Ethereum has very interesting technology such as smartchains/decentralized applications. But still, I think this is something that could be implemented on Bitcoin as well. I choose Bitcoin as my favorite crypto because there is none other like it. Many alts out there are just hype and scams, so the most trustworthy crypto of all is Bitcoin. Just my opinion.  :)

I also watched ethereum and i was affraid that will 'replace' bitcoin.
It became so popular and poloniex exchange had the largest volume of ethereum.
For every second there were at least 10 new orders (buying or selling), but bitcoin now is leading and it's most popular compared to others.

They have an interesting technology and maybe even capable devs technologically, but there devs are horrible in management and finances. They would be better off hiring people to do this for them then what they did, they have put a whole project into a jeopardy.

Very soon they will run out of cash and then the community will have to take over with the development. Will this be successful is to be seen!

Also, Ethereum is being speculated immensely at the moment. Just look at those swings, pumps then dumps, then repeat all over again.

The number one virtue of Bitcoin is its community support and its being compromised by division.  Divide and conquer is a well known strategic maneuver in community based projects.  Let us hope that our "precious" bitcoin isn't falling victim to that maneuver.

Bitcoin is the most popular crypto currency. The infrastructures are being built around bitcoin. However, these infrastructure can also be used by other digital currency.

Bitcoin is the most expensive crypto out there. It is also the father of blockchain technology. I compare Bitcoin as the Gold of crypto. That is why I like it and why I would never leave it. I think Bitcoin will always be the most valuable crypto coin out there. Just my opinion.  :)

Bitcoin is the only digital currency acceptable in my local exchange which i can exchange to fiat instantly and vice versa with no hassles.. Though other alternative currencies have some potential value, they are only created as competitors to Bitcoin with the hope for a similar explosion in value and have smaller userbase.

In the cryptocurrency field i think that bitcoin is first (or one of the first) digital currency.

So people have started learning and experimenting with the first cryptocurrency.

Another fact is that it is the most popular digital coin and it's community is everyday growing.

1) Better market:  more places/exchanges to buy bitcoin. 
2) More vendors:  more places to actually spend bitcoin compared to altcoins.  Try finding places that take DOGE and actually sell something you'd want to buy other than a t-shirt with a doge on it.
3) Bigger community:  more users, more discussion about bitcoin than altcoins.  Though I do think this environment can certainly be toxic.

It's the same as any other digital currency that I've used. I don't really care whichever that I pick. It doesn't matter to me at all.

User base is the most important factor if a coin is to succeed. You can have a state of the art coin but if no one uses it, it's worth nothing. Bitcoin has the largest user base of all crytocurrencies. And of course what's the use of having a digital currency if you can't buy anything with it? Bitcoin is the most widely accepted coin, no other coin comes close.

Bitcoin was the first ever cryptocurrency. All those other altcoins just followed Bitcoin. This means that Bitcoin was the best unless an altcoin became better than it. Since all those altcoins just copied Bitcoin, they were never going to beat it. I love Bitcoin as it is safe, secure and it has a stable price. people use bitcoin because its the first cryptocurrency as much as i know.it was introduced by satoshi nakamoto and we copyed this concept and made our own crpytocurrencys all those altcoins many altcoin developers are bitcoiners but all altcoin developers are not bitcoin developers.and also their difficulty level is not too high like bitcoin so their transactions are pritty fast then ours.we switch in this altcoins only for these reasons and also many traders also do it to avoid many losses and then they can hold their coins for really a long time.and there are also many points that this is non profitable or very less profitable but still its a good alternative of bitcoin

I think there are many reasons why people prefer bitcoins over other crypto. some are obvious like bitcoin is more well known and because it's the first cryptocurrency.
one of the less obvious reasons are probably trust. there are so many scam/pump and dump coins that people are always suspicious of every new coins.

Digital currencies don't offer that ease and freedom what it comes to talk about the usage of these.Bitcoin is being regularized and its price doesn't depend on small pump/dump groups so it is the biggest difference to like it most.

Most other altcoin is just a pump and dump. The developers premine or ICO it, then it goes to exchange, the price is high initially, then the developers and insiders dump it.

Yeah bitcoin's price is more stable than any other altcoin in the sense that it's much less likely to die tomorrow when you wake up. Can't say it's true for so many altcoins. That's the main difference. Bitcoin has more potential and at the same time is safer to invest in than any altcoin. And that's also the reason why I like bitcoin more: it offers the best balance between safety and prospects.
And the reason behind it is that it is and will always be the first that was ever created.

Well, this is what I think.  Bitcoin is favored over the other cryptocurrencies because it was the first widely adopted decentralized digital currency.  Because it is so widely adopted, Bitcoin has reached a point where it's hard to change its protocol without strong consensus which makes it a more stable platform than the others. While many of the other altcoins may be technically superior, Bitcoin has a robust community behind it which is how it is designed to work and which is what makes it viable.

Bitcoin is always compared to other digital currencies (alt coins) simply because it's the center of all alt coins. IMHO, no alt coin can reach the level of bitcoin. There's no point comparing an alt coin to bitcoin, bitcoin is just too powerful and vastly used. Most alt coins will just vanish over time or will eventually become a dump coin. Only some of them will remain for a long time.

sorry to say but I have no idea about any other digital currency except bitcoin. I have recently join bitcoin. one of my friend brief me about it. then he gave me so much time to let me know about such a large and heavy website of bitcoin. he really trained me how to join a signature campaign. he trained me how to invest my flat currency in bitcoin. he also trained me how to earn a decent amount of money using bitcoiin form. but still I have no idea aoout any other digital currency. Bitcoin came first other cryptos tried to be an improved version of btc but they all failed imo,what's more important is that you can use btc like a real currency and buy goods and services this is something you can't do with other cryptos their main usage is for trading.
